'Well, it is now December 1st. It's time to go home. Time to go back to the run-down, shithole of Commotion City. Even though it's a bad place to live, I still consider it my home.
Lailani has been more than helpful with her little cleansing. It was also pretty cool to meet her cousins for the first time. Despite having a very rough family life, it's nice to know she isn't alone.
But speaking of family: I have a flight to catch. She's supposed to be driving me to the airport this morning. Gotta pack up and get ready to head out. It's time to finally reunite with Tiffany and own up to all the shit Joseph did before I went to the mental hospital.
I feel so bad that she had to witness all that. It's my sworn duty to make it all up to her and the rest of my friends. Regardless, Greenseed was responsible for JK being implanted in my head.
I really hope Dr. Spengler finds a good use for him. Even if he was a mentally unstable psychopath, I still want him to find some peace. Ever since he was taken out of my cranium, I haven't seen any of his past trauma from his time in MKUltra.
Shit, running out of journal space again. Gotta pack up and head out.'
"Hey, Justin?" the Polynesian girl called to her friend.
"Yeah, I know." he said, coming into the living room with his luggage. He already knew what she was calling him for.
She sighed, knowing it felt like she was rushing him, a common pet peeve of his.
"I apologize if I came off as rude."
He shook his head, knowing the apology wasn't even necessary.
"No need to apologize, Lailani. I know I need to move my ass and get out. I've got a flight to catch." he stated, ready to make his departure.
She smiled at him, admiring his determination to go home and start his new beginning.
The 30 year old Polynesian mother and her 8 year old daughter escorted them outside, seeing a taxi cab outside of their house.
"Well, Justin Dark. It's been an... experience." Kiko said, trying to sound civil instead of buzzed.
He grinned at her, having a somewhat mutual feeling as she did.
"Same here, Kiko." he said.
He took another look at her. "Sober your ass up."
The Polynesian mother gave off a stank face, not a fan of him telling her what to do.
"Screw you." she said, opening a cold one and chugging it.
Ugh, it's hopeless.
Tawna came up to him and hugged him, knowing it was time for him to leave.
"Bye bye, JD." the 8 year old Polynesian child said.
He smiled, feeling somewhat warm and fuzzy inside.
"Bye, Tawna. Give your cousin an easy time, OK?" Justin stated, eyeing Lailani.
The cab driver honked the horn, getting pretty impatient with the passengers' chit chat.
"Oh, we should uh... We should probably go." he said, nudging towards the car.
The Polynesian girl nodded, proceeding to walk him to the car.
"Yeah. I'll be back in a little bit, Kiko."
The Polynesian mother nodded, almost taking another sip of her drink, though actually refraining from it.
He chuckled, realizing that it wasn't completely hopeless after all.
They both got inside of the cab. It took off, seeing one final wave goodbye from Kiko and Tawna. God, it was kind of nice meeting more Kealoha family members.
Laliani sat next to him, holding his hand as they were driving to the airport. She was going to accompany him at there, much like how he did the same the January before.
On the way, he got one final good look at the cliffs and beaches of the tropical island. It really was a beautiful place for her to live. He almost didn't want her to move to the same, run-down city as him, boyfriend or not. He should move here, not the other way around.
At the Inna De Poona airport, Justin Dark and Lailani Kealoha approached the line leading to a plane scheduled to fly to Commotion City.
"Well, this is it." he said to his long-distance friend from the islands, placing his luggage on a conveyer belt.
She smiled at him. "Yep. This is it."
He looked at her, knowing how much she was going to miss him. This was a real friendship. Each time they would cross each other's paths, though rarely, it was nothing but positive quality time together.
"Thank you for everything." he stated.
Lailani blushed. "Aw, you're welcome. Glad I could be of service."
He smiled, knowing that she was definitely going to miss him.
"Take care of your little cousin, OK? That child is special."
She nodded, knowing that Tawna needed someone responsible in her life.
"I will. Take care of Tiffany, OK? She'll be expecting you." the Polynesian said.
That is obligatory for me, now that Dwayne leaked our address.
"I will. Take care of yourself too, Lailani."
She smiled once more. "I will. And you take care of yourself, JD. I love you."
He then walked up to her, coming in for a hug. They hugged for a bit, feeling very sentimental towards each other. It was one of those special friendships that was priceless. Considering that they only saw each other on certain occasions made it all the more wholesome.
"See you later, Lailani. I'll keep in touch. Hey, maybe I'll see you in Commotion City sooner or later." he said, despite feeling against a person like her moving to a place like that.
