Chapter 10
The curses sailed towards Jason, who Harry could see didn't have the strength to defend himself and Alicia, but before Harry could even think about desperately trying a spell to save his friends, a flash of fire burst onto the battlefield in between Jason and the Lestranges, a phoenix taking a killing curse with a trill, while the other curse was intercepted by a strong shield.
Two figures wearing Shadow Robes now stood in front of Jason, their wands already slashing, releasing spells, forcing the two Lestranges on the defensive. All around the field, others were appearing, reinforcing the retreating Order members, and dropping Death Eaters who hadn't expected any type of counterattack.
Another phoenix flashed onto the field before it grabbed onto Alicia and let Jason weakly grab its tail feathers before it flashed away again, and Harry couldn't keep the smile off his face, recognizing Apollo and Artemis anywhere.
The Death Eaters still had the numbers, but the unexpected and skilled reinforcements broke the Death Eater's attack and scattered them long enough for the rest of the Order to disapparate. He took the signal from one of the cloaked figures that had saved Jason and Alicia and disapparated away, appearing back at the Potter College, James, Lily, and Ginny appearing not long after him.
"They made it!" Ginny yelled triumphantly, unrestrained joy on her face.
"Friends of yours?" Lily asked, looking astounded by what they'd just seen.
"Yes, those phoenixes were Jason's and his sister's," Harry answered excitedly. "I definitely Sensed Isabelle out there, among others. They obviously brought a fairly decent sized strike force to come find us."
"That's great," James said, though Harry noticed while he did seem sincere, there was a small bit of hollowness to his words in his eyes.
Apollo flashed into the yard, trilling happily to see them. He landed on Ginny's shoulder, and rubbed her cheek affectionately, as Ginny giggled.
"It's great to see you too," she said softly, beaming at the phoenix. "Are you here to take us to Isabelle?"
Apollo trilled and then took to the sky easily, shaking his tailfeathers at them. James and Lily looked hesitant to grab on, but Harry and Ginny waved them over and the four of them grabbed on before the familiar warmth surrounded them and they flame traveled away, appearing in an open field with a couple tents set up, and Harry could Sense the protections that had been placed around the area. Apollo took flight and went off probably to return to Isabelle or to wherever Artemis was.
"Harry! Ginny!" a voice called, and Harry turned to see his godfather running full steam, he got up to Harry and pulled him into a bone breaking hug, before he set a bemused Harry down and swept Ginny up into just a tight a hug, lifting her smaller frame off the ground.
"Sirius!" Ginny laughed, "Put me down!"
"Alright," Sirius's voice said gruffly. "I just worried I wouldn't see you two again, especially when we get to this damned world, set up a base camp, and then have Apollo and Artemis basically squawking at us because they could tell you needed help."
"Well, you made it here now," Harry said happily, before looking over to see Jason and Alicia being pulled into rough hugs by both their respective sisters before they traded people. "How did you get here?"
"Hermione and Isabelle," Sirius answered. "I'm not going to even pretend to understand what they did, but somehow they managed to basically lock onto Jace's magical signature using his bond to Artemis, and from there they were able to create a ritual to get us to this world. What's going on here? Those were definitely Death Eaters, and . . . " Sirius's voice faded away, and Harry saw him staring at James and Lily whom he just noticed.
"Hello," James said unsurely. "You must be the Sirius from Harry's world."
"Hermione warned us that we might see familiar faces, but I never really thought I'd run into you two," Sirius said quietly. "Are you two the reason Harry was drawn here?"
"We were part of the problem, but if you're asking if we specifically summoned Harry, then no, but he's incredible and we couldn't be prouder," Lily said quietly. "I will also say, I'm so glad that our counterparts named you godfather in your world too because it's obvious we couldn't have made a better choice."
Sirius smiled, looking a little choked up. He reigned it in. "What's the situation?" he asked looking back at Harry and Ginny.
"It'll probably be better just to brief the whole group," Ginny said with a sigh. "Seems you brought quite a big group."
"Well, when four of the most powerful witches and wizards in Britain, who also happen to be heroes in our world are just up and grabbed in the middle of a party full of war heroes, Order Members, Aurors, and their families, it raises quite a few concerns. This group is much smaller than what wanted to come for you four," Sirius said firmly.
"I guess I see your point," Ginny said, nodding. "Who'd you all bring?"
