Lake Beach, Mishelam

A lone man stood in front of the edge of a cliff above the crystal clear lake, his white-tipped bangs shadowing the man's countenance. Gloved hands went up to his collar, adjusting his black and grey overcoat before gripping a feather accessory around the man's neck. The feather was green with a blue tint on its tips, resembling a familiar emblem of a certain group. As he held the necklace, fragmented memories of his distant past emerged from the depths of his mind, causing him to subconsciously tighten his grip.

His gaze became one of pain and sorrow, red orbs staring at the lake. The night breeze came and brushed his bangs aside, a familiar set of eyes briefly revealing themselves as he released his grip on his necklace. To many, he was known as a war hero that ended the Erebonian Civil War and a member of Class VII. But now, to him, he was nothing more than a nameless nobody.

An agent of the divine being.

Someone who the man, himself, deemed wasn't worth remembering.

He was Rean Schwarzer. Son of Baron Schwarzer. Instructor of Thors Branch Campus. The Divine Blade of the Empire. The Ashen Chevalier. The Ashen Awakener. The True Sacrifice of the Great Twilight. And most importantly, a member of Class VII.

But those things did not matter to him. At least not anymore.

He tried to remember how much time had passed ever since he accepted the Avatar of Aidios' offer to work for the Goddess, even if it was an indirect way. Try as he might, Rean could no longer rely on his memories of the past. After working for the Goddess for who knows how many years, there were too many gaps and blanks in his memories to recall certain events correctly. Being an Agent of Aidios was something he had never thought of, but he had already accepted the proposal. Despite not knowing what the job entailed, Rean took the offer. It was a desperate decision, a choice that was fueled by the desire to see his beloved.

Though, he was bound by the rules of the Goddess and his new role in her world.

An Agent of Aidios.

A person who eliminates threats that would harm the balance of her universe. A mercenary that travels through different worlds and timelines to terminate those who try to change history for their own benefit. A nameless phantom who deals with monstrosities that could destroy the world by going on a rampage.

Despite becoming someone who could travel between worlds and timelines, he still has not seen his lover in his own timeline or even the alternate ones. There was no danger, no threat to deal with... there was no reason for him to come back and see her except for his promise. He was grateful to Ciel for saving him from Ishmelga's corruption, but to him, his new role was like another form of torture. He couldn't return to his world without receiving a mission from the Avatar of the Goddess. The chances of Rean seeing an alternate version of Fie was too much of a gamble for him to rely on: thus, he never gets his hopes up. Many risks came with being an agent, such as memory loss and a chance of having an identity crisis. Despite his newfound immortality and regenerative abilities, he would always be in front of death's door whenever the Divine Blade faced new foes. Rean knew all of that, but if it meant getting to see his beloved and friends at some point, he'll endure his torment.

Even if takes him centuries to achieve his goal.

He was snapped out of his thoughts by the sound of the fireworks in the sky. The same fireworks that he watched with his beloved on the same night. A tear ran down his cheek, going unnoticed by the agent. It was such a beautiful night, one that he wanted to share with her but couldn't.

"Rean..."

A familiar voice uttered his name. He already knew who it was as he turned around to meet the source of the voice. His superior— Ciel, one of the Avatars of Aidios, stood in front of him in her astral form. Her expression showed sadness and sympathy when her orbs met his.

Finally noticing the tear that trickled down his face, Rean wiped it away before addressing his boss. "Do you have a new mission for me?"

"Yes. I'll explain all of the details once you return. It will be your most difficult mission yet."

"Right..."

The woman in white vanished in an instant as Rean heaved a sigh. R & R wasn't exactly something he needed since the black-haired man no longer needed to eat or rest. Sleep wasn't a necessity anymore but a luxury for the man. Though, the Divine Blade had stopped going to sleep after accepting Ciel's proposition. That said, mental fatigue was a factor he didn't expect to affect him. While he wasn't physically tired, a weary expression still plastered his visage.

The man formed a fist with his right hand, putting it in front of his chest as a light began to surround him. A few seconds later, Rean was enveloped with the illumination before disappearing from where he stood without a trace.

Arriving at the familiar horizon of clouds, Rean stood in front of the golden throne of Ciel. He had gotten accustomed to the almost unworldly surroundings during his time as the Goddess' agent. The realm Rean had his talk with Ciel was also the location where he would get briefed on his missions— The Endless Sky. The divine woman was seated on her throne with a hand mirror of sorts, looking at the glass with narrowed eyes. At first glance, it looked like an ordinary hand mirror, but it functions more than just a device to check her reflection. It was a mirror that would show the current happenings of alternate timelines and parallel worlds. It was the item the woman had been using to identify otherworldly threats that would harm the world. As well as observe the agent during his missions.

