"What is going on?" Percy asked. "Zoё?"
Zoё was silent. Her eyes showed nothing but guilt.
Kronos cleared his throat. "Sea Storm, I gave you a choice. To join me and watch the rise of the new Golden Age. You could've joined my general and his daughters in a lavish life. But you said no. And now, you will watch as the Golden Age rises with the sun, but you won't experience it. May the Hesperides sing at your funeral." Kronos finished his monolog and turned to his army of monsters. "Get him."
Two cyclops made their way forward, smacking their clubs against their palms. Percy unzipped his pocket and pulled out Riptide. He uncapped the pen, and swung the sword at one of the cyclops. The cyclops blocked the strike with his club, and struck at Percy's head.
Percy ducked under the swing, and jabbed his sword through the cyclops' leg. The cyclops fell to a knee. He pulled the sword free, and ducked under a swing from the other cyclops. The club struck the first cyclops in the head, and Percy took the opportunity to stab the sword through the first cyclops' head.
The cyclops turned to dust, and Percy turned to cyclops number two. The cyclops went for an overhead strike, bringing the club down towards Percy's head. Percy sidestepped, and cut off the hand of the cyclops. The cyclops screamed in pain, a scream that was cut off, just like his head.
"Bravo, Sea Storm. You killed two small cyclops. Now, how about a titan?" Kronos said with false glee.
Percy heard thunderous footsteps behind him. He turned around to see Atlas, and then his fist. He couldn't block it, and the punch knocked him right out.
LINE BREAK
Percy woke up in an unknown room. He groaned as he felt a migraine pounding in his head. He went to move his hands to rub his head but he found out that he was in fact tied up. He was tied to a chair, and his arms were tied behind him. It seemed like it was normal rope, which was kind of insulting, not going to lie.
He looked around. The room itself was unique. The walls were designed like it was part of Poseidon's castle in Atlantis. Decorated with seashells, and wave designs painted on them just screamed something Poseidon would design.
The only people besides him in the room were Zoё and Hercules. Hercules, like the cyclops, had a wooden club. Zoё only had a knife. She was flipping it with her fingers as she stood at the doorway.
"Babe, he's awake." Hercules said.
"Don't call me babe." Zoё snapped. "One more time and I'll cut your fucking dick off."
"Feisty. It'll be nice to conquer that fire."
Zoё gripped her knife so tightly that her knuckles turned white.
"Besides. Why shouldn't I call you babe? You're mine after all. Kronos promised you to me."
"I'm not yours. I'm not anyone's."
"Not even that brat, Perky?" Hercules said, before whispering, "Like those tits."
Even Percy flinched at the glare Zoё was giving the dumbass. "I'm dating him. He does not own me."
"When he's gone, you'll be dating me."
"Who said that he'll be gone?"
"Kronos. He's going to get rid of the brat, and you're my reward for helping him. Besides, you're lucky. Who could possibly be better than me?"
Zoё knocked him to the ground. She straddled him as she held the knife to his throat.
"Kifeplay? Kinky."
She pushed the knife closer to his throat, drawing blood. "This is the closest you are ever getting to feeling me." She said before getting off of him.
Then she went to Percy.
"Babe, what are you doing?" Hercules asked, putting a hand to his now bleeding neck.
She smirked at him as she sat in Percy's lap.
"For once, I'm with the douche. What are you doing?" Percy asked.
Zoё turned to Percy. She leaned into him, whispering into his ear. "Trust me."
She turned back to Hercules. "What? Never seen a girl cuddling her boyfriend?"
Hercules had a confused look on his face. Zoё smirked once again as she reached up. She grasped the top of Percy's mask before pulling it off. Percy's eyes widened as he realized he was no longer seeing through lenses.
"JACKSON! You! You're Sea Storm?!" Hercules started laughing. "I can't believe it. You? Of all people. This has to be a joke."
"It is no joke." Zoё said. "I'm dating a superhero. And he is who could possibly be better than you."
'Holy shit, I'm being used in a pissing contest.' Percy thought. He internally groaned. She just revealed his identity to someone who obviously didn't know, plus she was working for the titan who wants to restart one of the worst times for humanity. He really needed to reevaluate this relationship.
"Him? You really choose that twat when you could have this package?" He tapped his hip a couple of times.
Zoё shrugged. "Not really into three millimeter defeaters. I've heard the stories."
