AN: It's amazing how quickly time can fly by. I really didn't think it had been a month since my last post, but apparently it has been. I've been struggling to get this chapter down, since I've just had so many ideas for some of the other stories that I'm working on. Both a blessing and a curse, I guess. Well, I hope the wait's been worth it. Let me know what you all think, and thanks for the continued support.
Chapter 15
Jason dodged the paralyzing curse thrown his way, spinning out, and throwing up a shield to absorb a stunner that Madelyn had thrown at him. He threw a simple jelly leg jinx back at Rebecca, who'd cast the paralyzing curse, while dodging a stunner thrown by Gabrielle.
It had been three weeks since the attack on Azkaban, and while Jason was able to get out and interact with people, and had started doing lessons with the girls again, he still wasn't back at one hundred percent. He still struggled to cast anything truly destructive, and he hadn't participated in any of the few raids they'd done since. Not that they'd done much since.
Harry was sticking to Ron's vision, which meant they needed to build up their forces, which often meant healing their injured, trying to recruit, and hoping some of those they liberated from the prison and brothels decided to leave the Australian hospital and come back to fight. They'd only done a few small raids on lower level Death Eaters homes. They'd considered trying to kill the new Head of the Department of Magical Transportation, but had been a bit disheartened to learn that it was Percy Weasley who had been selected. Harry didn't seem to have the heart to even suggest killing him, and since none of the Order raised the idea, neither did the dimension travelers.
Jason had noticed that the more militant part of the Order was starting to get antsy, and he was sure Crouch and his crew, possibly even Mad-Eye, had all started going out on their own missions to hit small targets. He knew Harry had noticed, but if Harry had brought it up to Albus, Jason wasn't sure if Albus could or even tried to do anything about it.
It worried him.
On one hand, things were going quite well and according to plan. The Order's numbers were growing as established members were finally returned to full health and joined the rotation of training all the hospital and Azkaban survivors who had also recovered and decided to fight. The Order now had over one hundred and seventy members which included the original Order members, Dimension Travelers, and those that they'd recruited since. Certainly not enough to challenge Voldemort's forces in open combat, but plenty enough to strike at any area that Voldemort controlled. They were already working on several major raids in the coming two weeks, which would hopefully cripple Voldemort's offensive capabilities.
Across the world, Voldemort's forces were losing the fight. They had victories here and there, but overall, major resistances and alliances were forming and wiping out dark arts supporters wherever they were found, and since Voldemort had been in power for so long, and been in control for so long, most dark arts supporters hadn't hid their loyalties. It meant that for the first time, around the world, Death Eaters and their families had to worry about being ambushed and not knowing who to trust since they didn't have the numbers to attack every magical person in the world.
The South American Alliance (SAA) had completely retaken the Caribbean, and were relentlessly pushing north, quickly reconquering Central America. However, like Ileana had worried about, the SAA had started getting very reckless in their victories, and had thus suffered several losses along the way, and even some of their victories had been far more costly than needed. Mexico in the southern part of North America and Honduras were the only two countries in the region that the Death Eaters still held, and according to Ileana, who was sending intelligence regularly, Honduras would fall any day. Mexico was still a hot bed, but with the SAA now concentrating all its forces and combining with the Mexican Resistance, it would only be a matter of time.
In North America, the Americans' resistance had surged to unprecedented numbers. While they'd always mostly held their country, they'd only been able to match the Death Eater's numbers, and had been unable to really push them out, but with the rest of the world now pushing to to crush the Death Eaters, the Americans seemed to have found the motivation to put all their effort into fighting back. Perhaps it was just the old American mindset of not being outdone, but it was now estimated that they outnumbered the Death Eaters by more than two to one. They'd started large-scale coordinated attacks on Death Eaters and their bases of operation in both the United States and in Canada, and Harry's destruction patronus had spread throughout several of the various resistances, and the dementor populations were slowly being destroyed. The leaders of the American forces were also in talks to coordinate with the SAA to help in Mexico. With time, the SAA, the Americans, and the other various resistances would retake the two continents.