"Ginny!" Isabelle's voice interrupted, and Ginny was once again the subject of a bone breaking hug from her best friend.
Ginny laughed, squeezing Izzy just as tight. "Merlin it's great to see you Iz."
"Looks like you needed our help," Isabelle said, getting serious. "If we'd shown up a minute later, I'd be carrying my brother and sister home in a box."
"Yeah, they really weren't ready for that fight, but we had to try and help the Order members escape," Ginny said solemnly.
Izzy turned and pulled Harry into a hug, and he felt some tension drain, hugging his friend.
Before they could keep talking Ron and Hermione had run over to them, crashing into them in their efforts to hug them.
"Alright, get off me," Ginny said laughing, pulling herself out of Ron's grip, as Harry pried Hermione off of him.
"We saw Jason and Alicia looking near death and almost feared the worst!" Hermione said, looking scared. "I worried we might have to fight Death Eaters, but there were so many!"
"Who the hell summoned you four to this world?" Isabelle asked seriously. "Did Volde-"
"Stop!" Ginny said, reaching her hand out to cover Isabelle's mouth, cutting her off. "The name's tabooed here."
Isabelle nodded seriously. "Did Tom summon you?"
"No," Ginny said, still a bit bitter at the Order. "The Order summoned Harry."
"WHAT!" Sirius exclaimed, looking livid.
Ron and Hermione just stared in surprise.
James and Lily winced, knowing that even if people would understand why they'd done it, very few to none of them would think all that well of the Order's methods.
"I get why they did it," Harry said with a sigh. "We'll explain the situation to you, and you'll understand, but I wasn't happy about it either, and now I'm stuck here, though I guess Gin, Alicia, and Jace could probably get back to our world with you guys."
"What do you mean you're stuck here?" Sirius asked in a dangerous voice, and Isabelle's eyes narrowed dangerously. Hermione just looked resigned, while Ron seemed to have the same mindset as Sirius.
"The method they used to summon me simply requested a warrior capable of killing Tom," Harry said wearily. "It grabbed me, but the spell binds me to this world until my task has been completed. Until Tom's dead, I cannot return to our world."
"So, they just stole someone and literally enslaved you to fight their war?" Sirius asked calmly, his face set in fury despite the calm tone.
"Yes," Lily said quietly, answering the question for the dimension travelers.
"How could you?" Sirius snapped at Lily and James, both of whom flinched at the tone.
"I didn't like the plan," Lily admitted quietly, "but this world has been under You-Know-Who's control since only a couple years after my son's death, when he was just a toddler. Our world is dying, and this was our only chance to try and save it."
Sirius's anger slightly faded at the mention of this world's Harry dying, but it didn't completely fade. "Maybe this world should have died then. If you couldn't defeat him yourselves, then maybe you weren't meant to do so," he said sternly.
James and Lily winced, but both nodded slowly in agreement.
Harry glanced around to see that Sirius's group was gathering around them, and he smiled to see all the familiar faces now that they'd removed their hoods. Jason and Alicia were being supported by Jamie, and their parents. He could see Artemis on Jason's shoulder, the Phoenix fledgling seeming happy to be back with her partner.
"We should call an Order meeting at the field hospital," Harry said, looking at Lily and James. "We'll explain what's going on, and that's where all the injured will have gone, so it's the best place to call the meeting."
Lily and James nodded, and both broke off to start sending Patroni off to various Order members to call the meeting.
"Why do we need to call a meeting with this world's Order?" Fred asked. "We've got you all. We should just head back to our world, now that we have a method of doing so."
"I can't leave," Harry answered with a sigh. "The way I was summoned binds me to this world until my task has been fulfilled, which is killing Tom Riddle." People gasped or made sounds of outrage. "There's a taboo so don't say his name, by the way. Jace, Alicia, and Ginny are perfectly fine to go back, as are all of you obviously, but I must stay."
"We're not going anywhere," Alicia said, from the crowd. "Jace and I are here as long as you are."
"I'm obviously not going anywhere without you," Ginny said fiercely.
"Well, there you have it," Harry said, feeling warmth rise up in him, knowing he couldn't convince them otherwise. "I'm thankful you all came, and we'll desperately want to learn how to travel back to our world, but we're staying until this is over, so you might as well head back and at least let Kingsley know what's going on."
