Here is the next chapter. For future reference Tom Senior is Tom Riddle and Tom Junior is Harry Potter. Please read and review thanks, love Angel x
Tom Riddle had never thought much of the Goblins in honesty but it was because they'd never done anything like this for him. He wasn't a friend of the nation but a knight of the nation which was still an honour. In fact now that he was combined with the young boy he did mainly everything which made sense and the young boy let him do so. The only time he wouldn't do something was when Tom junior was one hundred percent against it. In fact he was stunned by how vehemently Tom junior agreed with some people needing to die or otherwise disappear in society. He readily accepted that Tom senior knew more magic then he did and Tom Senior readily accepted that he knew way more about the muggle world naturally than he did. It was in this kind of tandem that they worked off of each other as one in control and well-oiled unit. As some smelling salts were passed underneath his nose and he heard some chuckling in the distance his eyes slowly fluttering open. Ragnok was now sitting in a conjured chair and was smiling easily at him. Clearly he didn't think anything of the fact that the boy had fainted. At least he wasn't offended by it.
Tom was handed a reinvigoration potion which he drank slowly feeling all the feeling returning to his extremities as he slowly got up. He wriggled his fingers and toes before sitting down onto the chair he'd been provided with. He was handed a cup of hot chocolate and smiled. It was his favourite after all. Even Tom senior was quite partial to a hot chocolate. He always had been. For whatever reason hot chocolate always gave him a sense of great comfort he couldn't find anywhere. Outside the bank it had glowed silver all over for a small while however most people thought they were closed for a few minutes for renovations. The foyer used to have white floor with black mosaic tiles in it and always looked very worn indeed but now it was covered with a gleaming new white marbled floor with high domed ceilings and brand new chandeliers. It had accents of gold, silver and bronze all over it. It truly did look remarkable. All the tellers had brand new desks, chairs, weights and equipment they could use. It was wonderful.
Tom turned back to Ragnok who had a small file in his hands which he handed to him. "You may use the floo here or anywhere in the bank to get to Addlemore House. As it is tradition you must change the password for the floo into the property here which all former Lords of Addlemore have done. The last lord used the passphrase of Addlemore residence to get home but even with us telling him it wasn't the most secure name he wouldn't relent although it was a long time ago. Write down here what you choose so we may log it in the floo book or records" he said as Tom frowned. What type of fool would think Addlemore Residence which was almost the same as Addlemore House would ever confuse anyone? He nodded and started thinking seriously about what he should choose. It must sound sensible he thought. He then thought about the name Addlemore which actually sounded much like the Adder type of snake and he smiled.
"I will call my home Ophidian Lodge. Addlemore sounds like Adder a type of snake anyway so it fits!" he said as Ragnok smiled at him.
"I like you Tom Potter. You are sensible and do things most sensibly. I just wish everyone could be like you. Yes thank you Griphook as you can see it is done now. I wish you well. Now then we need to talk about your sword you are having commissioned by us because it will have three functions. The first function which you will use it for most will be as a pin which you will wear on your school robes somewhere. The second use will be as a letter opener. The third and most important use will be as a sword! I will show you how mine works!" he said gesturing to the sword pin on his robes. It was relatively decent sized pin. He removed it and fastened the clasp on the back before sliding it up as an elegant letter opener rested in its place. He then pushed down all the way to get the sword he'd used earlier and when he slid the back clasp up to the middle it was a pin once more which he the refastened to his robes with a smile. Tom was impressed indeed. He agreed that the sword should do the same thing exactly and Ragnok was proud he asked for it that way.
Next they discussed the design of it. He didn't want a run of the mill sword either because anyone could have one of those. He asked for a sword made in the Japanese style of a katana with a gem encrusted platinum handle which formed the figure of a dragon. It contained two pure jade crystals for the dragon's eyes and some diamonds on the scales of the dragon. He asked to have the words Callidus Gloria which translated to cunning glory etched on the blade of the katana. He had them give it every kind of protection possible so that it could be imbibed with the blood of those he trusted implicitly which it would not be able to harm. It would obviously be able to harm those whose blood he did not supply to it as this was safest and being that it was his own sword it would never harm him or any Goblin who should handle it. It was a beautiful design and one the goblins were proud to make. Once the design was finalised and the goblins left to get it made the bank was once more opened as he stepped into the floo and flooed over to Ophidian Lodge. Those who entered the bank and saw him thought nothing of it as he had no scar and glasses so couldn't possibly have been the Tom Potter from their novels.
He emerged from the fireplace gracefully walking forth his Addlemore ring calling out to the ward book which he found inside a small cupboard in the corner of the entrance way only he could access. He opened the cupboard which took a small sample of blood from him for this one time and then opened the book reading the names there his eyebrows rising higher the more he read. Some of these people weren't even alive anymore.
People and Guests admitted access to Addlemore House as designated by Lord Addlemore.
Lord & Lady Abdallah and Safia Shafiq
Lord & Lady Pooja and Viki Shah
Lord & Lady Pravina and Raj Patil
Lord & Lady Tiberius and Thelma Nott
Lord & Lady Edgar and Millicent Bones
Lord & Lady Abraxas and Mafalda Malfoy
Lord & Lady Orion and Walburga Black
Lord & Lady Cygnus and Dorea Black
On and on the list went until the whole page was full. It didn't go any further but did make him scowl though. First of all Lord & Lady Shafiq were dead and had been for over fifty years. Lord & Lady Shah weren't around either and neither were the Lord & Lady Blacks mentioned as far as he knew. He crossed every name he found there from the list essentially making it so he would be the only one allowed entry to the home for now. He entered the living room stunned to find it a mess completely and literally gagged as the smell reached his nostrils. Whoever the last Lord was he'd passed away after a party and hadn't had an elf to clean up after him either. He called Lolly who entered and sneezed looking very angry at the mess there.
