part 3. daylight

GOTHAM CITY

JANUARY 1ST 2016 16:13 EST

Superboy was dimly aware of the rest of Delta Squad buzzing around in the back of his head, the same noise that come with every mission with M'gann. He had long since gotten used to it; it was like a constant whispering from the back of a classroom – a little annoying, but mostly ignorable if you tried hard enough. That was the only way he could stand having it, was that the buzz was mostly something he could ignore now when it wasn't needed. Or else he wouldn't let her in his head at all.

Superboy raced down the Gotham sewer, his nose wrinkled form the smell of waste and old stone. Of course, Clayface had to choose the most disgusting place in Gotham to be. Could he have not chosen a park? Or maybe even just a regular street? Superboy was grateful this meant no civilians were in play, but it also meant he would be smelling like rotten garbage for at least a week.

He skittered to a halt when he saw a small pile of gray clay on the ground, a foot or so away from the sewer water. He knew Clayface was going to use it as a means to trick him into stopping, Superboy had fallen for that trick one too many times for him not to have learned from it and use it to their advantage. Any second Clayface was due to make his grand appearance and capture him, leaving way for M'gann Robin, and Mariposa to distract him long enough so that Superboy could stop Clayface with the new pill that would harden him into a stone-like stand.

On cue, a tendril of clay shot up from the water, snatching up Conner and sending him flying into the newly assembled Clayface's chest. Superboy attempted to fight it on instinct, squirming in the man of clay's grasp.

"You always fall for this gag!" Clayface taunted as Superboy continued to struggle, but it was for naught, as Superboy began to be swallowed whole by the chest of Clayface. "Struggle all you want, kid! Even a Kryptonian needs to breathe!"

"Let him go!" Superboy heard muffled through the clay, and then he could breathe again. Clayface was pulled apart telepathically by M'gann, and Superboy dropped down into the water, covered in splotches of clay that was splattered across his hair and clothes, splotches even stuck to his skin.

"Delta Squad, we've flushed out the target," M'gann telepathically said to the Squad. "Converge on our signal."

"We can play this all day, missy," Clayface taunted. "Nothing you do hurts me!"

In the shadows, two figures moved behind Clayface, and then out came two birdarangs and a purple stinger, inserting themselves into Clayface's back. The two birdarands exploded, and the stinger coated Clayface in electricity, but neither did anything to stop or slow Clayface. Clayface laughed and turned to face the direction that the three projectiles had come from, and Superboy saw a flash of a sneer before the monster turned from them.

"That don't work anymore," Clayface smirked, and Superboy saw his opening. He pulled the pill from his pant pocket and took one step forward.

"Then try this!" Superboy called, and Clayface turned to face Superboy again, prepping for some kind of battle between the pair. Clayface never got the chance to strike, as Superboy launched the pill into Clayface's mouth. Clayface let our a strangled yell before he began to choke, dark clay turning to white sand-like stone as the substance fell from his mouth like a river. Clayface let out one more startled choke before he silenced, still and quiet as he sat motionless in the river.

Superboy smiled and gazed past the side of Clayface.

"The distraction went off as planned, Robin, Mariposa," Superboy congratulated, mostly for the benefit of the young, new Robin. The said boy stepped out from the shadows, a bo-staff slung over his shoulder. It was easy to see the differences between this Robin and the two that came before – this one had hair cropped short like Roy's had once been, even if it was still dark black, and he had a square face unlike Dick or Jason. His cape had a jagged edge to it, and his costume was a solid top of red with black leggings and boots, not spider-like webs of black on the red like Jason's had had.

"Thanks, just happy it worked," Robin said humbly. A figure stepped out from behind him, punching him lightly on the shoulder, a good-natured tease on their lips.

"Don't be modest Robin," they said. "You did good."

Superboy smiled at the figure, taking in his best friend as the revealed themselves from the shadows. Betty was no longer Honeybee – now she was Mariposa, a name she took on a few short months after Jason died. Mariposa as a hero was a far cry from that of Honeybee, physically at least. Mariposa was dressed in a lavender tunic that fell to just above her knees and a pair of dark purple leggings with black boots that ran to her knees. She had a utility belt pulled around her middle, a giant butterfly symbol emblazoned on her chest and two fingerless gloves that ran to her elbow over sleeveless arms. Her face was adorned with a dark magenta domino mask, hiding her identity from those not already in the know of who she was.

