Kelso walked into the basement with a big, dopey grin on his face as he was laughing.
"Guess who made out with Pam Macy behind the gym?"
"Everyone." Hyde bluntly replied the obvious.
"No! Me!" He bragged, proudly pointing at himself.
"Kelso, a lot of people hang out behind the gym." Forman knew that was a dumb move on Kelso's part because everyone did hangout behind the gym. It's most likely that Jackie would know about it or if her friends saw it and passed the news to Jackie.
If Jackie knew that Kelso made out with the slut of the school, they'd definitely break up, which means...no more ski trip.
But Hyde found himself that he really didn't care about that. Something like this was bound to have happened. Kelso flirted with girls behind Jackie's back before and even gave second glances to other girls right in front of her face. Hyde knew Kelso would crack eventually, and since he didn't want to be the one to break up with Jackie, he decided to hurt her in the worst way possible.
That would be considered unforgivable in any relationship.
But Hyde knew that girls would come back to their cheaters. He saw it all the time with Edna.
"Yeah, that's what's so great about it. Everybody saw it!" Kelso stupidly said, clearly being proud of himself.
"Oh, that's great, man," Hyde sarcastically replied. "Because now everybody can tell Jackie, you moron!" His anger leashed out when he called Kelso that because that's who he truly was. Once word will get out because of the bunch of witnesses, Jackie will definitely hear about it. He hated that she'd get hurt because he saw it before when he first told her that Kelso secretly wanted to break up with her.
"Then she's gonna dump you, and we won't be able to go up to her ski cabin." Forman predicted."She's never gonna find out." Kelso denied.
Then...Jackie walked in.
From the look on her face, she already knew about it.
"You are a dog, Michael, a dirty, dirty dog!" Jackie angrily exclaimed at him with a face full of anger, hurt, and betrayal.
"What did I do?" Kelso pretended to act clueless.
Hyde had never wanted to punch him in the face so badly like he did at that moment.
"You kissed Pam Macy." Fez exposed the obvious, which made Kelso shriek in humiliation.
"I trust you, Michael, and now all my friends are laughing at me! I can't even show my face in the third floor bathroom anymore. And that's the cool bathroom!" Jackie complained, pointing at him to show how 'cool' the third floor bathroom was.
"But, I-" Kelso tried to give a lame excuse.
"No, Michael. We're through!" She declared. Hyde was impressed that Jackie officially cut her relationship off with him, and he was proud of her.
"Okay. If that's the way you want it, we're through. And Monday, when we get back from that skip trip, it's over."
"No, Michael, no, no, no, no," Jackie shook her head, an amused smirk on her face. "You won't be skiing this weekend."
"That's just great, Jackie. Cancel the ski trip and disappoint all our friends."
"No. We are still going," Then she crossed her arms. "Besides, is this how you wanted to break up with me all along?! Well, it looks like you finally got your wish, doesn't it?" Then she scornfully laughed to herself. "I can't believe that I felt guilty and horrible for kissing Steven while you go around and do something stupid like this!"
"What?!" Kelso, Forman, and Fez exclaimed in shock altogether.
Hyde just clenched his teeth together as his face remained neutral while the guys gaped at him in shock. He tried to act as if it wasn't a big deal. In a way, it wasn't. Jackie was the one who stopped the kiss before it could turn out into a make session. At least she didn't make out with him like how Kelso made out with Pam Macy.
"You heard me." She replied coldly and walked to the kitchen to sit down next to Fez. Forman moved his legs to give her room since he was sitting at the back of the couch.
Kelso was like a fish out of water that couldn't breathe. His best friend kissed his girlfriend? Since when did that happen? How could Hyde betray him like that? He hoped the other guys would still stick loyally by him.
"Well, they're surely not going without me. Right guys?"
There was just dead silence.
They were still going without him anyway.
"Oh, and did I mention my parents are not coming?" Jackie mentioned with a grin. "So, it'll be just us?"
Kelso's mouth gaped in shock as his face had fallen to disappointment and disbelief that everybody was going to ditch him. Trips without parents were always so much better.
And he wasn't even going to be a part of it.
"So, we'll see you Monday!" Forman happily exclaimed in celebration.
"Jackie, you can't be serious..." Kelso said.
"Oh, but I am." She replied, being smug.