The African continent was in complete chaos. There weren't any countries that could be claimed as belonging to either the Death Eaters or any resistance or government. It was utter anarchy. They didn't have much intel of what was going on in Asia or the Middle East. They knew that the Oceania islands had fully been retaken by the Oceanic Alliance, and part of Southeast Asia had been reclaimed before the Oceanic Alliance had pulled off its assault due to their lack of numbers after a long, and overtaxing campaign. Death Eaters in other Southeastern Asian nations had started a campaign to take back lost countries, but resistances in their own countries were on the rise, and it was unlikely that the Death Eater's counter strike would be of much success. Jason highly doubted the Death Eaters really controlled much in Asia, since populations were much higher, and like America, controlling large populations was just far more difficult, but they didn't have contacts to confirm.
Overall, Voldemort's army was in disarray, and he could hardly claim to be King of the World anymore. Frankly, Jason was quite happy with that, and he really thought that the Order should be as well, but he knew the blood thirstiest members hardly were. They wouldn't be happy until Voldemort and all his Death Eaters were dead and forgotten. He couldn't really blame them for that, but Jason was tired of this fucking war, and he knew they all needed some time to decompress before ramping up for the final chapter of the war.
Jason was tired of war in general. Sure, he and Alicia traveled the world hunting Dark witches and wizards and their supporters and that obviously involved conflict and light skirmishes, but they'd never really wanted to end up in another war, like in Britain, and now they'd been in two since their own. He didn't like it one bit.
He wanted to travel, see new sights, learn new magic, and have new experiences with his wife, while trying to stop dark witches and wizards BEFORE they started a bloody war. While he still liked the idea of traveling to capture dark witches and witches, or rounding up smugglers and other criminals as requested, he was sure that after this was over, he and Alicia would need to take a serious look at how they lived, and they would need to be a lot pickier on which assignments they accepted.
Most of Jason's days were spent trying to train all their new recruits, teaching Maddy, Rebeca, and Gabrielle, spending time with his family and friends, Isabelle, Jamie, and Alicia in particular, or trying to work through his issues. He even managed to spend a little time reading or studying new things just to try and provide some semblance of normalcy. It really wasn't all that bad, except for knowing that the war was in its final chapter, and soon they'd be back in combat. It was inevitable, and even though Jason knew he wasn't at his best, he wasn't going to sit it out.
Jason focused as the three girls did their best to assist each other in hexing him. He flicked his wrist causing a stone wall to rise out from the ground and take three spells sent his way. He then turned invisible and shadow traveled behind the girls. Gabrielle and Madelyn threw explosion curses at the wall, blasting it apart, but Rebecca, to Jason's pride, sensed him appearing behind them. He hadn't hid his magical signature as a way to test Rebecca, and he was glad to see that she was taking advantage of that. She turned and raised her own shield that absorbed the leg locker, stunner, and sneezing jinx.
"Stop pulling your punches, Jace!" Isabelle yelled from the sidelines as Rebecca fired another paralyzing curse at Jason, who easily shielded himself. "Rebecca, force that loser to fight back! Throw something nastier at him. Gabby, Maddy, cast your spells faster! Don't give him time to think!"
Jason shot a glare at his sister as the three girls hastened to follow Isabelle's commands. Gabby and Maddy started casting quick stunners, body binds, impediment curses, and a variety of possible duel ending jinxes and curses as rapidly as they could while Rebecca started slowly increasing the complexity of her spells as she started getting used to sending possibly lethal spells.