"I'm not going anywhere if you're not," Sirius said, his face set in a scowl. "You're trapped here, then I'm staying."
Around the group, others called up saying the same thing, and despite his desire to send them all home to where it was safe, Harry felt gratitude wash over him.
"Well, then, I guess we definitely need to have an Order meeting," Jason said, and Harry could tell that Jason felt relief at seeing so many of their friends and family, and knowing they were going to help them. "This will help expedite our plans."
Harry looked around, seeing Ron and Hermione, John and Sarah Spinnet, Fred and Jamie Weasley, George and Angelina Weasley, Katie Bell, Isla and Alex Witcher, Sirius, Isabelle, and Daphne Greengrass. Welcome faces indeed.
"So, just to try and quickly bring you all up to speed somewhat," Harry said, looking at the new arrivals. "In this world, their version of Harry never became the Boy-Who-Lived. Riddle succeeded in killing my counterpart, and then they killed the Longbottom's, so both possible children of prophecy were gone, and Riddle and his Death Eaters took over the Ministry." Harry could see people start thinking of just how bad this world might have become with Voldemort having taken control sixteen years earlier than he did in their world. "Over the years, they've basically conquered a large chunk of the known world with pockets of resistance all over. Riddle released the details of the prophecy, and basically had most of the kids born my birth year murdered, thus cementing to many people the belief that he's invincible."
Harry watched people's eyes widen in shock, while others looked sick or sad to hear about the mass murder of children.
"Kingsley and Dumbledore have both killed him in this world, but because of his horcruxes he's always come back which further cemented people's belief in his invincibility. Since we've been here, we've started a campaign against his forces, and we've destroyed three horcruxes."
"Are they all the same locations?" Fred asked curiously, at the same time that George asked,
"Are they all the same items?"
Harry smiled at the pair, still sometimes surprised that they weren't completely in sync all the time anymore since they'd both married, but they still were always almost in sync in some way. "So far, they have been all the same items and locations, though we haven't confirmed Nagini, nor can we confirm that the cup is in Gringotts, and the Snape of this world hasn't laid eyes on the Diadem in the Room of Requirement yet."
"So, you've destroyed the diary, the locket, and the ring," Isabelle summed up, looking thoughtful before she turned to Alicia and Jason quickly. "That's why you guys looked so exhausted! You cleansed a horcrux and then still went into battle."
"Yes," Jason admitted. "We got to test Hermione's horcrux shield before we cleansed the locket. It took more out of us then we thought it would, and we just hadn't recovered between that and cleansing the ring the night before."
"So, the shield worked?" Hermione asked excitedly, unable to control herself, and most of the group chuckled at the very Hermione-ish behavior.
"Yes, it worked really well," Jason said, "but combined with the cleansing ritual, it took Alicia and I down to pretty much magical exhaustion. I think very few witches and wizards would be able to do both spells at the same time."
Hermione frowned thoughtfully, her mind already working towards a way to possibly change that.
"If the Death Eaters control most of the world, Riddle must have a very big army at his command," Katie said, frowning thoughtfully. "What's the disposition in country?"
Katie was one of the best in the MLEP (Magical Law Enforcement Patrol), having been a hitwitch for a few years after the war before transferring to the MLEP. She was one of the best interrogators in the DMLE. Her kind and cheery disposition generally put victims or witnesses at ease and convinced them to open up more often, but she also could be downright scary and was ruthless in tearing down suspects stories. She was jokingly referred to as the Extractor by coworkers, but there was a truth to the name, and when they referred to her as such in front of a suspect, the suspects always seemed to be even more intimidated.
"He has nearly nine hundred Death Eaters or so left in country from what we've whittled down, but he's got another thousand that will be arriving at anytime between now and another week and a half or so." Harry briefed. "He's also got roughly 1100 dementors remaining in country though he's trying to bring back five thousand to replace what we've destroyed. He's also ordered fifty vampires, thirty giants, and one thousand trolls to replace or augment what we've destroyed."
"Damn, Reaper," Katie said shooting a grin at Harry. "You really know how to piss that man off."
