Everyone in Slytherin had been given an unblocking potion including Severus but they were all made to forget having taken it afterwards. It did take three days to make sure everyone was seen to but Lolly managed remarkably and it was more than obvious that something had changed within Slytherin as all their grades had gone up by one point but then again they'd been seen in the library studying more and both the headmaster and the Professors were all happy with the progress. He'd done it in such a way that it wasn't entirely obvious but simply showed they were putting in more effort. If only the same could be said now about their appearances. Marcus Flint looked like he'd fucked a troll repeatedly and if anyone lit any candles near Draco Malfoy the whole house itself would probably go up in flames he used that much products on his head. He'd never been vein himself so he didn't really understand how someone like Draco could care so much about he looked and still look awful. I mean he actually cared about his appearance so how was it that he still managed to look a bit like a diseased peacock.

Lolly had informed him that a house elf was following him for spying purposes and Sooty had managed to ban said house elf from the master's lodgings where he and Daphne resided. Tonight though he'd be in the Hufflepuff lodgings with Nymphadora for the first time. She'd actually been thoroughly amused by his response to her name as it was not the normal one she received usually. Sooty also insured she couldn't get into the Hufflepuff lodgings either. The house elf in question Dotty could only enter the Slytherin common room and follow him around the school and he intended to be very boring and mundane to bore her into telling Hermione all he did was studying and not much of anything else. Sooty had told him that she had seen Miss Granger asking Dotty to spy on him and as Dotty was now her elf Dotty needed to comply. She had stated Dotty did say that there were better things she could be doing to help out with her time but that Miss Granger had insisted. It would seem Dotty was actually not comfortable with spying on him and had informed Hermione of it in a subtle way but was ignore.

Tom was learning so much about each house it was fascinating. Hufflepuffs for example loved loyalty and were exceptionally hardworking people however what one might not expect is that they tell it like it is. They don't have a filter. If something sucks they will tell you and with little regard for your feelings. He could see it was never done in a mean way more of a 'this is what I see and I'm telling you way'. When one of them he didn't know his name had said he couldn't find his hair gel someone else said Draco must have stolen it because of how ridiculous he looked. Draco then went to curse the boy who simply banished him away with a mildly powered stunner followed cunningly with a cushioning charm so he got his message across and didn't hurt Draco. Draco was so stunned that anyone from Hufflepuff could ever be cunning that he didn't even react properly. He just stood there like an idiot with his mouth hanging open in sheer awe. Tom informed him that he should close his mouth lest he catch flies which made him snap his mouth shut.

All houses could be cunning from time to time. He actually liked the Weasley twins. They did prank people but even he could see the genius behind the types of magic they were using. They had tried to approach him and Tom senior had used a mild truth telling spell to get them to spill their guts as to why they wanted to be his friend. They simply said they didn't care he was in Slytherin and wished to know him for who he was something which delighted him more than he cared to mention. They were soon becoming good friends and talked quite often in the library. It was the one place they could talk without judgement and they were actually very funny guys. He had managed to get them to spill their guts without magic and they told him everything about their grandparents and what had happened to make their mum hate Slytherin so much which was intriguing indeed to learn. Why should she make everyone else hate Slytherin though if she wasn't willing to ever tell anyone what had happened to her there. Why did she not get counselling or mind healing if you will? Why had she not sought help instead of turning bitter over a few fucked up Slytherins and why had said Slytherins tarnished the reputation of their whole house so much? She had been devastated beyond belief when Peter Pettigrew confessed to everything being his fault and had actually had a mild breakdown at the thought of a murderer ever having been in a house she loved so much and in turn made her kids love forcefully.

He had also learned that not only were they meant to be in Slytherin and had asked not to be put there but Percy was so overbearing that their mother regularly forgot they existed. He was fast becoming sick of Percy and he didn't really even know him all that well just that he was pretentious as hell or at least appeared to be that way and one needed to only look at him to see he hated everything about his hand me down everything. Cedrella had come and taken the twins and Ron to get new wands, trunks, pets and robes. She had called it a once in a lifetime gift that they should enjoy. Ron was told he could use Fred and George's owl should he need to write home or to any friends in the future. He wasn't allowed his own pet right now. When Molly found out she was furious but only because Percy had been excluded. Cedrella had then asked if she really thought he deserved them considering how much he looked down on his own father's job and the way they lived so constantly. Fred and George knew they were lucky to have a home and two wonderful parents and never minded how it looked because it was home and Molly had looked slightly ashamed when she said that. Fred and George never got good grades as far as she knew at least and so they were ignored often. Just because they didn't parade their O grades around like Percy did all the damn time did not mean they didn't get them. They were very content to keep things to themselves and did so often.

When Ron had been born he was a huge disappointment to Molly who couldn't hide that bitter disappointment he'd not been a girl and so he too was often overlooked. When someone has so many children it can be truly hard to pay attention to all of them so naturally Molly had favourites and Percy was only her favourite because of his excellent grades. When Cedrella had asked her if he deserved some new things she had wanted to scream out that he did of course deserve them but unfortunately one of her favourite sons did resent what Arthur did for a living. Tom listened to all this and allowed the twins to rant and even cry once. They got it all out of their systems and off their chests and were truly stunned when he didn't shun them. They were further stunned when he said things like letting go and all that from time to time was excellent for their mental health. They agreed with him that bottling up their feelings like that was detrimental for them as a unit as it affected negatively their twin bond. He had empathised with them because he had been largely ignored by his family too but that was because they didn't care at all about him. Molly did care for her sons in ways she just often forgot about them because she had too many children. When they had written to their mum stating they were friends with Tom Potter and he was lovely she wanted to send them a howler but got one herself from Cedrella before she could which made her cry. She didn't send them a howler but did tell them that they were not to come crying to her if anything bad came of such a friendship as she had warned them about Slytherin members previously.

Tom had asked Lolly to hide various galleons in amongst the twin's things which they could use in Hogsmeade Village. They had agreed to get him things from the village if and when he needed them. He had asked them for two multipacks of sugar quills and sour worms from Honeydukes which they had agreed to get. He gave them ten galleons and mentioned that he didn't know how much they cost. He instructed them to have a good day with whatever was left. They were left with six galleons the most they'd ever had at once and they immediately restocked their potions kits, got some sweets and a few butter beers too. It had been a wonderful trip to Hogsmeade and Tom was delighted with his new sweets. When Percy became too much a quick langlock which Severus had taught him silenced the idiot. "Percival you talk far too much and listen far too little. If you were truly smart you would consider doing so. Who I elect to spend my own free time with is my own business and you will not condescend to me again. In fact from now on you will and I repeat will keep to yourself and your own friends. I would suggest you get a life or a shag because you clearly need to loosen up big time. Get out of my damn face!" he snapped removing the spell and walking away as Minerva who had observed the encounter through an open door chuckled to herself. She realised she shouldn't have laughed but in fairness Percy had deserved it. She was stunned as a letter arrived on her desk just then from the last person she expected to be hearing from. This would be interesting indeed.
