MOUNT JUSTICE

OCTOBER 16th 2010, 16:01 PM

Honeybee watched the screen before her, eyes glued to the screen and unable to move away from the carnage in front of her. Various heroes were falling left and right thanks to an alien invasion, Batman disappearing in a burst of light inside of his bat plane, the Green Lanterns disintegrating on the live feed on the holocomputer. Despite the horrors in front of her, she felt nothing. No horror or despair, not even helplessness. Just blank.

Red Tornado stood in front of the assembled Team, watching the feed with them. In the corner of the screen appeared the concerned form of Zatara, who addressed Red Tornado.

"Tornado, did you –" he started, but Red Tornado cut him off before he could finish.

"Yes, Zatara," Red Tornado said emotionlessly. "We saw. Celestial offences have failed. Initiate all terrestrial defenses."

"Affirmative. See you in the field." Zatara disappeared from the screen, and a wave of solemness flooding the Team. Red Tornado turned to face the Team.

"I must join the League. We will protect the planet at all costs," Red Tornado said. "But should we fail, the responsibility falls to you."

Aqualad stepped forward, narrowing his eyes with resolution and determination.

"We stand ready," their leader intoned. Red Tornado hesitated for just a moment, like he knew something they didn't, a moment of silence stretching over them where wordless things remained unsaid but said all the same. And then he created a red whirl of wind, and then he was gone upward into the exit in the roof of the Cave.

The Team returned their focus to the screen, and Honeybee narrowed her eyes from her place next to Robin. Iris West-Allen, Wally's older sister, was on the screen, reporting live from Central City. Despite the danger to his sister, Wally seemed unperturbed. Some bystanders on screen disintegrated in a flash of light thanks to a wave of alien ships descending upon Central City.

Iris stared in shock, for once at a loss for words, before the Flash appeared on screen, gathering her up and taking her somewhere safe. The camera man was captured in a swirl of magic, and then they were up with Iris and the Flash on the roof of a building. Zatara appeared on the screen, and the two heroes conversed briskly with Iris before returning to the fray.

Iris and the others watched helplessly as the Flash and Zatara disappeared in a flash of light, followed shortly by Iris and the cameraman. Wally was once again seemingly unbothered. Cat Grant quickly appeared, the static from where the cameraman had cut out zooming into the corner of the screen.

"I'm sorry," Cat said, the faintest hint of emotion in her voice. "We're experiencing….technical difficulties from our Central City feed. We-we take you now to a devasted Taipei, where another League contingent is having a bit more luck."

A video of Taipei popped up, and almost as if mocking Cat with her statement, both of the Hawks were disintegrated in a blast of white light. The camera zoomed in on Green Arrow and Black Canary, who managed to fend off a ship before being destroyed by a second. Honeybee felt nothing as she watched Leaguer after Leaguer disappear in bright light, only feeling blank determination as she felt the need to do something mounting inside of her.

The feed cut again, returning to Cat Grant, who's thinly held emotion was now on full show, revealing her sorrow at the events unfolding.

"Ladies and gentlemen, we have lost Black Canary, Green Arrow, and the Hawks. Other heroes reported dead or missing include Batman, Icon, Atom, and Aquaman." Cat shuffled the papers in front of her, a small sniffle escaping her. "The last of the Leaguers have been reported in Smallville, where we will now take you."

Wonder Woman and Red Tornado were engaged in battle, but it was not long before Wonder Woman was taken over by a beam she intended to block.

"Red Tornado to Cave," Red Tornado connected to the Cave, his voice echoing around them as they watched him on screen. "I fear that I am all that remains of the League."

Robin stepped up, calling out Red's name as they watched Red Tornado be destroyed on screen. Honeybee searched herself for any other feeling other than emptiness but found nothing but readiness to move, to do something.

"We are Earth's heroes now," Aqualad solemnly said. Superboy scowled and stepped to face Aqualad.

"Well, what are we waiting for?" Superboy interrupted. "A theme song?" Aqualad frowned.

"A strategy." Aqualad faced the Team head-on, assuming the role of Earth's main defender easily. "Earth's weapons are ineffective, and it has been made tragically clear a direct attack will not succeed."

Robin's holo-glove popped up without needing to be told, and Robin scanned over a map of the Earth.

"Checking satellite imagery now," Robin said. Bright red appeared in various spots over the globe, and Honeybee leaned over the edge of his shoulder to get a look at what it was saying. "Here's where the aliens are now."

"Is that," Honeybee asked, looking at a lone ship in the northern artic. "Superman's Fortress of Solitude?"

