Okay, so firstly, thank you all for the support on this fic. The number of reviews this gets is amazing and I'm so happy to hear all of your feedback.

But uh...I'm kinda surprised so many of you were...surprised, by the whole keyword thing.

I mean, in case you forgot, while Izuku was going through his metamorphosis, he was under the care of Dr. Garaki. The direct subordinate of All for One. So naturally, Dr. Garaki knew about this and told All for One.

And did you guys think that All for One wouldn't do some research into who Izuku Midoriya was, and find out that he was a massive fan of heroes and wanted to be one? Hence coming to the conclusion that he would likely use his newfound powers to become a hero?

And did you think All for One would just let him roam free without any conditions if that was the case? Of course not. Izuku's new quirk(s) are extremely powerful. He wouldn't let someone like him be a legitimate threat if he could help it. Of course, he implanted a keyword into him.

It was either he would implant a keyword, or he kidnapped him and held him in a lab, using him to do genetic experiments.

So yeah, that's why there is a codeword. Because it wouldn't make any sense if there wasn't.

You'll hear more about how it works later.

Anyway, let's get onto the story.

"Hey!"

"Ohhhhh." Izuku slowly regained consciousness.

His head felt like it got stomped by Rhino...and honestly so did the rest of his body. The moment Izuku started to wake up, he was assaulted by the worst pains he had ever felt in his life.

"Hey! Wake up!" Shouted a voice Izuku wasn't quite familiar with.

His mind was foggy, so he didn't really take in the urgency in the voice of whoever it was that was talking to him, but he tried to comply anyway.

Izuku forced his eyes open and was met with the terrified face of Mineta Minoru. They seemed to be outside the U.S.J. facility, not outside of the property, just the building itself.

"Wake up! Come on, you have to get out of here!" The small purple boy shouted as he looked around nervously.

It took Izuku a moment to recall what was even happening, and why he was here, but after a few moments, he remembered everything. "Nomu! Wha-what happened! Where is Nomu!"

"All Might came after you fainted! Everyone's ok, but you have to get out of here before the rest of the heroes come!" Mineta explained feverishly. "Now he's fighting that monster, thankfully everyone else is so distracted watching them fight, so I managed to get you out here."

"But, that thing...it was designed to kill All Might. I-I have to-agh!" Izuku tried to get up, but his bruised and broken bones made it so he could only get to his knees.

"Come on dude it's All Might! And Asui poisoned that thing so much I'm surprised it's still standing!" Mineta pointed out. "You need to-"

BAM!

WHOOSH!

Suddenly the roof of the U.S.J. broke open, and the Nomu flew out of the facility, flying through the crowds, far, far away.

"O-oh...wow." Izuku was taken aback by seeing the monster he struggled so hard against, being thrown through the air like a ragdoll, by sheer power only All Might could summon.

Mineta was also taken aback but quickly shook off his surprise, as he realized that they had just run out of time. "See! He beat him! Now go!"

That shook Izuku back to reality, as he too realized what he needed to do. "A-Alright."

Izuku took a deep breath and fought the pain as he pulled himself up, and stood on his broken and bruised legs.

Web slinging was a no-go. He couldn't afford to attract any attention, not when he couldn't really fight back, or move too quickly, and not to mention with how injured he was, he might end up doing more damage to his body.

So instead he would have to go on foot.

And so Izuku turned invisible and started hoofing it, ignoring the incredible pain coursing through his body.

It's been a long time since Nezu wanted to curse.

While this wasn't a complete and total nightmare, it was very, very close.

Firstly, there was in fact a villain attack, and he had been forced to push his students into it. And it wasn't just a small, insignificant one, a small army of villains had invaded and completely negated their security system, and came with a monster capable of fighting off Spider-Man and All Might.

What's worse, All Might had not been present for the majority of the attack. Meaning that if it wasn't for Spider-Man, a vigilante who also broke into the facility and who they had no control over, everyone there would have died.

Not to mention, the ring leaders had escaped during All Might's fight.

So far the only saving grace was that nobody died, and according to the reports the only person who had gotten injured to any significant capacity, was Spider-Man himself.

Nezu was currently speaking with the police about how many villains could still be hiding in the facility when Snipe came up behind him.

"Sir." Snipe said, getting his attention.

"Ah, Snipe, do you have any information about Spider-Man's location?" Nezu asked the sharpshooter.

"No sir, we can't find him anywhere in or around the facility." Snipe said. "Do you want us to search the surrounding alleyways?"