The Polynesian nodded. The line eventually moved up and he retrieved his belongings. He boarded the plane, seeing her wait outside for him.
"I love you, Lailani." he said to himself, watching her stand outside the window view of the plane's cabin.
Before he knew it, the plane had taken off. Lailani waved a final goodbye, him doing the same. God, I love that girl so much. Such a sweetheart.
JD sat back in his seat, winding down for the long trip back home, admiring the view over the ocean. He knew that Tiffany was waiting for him. He did not know what to expect once he returned home. All he knew was that it was his responsibility to protect him and his close friends from any potential Waffleslam mercenaries.
A cab stopped in front of a humble suburban home. JD stepped out, relieved to finally be home after a month of being away.
"Home sweet home." he said, carrying his luggage and making his way to the front door.
He rang the doorbell, not knowing what was going to happen next. Is she pissed at me? Is she gonna break up with me? Am I too much for her to handle? Should we be worried?
Suddenly, the door opened, revealing the familiar face of a blonde, peppy, 23 year old girl wearing a weird Catholic schoolgirl uniform, her most common outfit.
She smiled at him. "Welcome home, babe." she said, kissing him on the cheek and letting him in.
He smiled back, knowing that things were back to normal. Or, as normal as they could get in the complex world he lived in.
Justin sat down on his couch, glad to finally be home. Spending time in a mental institution, as well as the tropics definitely took a toll.
He looked up, feeling very remorseful for everything that had happened before he was admitted into Blackwing.
"Listen, Tiffany. I'm sorry about all the crap. I'm sorry I fucked everything up and-"
The blondie covered his mouth with her finger, as well as giving a subtle shh.
"You don't need to apologize. You've done that enough already."
He blushed, knowing that this has happened before.
"Y-Yeah. But still, I-"
She repeated the same gesture, not wanting to hear the repetitive amount of apologies that he was typically known for.
"I'm just glad you're better now. I wish I would've known about the whole Mr. Hyde shit you had to deal with."
He tilted his head, knowing damn well that she didn't believe in that stuff.
"Wait, so you know about the split personality thing?" he asked.
She nodded. "Y-Yeah. Howard told me everything."
"And you don't find that scary?"
"I'll admit: It is kinda crazy, but honestly, I've seen enough crazy stuff recently to where it doesn't bother me as much. I guess you could say I'm more open-minded these days."
JD shrugged, wondering why she wasn't more creeped out knowing this. She's too open-minded, if anything. Any normal person would leave in a heartbeat.
However, he decided to brush everything off, feeling it was best not to question it. Getting rid of JK was only the beginning of a new, more-tolerable life. His mental state had never been better.
"So..." he said, now being awkward, twirling his thumbs.
Tiffany sat next to him. "So, what?"
Without thinking, he gave her a long, deep smooch on the lips. After everything that had happened in recent months, this was the least he could do to make it all up to her.
"Oh, babe." she said, cheeks now completely red.
He smiled at her. "I love you Tiffany Maye. Thank you so much for everything you've done. Thanks for not leaving me."
"I love you too, Justin Dark." she said, scratching him on the head. "I know you've been through some shit. But, I can tell that you're definitely better now. Super chill."
He nodded, knowing she could feel his shift in tone.
"It's amazing how tolerant you are." he stated.
"Yeah," she replied. "I guess it's a special ability I have."
Definitely. Even after the situation with her mother years ago.
The blondie then sat up.
"Hey, want me to make you dinner?"
"Yeh-hes!" he shouted, looking forward to his lover's cooking. It had been over a month since he last ate it.
She looked at him. "Yeh-hes?" she said, thinking that was an odd way of responding with "yes".
"Y-Yeah. Kind of a reference to something. Eh, forget I said that."
She chuckled. "You're such a dork."
They both went into the kitchen, him sitting at the table while she cooked. He felt very grateful towards his blonde lover and her hard work with helping him.
"Hey, and maybe after dinner. We could... Have dessert?" he stated, dropping major hints.
The blondie smirked at him. "Oh my gosh... That was so corny."
JD looked down, not knowing if it was bad or not.
"But, I love it."
Oh, good.
He smirked back, glad that she didn't find that innuendo to be complete cringe.
The night ended with them in bed, having an intense love session. The house radiated with sexual noises. It was well needed this time around. Regardless, it was time for Justin "JD" Dark to finally get back into the swing of things now that JK was out of his head for good. Things seemed to be improving for a change.
