Chapter Thirteen
Serena observes Kari out of the corner of her eye, something was going on with the girl and she didn't know what. It was like Darkness was wrapping itself around the unsuspecting eleven year old, - Dai, we have a problem, something's up with Kari. I only noticed because I was Sailor Moon, some not so nice form of Darkness is reaching out to her for some purpose and that's all I can get.-
- Damn, then this is something that Kari has to face on her own, huh?- Davis signs back to her.
- Everyone has a test they must face and this happens to be Kari's due to her absolute fear of Darkness. We'll have to keep TK busy, actually all of them busy somehow, but I doubt it will be easy.- Serena signs back.
Davis nods at this, Serena had a point, while Kari was being tested they would have to keep the others busy. How, they would have to work out, unless they decided to train the humans into the ground. Tai was busy with soccer practice so they didn't need to worry about him finding out until it was all over. Serena was hoping her association with Kari would have finally helped the girl find her spine.
Davis and Serena both noticed Kari fading in and out of their world, Serena keeps TK in his seat, and telepathically tells Viximon to get Gatomon to her partner now. Serena smiles later on when she can only barely sense the duo of Light. Good, Gatomon had gone with Kari. Hopefully that would get Kari through this test of hers. The rest of them head to the Digital World where Davis' eyes narrow, " You all are going to be training, as we cannot afford to have any of you falling behind. Do not even think about giving me any back talk, Inoue-san, you will not always be riding on your partner and therefore must be in good shape. We are in a war! "
With that said Davis and Serena put them through the ringer, refusing to allow human or partner digimon to slack off. This was something that needed to happen, as the Digital World was their front to deal with. Yolei glares venomously at the goggle-headed boy, wanting dearly to unleash the vitriol she was feeling but she dare not. Serena would smack her down hard, and Davis was starting to come down on her hard as well. Davis had said numerous times that this wasn't a game, they were in a war and she needed to shape up. Even Mimi had told her that she needed to shape up.
Tai had already threatened to take her D3 once, and she was sure that Davis would do the same if she acted too insubordinate. Davis was their leader and she just had to accept that if she wanted to do her part and save the Digital World. Davis watches over them all and then blinks when Serena straightens, her eyes roving all around, Renamon was acting the same way, which meant that something was off in the area but they couldn't figure out what. That couldn't be good. Serena motions for her partner to go off and scout the surrounding area, they couldn't afford to be caught off guard right now.
" Power Paw! "
Serena curses when her partner comes sailing back into view. This was so not good. The reincarnated Moon Princess whips around and launches herself at their new foe even while choosing the Digi Egg she was going to use on Renamon. Good thing she was used to doing stuff like this on the move, otherwise they'd really be screwed. " Digi armor… Energize! "
" Renamon armor digivolve to… Amiciziamon, the defender of friendship. "
Serena smirks, " Hey, ugly, come and get me, unless of course you're afraid that I'll kick your ass. "
The Gorillamon roars and goes after her. Serena immediately falls back on her dodging expertise, weaving around and through all of Gorillamon's attacks, keeping his attention on her so Amiciziamon would have an easier time taking him down, as he was wearing a dark ring, unless TK could aim his digivice towards the ring it would have to be done this way. Part of her keeps an eye on the strength and vitality of Kari and Gatomon's signals, that way she could intervene if necessary.
Davis quietly armor digivolves Veemon into Raidramon, as he had a long distance attack, several in fact. That meant Raidramon would be an excellent digimon for sniping an enemy. Serena trips and immediately turns a backhand spring, knowing she had to keep moving. TK's jaw has dropped open, he could now fully believe his older sister had been a Sailor Senshi previously, they had been known for getting out of tight spots, and that was especially true of Sailor Moon.
Real World, Juuban District, Minato Ward, Tokyo:
Aino Minako curses under her breath, Osaka Naru was going to make things hard on them, but the damned hime had protected her and Motoki from magical attacks, same with Haruna Patricia as well. Minako and the others were banned from even setting foot in the Crown Game Center and Fruit Parlor now. Apparently those closest to Usagi had figured out her secret and had never said anything to her. That meant they had also figured out the identities of the other senshi as well.
Then there was the fact that Setsuna had to go and get herself into trouble and Ami couldn't even do anything about it, which was quite worrisome, it meant there was someone even more tech savvy than Mercury on the hime's side. All in all, it was about time for her to call a meeting of the senshi, they had to find where Galaxia had hidden the bitch, of course the bitch had to suffuse her power through several areas making it harder to tell where the hime was hidden. Why would Galaxia even protect that bitch?