"No, we've already let enough villains getaway because we were chasing Spider-Man. Let's focus on arresting the remaining villains." Nezu instructed.

"Understood," Snipe said, before going off to inform the rest of the staff.

Well...at least I finally got some good news. Nezu thought, before getting his mind back on cleaning up this mess.

Inko sat nervously on the couch, just...waiting.

She knew that she couldn't stop Izuku from being Spider-Man, or from going to that U.S.J. ambush...but that didn't mean she couldn't worry!

Inko had already taken out all her medical tools and got them prepared in case she needed them.

"It's ok Inko. Izuku is strong." Inko told herself, as she tightly clenched her fist. "He'll come back. He'll win."

She had been telling herself that all day, but she couldn't get rid of that little niggle of doubt. Asking the question…

What if he didn't.

However, her heart leaped, and her head turned so fast it was a wonder she didn't hurt her neck as she heard the door open.

"Izuku!" Inko felt a ray of hope when she saw the door open.

Only to be confused when she saw nothing on the other side of it.

However her confusion was quickly cleared up when the door closed, and Izuku became visible again.

Inko had to put her hand over her mouth to prevent herself from screaming when she saw the injured and battered state her son was in.

"H-hey, mom," Izuku said in a horse and shaky voice. "H-Help."

And then Izuku immediately fell to the floor. Fading back into unconsciousness.

Meanwhile back in Mysterio's lair, Mysterio himself was sitting over a table, with some of his allies sitting around him.

There was of course the sharpshooting sniper, Lady Nagant.

Screwball was also present at the meeting.

Then there was a woman who was clearly half human half bee. With a stinger, wings, and antenna, while wearing clothes reminiscent of bees.

Next was a bald man, whose body was completely white, and featureless, except for the black spots all over him.

Lastly was an old man, with an owl beak, as well as owl wings on his back.

And pretty much everyone but Mysterio was looking at the man, with very upset expressions. Except for the spotted man, whose face was a spot.

"Well...it appears things have not gone to plan," Mysterio said.

"You think!" Nagant scowled at him. "That boy almost died! And putting aside the moral issue of getting a child killed! We still need him for our plans."

"While his death would likely serve us some benefit in the short term, in the long term having someone like him around would serve us far better." The owl man said.

"Yeah! Do you know how hard it'll be to find someone with his level of skill and power!" Screwball complained. "Do you know how embarrassing it would be for us to find a replacement, have me hype them up, only for them to get taken out like a chump! You know! Like most vigilantes! Vigilantes capable of taking a punch from All Might don't grow on trees you know!"

"Yes, I am aware!" Mysterio said. "What I was not aware of, was that this attack was the work of All for One."

"Are we certain this is All for One's doing?" The owl man asked.

"I saw it. That abomination had multiple quirks." The bee lady added. "Regeneration, super strength, speed, shock absorption. And who knows what else. Had that Asui girl not poisoned the thing, and had Midoriya not suddenly developed bioelectricity abilities, he would have been captured."

"Captured? Swarm, you said that thing was beating him to death!" Screwball reminded the bee woman.

"Yes, but notably, Shigaraki did not order it to kill Midoriya." Mysterio pointed out. "And that brings us to another important topic. During the battle, Shigaraki shouted out a code word, which instantly put Midoriya to sleep."

"Wait! Like some kind of hypnosis?" Screwball asked.

"Most likely some form of mental implant." The owl man speculated. "But how?"

"Well, I have a theory." Mysterio put his hand in the air, and a puff of green smoke appeared, and a paper appeared in Mysterio's hand. "If you recall, Izuku Midoriya obtained his abilities from a strange spider and was unconscious for a week. And as you all know, that makes no sense."

"It always seemed so implausible. Even now I have a hard time believing it." Owl said.

"We don't fully know if that is indeed what happened. I've only heard about it from Midoriya, and he even says that that's just his best guess, but given his medical records and what we know, it seems like the most plausible explanation." Swarm said.

"Well, interesting enough, apparently Midoriya was bitten by that spider at Jaku hospital, the same place where he was kept while in his week-long slumber," Mysterio explained. "And was given direct care by Dr. Garaki. And strangely enough, looking at all the medical files and X-rays, none of them show Midoriya's spider powers. Something the medical staff would have been sure to catch unless of course, they were hiding them...Perhaps, the good Dr. Garaki, is not as good as he seems?"