Most of their group laughed while Harry rolled his eyes. It had been his callsign that Proudfoot and Savage had jokingly given him during his first real mission as an auror, since he'd survived the killing curse, survived Voldemort more times than anyone, and had killed Voldemort, whom many had considered as close to the devil as you could get on Earth. The name had stuck, and the younger DMLE members who didn't know him often whispered it in awe when passing him in the hallways, while his closest friends just used it to rile him up, since he didn't care for the name.
"Alright, so let's meet up with the Order and then we can introduce you all to our current strategy for the war. Pack up your stuff and get ready to move," Harry said, and people heard the note of dismissal and started moving off to follow his orders.
"Sarah!" Harry called, and Alicia's mother stopped moving away and made her way over to him.
"Just thought I'd give you a heads up," Harry told her. "We're heading to a field hospital we've set up, and it's currently full of people that we rescued from Death Eater brothels and injured Order members. They only have Poppy, Andromeda, and a woman called Dorcas Meadows to treat people."
"How many patients?" Sarah asked.
"We rescued one hundred and thirteen peopled from the brothels, and I'm not completely sure how many injured Order members are there, but it could be as high as twenty."
"So, a ton of patients without nearly the number of people needed to treat them," Sarah said with a sigh. "I'll be prepared to start helping out when we get there, and John can fill me in later."
Harry nodded at her, giving her a warm smile, before she walked off to help clear the area. Harry walked over to where Isabelle and Daphne had taken over helping Jason and Alicia while the rest of their family went off to help pack up tents, clear away the protections, and hide any trace of their presence. Harry smiled to see
"Hey Daph, I'm a bit surprised to see you here," Harry said, smiling at her.
"Well, you know I love having Witchers and Potters owing me favors," Daphne replied with a grin. "Besides, now I can go around claiming I saved the great Jason Witcher's life! That's a brag worth keeping."
Jason rolled his eyes while Alicia giggled.
"Glad I could be of service," Jason said dryly. "I'm sure Izzy didn't have to ask very hard though. She probably just batted her grey eyes at you, and you were all in."
Isabelle laughed while Daphne just smirked.
"Well, she does a lot more than bat her eyes at me, but yes, I'll admit she didn't have to try too hard to convince me to come on an adventure," Daphne said, with a flirtatious wink at Isabelle that got a smile and blush from her.
"How the hell they're not engaged yet, I'll never know," Ginny whispered to Harry and he chuckled, nodding at her.
Daphne and Isabelle had been on again and off again for a couple years now, ever since they'd connected after the war. They'd had a summer fling before Isabelle had gone back to Hogwarts, and Daphne had continued on to post Hogwarts life. They reconnected again after Isabelle's graduation and had a fairly steady relationship until Izzy went off to Greece as a curse breaker for Gringotts. Daphne's family had been going through some hard times at the time, so she had been unwilling to leave England. Their relationship became long distance, with pockets when they'd seemingly break up, but they always came back together not long after, neither really wanting to do long distance, but seeming unable to really break it off between them. Isabelle had dated a couple different guys and girls, but none of them ever seemed to excite or challenge Izzy like Daphne Greengrass did, nor make her as happy.
Harry almost felt bad for anyone who might seriously date Izzy in the future if she and Daphne didn't stay together, as unlikely as that was. Alex and Isla basically treated Daphne and even her sister, Astoria, like members of their family and even invited them around even if Izzy wasn't in town. Considering that Daphne and Astoria weren't all that close to their own parents and absolutely loved the Witchers, it basically meant Daphne was permanently in Isabelle's life whether they broke up or not.
"How bad has it been here?" Daphne asked, the humor fading from her face.
"It's not good," Jason said with a sigh. "Like we said, Riddle and his Death Eaters have control over most of the world, and with how long they've been in control, a vast majority of the population either supports or works for him both directly and indirectly. While this world seems to only have minor differences in the past the death of Harry in this world created ripples that drastically changed this world from ours. People who fought with us in our world are proudly or at least willingly serving the Death Eaters in this world."
"That doesn't even factor in that the whole of the Ministry basically works for Riddle, and a large portion of this country will sell us out to gain favor with the Death Eaters," Alicia added grimly, and Isabelle and Daphne's faces grew grimmer.
"Any real big names from our side that work for Tom in this world?" Isabelle asked hesitantly. Jason, Alicia, Harry, and Ginny all flinched. Isabelle's eyes widened. "Someone close to us?"
"Several," Jason said quietly. "For one, Percy is a Death Eater in this world."