Kou Yaten smirks as he tails the Venusian Princess subtly. Galaxia had called them in on behalf of Usagi, as they were now a part of her senshi. Needless to say, convincing Seiya to not kill them on sight wasn't easy. They needed to gather information on their foe, learn their habits and then slowly make them paranoid. They had all been shocked at the amount of information that Naru had at her fingertips. She hadn't told them how she'd gotten it and they hadn't asked her either, they were just glad to have it. To think that shortly after they had left Usagi had been betrayed, that was just heartbreaking.
He personally had felt the deaths of Jupiter and Saturn, but he also knew that they hadn't been reborn which meant Usagi had their star seeds safe in hers.
Digital World:
Serena curses quite loud and creatively when an attack connects, sending her sailing into a conveniently placed boulder, " Electric Blade! "
Amiciziamon goes straight to her partner and the twelve year old moans before getting up and glaring at her attacker, though he was free of the Black Ring now, but that still irked her that she had gotten thrown into a damn boulder. Davis makes his way over to her as Gorillamon takes the hint and skedaddles out of their like the hounds of Hades themselves were after him. Smart move on his part as Serena was not someone you wanted to trifle with in any way.
Yolei snorts, obviously the girl was suicidal if she continually fought digimon on her own. Why would anyone sane do that? She suddenly blanches when she spies Davis glaring at her, " Any thoughts you wish to share with the rest of us, Inoue-san? "
" Yeah, there are, actually. I honestly don't know why or how Serena was picked to be a digidestined when she clearly has a death wish! Why else would she continually fight the digimon opponents herself! " Yolei shrieks it.
Serena's eyes flash, making them look midnight blue in her fury, " Inoue-san, let me make one thing perfectly clear, I have been slammed into and through buildings, been blasted by various magical attacks, continually late to school due to the fact that I would be up almost all night fighting youma, and you dare to say I have a death wish. I never wanted to be Sailor Moon, I just wanted to be a normal teen! No, that can't be because a talking black cat with a yellow upturned crescent moon on her forehead by the name of Luna tells me I'm the sailor senshi of the moon and that I'm destined to fight the Negaverse and conveniently forgets to tell me that after I transform for the first time I'm screwed and there's no fucking turning back!
Do yourself a favor, little girl, and don't try my patience. I should be nineteen, in college and thinking about starting a family, but because I became Sailor Moon I nearly died for the fourth time in this damn lifetime, only the intervention of Sailor Galaxia saved me and she gave me an opportunity to have the childhood and teen years I didn't get to experience before! So shut up about things you know nothing about. When we get out of here your D3 will be coming with me and staying in my subspace pocket where you won't be able to steal it back from me! "
" I agree with what she said, you were warned, Inoue-san. " Davis says, a tone of finality coming from him, lined with steel.
Yolei pales, she hadn't thought they would actually follow through with the threat but they were going to and that meant that she wouldn't be going to the Digital World again anytime in the near future.
Real World:
Matt takes one look at his furious younger sister when she returns home and gulps, " All right, what happened? "
As luck would have it Tai was also over, working on another partner project, or just avoiding his mother's cooking, one never could tell with Tai. " Yeah, what happened and why wasn't Kari with you guys? "
Serena sighs, " Kari had a test she had to see through so the rest of us were training in the Digital World when Inoue had to open up her fat mouth and now she's suspended, her D3 is now in my subspace pocket until further notice. "
Tai and Matt both gain hard looks, " We'll ask Cody for the play by play, as he'll be unbiased and will tell it like it really happened. " Tai decides, " Matt, call a meeting for every digidestined for tomorrow, we need to have a chat, I'd like Mimi and that Michael guy here as well, as he has been helping us take down the towers. Kari and I will go in after dinner and our parents are asleep in order to take out more of the damn things. Can't let Ken put them up unchecked. "
" I'll make sure the word gets out. Inoue-san needs to be dealt with before this goes too much longer, hell, Digiworld might just choose someone else for the Digi Egg of Sincerity, or it might just go to Mimi instead of Yolei. I could easily see that happening as Inoue-san isn't sincere with herself, that was Mimi's biggest problem. I thought we had already dealt with the Inoue-san problem though. " Matt says.
" Matt-nii, sometimes you have to literally beat a lesson into someone's head. Tai-nii told me about your stupidity in the Digital World. " Serena points out.
Matt groans at this, okay, so he shouldn't have let Cherrymon trick him like that and he definitely shouldn't have allowed himself to pick that fight with Tai and Agumon, not to mention his stubborn stupidity nearly got Tai killed; along with the rest of them, as Matt could admit it now, Tai was the only one that could have led them to victory, he had the right brand of crazy going for him. Matt was around to keep him from doing anything entirely too crazy, Matt's purpose was to keep goggle-head number one grounded while Serena did the same for goggle-head number two.

Author's Note: If you couldn't tell Kari was in Dark Ocean while the others went training and this time she had to save herself, not act like an idiotic damsel in distress and rely on someone else to come and save her like what happened originally.