Hyde smirked to himself, being proud of her.
"Fine!" Kelso angrily exclaimed, then stormed out of the basement like a child with a temper tantrum. He slammed the door on his way out.
At first, that felt like a knife to Jackie's chest at his reaction, but then it quickly vanished when she remembered that he cheated on her with Pam Macy. She and Hyde just kissed. It wasn't a full blown make out session like he had with Pam for the whole world to see. It's like he wanted to get caught. At least Jackie had stopped it, and Hyde was respectful about it.
"It's okay, Jackie, don't worry about him," Fez comforted and casually wrapped his arm around Jackie's shoulders. She looked at his hand and then to his face with a raised eyebrow, questioning his motives. "He's probably off to make out with Pam Macy again."
"You're probably right about that." Forman agreed with a snort.
Fez used his other to move Jackie's head down to rest her head on his chest.
"Feel free to cry it out if you want to," Then he petted Jackie on the top of her head. "Fez is here."
Jackie rolled her eyes, having enough of it. She roughly pushed Fez's hands off of her with irritation.
"Hey, I'm only here to console a friend with a broken heart!" Fez defended himself as Jackie moved away from him to put a space in between them. "You can kiss Hyde, but you can't cuddle with Fez?"
"What is that about anyway? You two...kissed each other?" Forman asked, being confused. He couldn't picture his best friend kissing the cheerleader.
"None of your business, Foreplay." Hyde snapped, making him back off.
"I thought you weren't ever going to use that name against me!" He felt hurt and betrayed.
Everybody was going to Jackie's cabin. Well, everybody except for Kelso. Since Jackie forbid him not to. Kelso felt left out, but it was his own fault that he screwed up with Jackie.
But it brought an opportunity for Hyde to sweep in.
"Jackie, I know you're going through a rough break up with Kelso and everything, but if you need a shoulder to cry on...I brought my double sleeping bag, you know?" Hyde suggestively smirked to Jackie when they're at the Forman's driveway about to leave for her cabin in Eric's Vista Cruiser.
Jackie gave him a look with a raised eyebrow. "You seriously think I'll actually sleep in a roll out bed?" She asked as if it was underneath her, catching Hyde off guard. Jackie shook her and rolled her eyes, walking away from him to talk to Donna.
Hyde sighed at having that failed big time.
"Oh, Hyde, I hated to see that," Fez approached him. "It is like Charlie Brown and the football."
"Yeah, man, I didn't know what that was about."
"And neither did Jackie." Fez laughed at his own joke, but Hyde didn't find it funny, and he just gave him an unamused stare. Fez slowly stopped laughing, being uncomfortable.
Meanwhile, in the Forman's kitchen, Kelso was still bummed about not being able to go up in the mountains with them. He knew what he did was wrong, but he thought Jackie shouldn't have excluded him from the trip. It was so unfair!
"Hey, Kelso," Forman greeted the taller and handsome teen, who angrily glared at him. He was carrying a rolled up sleeping bag with him. "Um, look, I just wanna make sure we're cool. Cause this weekend is, like, really important for me and Donna. So, thanks for understanding." He smiled and walked away to the sliding door.
"Yeah, I understand," Kelso replied bitterly. "I understand that we're not friends anymore."
"Okay, look, man, you brought this on yourself."
"But what about Jackie?" He argued. "She cheated on me, too! With Hyde of all people! Hyde! My best friend!"
Forman sighed at having to explain it to him. "Kelso, what Jackie did wasn't nearly as bad as what you did to her. You made out with Pam Macy in front of everyone."
Kelso sighed in defeat, slumping his shoulders. "I know I did, but that's no reason for me to suffer."
"No, that is a great reason for you to suffer!" He disagreed. "I'm going."
Forman went out to the driveway for the others.
"Fine! Go! See if I care," Suddenly, Kelso ran after him, and everybody was already in the car. "Come on, Eric. Come on, man."
After Red and Kitty gave their son last minute things like an emergency kit and sandwiches, Forman had started the car.
"Okay, I see what's going on. You're not really going skiing. This is all just a gag. You're trying to get me all worked up so you can go, 'Just kidding, buddy!' Yeah, you got me. That's a nice burn."
"It sure is," Forman muttered. "Bye-bye."