Jason danced around several of the spells, sending up a shield to intercept the rest. Jason knew his sister was right. It was time he stopped taking it easy on the girls. Jason flicked his wrist rapidly, creating six stone golems that rose from the ground and started running at the girls. Gabby flinched while Maddy threw several ineffective spells at two of the golems. Rebecca reacted in a better fashion, launching two successive blasting curses that destroyed two of the golems, but unfortunately it didn't stop two of them from launching themselves on top of Gabby and Maddy, pinning them to the floor. Rebecca apparated away from the last two golems that went after her, appearing right behind them and then she quickly destroyed them.
In that time though, Jason had quickly stunned Gabby and Maddy, so the remaining two golems started running towards Rebecca. She blasted them apart, but was quickly forced to dive out of the way of a volley of stunners Jason and sent towards her.
He kept up the pressure, sending fast, accurate spells at her, as she dodged or shielded herself, barely holding on, when Jason used Kingsley's old trick creating a magical flash bang that blinded Rebecca as he shadow traveled behind her and sent a stunner into her back as she tried to vainly shield in front of her.
He revived the three girls, who shook their heads at each other looking glum to have been defeated, even if they knew they didn't really stand a chance against Jason.
"You're all doing better," Jason said, trying to make them feel a bit better. "Your issues mostly deal with your creativity and your spell choice. Gabby, Maddy, you two are more than skilled enough to start trying to mix in the occasional charm or transfiguration into your repertoires, and expanding your spell list a bit more. I know you know a great many spells, but you tend to fall back to only a few, and that's a habbit you need to break."
Both girls nodded sheepishly, knowing the exact drills they needed to practice, since Jason, Ginny, Alicia, and Harry had all shown them the exercises.
"Becca, you're getting a lot better," Jason said with a smile. "You just need to think outside the box, and be as flexible as you can. That will help you get to the next level."
Rebecca nodded seriously, knowing she wasn't where she wanted to be, but she was on that path.
"Alright, you lot, you go get some lunch before the afternoon lessons," Isabelle said, before turning to Jason. "I'm going to go find Daph, and we'll go do another reconaissance of Diagon Alley."
Jason nodded, and his sister shadow traveled away. It was just him and the three girls now. Harry and Ginny were with Ron, planning the next missions, while Alicia was off with Jamie and her mother, having some family time. Most of the other dimension travelers were out preparing for the next mission, or doing their own thing with their significant others.
Everyone started moving back towards the hidden base, which had become a truly large underground structure that had spread far and wide. With the growing numbers to the Order, they'd expanded the underground bunker creating basically a mini village that sprawled under the area, with multiple wings for different things whether that be training, briefings, or living. Jason and Alicia had been tempted to move their own tent to the Order base, but had decided against it, since it was crowded enough as is. Besides, all of their fellow dimension travelers enjoyed leaving the Order base to go back to the Potter Cottage or sometimes the Burrow or even Grimmauld Place a few times for dinners or relaxing nights in, and were loathed to give them up, which might happen if they stayed at the Order base.
They started walking through one of the many long corridors into one of the larger open rooms when an explosion shook the foundations of the walls, and dust rained down upon them. Soon several more explosions could be heard, and just as Jason was about to Shadow Travel up to the surface, several holes opened up through the roof and several Death Eaters dropped down, firing curses at everyone in the room, hitting two of the newer Order members who had been staring in disbelief.
Jason rushed forward and launched an advanced stunner which blew one of the Death Eaters into the wall, taking him out of the fight, as the now four remaining Death Eaters were engaged by Gabby, Becca, Maddy, and two Order members Jason didn't know.
Jason decided to play a bit defensive, so that he could protect the three girls and two Order members while they went on the offensive, so he mainly conjured blocks walls or shields to intercept the nasty curses that the Death Eaters were throwing, and his actions paid off as two of the Death Eaters were defeated, one by Gabby and Maddy working together to stun him, and the other killed by Rebecca who had come along way in the last months.
Jason expected the two remaining Death Eaters to pull back, but they desperately pushed on, despite being outnumbered, though it paid off as four more Death Eaters came out of one of the hallways into their room and started casting curses, putting the Order members on the defensive once again.