She looked…. grown-up. Something that shocked Superboy every time he saw her in the costume. Conner had met her when she was fourteen – a grieving, lonely fourteen-year-old. Even as she grew, he had always thought of her as younger than him, two years at fourteen and sixteen made a huge difference; and he had thought of her as a friend and sister, a little one at that. But now she was different, all grown up and a real hero, with an official invitation to join the Justice League, just like him.

Superboy shook his head and he heard Beast Boy make his entrance.

"Oh, man, is it over already?" Beast Boy complained lightly. "I didn't even get a souvenir for the trophy room."

Blue Beetle flew over them in his exoskeleton, his wings extended, and he stopped in front of Beast Boy, still hovering a few feet over the young boy. Blue Beetle sniffed and then brought a hand to his nose, looking at Beast Boy in disgust.

"Phoo!" Blue Beetle said. "Dude, I think that smell qualifies." Bumblebee made her appearance, flittering down in her miniature size, wings flapping at beats hundred per minute. Their had been some confusion at first when Bumblebee first joined, flipping over from having a teammate named Honeybee versus one named Bumblebee, but Betty had been Mariposa long enough that it wasn't an issue now. Most everyone knew her as Mariposa now; Honeybee was now but a treasured memory.

At least until Betty passed it down to someone else.

Miss Martian landed from where she was levitating, hitting the ground with a gentle thud. The Squad converged on her, and Miss Martian reached for the comn in her ear.

"Delta Squad to Cave," Miss Martian said. "Target neutralized."

"Good work, Delta Squad. Come on home. Nightwing out."

MOUNT JUSTICE

JANUARY 1ST 2016 18:18

"Recognized: Superboy – B04. Recognized: Mariposa – B06. Recognized: Miss Martian – B07. Recognized: Bumblebee – B18. Recognized: Beast Boy – B20. Recognized: Robin – B21. Recognized: Blue Beetle – B23."

Returning to the Cave had not been as simple as just leaving Clayface in the sewers. They had to wait for the men from Arkham Asylum to show up in order to bring in the now solidified Clayface to his usual cell, but he wouldn't solidified for long and it would be soon enough that Clayface found another way out of Arkham, and they were sent onto another mission to bring him in. Arkham could try as they could, but it just didn't have the same tech and budget that Belle Reve did to keep the criminals inside.

It had taken almost an hour and a half to make sure he was put away in a cell, which meant they were just now returning to the Cave. Mariposa stepped inside, her black boots clicking against the stone floor as she made her way over to the other members of the Team still left in the Cave. She was pretty sure Beta Squad had been deployed right after they left to take care of something in New York.

That left La'gann, Nightwing, and Mal in the Cave for the welcome home greeting. M'gann wasted no time in skittering to La'gann and greeting him with a smile and a kiss. Mal greeted his girlfriend Bumblebee and they talked briefly, out of earshot of Mariposa as Bumblebee was rushing to the showers. Mariposa walked past M'gann and La'gann with Conner, walking stiffly and not giving them a second look.

"Welcome home, anglefish," La'gann greeted.

"Thank you, La'gann." The Martian and Atlantean kissed, and Mariposa looked away and walked over to Nightwing. Conner frowned in irritation and annoyance at the show of affection, walking past them with an aura of anger around him. Wolf let out a sound of pleasure as he saw his owner come closer, and Conner gave him a quick pet before he kept walking towards the showers.

"I'm hitting the showers," Conner grunted. Mariposa shared a quick look with Nightwing, and he gave her a quick nod, telling her to go after her best friend but to return quickly for a briefing. Mariposa rushed after her friend, meeting him in the hallway.

"Hey, Supe, wait up!" Mariposa called after him. Conner stopped, turning to face her in confusion, his brow still furrowed in aggravation with the two lovebirds in the main room. Conner puts his hands on his hips and looked at her expectantly. "It's still early. I was thinking we could meet up for dinner or something."

Conner raised a brow, and he looked over her shoulder. Mariposa turned to look, and saw where M'gann and La'gann were still talking, wrapped in each other's arms.

"Not in the mood Betts."

Mariposa turned back to face him and went to put a hand on his shoulder but hesitated when she remembered it was still covered in sewer gunk.

"Come on, it'll be fun," Mariposa insisted. "My treat. It'll help get your mind off…." She bit her lip and crossed her arms behind her back. "… things."