"You think he's working for All for One?" Nagant asked. "I'd make sense. That spider could have been one of his experiments."

"Yeah, a spider that can pass its abilities with its venom is pretty wack." Screwball added. "But it wouldn't explain all his non-spidery abilities. Unless of course All for One packed it with quirks."

"I can foresee that perhaps he intended to use this spider to create some sort of army, but it escaped, and ended up biting Midoriya, who then killed it." The owl man speculated.

"And since Midoriya was asleep for a week, they had plenty of time to install a code word in his brain or something...but...why go with a code word instead of...you know." Screwball held a finger gun to her head. "Blam!"

"I suspect he most likely didn't want to kill him, after the death of that spider. Perhaps some trace of that spider's DNA remains in Midoriya." Mysterio said. "But he likely implanted that keyword as a safety measure, to make sure he couldn't become too much of a threat."

"So that begs the question. Does this make Spider-Man a less viable option for our plans?" The owl man asked.

"I've seen his capabilities first hand. We're not likely to find another candidate of his caliber, in all of our lifetimes, let alone in Mysterio's lifetime." Swarm said.

"Yeah, there is no way we can just switch to another vigilante, if only because the old fishbowl head is running out of time." Screwball pointed out. "Can't we just tell him about the keyword somehow? Midoriya's smart, I'm sure he'll find a way around it."

"Yes, but making direct contact is risky. We win this battle by staying in the shadows and puppeteering from behind the scenes." Mysterio said.

"Says the guy that went after All Might by himself." Screwball pointed out.

"That was a necessary intervention. And I wasn't alone, Spot was with me." Mysterio pointed out. "Midoriya will figure this out on his own. And we'll keep watch to make sure he stays alive."

"With that out of the way, how are we going to take advantage of the attack?" Nagant asked. "U.A. will definitely hold a press conference, and they definitely won't mention that Spider-Man warned them of the attack beforehand."

"Speaking of which, doesn't this seem kind of out of character for Nezu?" Nagant asked. "From first-hand experience, Nezu would never do something as blatantly stupid as sending students into an ambush. This stinks of the H.P.S.C. 's intervention."

"Of that, I have no doubt," Mysterio said. "But we have little in the way of proving that, and Nezu won't be allowed to admit it. So we'll focus on just exposing that they knew of the attack beforehand."

"I can take care of that." Screwball said, getting some funny looks from her companions.

"Screwball, in case you don't remember, you're just an internet personality who takes a stance against the H.P.S.C. and corruption in-hero society. If you expose that you know more than someone of your position, should know then it will invite suspension." Mysterio said.

"I know, I know, which is why I won't do it directly." Screwball said. "Our good old friend Spider-Man might be more than happy to go up to the U.A. press conference, and demand answers if we convince him that All Might won't be there."

"And how will you convince him of that, without exposing your abundance of knowledge to him?" Mysterio asked.

"Simple, I won't." Screwball smirked leaning back in the chair and putting her feet up. "Midoriya's not one to look a gift horse in the mouth. He still hasn't tried to figure out where his quirk came from. If I show him an opportunity, he'll take it. He may ask a few questions, but he's not gonna force me to answer anything. He's wayyyyy too nice for that."

"...It's a slight risk, but the rewards are well worth it," Mysterio said. "Very well. Lastly, before we depart, Swarm, I would like you to search Jaku hospital. If our theory is correct, then there may be something hidden there. A secret lab perhaps."

"Ohhh. A secret hidden lab." Screwball snorted. "How cliche."

Meanwhile back at U.A. The staff was having a meeting of their own.

It was the next day, and naturally, the students would be having the day off, because not only did they need time to recover physically and mentally from the attack, U.A. needed time to figure out what the hell was going on.

"So, now that we're all here." Nezu turned to All Might. "Yagi, please explain yourself."

"R-Right." All Might said. "I was heading on my way to the school when I encountered a phantom villain attack."

"A phantom villain attack?" Aizawa glared at him. "How did that hold you up for so long? The most those typically stall heroes for is a few minutes."

"It's true. When it comes to phantom villain attacks, typically they only last up until you make contact with the fake villain, then they fade away." All Might admitted. "However, this one was...different. Very different."

"Please elaborate," Nezu told him.

