The triage station was far away from where we were, so we could only see the invading 'villains' from a distance. At the head, the pro hero Gang Orca looked to be the leader.

"What should we do?" said Uraraka, looking at me.

Jirou, Aoyama, and the others had turned to me as well. Everyone there expected me to give the orders.

Should we go in and try to help at the front lines? There are still a lot of injured HUC members here - but the other students could certainly help with rescuing them, and they have more experience, while we have more experience in battle - perhaps that is our forte - should we - but the nagain, it is a test on rescuing - in order to pass - how?

My head was starting to spin again. Too many possibilities all fighting each other - I was keeping cool on the outside, but inside my head was starting to get heavy with the pressure of leadership.

Then, from a distance, I saw an iceberg blocking Gang Orca's path forward. An iceberg. Todoroki.

Right. Against a pro hero like Gang Orca, strong offensive quirks will be required. Something with enough power to keep him at bay. Most of us here have quirks that will be better suited to rescue - in this situation, at least.

I turned to them. "We continue the rescue operation. Prioritize the safety of the victims!"

I was met with nods, confident looks. Jirou placed her headphone jacks in the ground again to listen for emergencies, for the sounds of more people in danger. Uraraka returned to raising rubble, floating citizens out of the way. I turned my attention back to the search for victims.

"Jirou? What do you hear?"

"Gang Orca's sonic thing keeps interfering with the sound," she grumbled. "But I can hear a few more people - that way!"

She indicated and I followed, Uraraka coming with me. "We'll save them, Yaoyorozu! I know we will!"

We came upon more HUC victims, reaching out and calling our names. I knelt down besides one, a small boy, and smiled. "We're here to help you, young man. It will be all right now. We're here."

I don't think I realized at the time that what I was saying was rather like All Might's old catchphrase.

In any case, in the chaos, the wild running about to find victims, as I called to Uraraka, she to me, as Jirou directed us, as we evacuated the victims to a safer area, there wasn't time for much thought, other than the needs of the moment. Get everyone to safety, protect the victims at all costs.

It was an abrupt shock when -

BZZZZT!

And the announcer said, "AHEM! AT PRESENT, EVERY LAST HUC MEMBER ON THE FIELD HAS BEEN RESCUED FROM IMPEDING DANGER. THEREFORE, I DECLARE THAT THIS TEST IS OVER! THE RESULTS WILL BE ANNOUNCED ONCE ALL THE SCORES ARE TALLIED. THOSE WITH INJURIES, PLEASE PROCEED TO THE MEDICAL AREA. EVERYONE ELSE GET CHANGED AND STAND BY FOR INSTRUCTIONS.

I rejoined my classmates, dressed again in my school uniform. Jirou and Uraraka were waiting for me, and both looked unbelievably nervous - but Jirou most of all, as she was sweating, breathing deeply ,and had placed her hand to her chest as if her heart was pounding.

"The waiting is the worst part," she mumbled, exhaling, looking downcast.

I reached out a hand and placed to on her shoulder.

"I understand. But as long as you gave it your all, everything will be all right."

I believe it too. We did our best, all of us. And that's all that we can do.

We gathered together before the announcer again.

"IT'S BEEN A LONG BATTLE, BOYS AND GIRLS, BUT NOW IT'S TIME FOR THE RESULTS. BEFORE THAT THOUGH…REGARDING THE SCORING SYSTEM, WE OF THE HEROES PUBLIC SAFETY COMMISSION, ALONG WITH THE MEMBERS OF HUC WERE DEDUCTING POINTS ON TWO ISSUES AS WE WATCHED YOU PERFORM. ESSENTIALLY, WE JUDGED YOU ON YOUR ABILITY TO ACT FLAWLESSLY IN A CRISIS. ANYHOW, HERE ARE THE NAMES OF THOSE WHO PASSED THE TEST, IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER. KEEPING EVERYTHING IV'E SAID IN MIND, PLEASE TAKE A LOOK."

I looked up and saw, near the very end - my heart skipped a beat -

YAOYOROZU MOMO

I had done it.

I'd passed!
