(Logan's P.O.V.) -A hour before dawn-

I didn't know what woke me up, but when I heard harsh cawing, I was understandably irritated, and I opened the tent partially, glaring out at the bird that was out to bother me when I blinked in surprise to see a strange colored raven, looking at me.

He screeched at me, his eyes flashing green, and flew out at me, his talon grabbing at my hair, ruffling it with a swoosh of his wings, and he seemed to smirk at me as he turned his head at me, cawing, and I gasped in both awe and confusion, "Pops?".

Pops screeched, and kept flying on as I realized that he wants me to follow him, and I grabbed my sword, my coat as I slept in my boots tonight, and ran out to follow him, still amazed that Pops chose to be a black and white raven for some reason yet it seemed to fit him well enough.

I followed him for a hour that it seemed to feel like when I encountered a remarkable building, reminding me of Elsa's ice castle and a Viking longhouse combined altogether, and the Northern Lights is glowing above it, bright and well, and just as I entered the courtyard, the Northern Lights came down, forming a shield just behind me, and the moving walls of the Northern Lights seemed to amp their volume, sounds of barking wolves, bleating reindeer, grunting bears, and who knows what else?

Pops flew down, and I saw a golden swirl around him, and I exhaled sharply in joy and shock when his human face appeared among his body, transparent indeed, but those green eyes, the blonde hair, a shimmer of tan skin...I would never forget Frederick Torrias, my dear Pops who saved me and Jason from a life on the streets a year later after we lost our parents when we were simply 7 years old.

He taught us so much, learning how to be compassionate and kind, giving us a place to live and eat again, and he was a Christian Priest, teaching us about God, but not pushing us to be like him which was really open-minded of him to do so. Pops were literally our father for so much of our lives, and he was so proud when he heard that we had signed up to the military, wanting to serve our country, and all that jazz.

I and Jason were heartbroken when we heard of his death while on duty, and we mourned for him, yet we knew that he's in a better place, and we had the feeling that he's been watching over us. I would never thought he would be here in Enchantia until right now.

Pops smiled warmly, "Hello, son.", opening his arms to me, and I sobbed lightly as I ran to him, hugging him. I knew I missed him so, but I didn't realize how much until I picked up those faint aromas that were part of Pops, the smell of candle wax, books, and wood polish.

I pulled back, taking the first very close look at Pops, and blinked softly, "You're a bit younger.". Pops chuckled lightly, "10 years younger. The Spirits helped out. Now, about that young woman, Jasmine.".

I blushed brightly, "Pops!". Pops laughed softly, "I don't blame you, son. She's a spirited spitfire, that's for sure, and as you clearly feel guilty of taking advantage of Jasmine in the fact that she was Aladdin's date, I just want you to know that Aladdin and Abu didn't survive the snowstorm on the other side of the world.".

I blinked in shock, "I had a feeling, but I presumed he'd fight to live as he's literally a survivor, living on the streets back in Agrabah.". Pops nodded, "I know, but not having the proper winter gear, and being in the middle of a snowstorm, well, I am only to say that they quickly passed on without pain, having went to sleep forever.".

Pops then smiled softly, "And you'd be surprised to hear that Aladdin spoke to me earlier this week when this place called to me, and he realized that he wants Jasmine to be happy, to move on with her life, and if her life involves you as her boyfriend, fiancé, and husband, well, I am happy to say that Aladdin gives his blessing.".

I exhaled slowly, "Really? You aren't pulling my leg?". Pops gently squeezed my shoulder, "You deserve someone to be at your side in your life, and Jasmine is a incredible woman. I approve of her, and I give my blessing as well, son. And oh, don't worry about your brother, Logan, I am sure Jason will find a woman on his own time, okay?".

I nodded softly with a smile, "Thanks, Pops. I love you.". Pops ruffled my hair fondly, "I love you, son. You will pass these tests, I know it.". I exhaled deeply, "Okay, I think I am ready.". Pops smiled widely, "Until we meet again.", leaning his forehead against my forehead gently, a familiar gesture that we used to do, and he then moved back to shift into his raven form, giving me a last wink during the process.

He screeched at me with a nod, and flew off through the shield which didn't do any harm, and I knew it's because he's a Spirit. I sighed to myself as I looked at the door ahead of me, "Let's do this.", nodding slightly, and walked on to the door that's all dark stone, laying a hand upon the indent that would hold a doorbell.

I yelped slightly in surprise as something poked me in the finger, drawing blood, and the door glowed with Nordic runes suddenly appearing out of nowhere, and then as if it was magic moving them over and under, transmogrifying them into readable words that looked sort of medieval in form.

This is the path to destiny and fate. All who see this must realize their true self here. May the spirits guide thee. I smiled softly at the last part, knowing that Pops is supporting me through this, and I breathed softly, saying the words out loud, and with a rumble, the door opened up, a thump echoing out into the building.

I took a deep breath, walked into the building, hearing the slight sound of wood underneath my boots when I heard the door close behind me, and it got dark for a moment, making me hold still before lights appeared, causing me to temporarily adjust my eyes. I then took the time to look, and I exhaled in surprise, seeing ice torches, containing glowing blue fire.

