Here is the next chapter. For future reference Tom Senior is Tom Riddle and Tom Junior is Harry Potter. Please read and review thanks, love Angel x

Tom was sitting at his desk finishing his homework and he was enjoying himself. He needed to write an essay about his favourite extracurricular activity and why. He was just finished writing about gardening and put his pen down when Lolly popped in making him jump. He'd not called for her so why was she here? Was something amiss with the house?

"Master Tom when I was cleaning the house I found this letter for you. It says it is for the new Lord Addlemore!" she said handing over an envelope which he took in surprise.

"Thank you Lolly. You can get back to whatever you were doing but remember I'm not coming over for another few hours yet so don't do too much unless you really need to. I'll call you when it's time for you to bring me there!" he instructed as she nodded smiling and left. He looked at his homework which was now done and put it into his school sack and then opened the letter wondering what it would say.

To the new Lord Addlemore,

I am uncertain as to when you will receive this letter and if it is out of date I can but apologise. I do not believe in house elves as I believe to be truly strong you should be able to do things for yourself. There is nothing wrong with house elves they're just not for me. If the house is a mess then it's my fault and I apologise. As you can no doubt see from my ware and decorations I like to throw many the soiree. It is the way to go after all. Nothing beats the odd speakeasy and I do live to party. Well I did until recently. I love all things fancy and do love treating myself. Nothing is wrong with loving yourself and anyone who says there is, is fooling themselves. However things are not at all right with the world these days and I am genuinely afraid.

Albus Dumbledore is not ok at the moment. Things have gone downhill for him since Arianna died. He has never been able to get over her death or that he might have been one of the ones to cause it whether by accident or not. He is a man of a certain disposition and although not my place to judge I am afraid I have heard rumours about him and Gellert Grindlewald. I myself asked him about it when last he was at a party of mine and he blushed so hard he was unable to hide his true intentions. He simply became more flustered then I've ever seen him at any previous point and it was rather funny to watch him struggle. He has started using the phrase for the greater good to explain away things he does which others would not understand I am most disconcerted by it. Not only that but I am truly concerned for Aberforth. He blames Albus for the death of Ariana and it is making him bitter and resentful of life and everyone in it. He just hides away in his Hogs Head bar. He used to be so great and happy and now…well he's just a mess. I really am concerned for him.

Gaunt was here the other night with that Riddle fellow although they most definitely did not turn up together. That would have been a disaster of epic proportions and I don't have the patience to deal with it. They positively hate each other and it gets tense when they are near one another alas not much can be done about it. At least with Gaunt you know where you stand. He's completely vile but honest. Riddle doesn't say much or do much either. He just enjoys the parties and the social aspect of it all. He is scared of Grindlewald as we all are. We tried telling Albus that man was evil but he accused us of going dark when we said it. He told us that if we didn't stop saying things against Gellert and seriously hurting his feelings all the time he'd tell Spooner in the DMLE we were turning dark. I implore you my Lord to see reason. I assure you we are not dark. We were never dark we just wanted Albus to see the truth. I am terrified as he is too far gone now. He accuses everyone who disagrees with him as going dark and it's now becoming very dangerous. He is an up and coming member of society and a shudder to think of a man like that ever in control.

Unfortunately for me I have been left with no choice but to disown my darling son Gaston William Addlemore. I love him so much and make no mistake about that but he willingly joined Gellert as one of his soldiers and already killed many muggleborn people. I cannot have a murderer for a son. When my Eliza died in labour I was more heartbroken then you will ever know. I vowed from then on to always love and protect Gaston as much as I could. However I failed in my endeavour somewhere along the line. He has always been much loved and I have given him everything he has ever asked me for within reason. I do not pander to children and this idea of them having everything they want always is not good. Yes I gave Gaston whatever he wanted but he only ever got it when I said he could have it which was rarely at the time that he actually asked for it. I had thought I was teaching him respect and honour but I failed. To my darling Gaston I love you and I am sorry but I will not have an evil son.

Spooner has been out to the house searching for anything dark but I am not my son and he will not find anything. In fact Albus had sent him here accusing me of being dark and he was most disappointed to find nothing remotely dark here. Quite frankly Albus' head is getting a bit too big for him. He let me down for the last time of which I shall never be able to forgive him. Gellert even sent Albus to try and recruit me but Albus is naïve. I can see he doesn't yet realise that he is being used and for that I am sorry for him. When he learns of it he will be devastated but he does have only himself to blame. We tried to tell him numerous times and he simply didn't want to hear it. When someone spends so long being stubborn and not listening to the opinions of others ever something bad is gonna happen. I don't care anyway. I refused Gellert and I am still holding the odd Soiree. Lady Shafiq is as wonderful as she always was. I am not a perfect man nor did I claim to be but while Lord Shafiq is out of the country we needed to amuse ourselves and have done so. Safia is a wonderful dancer and has taught me many things.