Conner stared quietly for a moment longer before sighing heavily, and Mariposa could tell he was giving in, which caused her to smile. Conner shook his head, causing his hair to swoosh in front of his blue eyes, and straightened up.

"Alright, fine," Conner gave in. He smiled – just a little, small smile, but a smile none the less. Which was exactly what she wanted to get out of him. "You're incorrigible, you know?"

"You know, we took our SATs, no need to use million-dollar words," Mariposa joked, and Conner rolled his eyes. Mariposa grinned, excited to see some happier emotion start to return to her friend's form. He had been so down in the dumps and angry since M'gann started dating La'gann last month. Not that she could blame him – they didn't break up because they stopped loving each other, it was because Conner felt he had no other choice.

"Whatever you say, Betts," Conner said, turning away from her. "I'll catch up with you after my shower."

Mariposa watched him go for a moment more, excitement growing in her at spending time with her friend soon, before she turned on her heel and retreated back to where Nightwing was discussing the mission with Robin and M'gann. Mariposa made her way back towards them, a new skip in her step.

"The mission was a success," M'gann informed as Mariposa stepped within earshot. The Martian smiled down at Robin warmly and put a hand on the young boy's shoulder. "Robin here was the real star of the mission. His distraction went off without a hitch."

Robin blushed and rubbed the back of his neck. "I didn't really –"

"Like I said, don't be modest," Mariposa cut in. "You did great out there."

M'gann frowned at Mariposa, and she pretended not to see it. M'gann was currently not Betty's biggest fan right now, since Betty had taken Conner's side in the break-up. Conner had kept the truth of what M'gann had done close to his chest, not telling anyone except for Betty, and that had made Betty and M'gann's relationship tense to say the least. Betty found it hard to look at M'gann the same after knowing what she did to Conner, and that meant aside from missions, any former friendship between the two of them had been almost evaporated. Gone were the days of girl days and surprise parties, leaving in it's place glares and silence.

Robin looked down at his feet, wringing his hands nervously.

"Thanks guys."

Mariposa looked over at where Mal was typing away on the computer screen, watching as red trackers came closer to the United Nations building in New York. Mariposa tilted her head to the side and motioned up to the computer screen in front of them.

"What's going on?" Mariposa asked.

"Someone or something is attacking the Secretary General Tseng," Nightwing said. "Beta Squad is on the mission." Mariposa nodded and crossed her arms, a bit of concern spiking in her, but she had confidence in Wonder Girl and Batgirl. They could totally take care of whatever it was that they were facing. Especially since Batgirl was the one and only Barbara Gordon, one of the smartest and stubborn people that Mariposa knew. She could handle anything that was thrown at her. Wonder Girl too.

"Beta Squad just arrived on scene," Mal informed. Mariposa nodded and then put her hands on her hips.

"Let me know how it goes," Mariposa said. "I'm gonna change and head out, if that's alright with y'all."

Nightwing was silent for a long moment, watching the tracker on the screen. Then he nodded and turned back to her.

"You're good to head out, Mari."

METROPOLIS

JANUARY 1ST 2016 20:33 EST

Betty slid into the booth seat across from Conner, smiling at her friend, both ignoring the Bibbo menu at end of the table. Bibbo's Diner was a favorite of the Superfamily, and Betty might go so far as to say it was her favorite diner after the Cookie Cutter of course. The only reason that she didn't suggest they go to the Cookie Cutter tonight was because that was where they went last time they met for a meal.

"I'm feeling the carrot cake tonight," Betty said, and Conner laughed under his breath.

"When are you not feeling sweets?" Conner asked. "You're always either baking them or eating them."

Betty smiled and finally reached for the menu at the edge of the linoleum table.

"I have a sweet tooth, what can I say?"

Conner still did not reach for a menu, and Betty knew that the half-Kryptonian already knew what he wanted to eat. He was a creature of habit and he always ordered the same thing. He had an order ready for pretty much every place and he stuck to it almost religiously. For Bibbo's, it was a veggie burger with no mustard and fries. If he ordered something else, she would be surprised beyond belief.

"The mission today went well, don't you think?" Betty said, pursuing the menu even though she already knew what she wanted and what was on the menu. Conner scoffed and leaned back against his side of the booth.

"You mean where I was bait?" Conner inquired. Betty rolled her eyes and flipped the menu over to the other side.

"You're good as bait," Betty teased. "Best I've ever seen." Conner frowned, but not unkindly, and leaned his chin down onto his hand.