Superboy's eyes widened, confusion pulling at his brow. "Superman has a Fortress of Solitude?"

Honeybee blinked and reached out to a hand on her friend's shoulder. "I-I thought you knew."

"It's power source must've attracted the alien's attention. At least enough to send a scout ship to investigate," Robin explained, ignoring his teammate's question. Honeybee watched as Superboy turned away from the group.

"Must be some Fortress…." Superboy grumbled. Miss Martian stepped after him, and Honeybee turned to where the couple stood.

"Conner," Miss Martian said comfortingly.

"No, it's fine," Superboy shrugged off. "I guess there's a lot I don't know about him. You know, now."

"We will target this lone ship," Aqualad commanded. Aqualad stood straight, ever the leader he was born to be.

"Yeah!" Kid Flash agreed. "Break it down! Build more! Hit those ugly aliens with their own mojo!" Kid Flash punched his fist into his other hand for emphasis. Artemis knocked him in the side with her elbow, and he let out a yelp.

"Martian and Kryptonian in the house," Artemis scathed. Superboy and Miss Martian looked mildly offended but did not say anything. Kid Flash rushed to defend himself, and under normal circumstances, Honeybee might find his foot in mouth syndrome humorous.

"Uh, not that all aliens are automatically ugly," Kid Flash quickly amended. Honeybee frowned and crossed her arms.

"Good thing our polar stealth suits just came in."

Let me tell you what I'd wish I'd known

When I was young and dreamed of glory

You have no control

Who lives, who dies, who tells your story

Honeybee followed Artemis as they scouted in the polar cold, slipping behind glaciers and mountains of snow as they snuck up on the alien ship docked by Superman's Fortress of Solitude. Her regular suit had been transformed into it's polar stealth variant, all the black became white and the yellow a soft gray color and her mask completely black for once. It was also much warmer, with a fur lined hood and boots that made it much easier to move in the freezing temperature.

Honeybee held two stingers in her hand as she got in position next to Artemis on the ground, hidden behind a glacier. Miss Martian in camo mode made her way towards the ship, the only give away was when her eyes glowed green to remove the communications and cannon from the side of the ship. It tore off easily, and Artemis and Honeybee sprung into action once they heard Miss Martian in the mindlink.

"Communications disabled." The ship fell to the ground with a loud lurch. "Propulsion disabled."

Artemis shot off arrows to the center beam where the aliens could escape, foam appearing from the arrows as they made their mark. Honeybee shot off two stingers, avoiding a blast from the top beam that would disintegrate her, the two landing on the second arm of the ship to shut down any communications or lasers, hoping the low EMP pulse would work on the alien technology.

"And ETs are sealed inside!" Artemis thought. Aqualad appeared from the icy depths beneath the ship, ice shattering beneath it as Aqualad with his water bearers jumped forward out of the cold water, landing on the side. Wolf jumped forward and bit into the laser on top, spinning it out of Aqualad's direction with the help of Superboy. Kid Flash sped forward, Robin on his back and doing a summersault off of his back and onto the top of the ship.

Superboy held the weapon steady, Honeybee watching as Robin pulled up his computer to scan the weapon gun.

"Identifying weapon's structural stress points and links to the ship." Robin stood and pointed at three various points of the weapon. "Here, here, and here!"

Miss Martian, now out of camo mode, held out her hand and sent out telekinetic blasts. The blasts were centered on the structural points that Robin had identified, and Superboy used the weak points to try and pull the weapon clean off of the ship. He missed a blaster that came loose, and it started to beep threateningly. Honeybee gasped and tried to reach out, to say something, but Wolf was quicker.

He pushed Superboy out of the way, and then in a flash Wolf was gone, disintegrated into nothingness. Superboy rolled in ice, and looked back up, solemn as he stared at where his canine best friend once stood.

"Wolf…" Miss Martian murmured in her thoughts.

"There was no indication of feedback," Robin explained, his own form of comforting. "I'm sorry."

"It's fine," Superboy said, looking down for a moment. "There's nothing I can do for him now."

Superboy returned to his former position and attempted to tear off the weapon once again.

"Let's go."

This time he was successful, ripping it off, little bits of electricity sprouting off of the edge.

Miss Martian called the camouflaged Bioship to them, and Superboy and Miss Martian easily jumped onto the top of it. Miss Martian laid her hands on the ship and a stream of red energy connected to the weapon that Superboy still held in his hands.

"Rerouting systems to integrate weapon into ship's biometrics. I'll need to camouflage for a few minutes."

