Greetings, faithful readers

Following the advice from one of y'all, I recently changed Ruby's cover story. In the future, I'll do my best to avoid making what I write seem like I'm copying from the show, but if it seems like I'm not owning up to that, please let me know and I'll do the the revisions as needed. I also wanted to thank the reviewers who pointed it out to me.

Also, someone recommended should've done prologue chapters first. Admittedly, I wanted to, but wasn't sure how many to write or how to write them out. But that being said, I will include parts of Ruby's past as flashbacks.

I'm still debating if Ruby should be able to telepathically communicate with the Grimm via a spell Salem used on the young girl. If you guys think I should, please let me know in a review.

For now, on with the story

Author's Note: Flashbacks will be in italics and some may contain blood and gore

Walking through the forest of Forever Fall, Salem heard the cry of a baby and walked to the source. She saw it was a newborn girl near a woman's body that was covered in blood.

"What do we have here?" She asked and carefully picked up the infant and calmed her down.

Once it was calm, she lifted the woman's head up to reveal it was...

"Summer Rose!" Salem hissed so as not to have the baby cry again and stepped back a bit.

She'd heard of this great swordswoman and the power behind her Silver Eyes. Her reputation as a warrior was almost as revered as the Grimm Reaper. Add to that the decedent was a graduate of Beacon Academy, one of Remnant's most prestigious schools for Huntsmen and Huntresses.

She looked at the now sleeping baby in her arms and then saw a ruby next to where the newborn was laying and used her magic to lift it into her hand.

"Ruby...you may be of great help to me once you come of age." She whispered as she took the baby back to her castle.

Ruby was currently being crushed in a tight hug by her biological sister, Yang Xiao Long. "I'm so happy to have you going to Beacon with me, Ruby!"

"Please stop, Yang." Ruby said. Having met her and their father the night before, Ruby was still adjusting to the tight hugs from her sister.

"Why? I'm so proud of you!" Yang said as she stepped back.

"It really was nothing." Ruby said.

"No, it wasn't nothing! It was incredible! Everyone's gonna think you're the bee's knees!"

"I don't want that! I just want to be a normal girl with NORMAL knees."

"Aren't you excited, Ruby?"

"Of course I am! But I got enrolled into Beacon at 15. I don't want people thinking I'm special or something."

Yang wrapped an arm around Ruby. "But you are, little sister."

"The robbery was led by Roman Torchwick, a nefarious criminal who continues to evade authorities. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the Vale Police Department. Lisa." A male news reporter said before the image of a woman with lavender hair was shown.

"Thank you, Cyril. In other news, a Faunus civil rights protest took a dark turn when members of the White Fang disrupted the ceremony. Once peaceful, this organization has now disrupted-" Lisa Lavender started until her report was cut off and several holograms of Goodwitch appeared.

"Hello and welcome to Beacon. My name is Glynda Goodwitch." She said, answering the question Yang was about to ask before she continued. "You are among a few who have the honor of attending this prestigious academy. Our world is experiencing an incredible peace and as the next generation of Huntsmen and Huntresses, it is your responsibility to uphold this task. You have shown the courage needed for this. Now we will provide the knowledge and training to protect the world."

When she finished, many students looked out the window. Ruby was hanging back a bit with a small smile while Yang was at the window.

"These idiots have no idea what we have in store for them." Ruby thought to herself then walked to Yang then both noticed a blonde boy trying to keep from puking.

"Guess not everyone likes the view." Yang said

"Well, the moment was nice while it lasted." Ruby said.

"Who do you think we'll meet?"

"Hopefully they're better than Vomit Boy. Yang, you have puke on your boots!"

Yang began repeating the word gross while Ruby got away from the former.

Arriving at Evernight Castle, Salem headed to the Great Hall, where Tyrian, Hazel, Watts, Steel, and Cinder were at.

"Your Grace, where did you find that baby?" Steel asked.

"In the forest of Forever Fall, by the body of Summer Rose." Salem replied.

The five were shocked.

"Summer Rose?!" Watts asked.

"She was as much a true Huntress as Qrow Branwen is a true Huntsman." Tyrian said.

"What do you intend to do with the child?" Cinder asked.

"I intend to raise her. I sense she will become a strong fighter. That will be beneficial for us. Each of your will be given tasks. Watts, your first one will be to have baby formula made for her. When she comes of the proper age, you are to educate her."

Watts nodded his head.

"Hazel, I would like for you to find the appropriate clothing for her as the years go by while Steel and Cinder get the appropriate toys for a child. When she is old enough to learn to fight, the three of you, along with Tyrian will train her. Hazel will handle her hand to hand combat while Tyrian, Steel, and Cinder handle her weapons training." Salem continued.

The four of them nodded.

"Now set to your current tasks, all of you."

With that, Watts left for his laboratory while Hazel, Steel, and Cinder left the land of darkness to set to their tasks.

Salem, however, sat down at the table.

"Will she become our princess, my Queen?" Tyrian asked.

"Yes, Tyrian. Ruby Rose will become the Princess of the Grimm." Salem replied while smiling at the sleeping baby.