"Maddy! Becca!" Marlene's voice called out, and Jason turned to see Sirius (2) and Marlene come running in from a different passage and each cast two cutting curses which dropped one of the Death Eaters.
Jason released a volley of fire which engulfed two Death Eaters who tried to desperately shield themselves, but were unable to counter the heat, and were cooked alive, just as Rebecca hit another with a heart explosion curse, and the two Order members stunned another, leaving only one Death Eater who had been trying to curse Maddy, but ended up being blown into a wall as a volley of curses ripped him apart.
"Mum! Dad!" Maddy exclaimed. "What's going on? Where did all these Death Eaters come from?"
"I don't know," Sirius growled, "but they're all over the place."
"I can sense several hundred up there," Jason said grimly, focusing on his Sensing skill, "and they have at least twenty reinforcing the anti-apparation and anti-portkey wards. Breaking them will be very difficult. Better to flame travel or shadow travel out."
"We have to help everyone else get out though," Rebecca said firmly. "Not everyone here can shadow travel.
"You get your sister and Gabby out of here," Sirius said. "Jason and I will go help everyone else."
"Dad, I'm not leaving yet. Mom can get Maddy and Gabby out," Rebecca retorted.
Sirius was about to retort, but Jason knew they didn't have time.
"Artemis!" Jason called
His familiar flame traveled into the room.
"Get Maddy, Gabby, and Marlene out of here," Jason ordered and then he instantly summoned his sword and Shadow Robes that he spelled on, and then he put his sword on his back, "and then come back to help others get away. Sirius, Becca, you're both with me. We need to get moving, now."
Sirius looked like he wanted to argue, but knowing Jason was right, he nodded, and after Artemis flashed away with Marlene, Maddy, and Gabby, the later two of whom were protesting, the three of them quickly moved off further into the compound where they could hear a fierce battle going on.

Harry, Ginny, Ron, and Hermione were trying to shield other Order members so that they could flee further into the base where Isabelle was having Apollo flash people out. The problem was Death Eaters were everywhere, and were slowly blasting their way down into the tunnels in multiple places. The only thing going for them was that while the Death Eaters had caught them unprepared, they'd obviously underestimated the size of the Order base.
Unfortunately, it was so hard to even tell how many Order members were left, or where they might be. Harry could only hope that the more experienced members of the Order that were able to Shadow Travel were getting people out, and Artemis was doing the same thing Apollo was, but Harry was still sure that they would suffer heavy losses.
They reached a juncture in the base after blasting through three more Death Eaters. There were two directions to travel, not including heading back, so if they wanted to find people, they needed to split up.
"We'll take the right," Ron said, already having arrived at the same conclusion, and Harry nodded as Ron and Hermione rushed off down the corridor towards where they could hear the fight still raging.
Harry and Ginny took the left corridor and it wasn't long before they reached another one of the larger rooms that had been set up as a common room for Order members to relax in. It was a battle ground with nearly ten Death Eaters dueling seven Order members, though Harry could see several people from both groups already on the ground dead.
Harry looked in horror to see Dedalus Diggle on his knees in front of a Death Eater who was clearly using Legilimency. Harry pointed his wand toward the Death Eater, but suddenly the Death Eater stepped back and then used a cutting charm to decapitate Diggle.
Harry felt his anger surge and he launched a heart explosion curse that was deflected by the cloaked Death Eater who pulled back his hood, revealing his face: Jason Witcher. His eyes burned with rage and madness. There was a manic smile on his face as he took in Harry's and Ginny's shocked faces.