Never underestimate a woman because that is not only incredibly foolish but ridiculous as well. Plenty of women I know could outclass me in a duel and it is something I am actually proud of as it shows they would be well able to take care of themselves if necessary. Please if you have a daughter train her to duel perfectly so she may always protect herself when you're not there. As for girls and daughters they need to be left alone to grow with little to no influence. Tell her how you feel and leave it at that. I have seen far too many pureblood fathers try to smother and control their daughters under the guise of protecting them when really it only alienates them from their children further. They do this all of their lives and then wonder like fools why they lose them at seventeen. We need to show love and understanding always as much as we can. The reality of the situation is that all families fight. It wouldn't be normal if they didn't. Just remember to choose your battles and all will be well.

As for my views on muggleborn people I know you will ask for them and here it is. In our world we are sorely lacking the modern innovations of the muggle world. To be honest we just don't know how they work and they would be useless here. The Muggleborn people do not often understand this getting angry and it causes tension because most of the stupid Purebloods in our society cannot see that they don't get it. Instead of calmly explaining everything to them they elect to be violent and discriminate for no good reason something I cannot abide by. If you have a problem then express that problem calmly. I don't love Muggleborn people and I never claimed to either but I respect them as people who can also do magic and I really don't feel it is up to me or any other pureblood anywhere to decide if they should be allowed to practice magic or not. They were born that way and cannot help it and we should not ask them to apologise for this great gift they've been given. I am not stupid enough to forget the statue of secrecy and why it is needed like so many of the other fools. I am a pureblood and proud of it but have no time for pureblood bigots of any kind.

As for you please do whatever you feel is necessary. I would prefer it if you did not demolish the house as I like it very much. The password for the house unless you have changed it is Addlemore Residence which you will no doubt know by now if you are reading this letter. It suits it just fine in my opinion. I would like to think the next Addlemore Lord is not lazy with a house elf but if that is the case then so be it. Long life and happiness to you in all things.

Signed

Lord Miles Benjamin Addlemore.

Tom read it and was shocked. So Albus Dumbledore had been screwing around even then had he? It would seem he killed his sister or something like it and it would seem that Aberforth Dumbledore had turned bitter because of it. Hearing that Albus had done some of the recruiting for Gellert before realising he was bad and defeating him was stunning. He'd not known Albus was gay something which made Tom shudder deeply. He would have to observe him closer than he originally had planned but he was happy. He could use some of this information against him later on and he wouldn't be able to see where he was getting this information from. This was genius. Thank you old Lord Addlemore he thought to himself with a smirk. He called for Lolly and had her take him to the manor. He had already charmed Petunia and Vernon to say to anyone who should ever ask about Harry that he's a shy and quiet boy who loves to read in his room. Most people accepted that answer anyway so it was all good. Dumbledore's people who he still had watching over Tom saw him all week anyway and figured if he wanted the weekends to himself all was good.

They arrived in the hallway which looked way cleaner and as though she'd repainted it with fresh paint which he wouldn't put it past her to think to do. They walked into a door he'd not seen by the stairs before but that as Lolly explained had been because it was so dirty that it hadn't stood out. They entered an informal lounge. The formal party lounge was huge and could be a ballroom when needed. It was also spotless. The cloakroom was now spotless too and the parasols which had been inside were now spotless. Beside it was a downstairs bathroom which looked very lovely. It wasn't huge but contained just a toilet and sink with a mirror and some minor decoration. They reached the downstairs long hallway which ran to the left and right of the stairs the entire length of the house. They turned left first. It was clear that Lolly liked being able to show him around and demonstrate her work. They entered the stunning music parlour which had floor to ceiling windows and plenty of light. There was a harp to one side while a harpsichord rested on the one wall and a grand piano was in the centre of the room. There were various couches situated for people to sit in and admire the music. She led him over to a wall which suddenly had a doorknob in it from out of nowhere. This hidden room would only show itself to him and anyone else he actually wanted to see it.

This hidden doorway led into a fully stocked and ready for use Potions lab which was situated in the base of the round tower at the edge of this side of the manor. Coming back into the music room he went over to the harp sat down and began to play a nice melodious tune on it. It sounded wonderful and Lolly clapped for her master. She'd always loved when he played his instruments before and had missed the sound. He smiled at her feeling such joy radiating through him as he carefully plucked at the correct strings. It was very distracting for him and he knew he could spend hours in here if Lolly didn't remind him that they needed to see the rest of the house. He sighed reluctantly putting the harp back and getting up once more. They walked down the hallway past the turn towards the stairs and came upon the formal dining room which contained a long state like stable and chairs going the length of the room. In the centre of the table were some fresh flowers and cabinets of silver and gold wares aligned some of the walls. It was very fancy looking. There was no sense in laying the table when no one would be coming for dinner and then the plates would get dusty for no reason. There was a fireplace in one corner too which he knew once lit would make this formal room so cosy. They moved next door to the informal dining room which had a couch in it on one side and a small round table with four chairs. There was also some less fancy flowers in a vase on this table. The room had great pictures on the wall and through the large windows in it one could see the quidditch pitch something which made Tom Junior very excited. Riding a broom would be so cool.