Hercules and Zoё seemed to have switched emotions, as Hercules was now pissed and Zoё was happy. Hercules' face was red with rage. Zoё hopped off of Percy and drew her knife. Hercules brandished his club.
Zoё ran at Hercules, slashing at his leg. Her knife connected, cutting his flesh. He howled in pain, before swinging his club at Zoё. She was knocked to the side, pain flaming in her sides. Hercules took his time to approach Zoё, arrogant in his approach.
Zoё stood up, and thrust her knife into Hercules chest. Hercules smacked Zoё, knocking her to the ground. The knife was still lodged in his chest. He pulled it out, blood leaking through the newly opened seal.
Percy watched the fight, before realizing that he was in fact, a big dumb idiot. He could burn the ropes. He had just gotten fire powers from Hestia. He felt the rope with his pointer finger, and concentrated on a small flame burning on his fingertip.
He felt the rope tying his hands loosen as it was burned. He moved to the ropes tying him to the chair, being sure not to burn his skin. He didn't know if fire could burn him, but he'd rather not find out through trial and error.
The rope snapped free, and he stood up. He reached into a pocket and pulled out one of his pens. He uncapped it to release his trident. He held it in front of him as Zoё stabbed Hercules in the head.
Zoё turned to him. Percy didn't lower the trident, keeping it leveled at her. She looked at the trident with distaste.
"Didn't I say to trust me?" She asked.
"Yeah, well, you also seem to be backing Kronos, and seem to have sold me out to him, so right now, my trust in you has taken a hit."
Zoё sighed. "What do you want me to say?"
"Everything. I want everything that is going on, from the beginning."
Zoё took in a deep breath as she started her explanation. "As you know, Atlas is my dad."
Percy nodded.
"And he is a Titan. The same one from the stories. Which makes me a Hesperide. And because of this-" She pulled out her knife, to which Percy stiffened and held his sword up. She didn't go to attack him, but instead her palm. She held it up for him to see as golden ichor flowed from her cut. "- I am immortal."
She motioned to her palm with her unwounded hand. "Could you, ya know?"
"Sure." He lamented. He summoned some water and healed her cut.
"For most of my life, I, along with my sisters, were trapped in the Garden of the Hesperides, with no way of escaping. Our father was trapped under the sky in the same garden. We were trapped for millennia, stuck in the small garden, doing nothing but laying around. Until Kronos came. He finished off Ouranos, freeing our father, and also freeing us. And then he moved to the Gods. He killed each one, one at a time."
"So you support Kronos because he freed you?" Percy asked. It wasn't accusatory, but fact.
"I don't want to. My father supports him, and forces me to."
"So, that's why you were with them in the church."
"They told me that they would leave you alone. That they would only go after Sea Storm, and leave you alone. But if I declined, then I'm sure they would suspect something. So I had to go along with it. I was going to tell you when we got to the garden, but, well, here we are."
She hoped he believed her. Not only because it was the truth, but because she couldn't be free if he didn't help. She needed him now, more than ever. She couldn't handle an entire little rebellion that was just her. Even he couldn't do that. But together, they could stand a chance.
Percy was silent as he pondered his thoughts. He lowered the trident. "I'll trust you for now, but we're talking about this later."
Zoё breathed out a sigh of relief.
"So, where are we?" Percy asked.
"Olympus. Poseidon's temple. Kronos told us to take you here and keep you until just before dawn. Then to take you to Hera's Garden so you could watch the sunrise. Then he was going to kill you, and start the Golden Age."
"So where do we go?"
"I say if we go to the throne room. From there, I can get us to the exit."
"Let's go." Percy put on his mask. He reached into his pocket and pulled out Riptide. He handed it to Zoё. "Take this. It's better than just a knife."
Zoё took the pen, uncapping it.
They walked through the streets of Olympus, creeping slowly so they didn't get ambushed. They were careful as they opened the doors to the throne room.
They looked in awe of the magnitude of the room. There was only one throne left, one made of silver. A bow and a quiver sat on the armrest.
"So where to from here?" Percy asked.
Zoё was about to answer when the wooden doors opened. "Where do you two think you're going?"
They turned to see Kronos and Atlas entering the throne room. They both wore cruel smiles on their faces. Kronos gripped his scythe while Atlas held a spear.