The woman put down her mirror and sighed before addressing the Divine Blade. "How are you feeling, Rean?"

His only response was a shrug and one word. "Fine."

Ciel held back a sigh upon hearing his answer. The woman in white had lost track of how many times she had to hear him say the same answer whenever she asked that question. The years haven't been kind to the swordsman; all of the emotional and mental stress he kept to himself was visible through his visage.

"If you say so..." She frowned but continued with the main reason for her calling the agent to her realm. "I would like to discuss the new mission with you. Like I said earlier, it will be the most difficult mission you will have to do."

"I understand that, but what makes this one different from my previous assignments?" Rean asked. He was curious since all of his missions were difficult in their own right. Hell, some of them nearly cost him his life to complete!

"You will need to be mentally prepared for the things you might encounter during your stay at the timeline that you'll be sent to. I am not saying that it is the main reason for why I think it will be the hardest mission you'll be taking... but because you might get emotional and be overwhelmed at the people you will potentially see there." Ciel said with a regretful tone. From her words, Rean pieced the metaphorical puzzle together. His eyes went wide in realization. "Does July 9, S. 1206 ring any bells for you?"

THUMP

Rean suddenly felt a pang of pain in his head; the mention of the date caused a lost memory to resurface. The woman in white was ready to help ease the pain with her powers, only to be stopped by the man himself when he raised a hand to gesture to her it wasn't needed. The pain was brief, and it vanished as fast as it came.

"I-I'm fine... just remembered something..." He managed to get those words out before he shook his head. Taking a deep breath, his crimson jewels stared at his boss's lilac orbs. "I can't remember the full memory, but I recall dueling Viscount Arseid and Countess Le Guin. After a few days... Thors Branch Campus had a field study in Heimdallr?"

"Correct. I will be sending you to an alternate S. 1206 of Zemuria. Unlike your other mission, where we could identify the threat easily: this is the first time; I could not identify the danger that threatens the flow of time. I could only pinpoint the potential locations of its appearance. That is also the reason why this might be your most difficult mission yet..." The avatar of Aidios clenched her fists in frustration, knowing she couldn't do more to aid the Schwarzer. It has never happened to them before, so the thought of them dealing with an unknown enemy they cannot identify scares her. She felt worse knowing that he would face an alternate version of himself and his friends. The possibility of his old memories suddenly coming back upon seeing them might cause Rean to have a breakdown. That was what she feared. "Now I ask you, Rean Schwarzer. Are you prepared to take on this mission?"

Was he ready? Rean couldn't answer Ciel's question. He was frozen and deep in thought, still as a statue. Despite his time as an agent, it will be his first time to be sent to a time where he was present, even if it was a different version of himself. The Rean of the parallel timeline might be similar to the Agent of Aidios, or he might be a completely different person. The Divine Blade was not sure. But he was certain that he would encounter him and the alternate versions of his friends at some point. The thought made him question himself.

'Am I ready to see them? Am I ready to see her? Am I ready to face them if I encounter them during my mission?'

He asked himself over and over, subconsciously clenching his fists tightly, unaware that he was using his new strength as his hands began to bleed. Ciel frowned when she saw that blood was starting to leak from his gloved hands, the divine maiden having an idea what was going through Rean's mind. Eventually, the man relaxed his fists and sighed as he stared at the blue sky.

Closing his eyes, Rean placed a hand on his chest. 'I accepted my new role as Aidios' agent; so I could see Fie again. Even if this wasn't what I had in mind, I would be able to see her...' Even if the black-haired man encountered the Fie of the alternate timeline, he already knew that that Fie isn't his Fie. But after not being able to see the woman he loved for so long, his desperation made him come to a decision.

He opened his eyes, determination filled his optics as he steeled his resolve. "I'm ready. I'll deal with the threat as soon as I discover it." He assured his boss with a confident expression. "I... know you have your worries about me seeing them. I understand that I might give in to my sorrows and regret..."

Ciel stayed silent as she listened, observing Rean's expression with her lilac orbs.

"But if I back out now because of my regrets and fears, then how can I ever face Fie and the others again?" The immortal swordsman looked down and formed fists with his bleeding hands. A frown crossed his countenance as images of his lover and friends flooded his mind. "If I don't do this, whatever threat that's coming will forever change the history of the timeline to what they desire. As long as I breathe, I won't allow that to happen." He stated firmly.