"Lolly as you can see here the last Addlemore Lord whoever he was did not have a house elf and died after a party sixty or so years back. I need you to clean this room up please but before you do please check that the rest of the house isn't like this!" he asked carefully.
"Right away master! Oh this is most shameful. I sure hope it's not like this everywhere although Lolly will be delighted with the new work!" she enthused leaving him standing there as she zipped away very fast. He waited patiently for a few minutes until she returned again.
"The living room, master bathroom, kitchen and master bedroom are like this unfortunately but the rest of the bathrooms and rooms in the house are clean or as clean as they can be without decades of use. It would seem old Lord Addlemore was a dirty old slob the dirty bugger!" she said laughing slightly as he joined her. She was a funny elf after all.
"I'm quite sure he was Lolly. I will be coming here every weekend while I am not in school and so you will need to prepare me my meals here for me at that time only. I may not elect to use all of the house but for now I am not sure. If I don't use all of the house I want you to clean the parts I don't frequent once a month only. I wouldn't want to look like a slob or dirty bugger myself!" he said lightly as she laughed at him. She loved her master Tom. He was always so kind with her. He'd not been kind to his friends and had scared them a lot so she'd heard anyway but she'd never been there during his death eater meetings as he'd always send her away. She was too sweet and innocent to be warped by what he was doing. Right now he was never more thankful he'd made that executive decision ages ago. He abhorred anyone who mistreated house elves who lived only to serve and didn't deserve that kind of awful treatment. He didn't feel the same about other beings who didn't do as he liked though such as ministry employees like Dolores Umbridge who didn't toe the line. From studying articles of her in the prophet he could just tell she was the kind of person who only ever did something in support of someone else if she was getting something from it.
He moved from the hallway properly into the living room as he'd only really stepped inside it but not entered it properly. It was likely that the party which had happened here had occurred in the nineteen twenties somewhere. There were still empty and half empty shrimp cocktail dishes and drink glasses everywhere amongst many other things of that time. It was rather horrendous as was the smell as well. Never the less he guessed it was only like this as Lord Addlemore had died shortly after this party and with no house elf to clean it he was just unlucky. A couple of snaps of her fingers later and the room was clean mostly except the thick layers of dust but he wasn't bothered by that for now.
"Master Tom these dishes are too far gone to keep. I can tell they have been here since roughly nineteen twenty two. Should I buy more China like this? I hope this is ok?" she asked as he jumped having momentarily forgotten she was there at all.
"Oh right yes that's fine. I didn't want to keep them anyway. In fact throw away any ware you find here which is dirty at all and tastefully replace it as you like. I have enough money so it's not a problem. I'll just look around but please don't rush. I'm not staying here now and I don't want you to tire yourself out too much. You have until Friday evening to clean the place. Today I am just looking around. I'll be back!" he said exiting the house through the front door.
"Oh I will Master Tom. Don't you worry we'll make sure you're never a dirty bugger like old Lord Addlemore. I'm in here if you need anything!" she called out sweetly as he turned nodding once at her. The house was like a mix between a manor and a castle with round towers and turrets on the sides and a normal looking manor in the centre. Behind the house he could see a swimming pool, quidditch pitch and vast array of greenhouses and it was the greenhouses which made him smile the most. He could practice Herbology here. Tom Senior had always loved Herbology and the relation it made to Potions. Most people never connected the dots but he did. He loved them both and how much they went hand in hand together. Tom Junior was very excited about flying and made him roll his eyes. Tom had never been good at flying in his day so he'd never done it but who knows maybe he would be now. He wasn't terrified of flying or anything like that he was just bad at it so had never really taken to it.
He entered the house once more. Before him was a large stairs which pronged like a fork into two sets of stairs which came off the main stairs on either side of the hallway. Where the two sets of stairs separated from the main one there was a small landing on which was a side table with a small few nick knacks on it. He passed the stairs and the door to the living room he'd been in earlier. Opposite the door of the living room was the floo he'd come from earlier. He walked into the next room or what he thought was a room but instead was a large cloak cupboard full of old shoes, cloaks and ornate parasols. He would ask Lolly to clean it up and keep the parasols as they were pretty but everything else would need to go. He continued exploring the house. He went to the potions lab, duelling room, library, music parlour, office and finally master suite. Content with how it all looked he flooed back to the bank and exited deciding to have his dinner in an establishment in Horizont Alley. It was a nice upmarket place and he really enjoyed the Italian food he got there. It was nice to be able to sit and people watch for a short while. With a subtle notice me not charm here and there no one much paid him any attention and he loved it.
He went into the trunk store ordering a very special apartment trunk which had a biting defence on it. If anyone should steal or attempt to steal from him, his trunk would sprout fangs and bite the person taking a small sample of blood at the same time. He would at the start assign colours to different people and if the blood samples came up those colours then he would know who it was. He'd select black for Dumbledore, green for Snape and orange for Weasley etc. He was very proud of himself. As he didn't look the way that Tom Potter did in those infernal adventure books that had been released about him no one much questioned the initials he'd asked for accepting that he just so happened to have the same initials and leaving it at that. He bought some books on Herbology and supplies and had Lolly leave them at Addlemore house somewhere for him to get on Friday. He picked up some more quills and parchment as well as some sweets. He was a child still after all and headed home. What a day!