"See how you like being bait," Conner said. Betty twirled a strand of her hair around her finger and put down the menu, already decided on a slice of carrot cake and a tall glass of milk.

"We've all done our turn as bait," Betty returned. "It was just your turn."

Conner grinned, and Betty felt her chest explode at that smile. He hardly ever smiled after the break-up with M'gann. After such a terrible end to their relationship, Betty supposed that was just what happened to someone. Betty had made her mission to bring his mood back up, make him forget for a few minutes just how horrible what happened to him was. She couldn't make it so it didn't happen, but she could make him smile at least.

A waitress appeared at their table, smiling a cheery smile and her red hair piled up in a bun atop her head. Betty couldn't recall seeing this particular waitress before with all the times they came here – she must be new.

"Can I get you two started with anything?" she asked in a polite tone. Conner nodded and slid the menu closer to her to take.

"I'll have the veggie burger, no mustard, with fries please," Conner answered. He motioned with his head to Betty and Betty handed her menu back to the waitress.

"Carrot cake and milk please," Betty continued, and the young woman smiled at them as she scribbled it down onto her book.

"Alright, I'll have that out in just a minute," she said, before disappearing with a quick turn of her heel. Conner and Betty were enveloped in a moment of silence, and Betty let cascade over them for several moments, content to just spend time with her best friend. When you knew someone long enough, you just didn't need to speak, as you already knew everything about the other.

Conner was the one to break the silence.

"You thought anymore about the League's offer?" Conner asked, which made Betty's smile drop and thin into a line. Less than a month ago she had received an open invitation to join the League alongside Nightwing, Zatanna, and Rocket. Nightwing, like her, had refused, but Zatanna and Rocket had taken them up on the offer. Conner had been offered one years ago but he never took it.

But Betty had refused at the time, wanting more time to think over the decision before she came to a final one. Betty didn't have anything against the League, she really didn't, but she felt in her heart it wasn't where she was supposed to be right now. Mariposa was needed on the Team, not on the League. There were so many new people on the Team, and they all needed guidance from the older members.

And after Jason….

Betty shut her eyes. She couldn't let another member of the Team end up like Jason. Not when she had the ability to help others in a way she hadn't been able to Jason. Not when he needed her most.

Betty shook her head. "I don't—I don't think that it's for me. Not now."

Conner nodded sagely and reached to take her hand.

"You don't have to join if you don't want to," Conner whispered, and Betty smiled at him.

"I know," Betty said. "I'm happy here. With you and everyone else."

Silence once again overtook them, and Betty stared at the little green specks in his eyes. A warmth grew in her chest the longer she stared in her friend's eyes, a kind of warmth that she hadn't felt before, and it made her feel…. safe here with him. It wasn't often in their line of work that they ever felt safe, not truly, yet somehow, she did. At least for right now, in this moment with Conner, slid into this booth.

Conner cleared his throat and turned away from her, and the feeling started to fade into smoke, gone and leaving behind only whispers of the feeling. Betty let go of his hand, and primly sat it in her lap. Conner shifted awkwardly, thought Betty couldn't pinpoint why he would be, and then he shook his head.

"Besides," Betty said, "Waspia is already on the League. Don't want to encroach on her space."

Waspia had joined the League nearly two years ago, after the League observed her long enough to see that she was a worthy successor to the original Waspia, their friend and teammate. Betty had to admit that she didn't think anyone could be a better Waspia than Melody, and she dreaded the day that Melody decided it was time for Betty to be Waspia.

She knew it was coming, that one day Aunt Melody would decide it was time for Betty to take on her so-called destiny as the next Waspia. Aunt Melody told her as such, that she was just a placeholder until Betty was ready. But Betty didn't want it. She was fine being Mariposa, being her own person and hero. She knew she could never live up to her mother or her aunt, so she was fine just being who she was for now.

Maybe someday, Betty mused quietly to herself. But certainly not today was she ready, nor would she be in the near future.

At this their food arrived, and the polite waitress slid Conner's veggie burger and Betty's carrot cake onto the table.

"Can I get y'all anything else?" the woman asked, and Betty shook her head.

"No, thank you, I think we're alright. Conner?" Betty said, turning to her friend. Conner nodded in agreement with Betty and smiled at the waitress.

"We're okay."

The woman smiled warmly and clapped her hands together.

"Well, alright then. Y'all enjoy your date!" And then she turned on her heel to leave. Betty's eyes widened at the same time at Conner's, and both turned in the direction the waitress went.