His declaration earned the immortal agent a smile from the woman in white as she materialized a contract from her palm. The contract she conjured was nothing more than their usual routine at this point. The contents of the paper were the conditions he must agree to follow before being sent to the different timelines and worlds where his missions will take place. The document flew out of Ciel's grasp as it levitated in front of Rean, words of a forgotten language etched into the paper as the man read the contents as if it were written in his own language.

The agent must not reveal their true identity to the people of the different timelines.

The agent must not reveal or discuss the objective of their mission to the people of the different timelines. Exceptions may be made if the Goddess or the Avatars of the Goddess permits the Agent of Aidios to share information about their goal.

The agent must not reveal any information regarding the Agent of Aidios' relationship with the Goddess of the Sky. Exceptions may be made if the Goddess or the Avatars of the Goddess permits the Agent of Aidios to share their relationship with the Goddess of the Sky.

The agent must not perform actions (which are not related to their mission) that can greatly affect the history of the timeline.

Memories of those who have encountered and interacted with the Agent of Aidios must have their memories about them wiped from their minds once the mission has been completed.

Rean had read the same contents for so long that it started to annoy the swordsman. But he didn't voice a complaint since he knew it was just standard procedure. He had no real trouble following all of the rules placed upon him; one of the conditions actually has a loophole he discovered during one of his missions. While the black-haired man could not reveal his identity to anyone, it was a different story if they found out who he was. There had been a few occurrences of civilians recognizing the face of the former Ashen Chevalier, though; Rean never received any punishment because he technically didn't break the first condition.

In the end, it was meaningless if they knew him or not because of the memory wipe.

Raising a hand above his chest, flames gathered on the palm of Rean's hand as they combined into a pen of sorts. The Divine Blade wrote his signature as the contract burned in golden flames, leaving only embers. The Avatar of the Goddess nodded, knowing the procedure of the start of the mission was finished. The Agent of Aidios turned his back as a portal opened for him. Before walking through the gateway to the other timeline, Rean looked over his shoulder to look at Ciel one last time.

"How much time do I have to complete this assignment?"

"Ah, right," Ciel said as she stroked her chin. "For this assignment, you will not have a deadline of completion. Since I cannot identify what the exact threat is with my mirror, I cannot say for certain when it will appear. Only where it could appear."

"I see..." Rean sighed as a black robe appeared on the man, hiding his physique and a hood to hide his visage. "I assume that I have permission to eliminate any... monsters that are foreign to the timeline?" He received a nod for an answer.

The woman's expression returned to one of concern as she got up from her throne before walking over to the agent. "Please be careful, Rean. I know you are immortal, but your regeneration won't help you if you receive a fatal wound to the heart." She rubbed his back through the dark black fabric.

"I know... I'll come back as soon as I complete the mission." He stated with a rather blank tone. "I will contact you once I have gotten a feel of the land."

"Understood..."

With no more words to be exchanged, Rean went through the portal. The most dangerous and difficult mission of the Divine Blade and Agent of Aidios has begun.

West Ostia Highway

An oval-shaped portal tore space itself as the Agent of the Goddess stepped out of the gateway. As he arrived at the alternate timeline, the man immediately used his sensing abilities to scan a good chunk of the land until he reached the Vermillion Capital. It was one of the many boons gifted to him upon becoming an agent. His lips curled downward as he felt the aura of the Ishmelga of this timeline, the ancient curse still around his biological father. Despite Rean's feelings about the embodiment of malice, the conditions of the contract prevented him from doing anything to change the history of the alternate timeline.

There were rare occurrences where Ciel would allow him to take actions that would affect the history of the different timelines. It was because the threats that appeared in those periods meddled with the lives of the innocent deliberately and manipulated them for their own gain. An old memory he recalled was the time he assisted the Bladelord and Black Fang of an alternate timeline with dealing with the D∴G Cult, unintentionally helping them release the Angel of Slaughter from the cult. The only reason why he was permitted to intervene was because a demonic entity from the Outer Realm possessed one of the cultists. Its interference caused disorder and unnecessary chaos in the timeline.

Rean silently hoped that no higher beings would use the Ishmelga of the alternate timeline he's currently in for their own purpose, less they want to be cut down by the agent. As his eyes wandered, the black-haired swordsman realized he was in a clearing. Looking around a bit more, he somewhat recognized where the portal sent him.

