Chapter Fourteen

Ishida Apartment:

Once everyone had gathered for the meeting Tai clears his throat, " I called this meeting to discuss something very important. First off, I'd like Kari to tell us about what she did yesterday and then Cody will be giving us a report on what the others did yesterday. "

Kari quickly takes the floor and goes through a detailed account of what she and Gatomon had gone through the previous day. " You know, " Sora says thoughtfully, " Doesn't that sound like that dark cave we both ended up caught in, Matt, only on a much grander scale. "

" You're right, it does and they wanted Kari to be her queen? " Matt muses.

" Okay, we can go over this later, the more important issue is coming up and you know it, Matt, " Tai says, " Cody, your turn and don't mince your words. "

" Well, it all started after school yesterday, Davis and Serena took myself, Upamon, TK, Patamon, Yolei, and Poromon into the Digital World for some training. They trained us into the ground, because as Davis pointed out we were the ones that were to handle the Digital World front while you older kids handle our world, he also reminded us that we are in a war and he didn't want any of us to fall behind. Everything was going good until a Gorillamon attacked us, well, more like Renamon went scouting and found him, he had a black ring on him. Serena used the Friendship Digi Egg to evolve her partner to Amiciziamon and distracted the enemy. Davis also evolved Veemon to Raidramon for long distance attacks. Gorillamon got a lucky shot in on Serena and sent her crashing into a boulder, while her partner checked on her Raidramon destroyed the ring.

Serena sent a nasty glare towards Gorillamon and he decided to hightail it before Serena went after him, whether he was in his right mind or not. Then Davis noticed a nasty look on Yolei's face and asked if she had anything to share. She basically said Serena had a death wish which is why she took the fight to opponent digimon and she said she had no idea how or why the Digital World chose her as a Digidestined. Serena then proceeded to unload on her, I have a feeling it's something she's wanted to say for a while and Yolei was the unlucky recipient. "

" I still stand by the fact that she must have a death wish to do half of what she does. " Yolei states.

" That attitude right there is what has gotten your D3 taken from you, Inoue-san. " Tai tells her.

" How the hell did you inherit the Crest of Love from me? There is no way in hell I would ever say anything like that when it is unwarranted. Especially considering without her none of us would even be here. Think about what happened three years ago in the skies above Juuban, you petulant little child. " Sora says, her brown eyes hard and unforgiving.

Yolei snorts, " Am I the only one here whom realizes that Serena is a blight upon the Digidestined? "

A resounding slap could be heard as Mimi had moved before anyone had noticed and slapped the younger girl across the face, " Inoue-san, you quite frankly need to grow up. You have not faced any kind of adversity, us older kids we had to stay in the Digital World for practically all of the fight. We only had to come back home to find Kari. How long would you last living in the Digital World for what seemed like years but hardly any time had passed here in our world? "

" Mimi… "

" That is Tachikawa-sempai to you, Inoue-san. " Mimi corrects her immediately, her brown eyes showing that she was not going to let Yolei wriggle her way out of trouble. That behavior may fly in her home but it would not within the ranks of the Digidestined.

" Tachikawa-sempai, I don't deny that you all faced hardships, but you all are making entirely too many allowances for Ishida-chan. " Yolei says.

Serena makes to lunge for her while Davis and TK hold her back, " I took that crap from Hino Rei, I will not take verbal abuse from you yet too, Inoue-san. I can and will put you in your damn place and if it involves breaking your fucking nose then I will do so. You've gotten away with entirely too damn much shit over the course of your life. If your parents won't correct your behavior then I will take steps to do so myself! "

" Like you can, Ishida! "

Serena smiles ferally, " I have connections, Inoue-san, or have you forgotten that. I can put in a call to Kakyu-hime and have you working as a part of her palace staff until this behavior is corrected. "

" How would you explain my disappearance? "

" Scholarship opportunity abroad, and you'll be incommunicado for the duration. Make no mistake, you would in fact be educated as well. " Serena snarls it, she had never dealt with anyone that pushed her buttons like this since Hino-san. The princess in her was ready to slap the little girl silly, because in terms of experience Yolei was way younger than she was. Serenity V was infuriated with the little bitch that seemed to think that she knew all.

" Let's keep that option open to us, " Izzy suggests, the Child of Knowledge could see how much TK and Davis were straining to hold Serena back and realized the girl must be tapping into her senshi strength. Yolei must have really pushed her buttons to elicit this kind of response from the twelve year old blonde.

Joe was eying the female population of the room and realized that nearly all of them were looking like they wanted to beat Yolei to within an inch of her life. The Child of Reliability speaks up next, " The point is, Inoue-san, that none of them can trust you to watch their backs if you treat a member of your team like this. Which is why your D3 has been taken from you until such a time as they can trust you. "

Yolei's mouth works but no sound comes out. She couldn't say anything to that logic, even if she wanted to. Joe was right, if she was like this with a team member, the second in command no less, then the others wouldn't be able to trust her. Yolei knew then that she had a lot of soul searching to do when Joe's comment reached through to her and nothing else anyone else had said did, not even Mimi slapping her. She would take her banning from Digiworld and hope that she could prove she was trustworthy soon.

" Well, Joe, I think you got through to her, though the girls still look like they want to kill her. " Tai says.

" Can you blame us? " Sora asks him, her eyes were still blazing.

" No, I can't because you all have some level of bonding with each other, though Mimi is more like an older sister to Serena, which is why she went after Inoue-san like she did. " Tai admits.

" I knew my little sister could handle herself or that Mimi would step up to the plate and knock it out of the park. " Matt admits.

Tai smirks, " Baseball metaphor, Matt, I'm proud of you. Didn't know you followed sports, or even knew that much about baseball. "

Matt rolls his eyes, " Moving on, what's the next move against the Emperor? We all know that things have to be mixed up so he can't predict a pattern. "

Davis grins, " I know, which is why all you originals will be going in with only TK, us new kids along with Kari will be the backup system this next time. "

" Simple but sweet, I like it. " Tai says.