Where before their was nothing now stood the floating Bioship, and Honeybee and Artemis took that as their moment to hurry back to the ship.

"May not have a few minutes!" Robin pointed out two ships that were beginning to circle them. Aqualad turned to Miss Martian.

"Miss Martian, open fire!"

"I can't! Weapon systems are off-line while incorporating the new cannon, and that's not fully integrated yet either!"

"We've got you covered!" Artemis said, stopping and turning to face the two ships. She let off two arrows, and Honeybee skidded to a stop, retrieving two stingers from her utility belt. "Get inside, we're almost there!"

The ship Artemis hit fell to the ground in a large explosion, and the other one followed, but it landed next to the remains of it's fallen partner. Artemis turned to run, and Honeybee let off two stingers that hit the remaining ship dead on, but the EMP did little on this ship versus the previous.

Honeybee turned to follow Artemis, and neither noticed the cannon that was rearing behind them. A loud pulse could be heard, and then there was a flash of red and white light, and Artemis was gone. Honeybee was right next to her and fell from the impact of the energy right next to her, and she turned to where her friend had once been.

"Artemis!" Miss Martian called out painfully. There was a searing pain in her head, and then the cloud of emotion for Artemis's death fell over her. Honeybee stared in shock, frozen at the fact that her friend was now completely gone, vanished into nothingness.

"Artemis!" Kid Flash screeched. Aqualad reached for his waterbearers, while Honeybee remained rooted in her spot.

"Inside, all of you!" Aqualad commanded. "Superboy, get Honeybee!"

Honeybee felt herself lifted up by something, and the sound of bounding, and then she was back on the ship. She was sure that Aqualad had raised some kind of ice, but she could not recall seeing it, and she recalled Kid Flash saying something but she could not remember that either. Her body felt numb as waves of grief crashed over her. She was set down in her normal seat by Superboy, who stayed by her side with a furious frown.

She was dimly aware of the Bioship taking off, and it was silent for a good few moments before Kid Flash was in her face, yelling at her.

"Why didn't you help her?!" Kid Flash demanded. Honeybee did not say anything, still lost in her thoughts as she tried to reconcile the fact that Artemis was gone.

"Hey, leave her alone!" Superboy defended her. "She couldn't have done anything to save her!"

Kid Flash stared for a few moments longer, and then he beat his fists on one of the control panels, turning away from them with anger still in his face.

"Their will be time to mourn later," Aqualad took charge, anger and frustration in his voice. "Right now, we have a job to do. Defend the Earth and ensure Artemis's sacrifice was not in vain."

Mourn later. Words easier said than done. Honeybee had walked this path before, but never on such a large scale. The fate of the world was at stake here, and her friend had died to protect it. How was she supposed to do this? Pretend nothing was wrong and that this was just a normal mission? That her friend had not just died before her eyes? Honeybee closed her eyes and turned away from Aqualad, trying to compartmentalize her thoughts so she could do as he asked.

"Back to the Cave?" Miss Martian suggested. Aqualad stood tall, his frame and face certain.

"The Hall of Justice," Aqualad corrected. "The human race must know there are still heroes defending them." Aqualad paused for a moment, solemnly looking at the empty seat that once housed their fallen teammate. "There is still hope."

And when you're gone, who remembers your name?
Who keeps your flame?
Who tells your story?
Who tells your story?
Who tells your story?

DC was in ruins. The sky was a musty brown and clouds and smoke crowded the sky line. Buildings – monumental buildings that once meant something to millions of people – now lay in tattered remains. Soldiers tried their best to fend off the alien invasion, but it was of no use, their weapons were clearly outmatched by the aliens. One by one Honeybee watched from the Bioship as soldiers disappeared into nothingness.

Just like Artemis.

Three ships were headed towards where a U.S. military brigade had set up in front of the Hall of Justice. They opened fire on the ships, but there was nothing they could do, as the aliens sent blasts that destroyed their tanks and weapons with ease.

The cameoed Bioship snuck behind them, and Superboy snuck through a hole in the center of the ship's floor to attack the point ship head on. He landed heavily on the ship, creating a crater in it's back as it felt over the road leading up to the Hall of Justice. Honeybee stayed in her seat as Miss Martian opened fire on the other ships, and they fell easily thanks to the cannon they had stolen from the alien ship.

Superboy crashed the ship directly in front of the military brigade, riding it until it came to a complete stop and he jumped to the ground. The Bioship landed next to it, and the rest of the Team exited the ship, now out of their polar stealth suits. Honeybee supposed know they were in the open – there was no more need for stealth suits since they were no longer covert ops.