"It seems I'm around the West Ostia Highway... I should start connecting with the spirit veins now that I have arrived."

He started to walk out of the clearing he was in. With each step the man took, he slowly connected his very being into the spirit veins of the area. Rean gained such an ability after becoming a human and Divine Knight hybrid, which granted him the ability to detect any unnatural presence in a wider and larger area. Rean couldn't help but feel a sense of nostalgia for the familiar yet unfamiliar highway. Even after all his years as an Agent of the Goddess, he never had missions that would send him to the Empire. His hazy memory also contributed to his feeling of unfamiliarity.

The hybrid looked around and took everything in, registering everything his eyes set their sights on into his mind. The highway was basically the same as the one in his timeline; at least that's what he thinks anyway. Rean continued walking along the road, still connecting with the spirit veins until a voice spoke in his head.

"What will be your first move, Rean?" The voice of Ciel asked through a telepathic link, surprising the man as he took on an apologetic look.

"Sorry I forgot to inform you of my safe arrival, Ciel."

"You don't need to apologize. I understand that returning to the country you'd call home can make you forget everything and succumb to nostalgia, even if it is just a highway." Rean snorted in amusement at the last part of the woman's statement as she giggled slightly. The woman in white was currently watching over the man through her mirror, so she knew that Rean's arrival in the alternate timeline had no issues.

"I'll head to Leeves and then to the capital for now. Since you said that the threat will most likely appear in Heimdallr, I'll be surveying the area for any Temporal Golems before stationing myself in the capital." He informed his boss with closed eyes.

"Understood. I will inform you if I detect the threat that endangers this timeline as soon as it shows any sign of its appearance. Good luck with your mission... Agent of Aidios."

Silence took hold of the man for a moment before he allowed himself to nod. "Much appreciated, Avatar of the Goddess."

A chuckle echoed in his mind before it slowly faded as the man started his trek to Leeves.

...

As he continued his journey to the Heimdallr Suburbs, Rean dealt with his fair share of monster encounters during his "stroll", yet none of them seemed to attack him. It was quite the opposite. As soon as they approached the swordsman, their bestial instincts screamed at them to run away from him. Though, it was the norm for him to see weaker monsters run away when they felt his aura, even looking at him causes them to run. He had grown used to the sight.

When he saw that he was close to Leeves, the agent began running until he heard a cry.

"HELP! Someone! Please!"

"Mommy, I'm scared!"

"I-I won't a machine hurt my precious babies! You two, run!" The desperate tone was filled with a hint of despair and hopelessness.

Like a machine in autopilot, the Divine Blade's body turned around and immediately sprinted in the direction of the voice at a speed that would put most of the speedy warriors in Zemuria to shame. The Schwarzer arrived at another clearing to see a woman with two kids being cornered by a large mechanical weapon of the Society. His crimson orbs narrowed as he gripped both the scabbard of his blade and its handle, muttering his craft.

"Ashen Blade—" Burying his foot on the ground, Rean vanished from where he stood before appearing in front of the archaism and kicking it off the ground, sending it flying through the air. In one quick motion, he unsheathed his tachi and turned his back before returning his weapon to its sheath. "Flying Helix."

Several flaming slashes appeared on the machine before being consumed by a torrent of purple and red flames, turning it into nothing but ash as the woman and the little ones stare at the result of Rean's attack in awe and shock.

"Wow! That was so cool!" The boy exclaimed, seemingly forgetting the situation they were in earlier. His outburst caused the woman to snap out of her surprised state as she hugged her children tightly with tears rolling down her cheeks, muttering how happy she was that they were safe. Watching in silence, Rean smiled slightly before the woman looked at him.

"T-Thank you so much for s-saving us from that... thing." The woman said between sniffles as the other child cried on her shoulder.

"Think nothing of it. I couldn't just let that archaism hurt you or your family, especially when I heard your children's cry for help." He brushed it off as the swordsman deepened the tone of his voice to avoid being identified.

She blinked in surprise upon hearing his voice, and her confusion was clear on her countenance. The woman tried to get a good look at the one who saved her, but the hood prevented her from inspecting her savior's face; only his red orbs could be seen. She shook her head and set aside the feeling of recognition.

"How can we repay you for saving us?"

"No need." The hooded Rean answered almost instantly as he held up a hand. "I wanted to help, there is no need to repay me."

"But—"

"I assure you it's fine." He sighed, feeling a sense of stubbornness coming from the woman. "If you really want to repay me, please tell me how you were attacked by an archaism while I escort you three to where you were going."

