Tiffany's diary. November has come! It's been two months since Dr. Beckman took his sudden vacation. Today was the day he's supposed to come back, which I'm glad about.
These last two months have been rough, both at home and at work. It was awfully nice of Lynn to give me a paid week off. She didn't have to do that.
I've been keeping Howard up to date about Justin. When I see him today, I'm gonna tell him how the intervention went, as well as bring up that Joseph thing. I have no idea what it means, or if it means anything at all.
But needless to say: Justin's mental decline has officially hit rock bottom. He's been giving me the silent treatment for six days straight, which is a new record for him. He could barely go two hours without talking to me. Now, he's changed. Not only his personality, but his appearance too.
His hair is still black, he's been wearing those ugly clothes ever since Beckman left. I really hope he can help him. I'm gonna ask about our next therapy session. JD really needs it.
With all of the drama lately, the suicide attempts, the weird trances he's been going in, no doubt he's on the verge of being locked up in a place he doesn't need to be in. I don't want that, which is why I've been able to tolerate this for so long. Now, it's time...
Tiffany clocked in to work that afternoon. She knew this was the big day: the day when her boss would be making a big return from his two month-long vacation. He told her to come to his office ASAP on this day, which she happily did.
"Howard?" she said, tapping on the door to the top doctor's office.
It creaked open, showing that Beckman had returned from his vacation.
"Nurse Maye." he said, now having a more intimidating tone.
"H-Hey. Did you uh... Did you have a good vacation?" she asked, feeling the intensity of his attitude.
He nodded, still keeping his down time somewhat of a secret.
The blonde nurse looked at him, knowing that he was ready to take care of serious business.
"So, how's Mr. Justin been? Did the intervention go well?" the doctor asked.
She sighed, ready to disappoint her boss. "No. The intervention was a total disaster."
"I see."
"And he said something that I thought I should bring to your attention."
Beckman raised his head up, curious as to what she needed to say.
"Go on."
"Right before we finished, he said something odd. He said his name wasn't Justin Dark, but rather Joseph."
The doctor's head tilted, wondering what that might mean.
"Joseph?" Beckman asked.
"Yeah." Tiffany replied. "Joseph. He said his name was Joseph, then he darted off. Thankfully, he came back but he's given me the silent treatment for six days now. Do you know what this might be?"
The doctor grabbed a document out from his desk. He took a good look at it, making some sort of connection as to what this was all about.
"Nurse Maye, have you noticed a change in his voice?" he asked.
Tiffany took a moment to think, realizing that this was a recurring factor in her boyfriend's recent shift in tone.
"Y-Yeah. As a matter of fact, he has been changing his voice. I thought he was sick or something."
Beckman shook his head. He then looked at the document again, asking another question.
"Has he been in a hypnotic state, saying incomprehensible phrases as if he were in a trance?"
All of these questions rang so many bells.
"Y-Yeah." she answered, now getting a bit anxious as to what was really going on.
"And has he shown any acts of physical violence or talks of homicide?" the doctor asked one last question.
"I-I mean... He did break our TV last week. Does that count?"
Rather than answering her question, Beckman immediately cut to the chase.
"Nurse Maye, I'm excusing you from your shift for the next hour. I want you to go retrieve your boyfriend right now. I'd like to have a word with him..."
The fact that Dr. Beckman was acting so shady on his first day back raised a lot of questions. As much as she wanted to ask them, she knew he was serious. Even though JD was giving her the silent treatment, telling him the news that Beckman wanted to see him might snap him out of it.
"I'll.. I'll do that." she said, turning around.
"Fantastic. I'm gonna make a call." he said, grabbing the telephone and dialing a number.
Right before she left the office, he said one final word to her.
"Nurse Maye? Be prepared to have him committed for a few weeks."
She slowly nodded, knowing the time was about to come. This was all a part of the plan...
Tiffany drove to her house to get Justin, if that was even his real name. She had so many racing thoughts and a major thumping coming from her chest.
She came in, catching him off guard.
"Babe?" she said, seeing him in front of the TV.
He turned it off, not entirely happy to see her home after being at work for not even an hour.
"What are you doing here?"
She frowned, knowing what was about to go down.
"Beckman's back and he wants to have another therapy session."
The 23 year old was caught completely off guard. Shit! Beckman's back already? It's already been two months...
