I turned back and did my best to gather my stuff with the shackles around my wrists. Carter eventually came over and took over with rolling up my Matt and preparing my back. He helped me to doing it over my shoulder and we began walking down to the city below. We arrived just as the shops opened and the city streets were barely beginning to be filled.
This made it difficult to walk down the streets, but a small gasp from one of the villagers caused everyone to see Tarik's team and make a path for us. I could feel the fear cover the streets quickly like a foul stench from a muk rolling around. I looked at Tarik and his team that led us through the city to the guild. None of them seemed phased by the villagers and how they whispered about them. Because of them, none of the villagers paid any mind to me. They just looked forward and walked on like no one was there.
We arrived at the guild entrance and walked through the hallways until we entered the council's chamber. The council members stared at us as we entered, but the general wasn't in his head seat.
I instinctively knelt down to wait for them. Everyone else stood back and waited for the council to speak, but no one said a word. They all just stared at me. Even Korook just sat there and waited patiently.
There was a small awkward pause that settled until we heard the door behind us opened and we watched as General Hawl walked in with three other Pokémon following behind him. Two of them looked alike. Both had long sharp wings and long necks. They didn't have any feet or legs except some fur or feathers sticky out of the bottom. There was only two Pokémon who fit that description. The legendary duo Latios and Latias. One had a serious intense stare and the other one was soft and sympathetic. The third Pokémon looked familiar. It was a small pink orb. I don't know what the name of it was.
They settled themselves next the general and stared at me. Latios decided to break the tension first and spoke, "Why is he in chains? He shouldn't be chained."
I was very confused by his question as General Hawl shuffled in his seat like he was a little uncomfortable and answered, "He isn't what you may have expected, but please I believe it will be safe enough with us all in here."
Latios now had the confused look as Tarik came forward and unlocked my shackles. The pieces of iron fell to the ground and I folded my paws into my lap.
"For crying out loud! Stand up! We should be the ones bowing to you!" Latios yelled at me almost yelling me up with only his voice.
Latios' statement shocked both Tarik's and my team. What did he mean by that?
"I will not take order from Pokémon who stormed into my guild. I give no regard to your status of being legendary Pokémon. You do not make demands here!" The general yelled and slammed a fist into the arm of his chair. The force that he slammed into the chair caused a small crack to form, but the feeling and intense nature caused a chill to run down my spine.
I looked to Sir lance who didn't even look at me. He bore his head low and stared down at the floor, as if he was ashamed or wrong for something that he had done. I could feel a grey aura floating over him that felt like a dreary cloud. He twitched as he noticed me prodding at his aura. His stare was a look of failure and sadness. He was almost on the verge of tears as he stared back at me.
"Now let us get back to the point at hand." The general said, as if talking to himself to help re-center his thoughts on the meeting.
"We have heard small reports of your team succeeding in freeing the small village from the darkness that was choking it. Well done, but I can imagine that you all are questioning why Tarik and his team were sent to escort you home. The reason is because knowledge about Koro's origins has made him a valuable asset. To the point, that without him in our service this world will end."
A dark feeling fell over the room and rested itself on my shoulders. As everyone turned to stare at me, my lungs refused to pull air in. It didn't sound right and yet something in my mind clicked and agreed with the statement. I felt myself shake in fear, but I tried my best to stay standing.
"This is not in regard to his appearance in Grandon Village. This goes further back into his past." The General continued, but I cut him off, "You mean the part of my life of me being a human."
When the word human left my lips, Sir lance stared intensely at me. A mixture of fear and anger bored into me. I could feel the stares of my teammates behind me. Most were confused, but Katrina felt sad.
"So you knew and withheld the truth?" General Hawl asked.
"No- yes. I am not sure sir. I only just saw things on this mission. I don't know exactly how I got here or what it is I saw yet, but there is a part of my mind that is human. I still don't know for sure, sir."
"I can confirm it young hero. For we went to the meteor that you arrived on and saw your formation within it. With your mental remnants within it, we were able to slowly pinpoint where you were." The small pink sphere Pokémon floated forward and spoke.
Now I could see the connection. This was the orb from my dreams.
"Y-you invaded my dreams."
"I was trying to find you, but with how broken your mind is I must have also pulled some pieces back to you." She said.
"So, the human that was summoned by the world has become a monster of darkness and carnage. How hopeful for our cause." The heliolisk chimed in with her sarcasm and in it the dark dreary feeling in the room grew more and fell upon everyone else.
"He is no monster of the darkness. I have trained him to control it. We must remember that they just preformed a successful mission!" Sir Lance yelled.
This was a different Sir Lance that I knew. This one was letting his emotions free. He didn't dare to try and hide them. I saw his aura burn like a fire with different colors shimmering within it. There were too many emotions running through his heart and mind for him to contain it all at once.