The woman was about to open her mouth to protest about being escorted but closed it. She rather not risked her children's safety by being stubborn.

"Okay. Thank you so much for your kindness, Mr...?"

"Rin." The Divine Blade answered with an alias he would use during missions. "Just call me Rin."

"All right then, Mr. Rin. I'm Liza, and these are my two children— Maria and Reon. We were just heading back to Leeves when that machine showed up..."

"H-Hello, Mister. I'm Maria." The girl introduced herself timidly, prompting "Rin" to chuckle softly.

"And I'm Reon! You were so awesome, Mister! You were like boom! Pow! Wham!" All of them sweatdropped at the boy's antics, yet the swordsman found himself smiling a bit more than usual. "You're a swordsman, right?! I want to be just as strong as you when I grow up! I want to be the kind of person to protect my mom and sister!"

The innocent and happy look in the boy's eyes managed to make the agent forget about his mental exhaustion and burdens for a moment as he smiled softly, kneeling with one knee and patting his head.

"If that's your reason, then I'm sure everything will work out." Reon flashed a bright grin as he chuckled softly at the kid. "Let's get going then."

The three nodded and began to follow Rin from behind, the man gripping the handle of his tachi while leading the family of three back to Leeves. After they started walking, the swordsman felt that she had met Liza somewhere but couldn't quite recall where. She looked familiar, but he couldn't remember anything about the woman.

The walk was not trouble for the four. Every monster that would approach them would run whenever Rean would so much as glance at them. He listened to Liza's explanation as he escorted them. According to her, the three of them were returning from the capital when they were suddenly being chased by the archaism. They decided to walk back to Leeves because the train was out of commotion for some reason.

When Rean asked if she had a weapon to fight off the monsters on the highway, she pulled out her ARCUS II unit and a broken orbal bow.

"I was confident I could protect the kids from the monsters here, so I decided to walk with them back to Leeves. I didn't expect an archaism to appear and chase after us, though..." She sighed before pocketing her items and holding her children's hands. "Seriously, thank you for saving us."

"Yeah, thank you, Mister!" Both kids said in unison as the Divine Blade nodded his head.

He continued to guard the three against danger as they make their way to the town up ahead.

Leeves, Heimdallr Suburbs

"Thank you again for saving and escorting us, Mr. Rin." Liza and her family bowed to the swordsman. The four stood in front of a bakery in town called Recette as the man stared at the building before waving his hand dismissively. His metaphorical roots connected with the spirit veins in Leeves upon his arrival at the small town.

"I told you it's fine."

"P-Please! Let us at least treat you to some food for helping us!"

"Liza? Are you back with the kids?" A masculine voice rang from the doors of the bakery, causing the woman and children to turn their heads to the voice.

"Yes, dear! In a sec!" As the woman turned her head to face Rin, her rescuer was gone from his spot. Her shocked expression was shared by her children who also turned around. "What...?"

"Where did Mister go?"

"He's like a ninja! I wish I could do that!"

The door of Recette opened to reveal a brown-haired man in his early thirties, wearing an Imperial Army uniform with an apron over his clothes. The children quickly latched onto the man's legs as the two shouted.

"Daddy!"

"Welcome back, kids. Had a fun day in the capital with mommy?" They nodded as the military officer chuckled before he noticed his wife's serious expression. "Honey? What's wrong?"

"We... ran into some trouble on our way back..." Liza confessed. The expression of the man turned serious as he held his kids protectively. "I'll tell you everything inside."

The family of four went inside the bakery as a hooded figure watched everything from the shadows of the alleyway of the town using his robe— a robe that could conceal his presence and blend him into the shadows to an extent, to hide from them. Sighing, he looked at the bakery with a solemn look.

Whatever thoughts that were in his head were interrupted by his boss's voice.

"It looks like you have regained some of your memories..."

"Yes... I used to eat in that bakery with my students during my time as an instructor. But if I remember correctly, Julian— Liza's wife, passed during the civil war. I don't remember her having any kids too... which means that he survived the war in this timeline." Rean stated matter-of-factly as he closed his eyes.

"That seems to be the case. This is an alternate timeline of Zemuria. Changes and differences will be quite apparent here, no matter if they are big or small." The man remained silent as the woman continued. "By the way... the true smile you showed earlier was beautiful, Rean."

That caught the swordsman off guard as he almost fell because of the statement. He was about to say something stupid when Rean remembered that she could see him through her hand mirror.

