Chapter 5: 2015
General Jack O'Neill was sitting in the co-pilot seat of the prototype aircraft X-305, the fighter was designed to replace the F-302s in the Tau'Ri fleet. The fighter was a designed as a by joint project between SAAB and Tech Con from Hebridan.
He was just sitting in it to think over the changes in military equipment and doctrine was going to do
The fighter-craft was designed under JAS aka. PAR (Pursuit, Attack and Reconnaissance) principle used by other Swedish Air Force fighter-craft.
This principle was also extended to the rest of the fleet with the F-304 Daedalus being the sole exception, though the Flight II variant of it will be built under it.
The PAR principle of Tau'Ri fleet divide the a combat ships' capabilities into four traits, Assault (listed as Armed in Tau'Ri documents), Armoured (listed as Screened in Tau'Ri documents), Speed (listed as Fast) and Reconnaissance (listed as Recon in Tau'Ri documents).
Ships where then divided in three broad categories depending on the basic function Auxiliary, Battle and Cruiser and then in five ship sizes (Escort, Destroyer, Subcapital, Capital and Dreadnought) and then each ship size into five subclasses (Ultra Light, Light, Medium (aka. Main), Heavy and Ultra Heavy).
Ultra Lights was only to be used as trainers, while Light, Medium and Heavy had one to three traits (listed after the subclass in parenthesis), respectively, whose efficiency was increased by hundred percent (how O'Neill didn't know he should have asked carter but she was helping Cassie (his clone's wife and sole survivor of the planet Hanka) with moving to Valhalla with her family while his clone was on mission) while Ultra Heavy was just twice as efficient as an Ultra Light. Fighters, Bombers and Shuttles was just given two broad categories Tactical and Strategic. As such the X-305 he was sitting in was just designed as a Ultra Light Tactical Fighter in the Tau'Ri fleet inventory.
And the list went on how all ships listed as an Auxiliary was intended to be designed for specific roles, or how this similar principle was used in ground vehicles, or how the Tau'Ri command structure was designed. His head was spinning and was a bit hurt.
"Are you alright General?" asked Brigadier General John Sheppard sitting in the pilot seat,
"Yes, Sheppard. I'm quite fine." answered O'Neill. "Just mulling over the changes to my command."
"Ah, it will be fine."
"You are joking right? Lets see I will have seventeen field commands, One training, 6 interior commands using modified Russian doctrine, 9 perimeter commands using modified American doctrine and one High Value command that uses a modified Asgard doctrine. And then its our fourteen administrative commands, Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine, Special Service, Special Forces, Logistic, Support, Personnel, Engineers, Intelligence, Gendarmerie, Penal and Staff commands.
"Yikes."
"Yeah, now you know how much I appreciate you taking me with you to fly in this bird John."
"You are welcome General."
On Valhalla the moon and two inner moons were setting the outer was rising,
"So this is Celin." said Lt. General Samantha "Sam"Carter. "Thought it was more rugged."
"The city is almost complete and its built to be as similar to a 'modern' western city." answered Dr. Cassandra O'Neill².
She smiled at the older general who took her in after her adoptive mother had died off-world. Her mother was also the older general's secret lover for several years until her passing. The only thing that prevented them to be forcibly dismissed from service was Sam's father, their professionalism and the secrecy of the Stargate program. And two youngest children in the house was scurrying around Cassie's daughter Sam and General Carter's daughter Jade had been friends since they were born in the same hospital (Sam was just 2 days older), while Cassie's two oldest twins Janet and Daniel where fighting over who is getter which room and how much cooler theirs are over the other twin.
The house itself was built to look to be similar to an American house with the only differences was the electrical outlet was using an Euro-style plug and it also had two charge ports used by the wristcoms to power and carry data throughout the house and the electrical grid had an Ancient Broadcast Battery connected with solar panels on the roof and a geothermal energy collector was built in to supplement the incoming energy.
"Where is Jack?." asked Dr. O'Neill². "Wasn't he supposed to be here today?"
"He was held up with some paperwork." answered General Carter. "But he will 'Gate in a few hours."
"Okay. Kids want do you want on your pizzas?"
"Bacon and Eggs." said Jade.
"Cheese and Mayo." said the younger Sam.
"Falu and Red Danish sausages." said Janet
"Taco sauce and Pepperoni" said Daniel.
"Kids." muttered Cassie.