Ginny gasped in surprise, and Harry felt his anger drop slightly as he cursed fate for having to face both of the Witcher's counterparts. He knew he needed to kill Jason here and now for many reasons, but they didn't have time for this, and he really didn't want to, no matter how much he knew it needed to be done. If he could do it now though, he wouldn't have to worry about possibly Jason, Alicia, or Isabelle having to face Jason's evil counterpart later on, nor would he have to worry about what damage the Death Eater could do with his power. Regardless, he needed to engage him now so that the other Order members could get away, regardless of the outcome of the duel.
Ginny gave him a quick nod before she rushed off to engage the Death Eaters that were fighting the other Order members in the room while Harry pointed his wand at Jason and thought, 'Tempus subsisto!'
The resulting spell that left Harry's wand was so powerful that Harry felt the hair on his own arms stand up. He rarely used this spell, but Jason was hardly a normal opponent. Jason raised a silver shield that took Harry's spell, a gong-like sound coming from the impact. Jason snarled and launched a black bolt of cursed fire that Harry dodged, before retaliating with a cutting curse and a blasting curse.
Their duel started picking up its pace as Ginny helped the Order members start to rally before slowly falling back. Knowing he couldn't defeat Jason in the short time he had left, Harry started a defensive duel, which ended up being the smart decision as more Death Eaters poured into the room and started to engage him, Ginny, and the straggling Order members. Things were not looking good for them.

One Death Eater was blasted into the wall of the tunnel they were in, while another's head rolled off his shoulders as Alicia, Jamie, and their parents worked their way through the tunnels, searching for Order members. Overall, they had managed to rescue more than she thought, but it wouldn't be much longer before they needed to retreat. However, she wasn't leaving until she either found Jace, or got word he'd escaped. She'd been tempted to ask Artemis to flame travel them to him, but figured they needed to help the Order members in their section of the base.
She wanted to know how the bloody hell they'd found this base. It was in such a remote location, and very well hidden. It was highly unlikely anyone would just stumble upon it, not with its protections. So, did someone betray them or were they somehow tracked to this location?
Regardless, to use the American colloquialism, the Death Eaters had caught them with their pants down. Alicia knew casualties would be very high, even if they killed a fair few Death Eaters, and all the work they'd done to prepare for the end of the war was now up in flames.
Alicia vented her frustrations by unleashing an acid curse that engulfed two Death Eaters causing the two to start screaming as their clothes and skin started melting off their bones. An extremely horrible way to die, but it was a curse that wouldn't cause more damage to the integrity of the tunnel and it was also fairly hard to counter.
She saw her mother and Jamie flinch at the sight of the two Death Eaters, but while her mother sent her a slightly disapproving look, Jamie's eyes hardened and she launched a piercing curse that hit another Death Eater that had dared to face them in the chest, causing blood to spurt like he'd been stabbed by a sword.
They pushed into the next large corridor seeing a few straggling Order members that were clearly outmatched, so they rushed to engage, but it was too late as two more Death Eaters entered and sent killing curses that dropped both.
Alicia glared and launched explosive curses towards the pair, but they were absorbed by a absorbing shield. She was surprised until she heard the cackling that she had hoped to never hear again, and she watched the two Death Eaters lower their hoods revealing Bellatrix and Rodolphus Lestrange.
"Well, well, well, a couple more wittle Order members come to play," Bellatrix said in the same babyish sing-song Alicia remembered.
"Mum, dad, Jamie, pull back and call for Artemis," Alicia said in a steely tone. "Leave these two to me."
"Ooh, the brat thinks she's a big girl," Bellatrix said in delight.
"She thinks she can take us," Rodolphus said with a wicked grin and he licked his lips. "I think I'm going to enjoy taking her."
"Alicia, let us help," Jamie said, and Alicia turned towards her.
"No," Alicia said sternly, with a tone that left no room for arguments. "I'll deal with these two while you get out of here. After this I'll get Jace and go."
"Alicia -" her mum started to say.
"Go, now," Alicia said, and she stepped towards the two Lestranges, wandlessly raising a shield behind her that forced the rest of her family to take a step backwards.
