(Pippa's P.O.V.) -Close to midnight-
I found myself back in a combat zone in a village, recognizing it all too well, and I see many dead civilians, people I and my unit was supposed to protect, but many died. I never forgot how I had hesitated to save a small child when my ex-leader ordered me to keep fighting, ordering me to listen to him, forcing me to leave the little girl in that corner of a destroyed playground, and I never forgot how she looked when I turned around to run to the playground after the battle was done...
Half her body...hanging by a thread and bleeding after the remains of a wayward grenade...Her whimpering voice raw and sore...staring at me with dimming amber brown eyes, her filthy black hair crusting up of blood and dirt, her caramel skin getting paler and paler...How she tried to speak, but only able to mouth visibly for her parents, 'Ma' and 'Papa'...Dying in my arms...My heart breaking and bleeding...
Taking a moment back to reality, I saw that the sky is just white, and I blinked as I remember that the day's sky looked more like a murky blue after some rain has passed a few hours before I and my united arrived. I saw that I was in military gear, and I startled briefly as I heard my ex-leader's commands.
Instinctively, I went into soldier mode, and followed my former unit, killing off enemy soldiers, dodging gunfire while taking cover behind half-destroyed pillars or walls, and soon, there was a break momentarily, recognizing that this happened a few minutes before I saw her back in my real memory.
Then I heard that familiar scream, and I looked over, saw the very same child screaming and crying for her family. Determined not to fail a second time, I ran, ignoring the yelled orders from him, grabbing the said child, running to find safety like a truck or helicopter that will get her out.
I kept ahold of her while whispering to her, "I got you. You're okay. You're going to be okay, I promise you. You're safe with me.". She only huddled into me tighter as I ran faster, avoiding the fresh gunfire while ducking to take cover here and there, my hands covering her ears as she doesn't deserve to hear such chaos.
Finally, seeing a helicopter, I yelled for one of the soldiers' attention, "Hey, I got a innocent here! She's a child! Take her to safety, to the base!", giving the child to a fellow soldier. He looked at me, "What about you?".
I shook my head, "Still in the game, soldier. Take her! Reunite her with her parents if you can! Just get out of here before it all comes to hell! You hear me?". The soldier nodded, and turned, climbed into the helicopter with the little girl looking over his shoulder, staring at me with awe and confusion. I offered her a small smile, winking softly, "You're gonna be fine, sweetheart. I'll be okay.".
She only blinked at me before she became hidden from sight, thanks to the helicopter door sliding close, and I turned around, exhaling lightly, feeling stronger and more free than I had ever remembered, pulling out my pistols as I stared at the enemy soldiers, "Come on! Come get me, you monsters!".
I fire back at the enemies, smirking at their enraged/infuriated body language as they couldn't hit me as I dodged and ducked appropriately, and I ran on, jumping and racing across debris, and seeing a slight hill incline, I jumped, and then nothing.
I landed upon a bed of soft blossom flowers, looking around to see that the village, the dead bodies, the enemies, my fellow soldiers, it's all gone. No gunfire sounds, no helicopter winds, no screaming, no grenade explosions, nothing.
I only saw the familiar rock walls, the platform, and right ahead is a carved statue of a dragon, strangely reminding me of Mushu's incense burner position. I walked forward, and I smiled softly, "Bigger than a horse, eh? You would love that, Mushu.", laying a hand upon the nose when the statue glowed blue, and suddenly, just above the bend of the tail, on the wall, blue glowing writing appeared.
I grinned lightly as it's plainly English. I read it out loud, "As the second test has been passed successfully, it's now time to find a new perspective. Follow the stars, keep trusting in yourself, and remember who you are.".
The wall then opened up, revealing a sole podium in the middle of the room, holding a floating red gemstone, and I blinked softly, "Well, at least Abu ain't here to see this...He would steal it in a second.", snickering to myself as I walked forward past Mushu's statue, stepping into the cave, and then I felt a sort of relieving, intriguing aura almost immediately as I get closer.
I reached out my right hand, feeling no anger, no pain, nothing as it gets closer to the gemstone, and as when I grasped it within the first touch, I felt the relieving, intriguing aura get like 100 times stronger, overwhelming me, and I seemed to black out for a moment before I came to.
I felt strange and sort of floaty, like how I used to be on pain meds in the hospital, and I looked around, bewildered and shocked all at once when I saw versions of me, but in different colors of skin, clothes, and even eyes, strangely reminding me of a theory I once read about emotions being different colors...
There were also their transportation choices like a spaceship, a open book, or a gigantic seahorse that's somehow breathing without need of water. The buildings are kind of wavy, shaping like how the ocean moves against the rocks, beaches, people. I then heard a different toned voice apart from my version selves' voices, "Boy, you sure like to be loud in ways. I like that, sister!".