He got in the car and backed out of the driveway, and drove for the cabin. Red and Kitty waved, watching their son and his friends leave.
Later, after the car had hit ice, Forman used kitty litter to help them out. He was surprised that Red's advice had actually worked. That's what he needed to use kitty litter for. The old man wasn't going insane after all.
When that mishap was over, they continued driving to the cabin.
What felt like it's been hours later, the gang finally arrived at Alpine Valley and made it in one piece to Jackie's cabin.
Hyde looked around the cabin and admired that it wasn't actually that bad. It's a pretty sweet cabin the Burkharts own.
"Cool place you gave here, Jackie." Hyde complimented as he looked around and set his stuff down.
"Thanks, Steven," Jackie replied appreciatively. She went to talk to Forman and Donna. "There's only one bedroom. It was gonna be for Michael and I, but since our love is dead, you two should take it." She had sacrificed the only bedroom for them.
Forman excitedly turned to Donna right away, grinning. "All right, want to go check out our room?"
"Definitely." Donna was just as excited as he was.
They left for the bedroom and closed the door to do God knows what in there. Now it was Hyde, Jackie, and Fez in the main room.
Fez was shivering, and he dramatically collapsed onto the floor.
"I am freezing! The winter in my country is seventy degrees. We must hold each other for warmth!" Fez quickly grabbed onto Jackie's leg.
Hyde rolled his eyes at Fez and wanted to rip him off her.
"Stop touching me!" Jackie slapped on the top of his head. Fez let go of her then, and Hyde felt the tension in his muscles had loosened.
Fez curled himself to a ball with his back against the couch.
"Then I am going to die!" He cried.
"Hey, Fez - oooh!" Hyde was about to comfort him, but the molten, amber-colored liqueur bottle caught his attention that was on Jackie's father's liquor cabinet. "Amaretto. You know what, man? This'll warm you right up. Take a sip of that."
Hyde gave it to Fez and sat next to Jackie on the couch. Fez took a sip of it.
"Yum, liquid candy." He smiled and started to guzzle it down.
Hyde didn't expect him to drink it that fast, and he probably should've warned Fez to take it slow. Jackie was shocked at how much Fez was drinking it. She gave Hyde a look.
"You gave him my father's Amaretto?" Jackie angrily asked him.
"Seems like a girly drink to be your father's."
Jackie rolled her eyes and shook her head that he didn't understand. Hyde continued to marvel at Fez gulping the liqueur down, rarely taking breaths in between.
"Man, look at him go." Hyde was impressed.
"If he pukes, I am not going to clean it up!" Jackie had absolutely refused.
Five minutes later, Fez had finished the Amaretto. Might have been record breaker.
"Aw, my yummy liquid candy is gone!" He mourned when he gulped down the last drop. "Do you have any more?" He looked at Hyde, being thirsty.
"Well, let me see if-"
"No!" Jackie immediately exclaimed before Hyde could get up and see if there was anything else Fez could drink.
"That's okay. I feel so warm! The liquid candy is heating up my body! I feel so hot!" Fez started to take all of his clothes off. Even his underwear. Jackie's eyes widened in horror, and she had to turn her head and shield her eyes.
"Hey, Fez! Leave the underwear on, all right? Don't freeze your bits off!" Hyde advised.
"You're right! I can go outside and make a snow angel!" Fez excitedly got up, practically bouncing on his feet. "I'm gonna go out and make one right now!"
Fez ran out of the cabin with his arms out like an airplane and closed the door. Once he was gone, Jackie didn't have to cover her eyes anymore, thankfully, and it was also safe to look.
With Fez gone, it was only Hyde and Jackie. The last time they were sitting alone together like that was the day after Christmas; it was when they were in the Forman's basement, and they had their first kiss.
A part of Hyde wanted to do that again. Jackie and Kelso have officially broken up.
"So...we're alone." He pointed out the obvious.
"Yeah, we sure are." Jackie nodded in agreement.
The silence between them got awkward for some reason. Hyde thought he could have Jackie as his finally now that Kelso was out of the picture. Why couldn't they go as smoothly as they did the last time they were together?
What's worse was they could hear Forman and Donna giggling in the bedroom. Hyde and Jackie cringed at that. She got up and went to the radio to block out the lovebirds' noise.