Percy turned to Zoё. "You want my trust back, take your father while I deal with Papa Time over there."
She nodded, gripping Riptide.
"Fair plan. But we are Titans. You think yourself strong enough to defeat us?" Kronos asked.
"We're gonna try." Percy muttered.
They took on their opponents, Percy's trident clashing with Kronos' scythe. Percy held onto the trident with both hands, holding it like one of those bars you see at the gym, the ones that the people use to bench weights. Kronos' strike was stopped in the middle of Percy's hands, the blade only an inch from his nose.
Percy took a step back. Kronos lost his balance a bit, but regained it before it could become a liability. Percy stabbed with his trident, straight at Kronos' chest. Kronos blocked it with his scythe, locking the trident with the shaft of the scythe.
Percy twisted the trident, knocking the scythe out of Kronos' hand. It landed on the floor a few feet away. Percy took the opportunity to charge at the Titan, but Kronos swatted him away.
Percy landed a few feet away, wind knocked out of him. He landed on his stomach, and he was facing Zoё and Atlas. She was holding her own, with minimal cuts on both people. She would block her dad's spear, and then slash at the wooden handle. Percy saw her strategy, and noted it down.
Percy got up, breathing heavily. He picked up his trident, just in time to block a strike from Kronos. He slashed the handle of the scythe, making a cut in it. It was thin, but it was a start.
Kronos backstepped. Percy lunged forward, stabbing with the trident. He realized the trick too late. Kronos whirled the scythe around, striking Percy in the face with the handle of the scythe. He stumbled to the side, using the trident to help him stand. Kronos took the scythe and cracked him over the back with it.
Percy fell to the ground once again. He rolled over as Kronos brought down the scythe. He missed, since Percy moved. Percy got up and kicked the Titan Lord. Kronos took a couple of steps back.
Percy ran at Kronos, swinging the trident at his head. Kronos raised his hand, stopping the strike, before kicking Percy back at full force. It was so strong that Percy went flying through the room, broke through the doors, and landed in a fountain outside the throne room.
Kronos strolled through the wrecked doors, towards the fountain. Percy laid in the fountain, waiting to make his appearance. Kronos struck the side of the fountain, breaking the barrier that kept the water in. The water flowed out, along with Percy.
He stabbed Kronos in the leg. The three prongs turned Kronos' leg into a swish kebab. Kronos howled in pain, before ripping the trident out of his leg. Ichor streamed out of the leg, mixing with the fountain water.
Kronos grabbed Percy before throwing him into a nearby wall. The wall broke under the force of Percy crashing into it. The rubble landed on top of Percy. He grimaced in pain as he felt the weight of everything on top of him.
He tried to push up, but couldn't. He fell back to the ground, everything crashing onto him once again.
"Come on. Come on. Come on." He muttered the mantra to himself as he tried again. "Come on. Come on."
He pushed up, barely getting high enough to crawl out. As soon as he could realize that he was out from underneath all of the rubble, the scythe's blade struck the ground next to his face.
Kronos pulled the blade out of the ground, before aming again for Percy's head. Percy rolled over, kicking Kronos' wounded leg. Kronos fell onto one knee, giving Percy a second to see his trident near the fountain. He ran over to it, picking it up.
He barely had any time to duck as he heard a blade spinning through the air heading straight for his head. The blade missed, but caught on his mask, tearing half of it off. Percy watched as the scythe impaled a wall, part of his mask hanging from the blade.
He felt the side of his face missing the mask. He was exposed. He couldn't face Kronos now, he would know for sure who he was.
"What's wrong, Sea Storm? Don't want to show your face? Don't worry. You don't have to hide your face from me, Percy Jackson."
Percy turned slowly. "You knew?"
Kronos' evil grin returned. "Of course I knew. What, you think everything that has happened to you was random? That you just had a bad stroke of luck? Did you really think that the fire was an accident? Blemmyae, while stupid, are easy to command."
"You knew. You knew! YOU KNEW!" Percy's anger rose with every word.
He charged at Kronos, summoning water around him. He fashioned a sword of water, freezing it into ice. He stabbed at Kronos' chest with the trident, and slashed his good leg with the sword. Kronos grabbed the trident, flipping it over his shoulder. Percy held onto the trident, flipping with it.
Percy landed on his back, and a pain grew in his arm. He looked over at it and his eyes widened. He was ninety nine percent sure that his arm wasn't supposed to bend that way.