"Tell him to go fuck himself." he said, shifting to that voice that the blondie kept hearing underneath his usual one.
"Listen: If you don't come with me right now, I will leave you." she said, now giving him the big ultimatum that Audrey suggested.
"Leave me?" he exclaimed. "You wouldn't..."
Tiffany nervously grinned at him, knowing she had him right where she wanted him.
"I will if you don't come with me right now."
As much as he wanted to avoid seeing Dr. Beckman ever again, he knew that losing Tiffany in the process wasn't exactly a fair exchange. He begrudgingly got into her car, ready to have one last showdown with this sleazy doctor that may have been a spy sent from Greenseed.
They arrived, both with bad feelings in their guts. Tiffany had the feelings of worry that things wouldn't work out Justin, however, had the thought that something bad was about to happen.
He was led to the doctor's office, ready for his therapy session. However, this didn't feel like the other two. There was a major feeling of intimidation this time around. It felt more like a stand-off rather than a therapy session.
He sat on the couch in front of the top doctor's desk, ready to get it over with. She sat next to him, which the doctor didn't recommend.
"Nurse Maye? Could you please exclude yourself from this one? For your safety and mine." he said, telling his employee to leave the room.
She nodded, feeling bad that she had to break her promise to be there for each and every session.
The blondie left the room, closing the door right behind her. It was now the two of them, feeling like a cat and a mouse locked in a small room with each other.
The doctor looked at JD, 'admiring' his new hair color.
"So, Joseph? Care to explain what's going on?" Beckman asked, now referring to him by the mysterious name.
He clenched his fist, knowing damn well what was happening. He's trying to mess with my head. Your name is JUSTIN.
"That's not my fucking name." he said.
"Really?" the doctor replied. "Then explain why you told your girlfriend that was your name? Are you trying to hide something, Joseph K?"
Hearing the first letter of his last name now raised a lot of tension, as he wasn't supposed to know any of this information.
"You can fuck off of me. I know you work for THEM."
"Hmm... Do I now? As far as you're concerned, I know what Greenseed did to some poor 20-something year old last year. I know they implanted a lunatic into the innocent young man's head. And I know that when he hit his head on the coffee table a few months back, the lunatic gained more control and has been causing chaos for his family and friends."
Oh shit... HE'S GOT ME!
"Fuck you, Beckman. I know you're only trying to get rid of me so you can marinate my girl once I'm out of the picture." he said.
"Marinate?" the doctor rephrased. "What an interesting way to put such a thing. Marination of a young blonde woman? Is that your way of having some sort of release?"
JD's body began to sweat. This doctor, whoever he was, knew too much about him. He knew about some of the inhumane horrors of Greenseed.
"What do you want from me?" he said, now completely intimidated, ready to finally settle this once and for all.
"Hmm... What do I want? I want what you want, Sir: I want Tiffany."
The moment he said that, J sprung up from the chair, beginning to place his hands around the doctor's neck for talking about his girlfriend like that.
"KEEP MY GIRL'S NAME OUT YOUR FUCKING MOUTH!" he yelled, continuing to strangle Beckman for all of the sleazy things he's done in the last few months.
For some reason, it felt good to do this. The thrill of finally getting his hands on him for all of the shady things he had done ever since they first met. The numerous mentions of a terrible organization, the constant weird shit he'd say about his girlfriend. This was personal revenge. But deep down, he knew that this wasn't the way to go. But in that same moment, he could care less.
As he was blacking out, attempting to murder Dr. Howard Beckman, that was immediately quelled when he felt the jab of a needle going into his rectum.
"What the-?" he said, suddenly letting go of the doctor's throat. He then saw that the 'nosy intern', Reznik, had injected something into him.
"No..." J said, falling to the floor and beginning to pass out. The last thing he saw was the doctor and the nosy intern standing over him, as well as hearing the faint sound of Tiffany shrieking.
"T-Tiff..." he said, still in the process of being sedated. She walked in, kissing him on the cheek. Whatever was happening didn't seem good. It was almost like a betrayal...
Tiffany... I can't believe this...
Before he completely went under, he heard one last statement from one of their voices. It sounded like Beckman, though it was very hard to make out the context.
-gler, the patient is now sedated. He should be on -sport soon. He's -yours. Do whatever you have to do...