I chuckled softly, "Wow...Okay, magic is awesome. Jazz would love this!", looking a tad further on, seeing a arched wooden door with a red design of swirls, and I saw that this door is the only one in this room. As I took a step closer, the swirls shimmered, and then got brighter and brighter when I walked even more until stopping just before the door, the swirls glowing like fire from lanterns yet not obnoxiously bright like a bold set of Christmas lights.

I took a deep breath, "You got this, Logan.", and grabbed the doorknob, turned it, opening it up to a dark tunnel, and I nodded, walking into the tunnel, hearing the door close behind me, and the tunnel was dark for a moment before I can see a faint light on the other side of the tunnel, smiling slightly.

It felt like a few minutes before I reached the end, the light growing brighter, and I came out into a grassland, of sorts, with a empty river ravine nearby from what it looks like. I then saw trees and vines scattered over the grassland and the ravine, wondering what's gonna be in this test...

I looked up at the sound of a scream, and growls that sound like a mix of hissing snakes and screaming birds, and I ran immediately, hearing the scream again, recognizing that it's human. I looked over the ravine, and saw a woman, holding into a broken sword, and she's being chased by velociraptors, one of my greatest fears even if they didn't exist beyond Jurassic Park.

When I took a closer look at the woman, my blood went cold, and my heart beat faster as it's Jasmine! I screamed to her, "Jasmine!". Jasmine seemed to hear me yet she ran faster, screaming for her life, and dived into a narrow crevice of a boulder within the nearby bank of the ravine, the three raptors behind her, and my heart nearly dived down into my stomach when one of them went for her foot, but missed.

The raptors kept going at the crevice as Jasmine screamed, "Logan!", and hearing her scream my name, it steered me to think quickly, looking for a way to get rid of those terrifying raptors without having them kill her or me. I realized that this place knew of some of my greatest fears; those raptors and losing Jasmine by any means.

I knew I have my sword at my side, yet the raptors are a total of 3, and very scarily intelligent. I then saw a sandy area nearby, and after a quick look, I realized that it is quicksand. Swiftly, I made a plan, and to start it, I grabbed a rock, and threw it pitcher style at the head raptor, striking it on the snout. He fell momentarily, roaring out in surprised pain, shaking his head as to get rid of the stinging cut if that could help.

The other raptors chirruped, checking on their leader, seeming to communicating to ask if he's okay, and I shouted, "Hey, you turkeys, come get me! Or are you too scared?!". The head raptor heard me, seeming to focus on me, and hissed angrily, cawing loudly at the others, looking like he's ordering them to chase me.

Sure enough, the slightly smaller pair went after me, hissing and growling, running up the ravine almost flawlessly to a spot some distance from me, and I shouted, "Try to get me, boys!". I ran to the quicksand spot, glad to have a tree with vines over it, and pretended to trip and fall, looking back to see them getting closer and closer.

As I timed their speed, I suddenly got up, jumped as I grabbed a vine, hearing the snap of teeth barely behind, swinging across the quicksand sinkhole, hearing roars and growls as I looked back to see the the first one fully in, and the second one struggling to get its feet out.

I drew out my sword as I pushed back from the tree, swinging back to the raptors, kicking the first one's head with a distinct sound of teeth crackling, causing him to face plant into the quicksand, dooming him to death, and for the second one, I went for the neck, slicing with the sword as he struggled with his legs.

Landing successfully, I looked back to see the first one gone, bubbles forming, and the second one, dying from blood loss of the wound as I turned back to run, remembering that there's just one more, the biggest and meanest one, and it's threatening Jasmine in the ravine!

I saw the raptor still digging at the crevice with Jasmine in there, and I can see narrow cuts on the snout and face, realizing that even with the sword broken in half, Jasmine's still fighting back. But she's still in danger as the raptor is very determined to get her, but not when I am here!

I slid down the bank, landing on the ravine floor, flourishing with my sword as I shouted, "Hey, you forgot me! Your boys are dead! Come and get me!". The raptor looked up, whipping his head around, hearing my voice, and hissing angrily, he ran from the boulder crevice, leaving Jasmine unharmed and alive.

I stared him down as he slowed down, growling and hissing, recognizing that I had a sword in my hand, probably a 'long claw' in his perspective, dangerous in one's hand if used properly, thanks to having experience with Jasmine earlier, and he stepped closer as I circled around, stepping to the side, watching him carefully.

Then the raptor charged at me, causing me to move and narrowly dodge his claws that were aiming for me. In return, I hit the raptor, cutting it in the side with my sword, watching out from his swipes that was almost too close. I did more attempted strikes at the raptor, yet he was so fast, succeeding in cutting me a few times from his claws, both upper and lower from which he had jumped at me all at once.

Of course, I fought back, giving him a couple more cuts, and there was a few times that either he or I has dodged from more claw swipes or sword cuts. Suddenly out of nowhere, I saw him hit me in the side with the force of his tail, causing me to fly backwards, hitting the ridge wall, feeling the sword fall out of my hand.

Being knocked down by a raptor felt like a ramming log as I landed downwards of the wall, the dust faintly flying around me from the floor, my body aching/screaming out in pain, my head rattling as I tried to refocus, and then I saw him, rushing at me, with his fangs gleaming sharp, fully bared like he's going to kill me. Shit.