I looked over and down, and to my shock, standing before me is the small, real, cartoony Mushu, and I breathed softly, "Mushu?". Mushu grinned, "That's right, baby! Don't wear my name out!", winking and gesturing with his claws. Yep, it's Mushu.
"How are you here?", I asked in confusion. Mushu smiled wryly, "Oh, that. I am the dragon of the Red Infinity Stone of Reality. Apparently, Reality likes you, and I don't blame her! You did really good in those tests! I was impressed when you did the physical one. Snakes can be smug, trust me.".
I blinked in surprise, "Wait, you made those tests? But why me?". Mushu shrugged lightly with a chuckle, "We had been waiting for the perfect protector of Reality, so we made those tests to test out your physical skills, your mentality, and eventually, your spiritually self. And you are not just Pippa, but you are more than that. Look, Reality sent me to your mind here, and we are having a time crunch, alright?".
I looked up in shock, looked around before staring at Mushu in bewilderment, "We're in my mind? That can't be possible!". Mushu glanced at me with a half-relaxed look, "Oh, it is. Reality is stronger than you think, through a Infinity Stone is pretty awesome to live in.".
I looked at him in confusion, "Infinity Stone?". Mushu smiled widely, "Let's start with something simple, alright? You came from your Earth world, yes?". I nodded, "Yeah. I and my friends are from there, and I could never forget the date. November, 12th the Friday, 2010.".
Mushu nodded slightly, "Yep. And now, the Infinity Stone of Reality is far more powerful than say, a arc reactor which I am sure you saw in the two movies of Iron Man.". I blinked in confusion, "Wait, did he lie that the arc reactor isn't that powerful? I mean, I very much remember that a arc reactor can last like 50 lifetimes.".
Mushu nodded, "Or something really big for 15 minutes. No, he didn't lie about that. Anyhow, the Infinity Stone has powers you can't imagine yet concept with. It's able to allow wishes to come true, even if it goes against scientific laws, like the simplest things to the largest things, like creating a, say, a new reproductive system for yourself, to a huge planet or moon.
It's...like Transfiguration on a world-scale. Of course, when the Infinity Stone is with her other comrades of the other Stones, the powers goes far greater to a universe-scale, creating alternate realities aka alternate universes if you will, and changing reality immensely.".
I exhaled sharply, "You mean, I can really have kids?". Mushu chuckled softly, "If you will it, it will be real. After all, Pippa, you are a literal book of facts and knowledge, but you also have a huge range of imagination. That's why Reality chose you, because you know the fine line between reality and imagination.".
I smiled slowly before frowning slightly, "I had to do that because of events that happened in my life. Facing fears, growing up happily, finding out horrible things, seeing traumatic events, working together with five different personalities of my friends, coming here and discovering incredible things I've imagined of seeing before now, feeling like I need to be there for Adam like how he is there for me since...Wait a second...".
Mushu blinked softly and spoke before I was to ask him, "That's the thing. The Enchantress' curse has to follow its rules, it cannot be altered. So, he's stuck as Beast in the next 6 years unless he finds someone he would care and love for, and vice versa for the person as well.", shrugging with his claws helplessly with a sheepish look.
I nodded in understanding, and I pursued my lips, "So, there are other Stones?". Mushu grinned wryly, "Five others, yeah. Equally powerful when they're alone, and immensely powerful when they're together. Your friends are destined for them just like you are. Uniquely different tests for them all.".
I blinked in amazement, "Whoa...So, they don't really know this like I did before now?". Mushu nodded, "Yeah, and you are not to tell them anything of extreme importance as Reality doesn't want to...what's the words she said...Oh, yeah, spill everything in retrospect as it's important for them to not know their destinies until they meet their dragons.".
I gaped in bewilderment, "Wait, you're my dragon? But you're meant to be Mulan's dragon!". Mushu waved a paw, "Oh, that's in a alternate reality aka movie with its own Mushu. I am just a slightly different Mushu, that's all.".
I blinked softly before nodding slightly as I understood him, knowing that I met various humanoid selves of animated characters I and the others technically knew about yet changed around in ways. I then asked softly as I looked around before looking down at Mushu, "What happens now?".
Mushu smiled softly, "The spiritual plane. There's someone who is waiting to see you, all that jazz.". I widened my eyes, "A spirit? How do we get there? We're in my mind...". Mushu chuckled softly, "Grab ahold, Pippa.", giving out a claw, and I blinked softly before I reached out a hand, my two primary fingers somehow fitting within Mushu's claw.
"Just to warn you, this will be a bit ditzy as it's your first time. Ready?", asked Mushu with a wry, slightly reassuring smile. I took a deep breath before exhaling, "Yeah.". Mushu grinned warmly, and flickered his tail before something happened, almost like a drumming rush of exhilaration and a flash of light, and then I knew nothing.