"See? It is Superman!" a solider said, smiling at the form of Superboy. "Told you he wouldn't leave us out here alone!"

"I don't know," his fellow solider commented. "He looks kind of young. Where's the cape?"

"I'm not Superman," Superboy said with a scowl.

A man in a general's uniform appeared, walking toward them with the authority of a leader. He was tall and burly, the kind of man who had seen war before and was not afraid to go down with the ship.

"I don't care who you are, son," the leader said. "And right now, I don't care. You wear the 's' and you get the job done."

"I'm not Superman," Superboy murmured, mostly to himself. Honeybee put a hand on his shoulder. She could only imagine what Superboy must be feeling. To have the one link to understanding who and what you are gone before you could know anything about them, and then to have yourself compared to them for superficial reasons. All of that on top of mourning a teammate and a canine companion.

"Tell that to the enemy," the leader insisted. He then turned to Aqualad, standing straight as he gave the Atlantean a salute. "General Wade Eiling, U.S. Air Force."

"Aqualad, Justice League," Aqualad introduced sternly. His features were as dark and angry as Honeybee had ever seen them. "We will help you salvage as many of the alien's cannons as possible. And then we will start taking back what is ours."

I put myself back in the narrative
I stop wasting time on tears
I live another 50 years
It's not enough

The Hall of Justice, much like the rest of DC, was in complete and utter ruin. The building was only barely intact, holes and craters littering the rooftop. The monuments inside were scattered around, bits and pieces of their mentor's likeness scattered around what had bene the main entry hall.

Everyone felt a solemness overtake them. This was real. This was happening. Everyone and everything they had relied on was gone, and now it up to them to save the world. How were they to do that? How could they? They were just a couple of kids after all.

Honeybee wondered over to where the remains of her mother's statue sat. Waspia had been one of the founding member's of the League, and the first of them to die. Her face was broken in half, dislodged from her body, the stone splattered with ruins and liquid. Honeybee kneeled next to her mother's statue and touched her cheek, hoping for some sense of peace.

"Tell me what to do Mom," Honeybee whispered, leaning her head against the cold stone. Never had she wanted her mother's guidance than right now. Honeybee could not do this with out her, and yet, she had to. She wanted her mom, she wanted her to wrap her up tight and promise her this was all a bad dream. That this was going to get better. That they had a plan. Anything. Any comforting word from her mother, a word that Honeybee knew would never come.

Miss Martian was crying by her uncle's statue, when suddenly she jumped up with a gasp, flying back and levitating the statue. She flung the statue aside to reveal sitting in the rubble was none other than Martian Manhunter, who seemed to be fine despite their witnessing him disintegrating in space only hours before.

"Uncle J'onn!" Miss Martian cried. She attempted to fly over to him, but was stopped by Aqualad who stood in between the two Martians.

"M'gann, check his mind! Make sure he is who he appears to be!"

"It's him!" Miss Martian cheered happily. "He's real and he's alive!"

"But we saw you get disintegrated!" Superboy argued. "You and Superman! And everyone!"

Artemis flashed in Honeybee's mind and she frowned, looking back down at her mother's statue. Someone else she couldn't save.

Martian Manhunter groaned in pain, reaching for his forehead.

"Yes…I remember. But I can not remember how I survived… or how I arrived here."

"Maybe you were density shifting," Miss Martian proposed. "And the beam passed right through you!"

"Scrambling your brains along the way," Robin finished. Martian Manhunter looked uncertain, and Honeybee felt that way too. This wasn't right, Honeybee could feel it. Something was wrong here.

"My mind is clouded…." Martian Manhunter said. "I am certain I had something important to tell you."

"Hello Wally!" Kid Flash said, hitting his forehead. He disappeared outside, the Boy Wonder following after him. Honeybee was tempted to follow, but found she was too drowned in grief to really want to. Whatever it was, she was sure the duo would tell her if it was important.

Honeybee watched the others from her spot next to her mother's statue. Everyone seemed to be feeling like her, solemn and sorrowful despite their determination. But Honeybee also felt hopeless. It felt like only a matter of time before they themselves became victims of the aliens, and Honeybee was never one good at waiting. She was…. tired. Ready for all of this to be over despite their being no end in sight.

"I knew it!" Kid Flash cut through her inner monologue with an almost annoyingly hopeful tone. "Look, it's giving off zeta-beams, the same kind that power our zeta-tubes!" Zeta-beams, then that means…. "This thing doesn't disintegrate, it teleports. Flash is alive! Artemis is alive!"