Next door they came upon the kitchen with attached pantry which was bright and spacious and nice enough for Lolly to be getting on with the cooking or washing of the clothes as and when she would need to do so. The final door they came to led to another bathroom only this one had a bath and a shower in it. Again Tom found another hidden room in the base of the other round tower which turned out to be the duelling room. He was very impressed indeed. This room had a huge stone dais in the centre of it and was littered with weapons of all kinds strapped on to the walls and dummies placed here and there throughout the room. It had a few mirrors in it too. It made so much sense to have it near the bathroom as you'd wash yourself after training in here and breaking out a sweat. They walked back to the hall with the stairs in it and climbed them deciding to take first the stairs which went off to the left. On the left hand side he found three reasonably sized guest bedrooms with the third guest room also housing a secret room in the top part of that round tower. This room revealed itself to be an indoor arboretum something which made Tom very happy. He loved plants so much. There was already so many moving plants and flowers in here. He was in heaven. He had always found plants to be an escape for him. Going back down the corridor and passing by the stairs they came to two bathrooms for the guests as they turned towards the stairs. Both of these bathrooms were perfect guest bathrooms if he ever had friends to stay in the future something both Toms were thinking about seriously .

Moving back into the long hallway and turning right he entered the first door on the right hand side which was a huge two story library. It had various turrets of the roof on the ceiling. It was full floor to ceiling of different books and even had a main desk to study on if one needed to. There was a couch in front of a fireplace in the centre of the room making it cosy and a large sliding ladder on wheels meant that books which were high up could easily be accessed. He could tell he'd be spending much of his time in here. Next door he entered the master bedroom and smiled. It looked amazing in here. There was a huge four poster curtained king sized bed in the middle of the room with bedside lockers on either side of it. In front of the bed were some steps leading down into a conservatory style addition to the room which contained a few armchairs, side tables, plants and a fireplace. There was a globe of the world bar beside one of the chairs and the place was covered in bright floor to ceiling windows which could black out at any time when sleep was needed. From there; there was a door leading to out outer balcony where you could view the entire back of the property in all its glory. Tom asked for a glass of lemonade and elected to sit on the outside chairs of the balcony as he slowly watched the sunset. He asked Lolly to view it with him and she was only too happy to see it. It coated the entire sky in a gorgeous orange style hue.

He came back into the bedroom and saw another door to one side. He entered it to find a spacious walk in closet with another door at one end which led to the huge master bathroom. This bathroom was amazing with a large two person shower which had a rain shower head in it. It looked very inviting. There was also a two person Jacuzzi tub, toilet and double sink with vanities attached. Yet again he found another of those hidden doors which lead to the upper section of the final round tower. Opening the door and stepping up the three steps there he entered his office with a huge smile. It didn't have any windows or anything just a lot of internal light but he assumed it was in order to keep whatever he did in here private. He really appreciated all of these secret rooms. Without knowing where they were you would just assume it was a normal manor not extraordinary like it was. He loved how cunning those hidden doors were as you'd not think to look for them and he loved it. When he'd first come to the manor he'd known it had those rooms but hadn't actually seen them as he'd not looked around properly. The office was round with wooden panelling on all of the walls. There was what appeared to be a blank painting but when he touched the frame of it, it took a quick one time sample of his blood and suddenly he could see inside any room in the house whenever he needed to. He would just need to call out show me and then the room he wanted to see. It was rather cool. He frowned. Why wasn't gaunt Manor this cool? It had a huge solid mahogany desk with a luxurious leather padded rolling chair behind it. On the front of the desk was a built in writing desk complete with hidden drawers and compartments.

In front of the desk were two cosy armchairs facing it with another globe bar in between them and two end tables on either side of them. There was a nice fireplace to the right and behind the desk were various shelves filled with different documents, books and notes of importance relating to the family. He was starving and just as he had that thought Lolly told him his dinner was ready. He went downstairs and smiled when he saw his favourite meal on the table. Steak cooked medium with a side of pepper sauce which he could pour on himself if he wanted any of it, some fried mushrooms, steamed broccoli and buttery mashed potatoes. It had been Tom senior's favourite dish and Tom junior loved it too. He sat down with his lemonade still in his hands from earlier and put it on the table as he tucked into his dinner. By the end of the meal in which he'd eaten some treacle tart for desert he was exhausted and headed up to bed falling asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow.
