Tom was amused as the whole school was without any help from him speculating on what The Order of The Phoenix was. Dumbledore was horrified as some people thought it was an evil cult and even nearly vomited when someone said the leader of it would probably kill you if you didn't do as he asked of you. When that student was asked why he had assumed it was run by a man he had responded that only a man would ever think a phoenix would be a cool association to lead people in. If it was a woman it would have been something crystal or beauty related. Most people spent the day talking about the order of the phoenix and what it could be and as the day wore on Albus became more and more worn out looking. People at the end of the day had started giving him weird looks and Minerva asked him what on earth was the matter?
He had explained that he didn't like people speculating on the order and he wished to put them all straight on what it was. He was absolutely furious people actually believed it to be a cult. He had proclaimed he wasn't evil but couldn't even defend his own order as everyone would then ask many questions he couldn't answer. It was like torture. Some people were even very afraid of the order and hoped they wouldn't be approached to join. Others had said if they were approached they'd go down fighting and take the bastard who ran it with them. When Severus overheard that he awarded the stunned student twenty house points for being so very intelligent. He had wanted to laugh but knew it wouldn't look good so settled for the high point gain. People had even speculated that this Lord Addlemore guy had been attacked by the order leader because he had steadfastly refused to join and the order leader couldn't make him do it.
Tom had plans for Lord Addlemore which would be put into place the next day. He was actually excited. He had since tied his Lord Addlemore persona to the Addlemore family ring. Once he tapped on the ring and said hello he would become Lord Addlemore. When he did the same and said goodbye he'd be back to normal. It did make his transformations easier. The next morning he woke up and entered Severus' office.
"Severus I have need of your floo. What is the address so I may floo back here later?" he asked as Severus gave him the address. He watched the transformation as Tom became Lord Addlemore and entered the floo coming out in Diagon Alley. He went over to Twilfitt and Tattings buying several fancy robes which he put his own Addlemore crest on. The shop owner was stunned but complied. An hour later it was done and he was at the ministry wearing his new robes. He entered the Wizengamot which was starting with a flourish.
"Is there any other business we need to attend to before we get the meeting underway?" Albus asked in his chief warlock role. This was his chance. Tom stood up as many people eyed him weirdly not recognising him.
"Good afternoon everyone. I wish to take my seat on the Wizengamot however a test I have taken at the bank revealed to me that I am actually the new Lord to two other houses I was not aware of before now so I will be claiming those house seats as well!" he said Albus blanched.
"And um which seats are they?" he asked sounding highly unsure of himself which made people look at him instead of Tom which he noticed with a smirk.
"Well as you may or may not know I am Lord Addlemore and I shall be claiming that seat. I also inherited the seats of Dravens and Peverell which I will be claiming today as well!" he said calmly as everyone started shouting at one another. The Peverell line was one of the only houses asides from the founder's houses, house of Emrys, Bones, Nott, Longbottom, Black and Potter which had access to ten votes total. All other houses could use five votes only. Even the Weasleys had a vote and Arthur often voted either via mail or in person. Lord Addlemore had essentially said he could now control ten votes and these votes would sway the court one way or another as he'd also use his Potter votes to get whatever he wanted passed. As he had in total thirty votes he could use if you counted all of the houses he was the lord of no one outranked him and he was now a force to be reckoned with. Albus sputtered in visibly heavy rage and outrage as he saw who the new Lord Peverell was. It was a disgrace as he realised hardly anyone else present knew the significance of that the stupid bastards. They only cared about the ten votes idiots! No one actually cared about what the names meant and that much was obvious.
"Well then step forward and place your hand on the leger of truth!" he commanded holding out a scroll which Tom placed his hand on. He glowed momentarily to show that he would tell the truth when asked the next few questions. Internally Tom smiled as he knew all about how to manipulate the leger of truth so he could tell the truth he actually wanted to and hide the truth he wanted no one to know such as his true identity. Dumbledore smiled because as the chief of the Wizengamot he could ask any questions here he wanted to and couldn't be questioned himself on it later on. It was the one liberty he loved taking. Man would this influential lord be answering some questions.
If you take seats on the Wizengamot which seat will you choose to sit in?
I will sit in the Addlemore seat as I have no desire to draw unwanted attention to myself and besides which this is easier for me. I feel I would best serve those knew lordships I inherited from the one I actually use day to day.