"Maybe," Robin said, more cautious than his best friend. "But –"

"No maybes!" Kid Flash said. "They're alive!"

"That must be what you wanted to tell us!" Miss Martian concluded. Martian Manhunter seemed uncertain at this news but did not contest it.

Any other discussion about this were put to rest very suddenly, as a new alien assault began. Honeybee and the others could see from the cracks and holes in the roof that this onslaught would be much heavier than the one they stopped on their initial arrival. Honeybee stood from her sitting position as she remembered that Robin and Kid Flash were still outside.

"We are on our way!" Aqualad called, and Honeybee ran after him as they went to met the other two outside.

"Negative!" Robin answered. "We can't win this! Miss Martian camouflage the Bio-"

Robin was cut off by both Martian Manhunter and Miss Martian being sent flying back, pained faces and moans escaping their lips, caused by what invisible force seemed to have attacked them. They landed on their backs on the ground, and Superboy jumped into action.

"M'gann!" He came to her side and helped her up, Miss Martian crying as he did so.

"Tha-that didn't feel so good," Miss Martian whispered.

"We're falling back!" Robin, Kid Flash, and a bevy of soldiers appeared in the entrance, racing to meet them. Honeybee turned on her heel and ran with the others deeper into the hall.

"We're trapped!" General Ellis said, and Aqualad stopped at the opening of the library, punching in the code for entry.

"Maybe not." They entered into the library into a heap, the heroes running towards the computer along the far wall.

"We can all Zeta to the Cave if you authorize access to the tubes," Aqualad said to Martian Manhunter. Martian Manhunter nodded, a solider slung over his shoulder.

"I can only authorize one at a time," Martian Manhunter warned, and Aqualad looked at the Air Force members.

"Then send the soldiers first!"

"Belay that order!" Ellis said, cocking his gun, ready to fight. "You seven are assets we cannot afford to lose!"

Aqualad seemed hesitant but agreed with a nod. Martian Manhunter pressed a button on the computer and spoke into an invisible microphone. A scanner appeared from above, bathing Martian Manhunter in green light.

"Martian Manhunter: Access Override: Zero-Seven."

"Recognized: Access Granted." The Zeta tube opened, and Miss Martian was the first in line to be scanned.

"Recognized: Miss Martian, B06."

Then she was gone, followed quickly by Robin and Kid Flash who disappeared when their names were called out. Honeybee noticed that some of the aliens had managed to make their way in, and she pulled out her stingers to send flying in their direction, narrowly avoiding blasts sent her way.

Superboy carried a solider to the Zeta tubes and insisted that the solider go before him, something Aqualad agreed to as long as Superboy was quick to follow. Honeybee knew Aqualad was expecting her next, and she felt a coil spin in her stomach as she realized what Aqualad was planning to do.

No. No more fallen friends.

"They need you more than they need me!" Aqualad called, pushing Martian Manhunter through the tube.

Honeybee launched another stinger, hitting the alien ship and causing it to fall to the side. She stepped back so that she was level with Aqualad and the soldiers, and Honeybee caught his arm before he could order her into the Zeta tube.

"You can't do this to them!" Honeybee ordered to Aqualad, and his face fell, realizing that Honeybee knew he was planning on sacrificing himself to get them all out. "They need a leader! And –", she pushed him into the line of the scanner, so that he was next to go, "—I can't watch another friend die!"

"Recognized: Aqualad, B02."

And then he was gone. Honeybee turned, raising a stinger, but she was too late, a disintegration ray was already leveled at her. It hit her straight on, and she screeched in pain as it made contact, dropping the stinger onto the ground in shock. Everything slowly went black, and her last thought before everything disappeared was, I'm coming home Mom.

You could have done so much more if you only had time
And when my time is up, have I done enough?
Will they tell your story?

Honeybee awoke from inky nothingness, a gasp in her throat and a searing pain above her right eye. The surface she was on was hard, like a table, and she sat up slowly, and saw she was in a circle of tables in the middle of the Cave, all of which had one of her teammates on it, in various states of confusion and disorientation. Various League members mingled about, looking just as confused and concerned as they rest of them were.

M'gann looked among them all in surprise, breathing heavily as she took in each one of her friends.

"You're all alive!" M'gann gasped. Batman was in the room, and he turned to Martian Manhunter.

"The exercise?" Batman asked. "What happened in there?"