He got up, his right arm pretty much useless now. He still had the ice sword in his left arm, so he still had a chance.
Kronos thrust his hand out, and the scythe flew from the wall into his hand. Percy had to duck to avoid being decapitated. Percy summoned some more water to create a shield on his right arm. He could use it to defend, at the very least. It was awkward, since this was the opposite of what he was used to.
Kronos was the first to strike. He slashed with the scythe. Percy blocked with the shield, before slashing at Kronos' arm, drawing ichor. The Titan hissed, before withdrawing his blade.
Percy attempted to slash at Kronos' face, but Kronos blocked with the handle of his scythe. Percy remembered what Zoё had been doing and got an idea. He started to move the blade back and forth slowly.
Kronos was confused. What was this guy doing? It wasn't until the handle was fully sawed through and the blade heading straight for his chest that he realized.
The blade didn't penetrate far into Kronos' chest, but it definitely had an effect. Ichor dropped from the cut, stinging slightly. He dropped the part of the scythe that didn't have the blade on the ground.
Percy stepped back into the water that was still leaking from the fountain. He bent his broken arm back into place, letting the water do the rest. Kronos had to step closer to attack now, since his range had been cut in half.
Kronos stepped into the water. Percy kept backing up while Kronos followed. Percy stepped into the fountain, the water falling onto him. Kronos approached, before he tripped. Percy acted, forming bonds of water to keep the titan down. They went around his limbs and neck, keeping him pinned down.
Percy wrestled the scythe out of Kronos' hand, and stood over him. Kronos seemed to realize that it was the end for him.
"This is a mistake you are making! I cannot die to the likes of you, a lowly demigod! I AM KRONOS, THE KING OF TITANS, LORD OF TIME! YOU SHOULD'VE JOINED ME!" Kronos raged.
Percy gripped the scythe tightly. "Should've asked me before you killed my mother."
One strike and the cruel golden glow of Kronos' eyes was extinguished.
Percy watched as the body of the Titan Lord faded out of existence, gone forever. He watched as the wounds on his body healed from the water. His arm was getting better but he was sure it would still be a while before it was better.
Suddenly, he remembered. "Zoё!"
He rushed up the stairs, reaching the throne room. It looked like the fight was near the end. Zoё had climbed up onto the silver throne, the bow and arrow in her hands. Arrows stuck out of Atlas, making him look like a porcupine.
Zoё seemed to glow silver, along with the arrow she released, It hit Atlas in the forehead, and he fell onto his back. She climbed down with the grace of a hunter, and drew Riptide. SHe approached him, and noticed he was still alive.
"Girl, I am your father. You respect me." Atlas grit out.
"You were a terrible one. I never respected you." She said, before swinging the sword and decapitating Atlas.
Percy had just reached them to see the final blow struck. Zoё turned to see Percy.
"We lived." She said.
Percy blinked. "Yeah." His face broke out into a smile. "Yeah, we did. Didn't we?"
"So, you trust me?" Zoё asked.
"Yeah, I do."
She handed him Riptide back. "It's yours. Besides, I have this now." She gestured to the bow.
Sunlight started to peek through the throne room doors.
"C'mon. I know a great place to see the sunrise." Zoё said, grabbing his hand. "We can still catch it."
She took him to a garden, one with a bunch of statues. Hera's Garden.
"You're not going to kill me are you? That would suck, since I just killed Kronos." He was joking, but there was a hidden worry in his words.
She smiled. "I'm not going to kill you. Look." She pointed at the sunrise.
Percy looked.
"Beautiful, isn't it?"
"Yeah." Percy breathed out. "I can think of something more beautiful though." He said, turning to her.
She blushed, keeping her eyes on the sunrise. Percy turned to it, hugging her close to him.
The sun rose on Christmas Day, and the world was still in the current age.
A/N. Alright, so I hoped that cleared up most of the mysteries and questions you guys have. The next chapter will be the epilogue, which I have already started, and is already almost 2k+ words. So, I hope you guys enjoy that.
We saw secrets finally get revealed this chapter, so that was nice.
If you're wondering about the army of monsters, they dealt with that after the sunrise. I wanted to end it on the sunrise scene, so I cut the part where they dealt with that.
Thank you to Zaeng_ for editing this once again.