"You are a feisty one," Rodolphus said with a manic grin. "I like that. They always fight back the hardest and then become the most submissive after they're broken."
"She looks like a squealer," Bellatrix said. "I bet she'll just fall apart once we start on her."
"I guess we'll find out," Alicia said, and she gained a feral grin as she Sensed Artemis flame travel in and grab her protesting family and flash away. "Now, let's get this show on the road."
Bellatrix and Rodolphus started laughing, but it was cut very short when Alicia launched a flesh-rendering curse and a soul destruction curse that both Death Eaters were forced to dive out of the way of. Alicia didn't let up. She started launching cutting curses, piercing curses, mummifcation curses, and other various curses that were likely to kill the two Death Eaters. Their faces took on snarls as they dodged and shielded themselves, while returning curses of their own.
As the Death Eaters started getting more frustrated as they struggled to match Alicia, they started resorting to Cruciatus curses and Killing curses, knowing they couldn't be blocked, but they were thwarted as Alicia simply conjured bricks to take them. To their surprise and extreme anger, she was pushing them back.
"DIE YOU STUPID BITCH!" Bellatrix screamed as she started launching black bolts of energy, but her aim was off in her rage, and Alicia, ginning, only had to dodge one of the three bolts sent towards her, and then she used Jason's ethereal charm as a killing curse from Rodolphus came at her, letting it pass through before she retaliated with soul fire that engulfed Rodolphus who'd dropped his guard when his killing curse seemingly hit.
"NO!" Bellatrix screamed as Rodolphus cried out as his body and soul was engulfed and he died.
She glared with hatred at Alicia and started launching a variety of dark curses with incredible speed, but it was for naught as Alicia weaved about the spells and then vanished into shadow appearing behind Bellatrix. The mad witch turned to confront her only to have a sword get stuck through her chest.
Bellatrix gasped and blood gurgled out of her mouth as she fell to her knees. "I-impossible," she gasped out. "M-my l-lord . . ."
Alicia stared at her coldly, removed her sword from Bellatrix's chest and then cut off her head with one powerful slice, ending the crazy murderer once and for all.
"Good riddance," Alicia muttered before she turned to where several more Death Eaters had just come running into the room, all of them coming to a quick stop as they stared in shock at the witch who'd killed two of their best. 'Inflamari maxima!' Alicia thought and a bolt of fire leapt from her wand hitting the lead Death Eater and exploded, engulfing all three.
It was time for her to find Jason. She looked at her wedding ring which was enchanted to help her find him, no matter how far he might me, and she smiled knowing exactly where she needed to go.
**HP**
Things couldn't get much worse. At least, that's what Jason was thinking as he launched a jet of fire that engulfed two Death Eaters trying to come through the doorway that Jason had turned into a fatal funnel while Artemis flame traveled in to take out several wounded Order members that he, Rebecca, and Sirius had saved.
As soon as the last three Order members were away, he was going to tell Rebecca and Sirius to get away while he went and found his wife. He sent another blast of fire towards the doorway, staving off more Death Eaters from entering when he suddenly Sensed a lot of power to his right, and the wall was blown in. Jason shielded himself and his comrades, but wanted to immediately start cussing up a storm when he looked at who'd just joined this shitshow of a party.
"Hello, Tom," Jason greeted, looking upon Lord Voldemort in the flesh. To his right was Barty Crouch Jr., and to his left was Regulus Black. This was really fucking bad.
"You dare call me that name?" Voldemort said with a murderous glare. "I Sensed your noticeable magical potential, and came to investigate, but you'll be unimportant after I've killed you, so I guess it won't really matter."
"Well, it is your name, no matter how much you'd like to pretend you're not a halfblood who couldn't get over his mommy and daddy issues," Jason said, smirking, though he knew Voldemort couldn't see it.