"Exercise?" Robin questioned, looking up at his mentor.

"Try to remember," Batman said as gently as he could manage. "What you experienced was a training exercise. All seven of you were physically linked within an artificial reality. You all knew this going in. What you didn't know was that it was a trained-for-failure exercise. No matter what you accomplished, the situation was designed to get worse. Still, you were aware nothing was real, even the death of the entire Justice League."

"That's why you hardly grieved, even when Wolf was disintegrated right in front of your eyes," Martian Manhunter explained softly.

Honeybee looked over at where Wolf had buried it's head into Superboy's lap. Honeybee frowned. That blankness, that feeling of nothingness, that was what that was. There was every reason for her to grieve, and she did nothing but stop and watch.

"But all of that changed when Artemis died," Martian Manhunter continued. Artemis looked down at the ground with a frown, unwilling to look at anyone. "Though consciously Miss Martian knew it was no real, her subconscious could not make that distinction. She forgot it was not real, causing all of you to forget too."

Honeybee swung her legs over the side of table she was housed on, and she furrowed her brow. It wasn't real? None of it – not the deaths or the grief or anything. Just…..images in her brain. Nothing more, nothing less. Honeybee turned to where Miss Martian was, watching as the young girl struggled to come to terms with what she had accidently done.

"I-I'm so sorry!" Miss Martian cried, tears flowing freely. Superboy rushed to defend her.

"It's not her fault!" Superboy said. "Why didn't you stop the exercise?!"

"We tried," Martian Manhunter insisted. "But M'gann had a death grip on the scenario. Even Artemis – who should have woken upon her death – was so certain she had passed on that she slipped into a coma. I realized I would have to wrestle control from Miss Martian's subconscious from within. But upon entering, I was so overwhelmed by your collective emotion. Their was too much noise to think clearly, to remember why I was there. The death of Honeybee helped, as did Superboy and Aqualad. Only when Kid Flash and Robin perished was it quiet enough for me to remember my true reason to be there." He looked sadly at his niece. "To shock M'gann out of the exercise before your comas became permanent." He looked among them sadly. "I'm so sorry. I had no idea a training exercise could be so….dangerous. So damaging…"

Honeybee watched as he turned away, falling and needing to be caught by Batman and Red Tornado.

Honeybee turned away, looking out amongst her friends. Miss Martian had her head buried in Captain Marvel's chest, bawling her eyes out as she tried to reconcile what she had done. Superboy stood nearby, petting Wolf's fur and watching M'gann with a quiet, thoughtful expression. Kid Flash was sitting with Robin, the two of them silent as they seemed to try and understand what just happened to the two of them. Aqualad and Artemis were talking lowly between themselves, upset but not crying.

And Honeybee? Honeybee was….Honeybee was…

Honeybee wanted her mom. Even more than she did in the exercise, when she felt alone and helpless. Now she felt alone and helpless again, but in a different way. She was in a hole of emotion, emotion that was impossible to climb out of it as she struggled to understand what had happened. She wanted a hug from her mom and a promise that it would be better. That this was going to be okay.

But it wasn't okay. And Honeybee did not know when it would be again.

Oh, I can't wait to see you again
It's only a matter of time
Will they tell your story?
Who lives, who dies, who tells your story?

Chapter Bible Verse:

"Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him for he cares for you." - 1 Peter 5:6-7

This chapter was a beast to write because it's just such an emotional rollercoaster. But Disordered is next, and it's one I've been ready to write since we've started because Betty needs some help and she's finally going to get it.

Oh, and I noticed that in the episode their were no location tags because they never actually left the Cave, so I followed suit, so that's why they're missing this chapter. They'll return next time!

Song excerpts are from "Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story" from Hamilton.

Review Replies:

Guest: Oh yes! I love "Mr Perfectly Fine", it's my favorite From the Vault song off "Fearless"! I'm glad you liked the song choice and the chapter! Have a blessed day!

AlphaGodzilla19: Jason is going to die and come back, but given we don't know how in canon this happened, I'm not going to say for sure that's the path for Jason. We'll get Red Hood, but not for a long while. Thanks for leaving a review, have a blessed day!

MsRosePetal: Ivo knows about Betty, he helped raise for the first few years of his life, but as far as Betty knows he does not know she's Honeybee. And as I've switched to a Conner/OC story, all that's going on between Robin and Honeybee is a friendship at this point. I have plans for them to still have an interesting and dynamic relationship to read, but they just didn't have the chemistry I expected. Thanks for leaving a review, and have a blessed day!