"...Firstly, it was on a much bigger scale. I…saw an entire street, ruined and in flames. And Endeavor was dead. With a villain holding his decapitated head." All Might described. "I entered into a fight with the villain of course, but...they wouldn't go down. And they didn't fade away either. It felt like I was fighting a real villain. And then during the middle of the fight, everything went black for a moment, and then, he was gone. And so was the flaming street. I was in a forest far away from the city. After I realized what had happened I immediately headed towards the U.S.J."

"Hmmm. So rather than just an audio and visual illusion, this attack looked and felt so real that it was indistinguishable from a real villain attack." Nezu summarized. "It appears whoever is behind this must possess a powerful illusion quirk. However, I don't think they are working with this league of villains. Looking at the information we have available it just wouldn't make any sense. They came looking for All Might's schedule and brought a bioengineered monster made specifically to kill All Might, and an army of villains to handle everyone else. And they expressed clear confusion when All Might failed to show up."

"If that's the case, and the two parties aren't working together, then why would whoever is responsible for this act in the first place?" Thirteen said. "I doubt it's a coincidence. How could they have known about the attack, and what was their motive behind interfering?"

"Spider-Man," Aizawa answered. "The answer to both questions is Spider-Man."

Everyone looked at him, asking him non verbally to elaborate.

"Some of you may have heard the theory that the person behind the P.V.A. 's is attempting to make heroes look bad, and is using Spider-Man as an unwitting pawn to chip away people's faith in-hero society. If that attack with those six villains is any indicator, they know his identity, meaning they must also have eyes and ears on him. And since he also knew about the attack, they likely learned about it from him. As for the motive, it's as I said. To chip away faith in-hero society."

Nezu nodded. "An attack on the U.S.J. alone would be enough to shake people's faith. Even more so, if they knew we knowingly lead students into an ambush. However, by keeping All Might away from the facility, they made the situation all the more dire and forced the students and teachers to rely on Spider-Man to save everyone. I imagine they didn't know the extent of Nomu's power, which is why they had to release All Might from the illusion, before the attack was over, to prevent Spider-Man's death."

"So it was just one party taking advantage of the other to serve their agenda." All Might summarized. "Using the league, Spider-Man, and even us as pawns."

"And we would have had a chance to stop it, had Mineta Minoru not allowed him to escape." Aizawa scowled.

Words could not begin to describe how furious Aizawa was when he looked away from All Might at the end of his fight with Nomu, only to see Mineta sneaking back into the group, exhausted, and Spider-Man nowhere to be seen.

"Yes, it's indeed a shame. Even more, so that we can't do anything about it." Nezu made sure to emphasize that last part. "Given that we quite literally almost led them all to their deaths, I hope you understand that attempting to give out any punishments for events that took place during the attack, would be extremely distasteful, and I would have to put a stop to it."

Everyone was looking at Aizawa who just growled a bit, before sighing. "I am very well aware of that, and I had no intention of attempting anything like that. I understand his reasons, and I'm actually kind of impressed he managed to sneak off with him during the battle. Although I will be having a talk with him about not allowing gratitude to get in the way of his duties as a hero."

"Yeah, not sure we're in much of a position to lecture them on anything. It's gonna be a while before we earn back their trust as teachers." Present Mic said.

"Damn that H.P.S.C.!" Hound Dog growled.

"Those arrogant bastards are the ones behind this whole mess, and we can't even say anything about it." Midnight scowled.

"Yes...it is indeed unfortunate, but all we can do is tell the students what happened, and hope that none of them reveal how much knowledge we had about the attack," Nezu said.

Inko Midoriya was sitting in the living room watching the news, when suddenly.

Knock. Knock.

Oh? How could that be? Inko wondered as she went over to the door.

She opened it, and on the other side, was none other than principal Nezu himself.

"Hello, Mrs. Midoriya. I would like to have a word with your son."

Alright, let's address a few things.

Firstly, Mineta. I don't do bashing. Characters will try to be presented as close to the canon as possible. That includes characters that often get turned into flat, parodies of themselves that have all their worst traits enhanced, and given a few more bad traits, in other fics, like Mineta.

Mineta has been shown to have an admiration of Izuku that I doubt would change in this instance and is the second smartest person in the class, so it's not like this is something that wouldn't happen.

Secondly, yes I did change a lot of things about Swarm, but it's not like I could have just kept them similar to how they were in canon. If you don't know, in comics, Swarm is a Nazi made of bees...yeah.

Anyway, I'm sorry for how rough the U.S.J. arc might have been. Things will go a lot more...differently from here on.

Well that will be all for now, anyway, have a nice day, and please review.