"Right... you saw that earlier, huh?" Adopting a neutral look, Rean questioned his superior.

"Yes. It has been a while since you've last smiled." A tone of regret was in her voice as he frowned slightly.

"Yeah. Well, years of saving various timelines from timeline destroying monsters and individuals and watching the innocent get slaughtered by them one way or another can do that to a person." He growled unintentionally with a bitter tone, forcing the woman in white in silence. Rean realized what he had done as his face softened. "I-I... I'm sorry, Ciel. I didn't mean to say such things, especially in that tone. I'm not blaming you; it was my decision to become an agent of Aidios. I apologize for speaking out of line."

"N-No... it's quite alright, Rean. I was naïve to think that you wouldn't be affected by what you have seen all these years as an agent. I know you are also mentally exhausted... I apologize as well."

"Ciel, it's my fault, okay? You know the reason for me being tired... I guess seeing the boy's smile earlier and hearing his reasons for becoming stronger made me feel a bit nostalgic." Rean looked down at the ground with a ghost of a smile. "To protect your loved ones from danger... it's one of the reasons I trained so hard back then."

He didn't receive any reply, but the man knew Ciel nodded her head in understanding. You don't work as an agent for Aidios' knows how long without getting to know the woman's tick and behavior. While she is a divine being, his boss acted like a human, making jokes and occasional teasing whenever Rean's mental burdens weren't agonizing him. He was taken by surprise when the woman suddenly told him a joke through telepathy during one of his first missions as an agent.

Shaking his head, Rean began scanning the area for the same presence he was on the lookout for earlier. As he was about to take a step forward, he froze when he felt two familiar presences inside of a building. His heartbeat quickened as his chest ached. A pain the agent had buried deep within him resurfaced as he resisted the urge to turn to the source of his suffering.

"Rean, calm down! Please don't look—" Ciel was cut off by a voice Rean thought he wouldn't hear ever again.

"Guess he's still at the academy, probably in the faculty room. Wanna surprise him when we get there?"

"As long as our surprise doesn't involve an ambush like last time, I don't mind. Father and the Instructor are likely in the Principal's office with the Countess right now."

Their voices sinking into his mind, Rean snapped his head towards the dormitory. Two women came out of the door; one had blue hair tied into a ponytail while the other had messy silver locks. He felt his heart drop as he recognized the females the moment his eyes landed on them. One Laura S. Arseid was walking out of the Branch's dorm...

With Fie Claussell.

Notes: You made it to the end of this chapter! Thanks~! So, I will start by addressing a few things about the abilities Rean gained after becoming an Agent of Aidios. First off, he has semi-immortality or whatever the term for that is, meaning he has high regenerative abilities that can even heal limbs that were cut off. Since the job basically needs the agents to fight beings similar to levels of McBurn's true form and even higher, they are granted that special boon. They will be granted quick learning capabilities for information gathering. Another boon they have been given upon accepting the role is the obvious stats boost so I won't be too in-depth with that. During the agent's missions across time, they will be given a portion of Ciel's power, meaning they can also create portals and conjure items they desire. Though, the items are limited to things the agent has some form of attachment. They can also wield the septium elements freely. While the agent possesses the ability to use all eight elements, there will always be one element the agent will be more proficient at wielding. In Rean's case, that would be fire.

So that's basically all the stuff an Agent of Aidios will be blessed with upon accepting the role. But since Rean also became a type of pseudo Divine Knight in human skin, he has more abilities! The obvious one would be teleportation and the telepathy stated in the last chapter. Rean's teleportation ability using the spirit veins is much weaker, though. He needs to set foot on a location he wants to teleport and connect with the spirit veins there. Again, his physical abilities have gained a tremendous boost due to his becoming a hybrid. Soooo... yeah. He's stronger than most of the people in Zemuria. I say most because there are still those who can give him a challenge. *cough* Aurelia and McBurn *cough* But if I'm being honest, no ordinary human could beat Rean if he does fight them like how he fights with the enemies he had faced during his time as an agent. If you guys think he's OP... well, yeah, that's the point. XD

There are also other abilities he has improved and obtained (I.E. Spirit Unification and the mysterious Ashen Blade...) but you'll find out in future chapters. I wouldn't like to spoil the surprise! Oh! And since the next chapter will be the alternate timeline Rean's first appearance, I will be referring to him as Rean and our protagonist Rean as either "Rin" or "Nameless" to avoid confusion.

Anyway, thank you all for reading and giving this a chance! Until next time!