Isabelle's face fell.
"Two others that will be a big problem as well," Alicia said slowly, glancing at Jason in concern.
"Who?" Isabelle said softly.
"You and Jace," Harry said grimly, causing Isabelle and Daphne's eyes to widen in shock.
"W-what?" Isabelle stammered, looking more surprised that Harry had seen in a very long time. "H-how?"
"We don't know," Alicia said helplessly. "Jace theorized that perhaps you and he were captured by the Lestranges when they attacked your home rather than Isla port keying you away, but we're really not sure."
"They're as skilled as our Jace and Izzy?" Daphne asked hesitantly.
"I didn't get a full measure, but they were very good," Jason replied morosely. "They definitely were able to keep up with Alicia and I, both separately and as a pair. We didn't duel them for a long, but they will not be easy to defeat."
"Fuck," Isabelle swore, summing up Harry's thoughts on the matter.
"We can talk about this more later," Ginny said with a sigh. "For now, let's get over to the Order meeting and then afterwards we can fully brief all of you on our current plans, and take some input from you all on possible changes."
**HP**
It took a bit of time to transport everyone over to the field hospital. Jason and Alicia were in no condition to help apparate people, which meant it fell to Harry, Ginny, James, Lily, and Apollo to apparate or flame travel everyone over.
Harry appeared outside the hospital with George and Angelina, glad that they didn't need to make anymore trips as Ginny appeared with Katie and Sirius. Harry looked towards the hospital to see his friends and family in a bit of a standoff with the people of this world. The Weasley's were staring at Ron, tears in their eyes. Barty Crouch was staring at the dimensional travelers distrustfully, while many of the others were giving them hopeful looks, obviously hoping that reinforcements had arrived to take up the fight.
"Ah, Harry, I'm told this is the last of your companions?" Albus said questioningly.
"Yes, this is everyone," Harry confirmed.
"Excellent," Dumbledore said cautiously. "We'll conduct this meeting down in the command room."
Harry nodded, and the group slowly started taking the stairs down into the field hospital. While the hospital had started out as just one large bay to house all the tents they could gather as well as space for extra beds to be conjured, it had expanded into a full base for the Order. They had created several rooms off of the main hospital bay, one of which had copies of all the intel and plans that were in Jason and Alicia's room, another of which had been converted into a large conference room, perfect for meetings for the Order.
They filed into the conference room, injured Order members being helped into the room by their friends or family, grief still etched on the faces of those who'd lost friends and family, like Wendy Jones and Andromeda who'd lost their husbands. At least half of the Order was injured in some manner, and Harry could see his friends and family scrutinizing this world's Order, taking in the state of them.
"So, what exactly did you wish to discuss," Albus asked hesitantly, obviously having a fairly good idea of what Harry's family and friends wished to discuss.
"Well, we've been quickly given an idea of what the situation is in this world," Sirius said, in a controlled forced tone, "and while I sympathize, I'd still like to take a moment to ask what the HELL YOU ALL WERE THINKING?" Sirius finished yelling furiously.
Harry saw all a now quite large portion of the Order flinch, and he could swear he even saw this world's Sirius give Harry's Sirius and approving nod.
"While I understand your frustrations," Albus said firmly, "we didn't have a choice."
"OF COURSE YOU HAD A BLOODY CHOICE!" Sirius snapped. "YOU JUST CHOSE TO SCREW SOMEONE ELSE OVER TO MAKE UP FOR YOUR FAILURES!"
Dumbledore flinched. "It's something I did not want to do, but there are too many lives at stake to not have done it. It might be despicable, but it needed to be done for the greater good."
"Don't you dare justify pulling Harry here with the greater good," Alex said coldly. "You don't get to weigh the life of someone from another world against anyone from this world."
"Our world won our fight, and thus we won our lives," John added firmly. "If you were incapable of doing it yourselves, then perhaps your world just wasn't meant to survive."
Order members started protesting, and arguments started breaking out across the table.
"ENOUGH!" Jason said forcefully, looking irritated from where he was next to Alicia and Isabelle. "What's done is done. Now we need to move."
Harry smirked as Jason was put on the end of glares from all over the room.
"Our friends have agreed to help to kill Riddle," Harry said, drawing the focus onto himself. "This will help us to alter some plans, but also make some of the bolder ones we weren't sure about actually feasible."