"We're not on a –" Betty tried, but the woman was already gone. Betty sighed and ran a hand through her shoulder length hair, now out of her Mariposa pigtails. Conner rolled his eyes and picked up his burger to eat.

"Just let her be, Betts," Conner told her. Betty picked up her fork and took a bite of her cake. "Besides, you could do a lot worse."

Betty laughed and picked off the small carrot candy decorating the top of her cake, popping it in her mouth.

"Let full of yourself today, are we?" Betty teased. Conner grinned.

"You did say I was the best bait you've ever seen," Conner argued lightly. "Can't expect me not to get a big head after compliments like that."

WATCHTOWER

JANUARY 3RD 17:06 EST

Mariposa stood on the main deck of the Watchtower, standing between Miss Martian and Superboy as they waited for the briefing to start. Nightwing stood a few paces in front of them, as the leader of the Team he would be the Team's voice in the meeting, even if as a senior member of the Team Mariposa was allowed the right to sit in on the briefing.

Capitan Atom, the new League Chairman; Batman, one of the Green Lanterns John Stewart, and Martian Manhunter stood in front of the holocomputer, which was playing the security camera footage of Batgirl and Wonder Girl's fight with an alien at the United Nations Assembly building. Their opponent was a tall, bulky alien with page-white skin and a black mohawk, dressed in what Mariposa supposed was an alien version of grunge, who tore apart the Secretary General Tseng to reveal a small, square-headed light green alien piloting a robot version of the General.

Mariposa found this to be frightening for many numerous reasons, the first of which was wondering where Tseng was exactly and who had been the one to replace him. This battle brought up many questions it seemed that they didn't have the answers to, which made it all seem so overwhelming, as it seemed to imply an alien invasion of some sort was on it's way, even if it was small. Was their such thing as a small alien invasion?

Betty shook her head, and she heard the computer call out that it recognized the newest members of the League coming aboard, Zatanna and Rocket.

"This guy's Lobo," Green Lantern explained, pausing the video feed on Lobo tearing apart the robotic Tseng. "An intergalactic bounty hunter. Extremely dangerous but not likely to return." Green Lantern narrowed his eyed and zoomed in on the picture of the light green alien on the feed. "The little guy's another story. That's a Krolotean, and Krolotean's always travel in packs."

Which meant alien invasion.

"Which means more of them are on Earth," Capitan Atom surmised. Martian Manhunter stepped forward, motioning to a blond man in the corner, who stepped forward nervously.

"I believe my friend might have vital information on that point," Martian Manhunter cut in. "Some of you have not met Adam Strange of STAR Lab's Edel Initiative." Strange raised a hand in an anxious wave. "He is the scientist responsible for maintaining the Zeta beam technology we use for teleportation."

"I was wondering why a stranger was allowed on the top-secret Watchtower," Superboy cut in to the mindlink. Mariposa put her hands on her hips and looked over Strange critically, finding little threat from the man.

"And he has a story to tell," Martian Manhunter finished, and all attention turned on Strange.

"Uh, it's a bit involved," Strange started. Strange bit his lip and rubbed his arms. "I wish I had visual aids or something…."

Martian Manhunter grinned kindly. "I can assist you."

Martian Manhunter cut through all their minds like a knife through butter, connecting all in the room together in a mindlink. Mariposa could already hear the buzz of the other's minds in the back of her head.

"We are all linked mentally," Martian Manhunter thought. "What you remember, we will see."

"Uh….great." Strange started to remember, and pictures started to flood Mariposa's head as Strange's memory started to filter through all of their minds. "Well, I was preforming a routine Zeta tube upgrade when something went wrong. I found myself transported halfway across the galaxy to a planet called Rann. There was a scientist there, Saradath. He was conducting his own experiments on enhanced…..very enhanced Zeta beam technology. It took weeks to establish basic communication, but Saradath eventually made me understand – some of his Zeta beam technology had been stolen."

The pictures and thoughts stopped, and Mariposa knew this was the end of his story. Mariposa supposed it was a rather involved story – she could hardly imagine being zapped halfway across the galaxy with no way to communicate.

"Fits the Krolotean M.O.," Green Lantern sniffed. "Their entire culture revolves around stolen tech."

