Chapter Four
Juuban:
Mizuno Ami types away on her data computer as she tries once again to locate the missing hime. She still couldn't believe that Galaxia had intervened like that, plus, how had she known in the first place that the worthless, stupid hime was in danger to begin with. She was sitting at an outdoor café while doing this and nursing a cup of Darjeeling tea. Osaka Naru glares hatefully at her, she knew whom all the senshi were and had seen the tail end of the betrayal battle, hell she'd used her smart phone to tape it and then gave it to every major media outlet in Japan.
This had meant that the scouts couldn't just casually appear in public anymore. Pluto had been pissed when she found out that she had been outmaneuvered. It helped that Naru had been one of the Original Digidestines, the group that had been called before Tai's group. Her partner had come with her to her world, generally staying as a Hagurumon, the Ultimate level being Datamon. With Datamon's help Pluto and Mercury could do nothing about the news coverage, plus, Naru had her suspicions on where Usagi was, or rather what had happened, as all traces of Tsukino Usagi had been erased. Datamon was making sure that she wasn't found electronically by any of the senshi.
Naru was quite happy with the way she was quietly screwing up their plans. Datamon was quite happy to be messing with them too. The best friend of Tsukino Usagi sighs sadly but she was still determined to protect her friend even now.
Odaiba:
Matt was still cursing his little sister for actually making him join her for her morning jog while she got the first shower. Once she was out Matt rushes in to the bathroom to take a shower. Serena sighs and eats the eggs and toast Matt had ready for her before grabbing her lunch and school bag and heading out the door. As she jogs to school Matt curses again when he realizes she had left without him, though she did grab all three in-training digimon.
Serena heads for her class once she gets to school and rolls her shoulders, her morning jogs were going to kill her yet, but it did have the benefit of her getting to school ahead of time, Davis stumbles in five minutes later and Serena grins, " Decided to start the morning jog routine, huh? "
" Yeah, sounded like a good idea. " Davis admits, their digimon were hiding themselves now as they knew where they could hide.
" It does help and I even dragged Matt with me, oh, he's not going to like me for the next several months. " Serena says, her smile was positively malicious.
Davis smirks, he loved it when Serena's vindictive side came out to play, as it generally meant someone was about to be in pain, whether it was physically or emotionally it didn't matter. Few people knew that the dark part of him relished in the suffering of others but only those that truly deserved it. The digimon the Emperor was going after did not deserve that type of suffering, even the virus types deserved better than that. No Davis only liked watching the populars get their just desserts. It certainly served them right, all of them.
Serena smiles and then flashes through a series of signs, - What is the plan for today?-
- Barring a distress call I was thinking we'd just go on a tower destroying spree.-
Serena mulls that over, it did make sense as there were still two partner digimon in the Digital World. - Got it, now, you free to help me with my homework again?-
- For you, always. Besides, how many people do you know of that actually know how smart I am?-
Serena giggles at this, Davis was pulling the biggest con job of them all by acting like a dumb jock though if anyone were to stop and think they would realize that he at least had to be getting a high C average to maintain his position on the soccer team. - You know, not everyone would be able to pull off the act you are. I can't wait until you're named Valedictorian of our class.-
Davis grins, yeah, he was the number one ranked student in their grade, everyone just assumed it was the biggest nerd in their grade. He was also looking forward to that day, though first he had to upstage Ken Ichijouji in soccer. Part of the reason why he was starting to jog, he needed to get his speed and stamina up before the game with Tamachi, and he would. - Care to help me train for my upcoming game with Tamachi, I'm the one that will be going up against Ken.-
Serena smirks, - You sure you want me to help you?-
- Hell, yes I'm sure. I need to be able to make the Rocket work for his victory.-
Their conversation stops when their classmates start to come in. Serena would help him, as she also wanted Ichijouji to actually have some fierce competition. All the hype about him annoyed her greatly, someone needed to make him and the rest of the area realize he was in fact human. After school Davis and Serena are the first ones to the computer lab where they give their partners, along with the others a snack. Serena also snacked while they were waiting and she was the first to notice the distress signal, " One of the remaining partners just sent an s.o.s, I have already have the coordinates locked. " Serena says just as Kari and TK walk in followed shortly by Yolei and Cody, then Joe Kido runs in.
