Chapter One
Serena Ishida, adoptive sister to Yamato " Matt " Ishida and Takeru " TK " Takaishi stretches wearily, why the hell was she up this early again? " Serena, are you up yet? "
" Matt, I love you, but shut the hell up! " Serena shouts as she grabs her stuff and gets ready for the day.
In the kitchen Matt grimaces, he'd found her injured and barely alive just after his adventures in Digiworld, when no one had claimed her his dad had adopted her. She had been wary around them for months though she warmed up to him first. Serena, they'd discovered, was not in any way a morning person. His little sister also had taken to track quite easily, she was a runner though she would play other sports for fun like volleyball and soccer. That was how she'd met Taichi " Tai " Kamiya and Daisuke " Davis " Motomiya. Serena had warmed up to them quicker but this didn't bug Matt. He knew Tai was the kind of person that just gave off this trusting vibe. He didn't know Davis nearly as well though, but Tai trusted and liked the kid so he did nothing.
Matt watches as his sister powers through her breakfast easily and gives her, her lunch. She still didn't have many friends and it had been discovered that she was ADHD two weeks after she started going to school. Dad had hired her a good tutor though Tai was able to help her out by quizzing her while they were playing soccer, Davis had started doing so too, according to Serena. Once she has all her stuff she races out the door, she never wore anything even remotely girly, baffling the males she lived with, though she did make sure they had fresh food in the house and managed to keep it somewhat clean.
Her room could be described as organized chaos. Serena leaps the fence by the soccer field and drops her stuff, " Hey, Davis. "
" All right, ready to play. " Davis says, he had on a purple and white horizontally striped shirt, tan shorts, rectangular goggles, and a blue vest on over that. He wore blue and white running shoes as well. Serena had on a purple t-shirt, black shorts, her blonde hair was pulled back into a braid, black and purple running shoes, along with a pendant shaped like a heart with wings, she never went anywhere without that. It never swung up into her face either.
Fifteen minutes later the ball goes sailing and a blonde kid wearing a yellow and teal long sleeved shirt, a Gilligan style hat, and khaki colored capris catches it. Serena rolls her eyes, " Takeru, give me that ball now. "
" Sis, don't call me Takeru, it's TK. " the now identified kid says.
" Ah, your other adoptive brother, the younger one, right? " Davis says, coming over as well.
" Yep, and no he is not Tai, Takeru, this is Davis Motomiya. " Serena says.
" Ah, the infamous Davis. Pleasure to meet you. " TK says, handing the ball back.
" Same here, TS. " Davis says, Serena snickers at this and TK groans, not another that got their fun out of nicknames, or in his sister's case, calling him by his full name, she didn't do that to Matt.
Serena drags Davis off to get their stuff and get to class, for some reason she hated being late to class and Davis always went with her to keep her company though they always ended up in the same class along with Hikari " Kari " Kamiya. Serena had nothing against Kari she just felt more comfortable with males though she had no idea why. Matt, Davis, and Tai were all of the opinion that it had to do with the past that she had forgotten.
Both of them follow when a purple haired girl wearing glasses at the end of school comes up to them, Kari, and TK with an email for Kari from Tai. That got Serena and Davis to follow them. An older red headed male approaches the purplette and Serena tunes out until a deep purple light heads right for her, turning into a necklace with a gem inside it with an engraving that looked like a mini mountain range and a purple and white somewhat ovular shaped device. Davis ended up catching the blue and white device shaped similarly to hers, " They have digivices. " the red head says.
" Yeah, but they're different models than ours. " Kari says.
" My sister also has a tag and crest. " TK says.
" I thought all the crests had been given out. " the red head muses even as Kari holds her digivice up to the computer and disappears.
Serena smiles, " Come on, Davis, let's go. This promises to be fun. "
She puts the tag and crest on over her head, then holds her digivice up to the computer, same with Davis and TK. The red head was quick to follow them, and the purplette returns to an empty computer lab with a younger boy. Serena stares around her in wonder and giggles happily. The red head comes over to her, " We haven't been properly introduced, I'm Koushiro Izumi but everyone, including my parents, call me Izzy. "
" Serena Ishida, younger sister to the pretty boy and slightly older sister to Takeru. " Serena says.
" Why can't you call me TK? " said blonde asks.
" Because it bugs you, TA. " Davis answers for her.
" TK. " an orange and white hamster with ears shaped like bat wings cries out, flying towards the male blonde.
" Izzy, you sure are a sight for great big green sore eyes. " a rather large lady bug says.
" Kari, you're here! " a white feline with a purple and white striped tail says.
" Gatomon, your tail ring, tell me everything. " Kari says, kneeling down to hug her partner.
While the others are catching up with their partners only Serena and Davis notice Tai, " Serena, Davis, what are you two doing here? " Tai asks, a small orange dinosaur walking beside him.