"Why have they decided to help us?" Crouch asked suspiciously. "What's in it for them?"
"We're not leaving our brother," Fred (1) said firmly, getting nods or grunts of approval from George (1), Angelina, Jamie, Ron, and Isabelle. Hermione and Neville nodded firmly. "He can't leave because of your spell, so we'll stay to make sure he survives and gets home."
"We've got his back, just like he's always had ours," Katie said fiercely.
"So, how does this alter the plans?" Dumbledore asked, trying to get the meeting on track.
"We can continue to hit the Death Eaters even while you're all recovering, something I doubt they'll expect," Harry said.
"In addition, we have Apollo, and in a couple weeks, we'll have Artemis," Jason added. "Phoenix travel mean can get us anywhere in the world as quick as apparation. We had planned on hitting a couple countries abroad before returning, knowing we could only do so much using port keys, muggle transportation, brooms, and apparation, but now we can really use a great deal of the information that Snape gave us."
"Like what?" Mary McDonald asked with a frown.
"Like the information about where all those reinforcements that Riddle requested are coming from," Alicia explained. "Snape gave us routes and times for portkeys for the Death Eaters and gave us shipping information and routes for the giants, trolls, and Dementors. With Apollo, we can set up ambushes where we know Death Eaters will be waylaid before getting the next portkey, or we can ambush the giants, trolls, and Dementors before they even come, which will also offset more being called since I doubt they will be great at keeping in contact with Riddle."
"We have people to keep attacking the Death Eaters, and they are hurting almost as much as we are right now," Jason said. "It may not seem like it, but they're trying to control the whole country, while also protecting themselves. Riddle has a lot of Death Eaters, but when you spread them out like he's doing, they're spread a lot thinner than you think, especially since he has them split into shifts, so they can rest."
"We'll split into new teams over the next two weeks," Harry said. "We'll mix healthy Order members with people from my world, and your jobs will be striking at targets here in the United Kingdom. As more Order members get out of the field Hospital, they can join up with the strike teams, augmenting the teams, or replacing injuries. Meanwhile, we'll have another team that will start hitting targets abroad. Any questions?"
"Who's going to be in charge of the missions back here in country, and who will lead the missions abroad?" Kingsley asked.
"We'll figure that out and let you know," Harry said.
"How come you get to decide?" Crouch demanded. "This is our world. We've let you lead so far, but we've taken losses under your leadership. Maybe it's time to let us retake control rather than let more your lot be in charge."
Harry felt and watched many of his friends and family tense up. They didn't like the accusatory statement, nor did they like it when people questioned his leadership.
"You all agreed to those missions, and you knew what you were all signing up for," Harry said quietly. "I don't like people dying on missions I've led, but we're in a war. People die. Frankly, a main reason why I would prefer my people leading is that we need as many of you to survive as possible if we want to go home, or at least if I want to go home, but I don't think the same can be said for us with you. You don't even hide your willingness to throw your own people away, so I don't want you or people like you deciding to use my friends and family as spell fodder in order to fight your war. If you don't like how I'm doing things, you are certainly welcome to do your own thing, but you'll do it without my support."
Crouch glared, but he looked around and saw he had very little to no support from the rest of the Order, so he let it lie.
"Alright, dismissed," Harry said, and the Order started leaving the room, though he noticed the Potters, Blacks, Remus, Tonks, and the Weasley's all stayed.
Harry looked at James and Lily. He noticed Sirius (1) glancing at them out of the corner of his eye, but he also was doing his absolute best to avoid looking at Marlene.
"Would you mind if we expand the bunker back at your cottage so that the rest of my friends and family can set up their tents?" he asked, though he figured they wouldn't mind.
"Of course not," Lily said with a smile.
"So you're our counterparts?" Fred (2) and George (2) said together, looking at Harry's brother in laws. "We have to say, as handsome as you are, we think we're better looking."
Harry's Fred and George grinned at the pair.
"Well, I must admit, you are two handsome devils," Fred (1) said nodding in approval.
"Unfortunately, my fine fellows," George (1) said, looking somber, "we are obviously the better looking twins, so you must have faulty vision. Such a terrible thing to happen to two young good looking chaps."
"Oh Merlin, now we have four of them," Katie moaned, and both sets of twins grinned at her evilly.