Will you consider every item we bring to vote on carefully before deciding on where to place your monumental number of votes?
I will of course consider everything carefully before voting as that would be most logical. If however I feel that one person or group of people wishes to needlessly target one other group of people because they don't like them I will vote against them for that reason alone. I am not here to needlessly discriminate against others and those here in this governmental body should know that I will not support the targeting of others. We cannot expect the best from those we choose to not educate. We must never forget how privileged and lucky we all are.
Will you be swayed by financial bribery should someone wish to influence your vote in any way?
Indeed not. I will take the money because I like making people look stupid or more stupid than they would otherwise but my vote will always be my own. Let that be a warning to you all. Only an idiot would ever bribe someone and only a true corrupt individual would accept such bribery. We must stop bribery and start with truth no matter how ugly it becomes.
Do you believe everyone deserves a second chance?
Absolutely not. If for example someone has killed and tortured people like I don't know a death eater of course I will never say they deserve a second chance as they weren't caring about chances when they were out murdering and killing were they? Anyone who preaches about giving second chances to criminals like that is just as evil as them in my opinion. It is my opinion but it does not need to be yours. I own my own opinions. I will never force my opinions on others because that is not healthy and you should not do so either Chief Warlock. It's just a suggestion and not a threat before people go getting all these weird ideas about what I just said.
What do you know about the Order of The Phoenix?
Just what I've heard here and there, apparently the leader of this ridiculous society is a psychopath but then again aren't most leaders? The only leader who I trust to not be bribed or evil is our minister of magic and of course our wonderful head of the DMLE. We must learn not to prejudge people and appreciate them for who they are. If you cannot do that then get out now.
Do you have any last comments you wish to make?
I warn you now that I am all about equal rights for everyone no matter who they are. You do not wish to cross me because no one cares about how much you hate a certain species etc. Get a life we have more than your stupid sensitivities to deal with. He directed his glanced directly at Dolores Umbridge as he spoke and she visibly stiffened. As he removed his hand from the scroll he looked away.
"Hem hem! I completely disagree with what he said just now. This kind of view is dangerous and shouldn't be allowed in this esteemed room amongst us esteemed people. I mean werewolves are far from safe and are one of our world's most dangerous groups of people. If we start letting them live normal lives we'll all end up mauled to death and I like my life so no thank you" Dolores said looking highly angry and frightened at the same time. He held up a hand stopping her and stunning everyone in the room as you didn't just do that to someone like her and get away with it. She was particularly nasty for a reason which is why not many people ever opposed her as those who usually did ended up mysteriously hurt or fired.
"Miss Umbridge you're not even a real pureblood and are in no position whatsoever to judge. I mean wasn't your own father in sanitation here at the ministry years ago? That's a vital job and I wouldn't judge him for that so don't be so quick to judge everyone else yourself. Obviously lying to everyone has gotten you where you are today and I do commend you for that. Just like I have no right to judge you, you have no right to judge werewolves when you haven't asked them how you can help them. Your problem is you don't intend to help them. Your only intention is to harm!" he snapped and ploughed on before she could even respond to him. The whole room was so silent you could hear a pin drop. People were stunned someone had the balls to speak up against her as most people never went up against her for fear of ending up hurt and or losing their job.
"We cannot say we're going to help someone when we don't know what that looks like. Why should people be judged so harshly for something that's not their fault? If you got bitten tomorrow I wouldn't hate you just like I don't hate any werewolves now. You may want to learn compassion as you can only go further from there! Try anything funny madam and we'll all know about it. I do not work here so cannot lose my job and I'm not about to get hurt in some way you think is secret" he snapped as she reeled. In all honesty she was itching to get out her wand and stun this upstart but couldn't do it with so many people here. That would just be proving his point. She was apoplectic with rage that he'd outed her as a half blood to everyone there. Much like he had in the past she was trying to hide her blood status which was in no way good. He'd realised that being honest was the only way forward now and soon she would too. Most people were furious she had fooled them and wouldn't be so willing to trust what she said. Even the minister of magic himself looked betrayed. Would he really be missed if he was to suddenly find himself in the presence of a few dementors? The more she thought about it the more it seemed to have merit. Yes she'd send the dementors after him after this meeting. Not here half an hour and he'd already made a huge impact.
