Getting back into the swing of things now that it's quarantine time. Enjoy
"I may be a horrible person, but at least I am an honest one." CoLu (Dragonshost)
Lucy was shocked, flabbergasted at the paper in front of her. Her paper. Marked to the teeth in the brightest red imaginable.
When she'd signed up for the Beginner Writer's Course at her college as an easy filler class, she'd expected a breezy and fun creative writing course to ease the slog of her degree requirements. Now that it was time to hand back critique…
Her own partner she had been critical with but not overbearing. His writing style not her usual cup of tea but still interesting enough to give her points to talk about. His critique, however, was nothing short of an assassination of her work, the blood being the still wet tips on some of the ends of his notes.
And when she confronted him? Asked why he would think to go so intense in a course clearly meant for beginners? The tanned man only laughed, his one eye smirking as she fumed.
"You are clearly not a novice, and even if you were I still wouldn't have let up on you. That piece was littered with problems."
"There's critique and then there's just being mean!"
"Well, I may be a horrible person, but at least I am an honest one."
With one final smirk, he strutted away. Leaving Lucy with a righteous vengeance she wouldn't forget as long as she had him as a critique partner. As well as a hand still stained red from the pen he used.