"Nah, Angie and Jamie will keep our two in line," Ginny said confidently, and the two girls grinned at her while Ron, Isabelle, Sirius, and Neville laughed.
"That's only two of them though!" Neville pointed out. "Who will keep the other two in line?"
"Molly," Harry, Isla, Alex, John, Sarah, Ginny, Ron, and Hermione all said at the same time before looking around and laughing.
"It's too late for anything tonight, but perhaps you would all come to the Burrow for dinner tomorrow?" Molly asked hesitantly, glancing at Ron. "Harry and Ginny have told us a lot, but it would be nice to hear from you all about how your lives are in your world."
"Sure, Molly," Harry said, seeing no harm in it.
Ron was glancing at Molly in confusion, looking around the room before he paled slightly, and Harry figured his friend had just deduced some major differences for his family in this world.
Molly smiled at Harry, before she got up, which seemed to be the signal for the rest of the Weasley clan who got up and followed her out.
"I didn't make it in this world, did I?" Ron asked quietly, as Bill left, leaving only dimensional traveler Weasley's left in the room.
"Neither you nor Gin," Harry answered with sigh. "I guess you were killed in an attack when you were young before Ginny was even born. You died, and your mother suffered a miscarriage, so Ginny was never even born."
"What about Percy?" Ron asked, looking sad to hear about his family's fate in this world.
"He joined up with the Death Eaters," Ginny said grimly, and around the room, people gasped in shock.
"Merlin, every new thing I learn about this world makes it seem even more terrible!" George exclaimed, and many nodded in agreement.
"Assuming that was pretty much all of the Order, are there any other familiar faces that we should be aware of?" Alex asked with a frown.
Harry, Ginny, Jason, and Alicia exclaimed unhappy glances.
"Several," Harry said with sigh, rubbing the back of his neck.
"This worlds Jamie and Alicia are two of the people we rescued from the Death Eater's brothels," Ginny said, a harsh bite in her tone towards the end of her sentence.
Jamie covered her mouth in shock, while John's eyes hardened in anger. Fred pulled Jamie close comfortingly, while his eyes narrowed dangerously
"There are many members of the DA that now work for Riddle, and listing them would be too much effort. The three closest to us that will negatively affect us in our mission is Percy, who's a Death Eater, and . . . " Jason broke off with a sigh. "Myself and Isabelle's counterparts are Death Eaters in this world."
"WHAT?" Alex exclaimed, and he wasn't the only one who let out loud sounds of protest.
"We don't know how," Alicia cut in, causing the room to quiet. "All we know is that they are very skilled and seem to be loyal to Riddle."
"How the hell are we supposed to kill Jace and Izzy, even if they aren't our Jace and Izzy?" Katie asked incredulously.
"You won't have to," Jason said firmly. "Alicia and I will take care of them."
"Jace, you've never hurt Isabelle in your entire life, and now you think you can kill someone who is a variant of your sister?" Angelina asked skeptically.
"It needs to be done," Jason replied firmly. "Alicia and I are up to the task, no matter how hard it will be."
People looked like they were going to argue or disagree, but seeing Harry's shake of his head combined with Jason's obviously tired demeaner convinced everyone to let it lie for the moment.
"I think that's enough for tonight," Ginny said, glancing at Jason and Alicia in concern. "We should get over to the Potter Cottage and set up all your tents and bed down for the night. Tomorrow we can fill you all in on all the intel that we've gathered."
"Can you have the girls come closer to noon tomorrow?" Jason asked, looking at Sirius (2) and Marlene, both of whom nodded hesitantly before Marlene spoke up.
"Are you sure you want to do a lesson with them tomorrow?" She asked cautiously. "You two look exhausted, and some rest would do you good."
"Perhaps," Jason said with a smile, "but we enjoy the lessons with Maddy and Becca, and they won't push us all that hard."
Marlene smiled and nodded.
"Alright then, let's go set up the new bunker and get some rest," Harry said, dismissing the group.
AN: Hope you enjoyed the chapter, and the appearance of so many familiar faces from my first story. I almost didn't want to bring anyone that had been introduced in this alternate dimension, but I felt like it just made sense with how I'd established my previous world. Besides, the chance to have two sets of Weasley twins just seemed like something that could be a lot of fun. Let me know what you think, and thanks for the support so far!