Voldemort's eyes flashed dangerously, and Jason could see his grip tighten on his wand, and Jason was ready as Voldemort, Crouch, and Regulas all launched killing curses straight at him. He conjured three bricks which took the curses, and then he retaliated with a gust of powerful wind that Voldemort shielded himself and his minions from.
Jason hoped Sirius and Rebecca were about to grab the three Order members and run, but his hopes fell when he saw Sirius rush to engage Regulas, a vicious scowl on his face. Jason engaged Voldemort, knowing he had no choice now, and he was going to keep Crouch occupied, but Rebecca rushed at him, getting in the way of Jason's efforts as the two clashed.
Jason unleashed everything he had at Voldemort, figuring he needed to keep the Dark Lord on his toes, but even though Jason was probably the superior duelist, Voldemort was by no means a pushover, and it was taking nearly everything Jason had to keep up with the monster, since one slip up meant Jason was dead. It didn't help that he was trying to keep tabs on his companions, and what he saw was not good. Rebecca had gotten a lot better over the last months, but she was no match for Crouch, who was a superb duelist, and obviously much more knowledgeable than Rebecca. Jason could tell that Crouch was playing with Becca, and Jason knew he needed to step in before Crouch grew tired of playing with his food and went for the kill. On the other side, the two Black brothers were fairly evenly matched, but whereas Sirius was angry, and casting everything with power fueled by rage, Regulus was calm, collected, and matching his brother's rage with a cold, sneering indifference.
Jason felt fear shoot through him when he heard Rebecca start screaming, and he glanced over to see her under the cruciatus curse. Crouch was laughing as he held her under it, licking his lips with a kind of crazed glee that Jason associated with Voldemort's top lieutenants.
"Rebecca!" Sirius called out in fear, and then he was forced to dodge a killing curse from Regulus. Jason launched a quick lightning bolt at Crouch, who dodged it, while dodging another heart explosion curse from Voldemort and then he placed himself in front of Crouch and Rebecca, positioning himself to face both Voldemort and Crouch.
"Rebecca, pull back," Jason ordered, as he had to shield himself from a volley of curses that the two dark wizards launched at him.
While under normal conditions, Jason would have been able to at least handle Crouch and Voldemort by fighting a defensive duel, now was a struggle due to him having to protect Rebecca, Jason couldn't utilize his speed and reflexes to dodge, and was thus forced to conjure items or shield himself from everything the two wizards launched at him, and unfortunately, that was not the best way to duel multiple opponents, especially ones as skilled as these two.
Jason heard Rebecca stagger to her feet, and then start limping back towards the three downed Order members to retreat, which sent relief through him, as he knew that they could all fall back at that point, but as Rebecca escaped the protective area that Jason was shielding her in, Regulus struck.
He launched a jet of wind at Sirius blowing him back slightly before he leveled his wand at Rebecca and launched a killing curse.
"NO!" Sirius yelled, his gaze following the curse that was heading towards his daughter.
Rebecca dropped to the floor avoiding the curse, causing relief to go through Jason, but it was short lived as he felt horror as a heart explosion curse went straight into Sirius's chest as he'd turned back to furiously fight his brother and get revenge for the cheap shot. His face showed nothing but shock as he fell back to the floor to never rise again.
"DAD!" Rebecca wailed, pain and grief etched on her face.
Regulus didn't even blink at the death of his brother. He just turned his cold gaze upon Jason, as Crouch and Voldemort laughed. Jason blinked back tears, hardening his emotions with his Occlumency shields, and he jumped into what might possibly be the last duel of his life.
Jason used Isabelle's cloning charm to create two copies of himself. The first copy moved forward and readied himself for the onslaught, while the second copy moved back, placing himself in front of Rebecca.
Voldemort's grin faded as he saw the use of the spell, and Jason smirked as he launched a gust of wind that he enhanced with fire, creating a burning blaze that Voldemort shielded himself and his men from with a water shield. Crouch and Regulus countered with cutting curses, but Jason's first clone raised a powerful shield that intercepted the curses before Jason banished it at Crouch, who was forced to vanish it before it crushed him.
