-The next day; minutes after dawn-
The ashes of the campfire smoldered and crackled as the gang slept, except for one. Jason, finishing his last shift of the night, smirked as he shook his arms, loosing his nerves, taking a deep breath before imitating a crowing rooster, waking each person one by one, with a pitched, rolled bundle thrown towards Jason who shouted out in surprise from the impact to his face.
"Ha! Should have done it myself ages ago!", laughed Zuri. Logan smirked, "Tell you what, you get the next one, Zuri.". Zuri nodded in understanding as she and Logan traded smiles as Jason grumbled, "I should have seen that one coming.".
The others snickered, chuckled, or giggled before Emma stretched her body, "Come on, we better move.", picking her rifle up while shrugging her coat on,and then putting her second rifle on her back. Haku commented, "Yes, we must not waste another moment. I do not want to see missing crates this morning.".
Pippa grunted lightly as she subtly cracked her spine back into proper place, having laid on hard ground all night, "You said there's boots. Those flats wouldn't last another week in this forest...". Emma nodded, "Yes, along with ammo, assorted weapons, and backpacks as well. I suppose there's matches and such in those backpacks..".
Jason grinned, "Good! Last night, the fire took a while to light up, and I do not want to end up with numb hands from the effort every night!". Zuri rolled her eyes with a smug smile, "You sure it wasn't the chill of the air? For a Canadian boy, you sure hate the cold, and curse out loud when you get the shivers.".
Jason glared at her with a disgruntled expression, and the others snickered behind their hands, knowing Jason too well, before Logan chuckled, "She has a point, bro. Don't worry, winter's gonna be gone before you know it.".
Jason huffed with a roll of his eyes while Pippa spoke up, "Let's go then! Fire's out.". Emma nodded, "You will be happy, I assure you. After all, we need every advantage to see us through in this new place.", walking over to the borders of the meadow into the lined marked trail to the place of the crates, with her comrades following behind her, rifles in hand or on their backs.
As daylight is getting stronger, by about 20 minutes, they made it to the large shed, and sure enough, the remaining crates is still there, much to their relief. Medium-sized number 1 crate revealed two different rows of 6 knives which in order; Shadow Ops Tactical Knife, and kukari. Number 2 crate, in large size, revealed 2 different rows of 6 pistols which in order; M1911A1 Pistols, and Browning HI Power.
Number 3 crate, super large, contained one row of 6 shotguns; Winchester Model 1912 Trench Gun. Medium-sized number 4 crate contained ammo of their weapons, along with belt pouches. Large-sized number 5 contained 6 WW2 American backpacks, and 6 pairs of WW2 American boots. Large-sized number 6 contained a assorted storage of matches, small WW2 American Navy surgical kits, water bottles, spades, rolled blankets, and extra laces & socks.
Zuri whooped, "This is the motherlode! We're beyond alright, guys!". Murmurs of agreement sounded out, and Haku spoke, "We must take everything. Who knows what may be out there?".
Emma nodded, "Yes, very wise to say that, Haku. After we take all of everything, we must head to the stream that Logan and Pippa found, and follow it up north. Perhaps civilization would be close enough as we couldn't see anything around the shed last night.".
Pippa commented, "That may be the best idea so far. Of course, we have to be careful about water and food. Honestly, fish would be good for awhile, but you know I will be sick of having fish after some time, and I bet the others would be as well, right, guys?", sounds of 'yeah' came out, and Pippa continued on, "We may have to do hunting as well.".
Logan commented, "At least we would be comforted to know that water and food will be at our convenience, and come nighttime, shelter is only concerned then.". Nods of agreement sounded once again, and Emma nodded, "Alright, sounds like we have a plan. Let's start our day.".
-Many, many miles away-
Up high, in a beautiful and large castle, upon a hallway bridge, resting his arms on the railing is a young man of dark brown locks that sometimes appear black in certain angles of light, fair skin, and bright brown eyes.
He's dressed in a white tunic, red pants with a gold stripe down the sides, and black dress shoes. This is Prince Charles of Fantasia. Charles sighed heavily, shaking his head lightly, "I can't believe this...Cinderella's kidnapped...Father forbid me from going to find her...I am so sorry, my friends...".
Standing besides his elbow is two little, adorable, kind brown-furred mice with soft black eyes, and the skinny mouse squeaked, "Cinderelly brave! You save her, princey!". Charles blinked slowly, "I know Cinderella's brave, but could she afford to be when she's expecting, Jaq?".
Jaq fell silent, his tail drooping in surprise, and his best friend, Gus, who's the chubby mouse of the duo, whimpered, "I miss Cinderelly.". He and Jaq has been friends with Cinderella for a long time, and they love her dearly as she has been so kind towards them, helping out with food and shelter. For some reason, they have a shadowed birthmark upon their backs, resembling a familiar glass slipper, differing them from the other mice.
Charles heard his little friend, and closed his eyes, remembering his dear, wonderful wife as he saw her in his mind's eye; the pale fair skinned Cinderella, her light blue eyes sparkling in contrast against her silken strawberry-blonde hair, smiling happily and brightly, revealing her kind and witty personality.
Being married to Cinderella, he is able to slightly pick up on her beast-speaking gift which results in speaking with Jaq and Gus, and the bluebirds as well. He should have seen it coming as he heard rumors of Frollo and Scar's army spreading over Enchantia, and now, Scar's goons have taken his wife during a trip to the village in intentions to visit Anastasia.
He remembers Cinderella's nickname for him; Charming, and Charles often calls her Ella in bouts of affection. Charles sighed heavily as he opened his eyes, "They better not hurt her or the baby...Gods...She's six months along...".
Jaq piped up, "You think Cinderelly's in trouble?". Charles shook his head, "She's already in trouble, Jaq. It's her health that's troubling me...I do not want to imagine the worst...". Gus squeaked lightly, "You call help, princey.".
Charles bowed his head, "Perhaps, but how could I do that when I do not know where she is? And besides, Father said that King Mickey over in Narnia is having trouble...Something about Pride Valley being taken a month ago or so.". Jaq and Gus looked at each other before Jaq spoke, "What about Fairy Godmother?".
Charles exhaled, "Ah, turns out that the place Cinderella's at, its aura is too strong for her, defying her magic. She's very upset, through Anastasia is worse...She feels guilty about the whole thing...". Gus blinked, "Cinderelly said that faith is believing.".
Charles smiled softly, "She often said that...", giving out a chuckle, "Yes, you're right. I must have faith that things will work out. I will find her, save her, bring her home.". Two cheers sounded out as the mice hopped on their feet, agreeing to Charles's proclamation.
Charles felt his heart grow warmer, a familiar feeling coming back once again, and he looked out to the lands beyond the castle. "I believe in you, Cinderella. I believe we will be reunited soon enough, my love.", Charles whispered, unknowing that help shall come in a group of unique people.
