Hi Everyone! I wanted to post a bonus chapter outside of my usual posting over the weekend (or Mondays), I hope you enjoy this shorter bonus chapter and please don't be afraid to share the love. Thank you for continuing to read.

With the above said, I wanted to bring some clarity a part of the story. The trouble with the Sabine and Damon relationship has always been the fact that Sabine was literally Lily's best friend and knew Damon since he was a child. The fact that they began a relationship may appear inappropriate (and it would be that way if it were Bonnie and a best friend of Rudy's as well). Then on top of all of that, Sabine manipulated Damon so much that he almost died trying to save her. Any adult who watched a child grow up and then decides to enter a physical relationship with the child when they are older will get the side eye from some people and Sabine will. As for Bianca's comment, Bianca is Bianca and she often says things that may appear to be rude or insensitive, but that is a character trait and doesn't necessarily mean that she's ageist.

But with all of that said, I hope everyone continues to enjoy this story, especially this bonus chapter because there is definitely a surprise at the end and I wanted to share it early with everyone!

Disclaimer: I don't own any of the characters.

The next morning, Bonnie finished filling two cups of coffee and smiled down at Sandy who was happily eating her breakfast next to the small table and chair by the kitchen window. Damon was asleep when she slipped out of bed and she figured he would be that way for a moment after the previous night.

As she placed sugar in the cups, the doorbell rang. Bonnie looked down at her attire, Damon's dress shirt went to her knees, so she was presentable to at the very least answer the door. Sitting down the cups, she padded to the front door with Sandy following behind her. She stood on her tippy toes to look through the keyhole and her heart immediately crashed against her chest and then the anger took over as she flung the door open, "Can I help you?" she narrowed her eyes at the visitor standing on the steps.

Bonnie watched as the eyes, one of which was blackened, trailed along her body before he spoke, "Umm good morning…I wanted to know if I could talk to Damon," Tanner cleared his throat.

Bonnie leaned in the doorway blocking his view into the house, "Didn't you say all that you needed to say last night?"

"Bonnie, I want to apologize for what happened last night. I was so angry and…"

She held up her hand to stop him mid-sentence, "I don't care, you came into a private party and caused a scene…I don't need or want to listen to any of your apologies."

"Bonnie, I just…I really need to speak to Damon," he begged, "I promise that this will not be like last night."

Bonnie rolled her eyes and snorted.

"Bonnie, it's ok…I do need to talk to him," Damon replied tiredly from behind her wearing a pair of grey sweats and a white t-shirt.

Bonnie's eyes turned into slits before she turned away from the door and went up to Damon, "Don't let your coffee get too cold upstairs," she whispered before heading to the kitchen and grabbing the cups disappearing up the stairs with Sandy trailing behind her.

Damon looked at his childhood best friend standing by his front door looking completely uncomfortable, "I see why you like her," Tanner chuckled.

"I love her," Damon corrected him making Tanner's eyes broadened for a moment and then he nodded, "what do you want to talk about? I think you said everything that you wanted to say last night. I believe you were shouting something about killing me after sucker punching me, so what is there left to say?" he asked crossing his arms.

"Well if it makes you feel any better, I got my own sucker punch last night and I think it was a lot harder than yours by the way mine is turning out."

Damon examined the dark bruise surrounding Tanner's eye and grinned.

"Bonnie's sister has a hell of a right hook; she is very protective of her sister."

"She is," Damon nodded, "so like I said…what do you want to talk about?"

"Why Damon?" Tanner asked looking at him with bloodshot eyes, "why my mother?"

Damon looked up towards the ceiling rubbing his face and then turned his focus back on Tanner, "I don't know. I was in New York, and I was…I was a different person. You asked me to look out for her and I did that. Then she started asking me to be her escort to events and one night, things happened. She kissed me and I didn't stop it. I should have."

"Yes, you should have," Tanner stated.

Damon shrugged, "Be that as it may, I didn't. But your mother, Tanner…she became obsessed with us, with me. She would start showing up at Bliss out of the blue, she drove any woman away that I expressed interest in. I got into this cycle with her that if I just gave her what she wanted from me, she would calm down. It became a sick game and when I decided to stop playing, she threatened to kill herself."

Tanner swallowed hard, "Why didn't you tell me?"

"Did you see how you reacted last night?" Damon glared at his former best friend, "did you think I wanted to have that conversation with you? I never wanted to have this conversation!" Damon gestured between himself and Tanner, "you barely called to check up after you begged me to take care of your mother while you traveled for work. Then she told me she wanted to kill herself and I raced to her apartment to stop her, that's when I got hit by the SUV…she was lying. It was a way to get me back."

Tanner shook his head, "And that picture…"

Damon took a deep breath, "It was the last time you two came to Mystic Falls. She wanted to have dinner to close out the chapter between us and yes, I was idiot. I gave her that. I'm sorry for getting involved with your mother. I'm sorry for not telling you and I'm sorry that this is the end of our friendship."

