Here is the next chapter. For future reference Tom Senior is Tom Riddle and Tom Junior is Harry Potter. For the purposes of ease in this story Tonks will be in her third year now not her last one. Please read and review thanks, love Angel x

Lucius entered the records office at the ministry and requested the required files relating to those families. He was stunned to discover that these families were around before the dark lord was even born yet he wanted to know about them none the less. It was clear to him that this was a real test if he wanted to know about people who were around before he'd even been born. He'd need to try his best but as the dark lord didn't truly know them maybe he wouldn't. He would need to see what happened when he searched. He started off with looking up Gaston William Addlemore as requested and noted down that He'd gone missing in France in nineteen thirty five and had been presumed dead for a while until he was found to be living in London with a family. He was still alive today. He ran a book store there in Karkitt Market and had one wife and four children although he no longer went by the last name of Addlemore. He now used the last name of Riddle which had been granted to him by a Lord Riddle shortly before the said lord went to America to begin working with MACUSA. He was content with his existence and didn't look for anything from his father since the man had died. It said his father had died in the twenties at some stage and disowned him before doing so.

There was even a note of Albus Dumbledore trying to get them to overturn his expulsion from his family however it was also noted that as it was familial business and he was not family that his attempt at meddling in things which were not his concern were to be ignored by the clerk dealing with the records at the record office. When he had asked about the Shafiq family he was surprised as they'd had so many children. Oussema Shafiq was now seventy nine years old and ran a famous taverna called La Fantasia in Moonlight Avenue which he often frequented with his wife. It was in a secluded upmarket area off Diagon Alley that many purebloods went to. La Fantasia required a two month booking process to even get a seat there. Oussema it would seem had made a huge success of it. He was married to his wife Miriam and they had four children Amir, Saleem, Aaliyah and Hana. He chuckled at the ridiculous names as he'd never have given Draco a name like that. His twin brother Ahmed worked as a financial advisor to the ministry and travelled internationally often. He had a wife Salina and a daughter Amina. Their younger sister Amira never married as she wasn't into that. She spent her life teaching Transfigurations in Beauxbatons Academy where she was still a well-loved teacher today.

They had had three other younger siblings who were triplets. Abdallah, Tariq and Karina were their names. They were all married with children of their own. The older Shafiq parents had died in the sixties relatively close to one another from Dragon Pox. Lucius secretly cursed his dark lord in his head as he compiled his report. He had better things to be doing with his time and didn't really give two shits about these people and their lives. At least these people it would seem could afford the many children they had unlike the Weasley's. Thinking of that family gave him a headache so he thought the better of it with a sneer. He'd been furious he'd been threatened in relation to Draco. How dare the dark lord question him on how he'd raised his own son? It wasn't his fault Draco always threw tantrums. They'd asked him time and again not to but he didn't want to listen to them. What were they to do now? It wasn't fair that he was being lumbered with the care of his own son now. He'd done the best he could. Why couldn't Hogwarts just deal with him? He was a busy man and didn't have time for his son to be messing around right now. Perhaps a strongly worded letter would do the trick. He'd need to write it now. He got out his supplies and wrote his letter.

Dearest Draconis,

I am as you know a busy man and was disappointed to hear you were acting out in school. Unless you are alone and sure you will NOT be caught do not express your feelings freely. We don't know who could be listening or not. What is this I've heard about you throwing tantrums? I thought we'd agreed they were going to have to stop Dragon. Please remember that when you attend school you carry the weight of the Malfoy name and everything which comes with it on your shoulders and do not disappoint me again. You have one last chance! I will not tell your mother about this as I do not wish her to worry unnecessarily. You had better straighten up and fly right or I may decide that it's time for your mother and I to give you a sibling. I love you my son but I don't want to hear complaints about you again. I don't have the patience to listen to some stupid whelp prattle on to me about how bad my son is. Get great grades. I have asked Professor Snape to send me a personalised report card so I will know if you don't do well in a subject and which subject it is. Try your best it is after all, all I can truly ask of you.

Your father,

Lucius Malfoy.

He wrapped up the letter tying it to the leg of his eagle owl and sent it off. Maybe this would be enough to get the dark lord off his back. He didn't know of course that Tom would be beside Draco when he got that letter during the feast with the evening mail and that he too would read it without Draco noticing him do it either. He would see the slight against him in it with Lucius referring to him as a stupid whelp and it wouldn't go unpunished for he had been the one to complain about Draco. Elsewhere after dinner Hermione walked down to the dungeons and knocked on Professor Snapes door. Enter he called out as she pushed open the door and stepped inside.

"Miss Granger may I assist you? Are you lost?" he asked casually.

"No I'm not lost I have detention with you now" she said sullenly.

"What is this detention for exactly? Did you answer too many questions and pass out from lack of breathing properly?" he sneered as she shuddered.

"No I didn't. I was desperate to sit beside Tom Potter and in my haste I picked that stupid girl Delia Greengrass or whatever it is out of her chair and threw her on the floor so I could take her seat. I didn't truly mean it but I was stressed and desperate to sit beside him and didn't care what I did to get it either!" she said honestly as his scowl deepened.

"I see. Just because Daphne Greengrass is better than you at something doesn't mean you can resort to physical assault to solve whatever problem it is you think you had with her!" he sneered at her.

"But sir I just didn't want her sitting beside Tom ever! Other than that she did nothing wrong although I forgot her name was Daphne. She's not better than me anyhow as I've made sure no one can be. I am the best there is or at least I will be once school for me ends at age seventeen!" she said as he got an idea for her detention and smiled evilly.

"You will wait for me and I shall be back!" he said leaving to prepare some tea for them both. He made hers in a lilac coloured mug which he laced with truth serum. He'd be asking her some questions and getting the truth. This would be fun.