"Ugh, want to listen to some music?" Jackie asked him as she was flipping through the stations. She smiled in delight when one of her favorites, Peter Frampton, was on.
Hyde didn't like him but thought it was cute how Jackie bobbed her head and swayed her hips a little to the song. She returned to her seat next to him on the couch.
"Jackie, I know you just broke up with Kelso, and what he did to you was low," Hyde began seriously. He was about to let his feelings be known to her even though he wasn't that kind of guy. The atmosphere and mood were set up nicely. They were up in the snowy mountains inside a cozy cabin with a fireplace crackling in front of them, and there was music softly playing in the background. Perfect timing to tell Jackie. "And maybe you're not ready for a relationship so soon, but I just want to let you know that...I like you. A lot, okay? I hated that I had feelings for my best friend's girlfriend. Now that you two split up, I was hoping that we can...I don't know. All I know is I like you a lot, and you should know. I mean, look at you. I can't help it."
Hyde's eyes looked at Jackie's beautiful face. They lingered on her lips longer than necessary. He cupped the side of her face with one hand, and they both leaned into each other about to kiss...
"Hey, guys? Can you turn the music down?" Forman had to interrupt their moment and stop the record.
Hyde and Jackie instantly spread apart from each other at having been caught. They acted as if they weren't about to kiss. He could kill Forman for cockblocking him!
Forman looked at them and noticed someone was missing.
"Okay, look, where's Fez?"
"Fez? He killed that entire bottle of Amaretto, and then he ran outside, saying he had to make a snow angel. But he was in his underwear." Hyde explained, approaching to Forman, as he got up from the couch when Donna sat with Jackie.
"Look, I'm gonna have to find Fez," He sighed, being frustrated that his moment with Donna got ruined. "So, just stay here with the girls, all right?"
"Yeah, I'll stay here with Jackie." He let those words slip out without thinking.
Forman gave him a look with a raised eyebrow. "I mean, both of them."
"Right! Yeah, both!"
Forman left to search for Fez, and Hyde got a can of beer out from the freezer. He grabbed one of his comic books to read and sat on the chair with his legs dangling over the armrest. Donna and Jackie were talking to each other. He blocked out what Donna was talking about when she was with Forman. He definitely didn't need those details.
Forman returned not only with a passed out Fez but with Kelso. They lazily slumped Fez over the couch.
"Look who's here!" Forman announced.
Jackie and Donna turned to look at him. Jackie stood up angrily and was pissed.
"Michael! You're not supposed to be here!" She marched right to her ex-boyfriend, fuming. "You're banned, remember?"
"What kind of ex-girlfriend are you to ban me?!" Kelso yelled.
Jackie rolled her eyes. "Michael, listen to me, stupid! I don't want you here!"
"Well, my real friends do! Isn't that right, Eric?" Kelso wrapped his arm around Forman's shoulders that he supported him. "He was happy to see me and even said he shouldn't have left me behind."
"Eric!" Donna scolded him with disapproval.
"What?" Forman asked innocently, brushing Kelso's arm off his shoulders. "I felt bad for him," He stood in between Kelso and Jackie. "Can't you guys just tolerate each other and enjoy the trip without biting the other's heads off?"
Jackie glared at Kelso meanwhile he hopefully looked at her. She was debating with herself if she should let Kelso stay or not.
"Fine," Jackie spat at her ex and angrily pointed her finger. "But you are sleeping on the floor with Fez, you dirty dog!"
Kelso actually looked like he was a dog that got hit on the ass with a newspaper.
"Fine..." He pouted.
Hyde was relieved that Jackie didn't take him back and that they were still not together. He felt the fury stirring up in him when he saw Kelso entering the cabin. He had the nerve to show up just because he felt left out and still didn't care what Jackie wanted. Kelso just won't quit.
"Now, we've got that settled out, can one of you guys put Fez's pants on?" Donna asked them. Fez's passed out body was close to hers, and his crotch area was at her face if she'd glance down.
"You do it, Michael!" Jackie ordered.
"Aw, dammit!" Kelso grumbled at the unpleasant task and had to dress Fez.
Author's Note: I know Jackie's behavior is a lot different here than in the original episode. That's because she already knew about the break up so she wasn't that upset about it or wanted to get back together with Kelso so quickly. Just thought I should clarify that. Hope you like this chapter and please leave a review! :)