Tanner looked at Damon mournfully, "I'm sorry too."

"Tanner," Damon said quietly, "I know that this is a shitty situation and I have to admit that if the situation was reversed, I would have murdered you…"

"You…maybe, Stefan…definitely," Tanner quipped.

Damon's face broke into a slight smirk, "Good point. But Tanner…I have to be honest with you, your mother needs help. The way she manipulated me. The way she came after any woman that showed me attention—she clung to me and I know the divorce was hard for her, but she made me believe she wanted to commit suicide. That's not normal. You saw me in the hospital Tanner, you saw what your mother's manipulations did. You know that she needs help."

Tanner said nothing for a few moments and then looked up at Damon, "I will take care of it," he replied.

"I'm not saying this just because of what happened to me, I know that Sabine is a good person and I do want her to get help," Damon moved closer to Tanner debating whether to touch his shoulder.

Tanner backed away from Damon and cleared his throat, "Well Damon, thank you for giving me this time…I will be going."

Damon nodded watching his former best friend turn around and walk out of his home…and more than likely his life.

Bonnie heard the front door close downstairs and looked down at Sandy, "I think they got through that without killing each other, what do you think Sandy?" she looked down at the beagle lying next to her on the bed.

Within seconds, Damon appeared in the doorway of the bedroom, "Well that happened," he breathed out entering the room as Sandy jumped down off the bed and trotted out undoubtedly to finish her breakfast now that she could do it in peace.

Bonnie scanned his face for new bruises, "I didn't hear any shouting and you don't have any fresh bruises, so can I assume that you two worked it out?"

Damon scoffed, "Worked it out? Yes, we know we will never be friends again. Hopefully, he convinces his mother to get some help," he climbed in bed beside Bonnie.

"I'm sorry that you lost your friendship because of this," Bonnie turned to face him giving him a sympathetic smile.

Damon shrugged, "I left New York a year and a half ago, me and Tanner haven't been close in some time. As soon as I got involved with his mother, I knew deep down that would be the end of our friendship."

"Such a crazy situation, she knew you since you were a child and still…what kind of woman does that?" Bonnie shook her head.

"Sabine Reynolds," Damon huffed, before turning to Bonnie, "you know, because I desperately need to change the subject," he grinned, "I expected one thing last night that didn't happen…"

"What?" Bonnie asked.

Damon moved closer to Bonnie, "When I gave you that necklace last night, I said that after the party…I only wanted you to wear it and nothing else," he smirked while his fingers reached for the soft skin above her breast casually drumming his fingertips on the exposed skin, "and that didn't happen."

Bonnie smiled looking into his eyes, "Oh really? I think we can rectify that pretty soon," she leaned over to the night table on her side of the bed retrieving the necklace from its box.

She turned to allow Damon to fasten it around her neck and then turned back to him with a smile.

"That takes care of one part, now let's get to the nothing else part," he whispered straddling her and slowly unbuttoning his shirt covering her body before lowering her down to the bed.

*****BONUS SCENE*****

The birds sang a song of the morning as the sun cast a yellow light into the rather large bedroom. The bodies in the bed lay tangled together as green eyes slowly opened to take in the surroundings. The grey walls in the bedroom were different than what she expected to wake up in and she sure as hell did not expect to wake up using a hard chest as a pillow.

The arm that had been wrapped around her body pulled her closer, "Give me another 10 minutes," the deep voice mumbled.

Her eyes widened as she quickly lifted the sheets and noticed that she was naked as the flashes of the previous night came roaring back. The shots of tequila, the retiring to the apartment for more shots and then a couple of puffs. Then there were kisses, sucking, biting, moaning…and thrusting.

"Oh my god…" she whispered with a surprised smile on her face while running her fingers through her curly tresses.

"So, you're not going to give me the extra 10 minutes of bliss?" he asked looking over at her with a leer on his face.

Leaning down bringing her face inches away from his, she purred, "I gave you way more than 10 minutes last night."

His hand softly caressed her thigh under the covers, "You sure did," he grinned.

She returned his grin and then she noticed the sheets shift next to him as a head of straight brown hair popped up and the brown eyes took in the two bodies next to her, "Tell me we didn't…" she gasped, looking under the covers, "oh my god…"

"Bonnie is going to kill all three of us," Bianca laughed covering her face as Stefan settled down into his pillow with wide smile on his face and Elena looked at the two people she shared a bed (and much, much more) with the previous night wearing a panicked expression.

Well…what to discuss first…

Tanner and Damon had closure, which they needed. Hopefully Tanner gets Sabine the help she desperately needs because the next object of her affection may just end up dead.

And now…Bianca, Stefan and Elena…well what happened there? I'm sure you can use your imagination. Will it come up again? Perhaps.

Thank you for your continued support and it's because of your support, I was motivated to continue this fic and see what it has led to…lol…