" I'm taking it that your partner sent the distress signal? " Davis asks.
" Yeah, he did. "
" Well, get ready to roll. Koromon, Tsunomon, stand guard okay, but don't cause trouble. Digi Port Open! " Davis calls out.
Serena and Renamon look around curiously and Serena has another memory flash, this time of her being Sailor Moon and standing before this giant woman in a blood red dress with teal hair before the memory fades. The blonde frowns internally at this, not sure if she really believed what her memories were telling her, but if they were true then something major had to have happened. She'd have to talk this over with Davis as he was the only one who wouldn't freak out on her. Serena pulls out her D-3 as Izzy had decided the new digivices were to be called as they had three functions digital, discover, and detect. " Digi Armor Energize! "
" Renamon armor digivolve to… Juéxīnmon, the determined warrior. "
Davis nods and the pair take off, " Where are they going? " Yolei asks.
" To deal with the spire. " Davis answers.
" This is no place for lone wolfing, we need to work as a team. " Yolei snaps.
" We are, the quicker the spire gets taken out the better off we'll be. We're going to be their back up. Serena knew what I wanted done without me saying anything and she set about doing it, Inoue-san. " Davis snaps, he'd had enough of her harping the previous two days.
TK blinks at this, " Wait, you're saying my big sis already knew what her part needed to be the instant she got here? "
" Of course, we play pick up soccer games in the park all the time, TJ, we're always on the same team and we never need to talk to know what needs to be done, that is the essence of true team work. Unless Inoue-san learns to watch her mouth, especially around Serena, then things will get rough for her. " Davis states as they start walking and Joe hands out hand warmers, Yolei has problems opening hers and when she drops it she find Gomamon.
" Joe, look. "
They all fall to their knees and dig the rookie out from his snowy prison just as the spire falls only to have the Emperor show up with three more slaves, his Dark Digivice keeping them enthralled, " Digi Armor Energize! " is the unanimous call.
" Hawkmon armor digivolve to… Halsemon, the wings of love. "
" Gatomon armor digivolve to… Nefertimon, the angel of light. "
" Armadillomon armor digivolve to… Digmon, the drill of power. "
" Patamon armor digivolve to… Pegasusmon, flying hope. "
" Veemon armor digivolve to… Flamedramon, the fires of courage. "
While the digimon deal with the controlled digimon Davis rushes the Emperor and tackles him. " Why don't you stop hiding behind your slaves and fight like a man. "
The Emperor throws him off only for Davis to flip in midair, land on his feet and send himself straight towards the Emperor again, this time nailing him with a left hook. The Emperor goes reeling backwards even as the others stare at Davis in shock. That was when MegaSeadramon reared his ugly head. Davis curses, Gomamon needed to digivolve, and he was determined to see that happen. Just then Serena slams into the Emperor and grapples with him for his digivice, her crest glowing vibrantly. " Gomamon digivolve to… Ikkakumon. Ikkakumon digivolve to… Zudomon. " Zudomon charges past the others to deal with MegaSeadramon.
" How was that even possible? " Joe asks.
Serena smirks, " With determination anything is possible, Gomamon was determined to help out, Davis was determined to make it so he could, and I'm determined to save this world. My crest is determination after all. "
" That won't save you, as I'm determined to conquer this world. "
" Which only powers my crest further, baka. " Serena retorts.
" Vulcan's Hammer. "
With that MegaSeadramon was defeated along with the rest of the minions. Serena knees the Emperor in the groin and goes to get Gomamon, her partner watching over the downed Emperor. Then they all hightail it, heading back to the computer lab. Joe takes his partner from Serena, " Thank you for that. "
" No problem, now other than Tentomon whom is our eyes and ears, there's only one other partner digimon left, right? " Serena asks.
" That's correct, Mimi's partner, Palmon. " Joe answers.
" Well then, we'll have to keep a look out for her since her partner is the one that moved to America, right? " Davis asks the child of Reliability.
" Yeah, that's true. " Joe admits as they all pack up, Serena grabbing Koromon and Tsunomon up with Viximon and placing them in her bag. Davis joining her with Demiveemon before they head out the door, they were going to the park where they could work on their homework and she could help him train. Both calling their respective families to notify them of this.