Few hours later and now was the middle moon and sun was rising over Celin, the innermost moon was already at its highpoint in the sky.
The dinner table at O'Neill²'s was full with five kids and five adults was sitting around it eating breakfast. Dr. Daniel Jackson, Teal'c and General Jack O'Neill alongside Jack's Edoran daughter Vila had joined them during the night.
For breakfast Cassie had baked the one food item from her home-world she still remembers, a flatbread named 'Kurm Na, alongside butter, cheese, cereals, milk and orange-juice.
"This bread is delicious Dr. O'Neill²." said Vila.
"Thank you Vila." said Cassie. "Its the one food item I remember of my home-world of Hanka."
Dr. Jackson and General O'Neill had come to watch the launching of eight L(S)BDD-306 Galahad destroyers (Listed as a Light (Screened) Battle Destroyer) and four H(SFR)ADN-307 Archimedes (Listed as Heavy (Screened, Fast, Recon) Auxiliary Dreadnought, specialised as a Science and Research Vessel shorted to SRV).
Though the craft launch was supplemented with the launch of 72 M(AR)TF-308 Warthog (Medium (Armed, Recon) Tactical Fighter) and 48 M(SF)TS-309 Owl (Medium (Screened, Fast) Tactical Shuttle). The Warthog intended mission profile was ground assault similar to its American namesake the A-10 Warthog, while the Owl was designed to replace the Puddle Jumpers used by Atlantis.
The ULTF-305 Swallow (Ultra Light Tactical Fighter) had its launch delayed by a month due to a supply chain mishap.
Two weeks earlier the H(ASF)TB-310 Condor (Heavy (Armed, Screened, Fast) Tactical Bomber) had been launched alongside the M(SR)TS-311 Hawk (Medium (Screened, Recon) Tactical Shuttle).
"So Teal'c, how is the family." asked Daniel.
"They are doing great." came Teal'c's answer. "Krista and Ishta are going to give birth about one month of each other. Erica, Michael and Kest are doing fine. Rya'c his family is doing well too. How about you, Dr. Daniel Jackson?"
"Well, Vala is doing well, the doctors think our first will be born in two months around the same tome as Krista and hers."
"Thats good news Dr. Jackson." said Cassie.
"Indeed Dr. Cassandra O'Neill²." said Teal'c.
"How is the construction of the Battleships and Dreadnoughts?" asked General Carter.
"We got four Heavy (Armed, Screened, Fast) Battleships being laid down in two months." said Jack. "And two Light (Recon) Dreadnoughts a week or two after that. What are you doing after the launch ceremony?"
"Me and Teal'c are going to visit the ruins." said Dr. Jackson. "The research teams have found an opera house or an some performance center of some kind and they need some help with the translation, you Jack?"
"I am going to review the ground vehicles we are introducing. The M(SF)T-401 Leopard (listed as a Medium (Screened, Fast) Tank), the H(ASR)T-402 Lion (Heavy, (Armed, Screened, Recon) Tank) , the L(F)IC-403 Cougar (Light (Fast) Infantry Carrier), L(R)IV-404 Puma (Light (Recon) Infantry Vehicle) and the M(AF)SpA-405 Tiger (Medium (Armed, Fast) Self-propelled Artillery), Carter?"
"I am going to visit the research centre with Cassie, we are going to see the epidemiological effects of the introduction of the Cancer and Aids cures, as well as the effects of the HIV vaccine."
"Good." said General O'Neill. "Vila can you look after the kids? Sorry for being presumptuous."
"Yes father." said Vila. "If its ok with you Dr. O'Neill²."
"Sure, and you are forgiven Jack." came the answer.
Three months after that, the shipyard had completed another six slips and on each slip the engineers laid down the construction of a UHADN-312 Hadrian (Ultra Heavy Auxiliary Dreadnought, specialised as a Deep Space Construction Vehicle, shorten to DSCV).
Meanwhile, as the six Hadrian ships where built, Dr. Daniel Jackson were escorted to the detention area on Khofru's flagship to meet a prisoner.
"Here he is, Dr Jackson." said the Tlak'kahn escort. "He said that he only wanted to speak to you."
"Thank you, trooper." said Dr. Daniel Jackson as he look through the bars and saw a familiar face.
"Long time since that Astral Diner Dr. Jackson." said Anubis through his host Khalek.