They hold up their digivices, " That's what those lights were when I touched the Digi Egg of Courage. Come on, we need to move. " Tai says.
Once at the cave Serena pushes Davis forward and motions for him to lift the egg. It comes up easily and two digimon come out, one being a blue dragon named Veemon and the other being a yellow fox named Renamon, " Serena, I have been waiting a very long time for you. "
Serena smiles at this, " Takeru, I'm assuming Matt knows about all this, right? "
" Yeah, he does, why? "
" I'm taking Renamon home with me. " Serena says seriously before she goes deeper into the cave and finds an egg with her crest on it. She pulls it up and races back to the others just as they're attacked.
" Pepper Breath. " the orange dino she found out on the way to the cave, was an Agumon calls out.
" Boom Bubble Breath! " the hamster bat knows as Patamon says.
" Diamond Storm! " Renamon calls out.
Serena zeroes in on the dark ring, " Digi Armor Energize! "
" Renamon armor digivolve to… Juéxīnmon, the determined warrior. "
" Juéxīnmon, focus on the dark ring. " Serena calls out, her partner now looked like a MMA fighter, only she was lithe and lean. She had a some similarities to her previous form as well.
Davis blinks, " Digi Armor Energize! "
" Veemon armor digivolve to… Flamedramon, the fire of courage. " ( AN: Just look up what he looks like with google images if you don't know).
With the two armor digimon working together the dark ring is destroyed and Serena frowns as they leave the cave, feeling a wave of darkness and then she sees the black tower that looked like an obelisk, " Juéxīnmon, destroy that tower, I don't like it. "
Davis follows her line of vision and his eyes narrow, " Flamedramon, help her out. "
Once the tower was down more Monochromon come to attack them. Davis tackles Kari out of the way even as Gatomon digivolves to Angewomon. " Wait, you can digivolve now. It must have been that black tower. " Izzy says.
" So taking out the towers allows for our partners to digivolve the normal way. " Tai says.
Davis dodges out of the way of a fire ball, said fire ball just missing his goggles. Serena just twirls her way through all of the attacks that were coming her way like it was child's play. Her dad had paid for dance and martial arts lessons when she'd shown and interest, plus he liked the idea of his daughter being able to defend herself, she had yet to meet his ex-wife. Tai watches her in disbelief, how could anyone dodge attacks like that, " Flamedramon, barbeque those rings. "
" Juéxīnmon, you know what to do, find the tower that the signal to these rings is coming from. " Serena calls out, still dodging every attack coming her way.
" Tentomon digivolve to… Kabuterimon. "
" Agumon digivolve to… Greymon. "
" Patamon digivolve to… Angemon. "
The digimon still at the location set to work on taking out the black rings, Izzy's mind was whirring hundreds of miles per second, taking in everything. Once they were done Serena smiles at her partner, " None of you are staying here, we need you all in good health, let's go. "
" Serena's right, " Davis says, " This way if there are any attacks in our world you older kids will be able to fight back. "
" He does raise an excellent point, Tai. " Izzy admits.
" True, but where will they stay, although our parents do know I just don't want them to know there's trouble again. " Tai says.
" Agumon could stay with me, Tai. " Serena says.
They leave Digiworld with Veemon and Renamon reverting to their in-training forms of Demiveemon and Viximon. Agumon had also reverted to make hiding him easier. Izzy's parents had missed Tentomon and Gatomon was sneaky. Patamon and the others were now small enough to hide in bags, backpacks and the like. Serena skips away, " Don't forget to get your homework done, Davis. "
Davis snorts, with as smart as he was he could sleep through every class and still pass. Serena races for home and giggles when she sees Matt, " Oh, Tai's going to be calling you to set up a meeting, Digiworld is in trouble, oh, and Koromon plus my partner, Viximon, will be staying here. " Serena says, pulling the two digimon out of her duffel bag.
" Say what… you're a digidestined! "
" Of Determination. " Serena says and heads to the table to start to work on her homework, she had everything done but her math when she throws it down in disgust.
Matt chuckles, math always frazzled her ADHD brain, but Tai had taught him a few tricks to help her out. Once her homework is done Serena takes an inventory and curses up a blue streak, " Yamato Ishida! "
Matt winces, she only called him Yamato when she was pissed. " Yes, my kind, loving, compassionate little sister. "
" Why the hell didn't you get the groceries like you were supposed to and don't you dare tell me it was because of band practice. " Serena hisses it out.
Koromon and Viximon both watch a little frightened at her display of temper. Matt gulps, he hated being on the receiving end of her temper, it was always nasty. " I am so sorry, I'll pick up the groceries tomorrow immediately after school, I promise, and I won't forget your chocolate. "
Ever since she'd hit puberty her not having her chocolate was a nightmare for the Ishida males. Thankfully Tai's mom had had a certain little talk with Serena to spare the males that embarrassment.
