The Magic Hero's agency was placed in a small and rather unpromising street corner of Yokohama. It had been set up out of a small shop, was only a few stories high, and looked distinctly unpromising compared to the usual hero agency - the skyscrapers I was used to. The doors were decorated with magical symbols and a few false staffs to give the place some atmosphere. Tokage re-checked her map.

"Yeah. This is Majestic's Agency."

I stared up at the building, so unpromising and unspectacular.

"I'm sure he's a very worthy mentor. We just have to hold out hope."

"You're quite the optimist, Yaoyorozu."

"I believe in Miss Midnight's word."

We went in. A sidekick in a robe greeted us.

"We've been expecting you."

The Magic Hero wore a hat and cloak, blond locks, a scarf over his eyes. I could only see the outline of a mustache and nose between the scarf and the collar. He turned to face us, arms folded impressively.

"So, you're the two Pro-heroes Kayama told me about. Good to meet you."

He was unexpectedly rather upbeat.

"Sit down, have some tea. Tell me about yourselves."

Small rings of glowing energy levitated cups and a teapot to us. Among them were different flavors. My confidence soared.

"You have so many different kinds of tea!" I cried, looking at all the floating boxes. "By any chance do you have Gold Tips Imperial?"

"Alas, I cannot afford to keep that fine brew stocked. But you must be a girl of refined taste to know of such a brew!" He smiled at me. By my side I felt Tokage move uncomfortably. We poured our tea and sat down.

"Well, Miss Yaoyorozu and Miss Tokage. Tell me all about your goals. You first, Miss Tokage - I believe your hero name is Lizardy. Why do you wish to study under my agency?"

"Well, sir, Miss Midnight recommended you. See, my quirk is Lizard Tail Splitter. It allows me to break my body into parts and control them - and it's a similar move to your Magic." She nodded at the floating rings. "I want to learn how to better control my quirk. And as such, I think I fit in to the overall aesthetic quite well here too."

She seemed a little nervous, but had clearly done some research. Majestic nodded at her, then turned to me. "And you, Miss Yaoyorozu?"

"I want to learn how to become a hero who inspires hope. And to do so I need to learn what it's like to go into the real world and work - really work - with people, on saving others. I believe your agency, with it's track record of arrests, patrols and activity, is the finest opportunity for me to do so."

Majestic shrugged. "All right. You two have skimmed a little, seen my agency's statistics, I suppose. Now a harder question. Why exactly should I hire you?"

I took a breath in. Miss Midnight had warned me. "My hero name is Creati. My quirk allows me to make anything from the lipids in my body. I was admitted to UA on recommendations…"

"So was I," Tokage added.

"Yes. And I have excelled academically - I have the top grades in my class, and I have some experience fighting villains first-hand thanks to the USJ attack." I wasn't going to mention Kamino. "My practical experience is limited, but my training has been excellent."

"I haven't had much experience fighting villains," said Tokage. "But I've also done well in all practicals and theoretical. I was one of the top scoring students in the country."

I could tell from her face that she was panicking. I had outshone her quite easily - thanks in part to simply coming from Class 1-A.

"Anything else you'd like to add to that Resume, Miss Yaoyorozu?" said Majestic quietly, with a smile I couldn't quite place.

"Erm…" I tried to think of something else impressive I could add. What was he hinting?

"A practical experience a little more recent, perhaps? Let me tell you, then. When you classmate Katsuki Bakugou was captured in Kamino Ward, the Pro Hero rescue team was completely - according to all records - annihilated by All for One. All Might did not leave the scene with young Bakugou, and yet the young man was returned to safety. According to police records, he was returned by five of his classmates. At the scene of the crime were found the remains of a small iceberg - an unlikely occurrence in the middle of Kamino Ward, unless Shoto Todoroki and his ice-creating quirk happened to be there. And how exactly could Shoto Todoroki have known to be at the scene of the kidnapping before the news cameras arrived? Simple. The same way that the rescue team of pro heroes knew to be there - because one of Katsuki Bakugou's classmates had created a tracking device for them, planted one of All for One's Nomu, to help find the hostage. Which means that the only way Todoroki and the others could have been present at that scene was if another tracker was made. And only one person could have made that tracker. So it would seem, Creati, that you have a little more practical experience than you're willing to admit to."

I was stunned. I had never thought that someone might deduce what we had done to save Bakugou. Tokage was gaping at me. I was sweating buckets.

What do I do? Mr. Aizawa never said not to tell anyone, but it's not like we wanted anybody to find out - should I lie? Should I admit to it? Oh, man, oh man…

I took a deep breath to steady myself. Think it through, Momo. Why is Mr. Majestic asking you this?

"Sir, I can't really confirm or deny that statement, for my own reasons. If it were true - which I am not admitting - it would mean I had broken the law and interfered with a police investigation, which would not be proper protocal for a young hero. However, it would also mean that saving my classmate was more valuable to me than any other alternative course of action - that the life of an innocent was the objective, and that I voluntarily chose to save that life regardless of what it might cost me. As a pro hero, I believe that rescue must always come first. That is all I can say."

He surveyed me - it was impossible to tell what he was thinking through his costume. Then he said, "Well, I am intrigued. I must warn you, of course, that strict obedience to the law is required in my agency. But that determination could certainly be useful. You both are qualified. I'd like to see how you perform on a case. I will allow you a trial today - a puzzle to be solved. You're both rather clever, so I think you can pull it off. Ready?"