Behind him, Jason's second clone had started chanting in a low tone, waving his wand in a slow ritualistic motion while Rebecca continued to sob over her father's corpse that she'd summoned over to her. Jason's lead clone intercepted two cutting curses with a swipe of his blade before launching a volley of black fire spears at his three opponents. Voldemort furiously blasted the ones approaching him away, and Regulus managed to counter them, but Crouch was a bit slow, and took a blazing spear to his right leg. He screamed in pain as his leg slowly burned under the cursed fire before he managed to counter the curse. It was too slow though, and he collapsed on the ground, unable to support any weight on the now ruined leg.
Voldemort and Regulus started launching a furious volley of destructive curses that Jason's lead clone intercepted with his blade, shielded himself from, or conjured items to intercept. He stayed defensively for a couple moments before he Sensed that his other clone was ready and then dived out of the way as his clone pointed his wand at Voldemort and Regulus.
"Dicunt tempus!" Jason's second clone said forcefully, and for the first time, Jason saw fear on Voldemort's face. His second clone then launched a blasting curse at Regulus who simply shielded himself, but looked puzzled as the spell seemed to disappear in air. His surprise only grew when the spell materialized on the other side of his shield and blew him back where he dropped to the ground unconscious, and his face singed from the explosion.
"Who are you?" Voldemort asked coldly, giving Jason an appraising look.
"Someone who will see you dead someday," Jason replied back as his second clone grabbed onto the three Order members and Shadow Traveled away.
He was about to run and grab Sirius and Rebecca when Alicia materialized into the room.
"Alicia, get Becca," Jason said, and she nodded, immediately grabbing onto Rebecca and Sirius's body before Shadow Traveling away.
Jason returned his blade to its sheath on his back, staring at the Dark Lord who was looking beyond furious.
"Until next time, Tom," Jason said with sardonic salute and he Shadow Traveled away as a killing curse went towards where he'd been standing.
**HP**
Harry was struggling against Jason's evil twin. He wasn't as skilled as Harry's friend, but his style wasn't quite the same, which was throwing Harry off. Even if he wasn't as skilled as Harry's friend, he was still a very tough opponent.
He was happy to see that Artemis had gotten two of the Order members away, and he was about to have Ginny grab the last two so the four of them could Shadow Travel when he felt a ward to stop Shadow Travel fall into place with the other two wards. He saw Ginny tense up as she too must have Sensed it. Now, they would have to rely on Artemis or Apollo.
Four more Death Eaters came into the room and started launching curses at Ginny and the Order members, the latter two of whom were barely keeping up. He didn't blame them. There were seven Death Eaters casting curses at them and Ginny, while Harry was containing Jason. Harry figured they only needed to hold out for another minute or so, but those thoughts were dashed as two more Death Eaters entered the room. Knowing he needed to help his wife and the Order members, Harry pulled back and started assisting in the shielding, trying to help them buy time, but it was now a race to see whether they would die or whether the phoenixes would get there in time.
Harry groaned as one of the Order member's shields faltered, and he took a piercing curse to the face, killing him instantly. It was now three against ten. Just as he was almost beginning to worry, the wall blew in, and a mummification curse and two bolts of black fire flew into the room, killing three Death Eaters instantly.
Harry stared, stunned, as Grindelwald stepped into the room, radiating power as he launched a jet of acid that coated two more Death Eaters who started screaming as their skin melted. He launched a powerful gust of air that knocked all the Death Eaters, save Jason, back, and then Harry knew they were good as Artemis and Apollo both appeared in the room. Harry, Ginny, Grindelwald, and the Order member all quickly grabbed a tail feather and they flame traveled out.
They survived the day, but Harry had to wonder how much of a loss this had truly been for the Order and the resistance against Voldemort and his regime.