"Saradath had detected transmissions from a single point on Rann to multiple locations on Earth," Strange continued. "He was attempting to trace those when he accidently transported me to Rann." He handed Capitan Atom a small, black device. "He gave me this, it detects Zeta radiation. It can pinpoint all places on Earth where Krolotean's have transported to Earth."

Capitan Atom nodded. "Then I'm ordering a two-pronged attack. We'll stage simultaneous raids on ever Krolotean target on Earth, while a contingent of Leaguers travel to Rann with Strange to cut them off at the source."

Strange shifted on his feet uneasily and held up a small black device, where a holoscreen popped up, revealing changing portraits of the six Leaguers who disappeared for sixteen hours during Vandal Savage's mental domination of the entire League. They had been trying for years to figure out what happened during those hours, and it seemed they might finally get some answers.

"Ahem. But we might have a problem with the second prong," Strange explained. "Totally unclear on the why, but Earthlings are person not grata on in Rann's corner of the galaxy, and these six Leaguers are wanted criminals."

"Batman!" Nightwing said, mind working miles per minute. "The missing sixteen hours!"

"Agreed." Batman squared on the confused Strange. "Five years ago, Vandal Savage took complete mental control of the entire Justice League. These exact six leaguers went missing for sixteen hours. It never even occurred to us that Vandal might have sent us into space."

"I'll alert Hal," Green Lantern said. "He's on Oa with Guy, meeting with the Green Lantern Corps."

"Meanwhile, we have 15 other active Leaguers on active duty we can send to Rann," Captain Atom said. Strange sighed and held up the holodevice, where profiles of each Leaguer popped up with alien language written beneath their pictures.

"You're not getting it," Strange explained. "There's a planetary watch alert out for every Leaguer."

"Not all of us are Leaguers," Nightwing cut in. "I can send a squad to handle the Rann end of things and to find out more about the missing sixteen hours, without causing an intergalactic incident."

Capitan Atom hesitated for a moment and then he nodded at Nightwing. "Do it."

Mariposa turned to leave with the other senior members of the Team, coming face to face with Zatanna and Rocket. Mariposa smiled at her former teammates, and Zatanna reached out a hand to them.

"That thing about you not being Leaguers…" Zatanna interjected into a quickly established mindlink by Miss Martian. "You four still have an open invitation to –"

"We know, Z," Nightwing cut her off.

"But we're all pretty happy," Miss Martian thought.

"Right where we are," Superboy added.

"For right now," Mariposa finished for them.

Zatanna nodded in understanding, and her and Rocket moved out of the way for the four of them to leave by Zeta tube.

"You should visit the Cave soon," Miss Martian said as they passed. "We miss having you two around."

Rocket grinned and put her hands on her hips. "We miss you guys too. You better believe we'll stop by soon."

Mariposa smiled at her friend, and she was struck by how much older all of them really were. They were adults now, with invites to the League. Rocket had already graduated college and had a son, and Zatanna was a successful magician outside of the League, just like her father had been. Nightwing was enrolled at Gotham U, and Conner and Mariposa were enrolled at Ivy Town College.

Gone were the days of youthful joy, replaced by responsibility that came with being older. They had lived outside of being heroes, lives that were more than school that could be cast off with doctors notes and excuses. They had dreams and hopes and they were actually working towards them now.

When had that happened? Had time really passed so quickly that she hadn't noticed them growing up?

Mariposa looked over her shoulder at the still up holocomputer. Mariposa supposed if they were going to fight an alien invasion, then they needed to be a little more grown-up. The bunch of kids they once were she wasn't sure could handle this. But she knew they could now.

As long as they all stuck together, then they could do anything.

"Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: And he that shutheth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding." - Proverbs 17:28

And season 2 is upon us! We're not entering the more romance parts of the story, which I'm very excited to write. I always planned on seaosn 2 being the season were the main pairing comes together, even back when this was a RobinxOC story, so it took some adjusting to work it for a ConnerxOC story, but I think I have it figured out.

And what do you think of Betty's new codename? I knew after Jason, she would shed Honeybee and take on Mariposa, so I've tried to work in some butterfly motive foreshadowing. But this is not the end of Honeybee, not by a long shot.

Review Replies:

MsRosePetal: The moment I found out what M'gann did, I could never look at her the same. She tries to redeem herself later on at the end of the season, but I feel like what she did to Conner crossed a line. M'gann is just way too toxic for Conner, and I wanted Conner to move in Seaosn 3 rather than take her back. Especially after keeping secrets in that season - they just don't work as a couple! Have a blessed day!
