Chapter 21

Serena groans as she looks at Matt, " Which one of you older kids had the insane idea to get up this fucking early on a non-school day? "

Matt winces, " We all decided this collectively. This was the day we beat Myotismon. "

Serena just flips him off as she stumbles around collecting her stuff and then stumbles in the direction of the bathroom. She hated mornings and she had actually given herself the day off from jogging. Oh, someone was going to pay for this by the time she was done.

Motomiya Apartment/Digiworld/Ishida Apartment:

Davis slips into his apartment, no one got up this early and quickly takes care of his morning business before nipping back into Digiworld. He really did not want to have to deal with Jun any time soon. The good news was that he was getting the basics of his powers down and could soon move on to the harder stuff. Matt is startled when Davis and Demiveemon emerge from the Ishida home computer, " What are you doing here? "

" My family aren't early risers and I don't want to have to deal with Jun today. "

Serena trips coming out of the bathroom and the blonde unleashes her vast knowledge of swearing. Davis grins, " Ren, is that the kind of mouth a princess should have? "

He laughs at her response to him, " What did she say? " Matt asks.

" Oh, I think that one's universal, the sentiment at any rate. " Davis says.

" All right, true, the sentiment is universal. " Matt admits.

Big Sight:

Davis sighs as he and Serena stand outside of the Big Sight convention center, that was where Myotismon had held all the children and adults while searching high and low for Kari, the eighth child. That was where he had intersected with Digimon and the Digital World. Serena still had no clue as to where and when the intersection had taken place for her. " What was it like, being held captive like that? " Serena asks him.

" We were all terrified because we didn't know what was going on, now I do, Myotismon was looking for Kari because she was the eighth child that had the capability to end him. He already had Gatomon from what we've learned from Tai, mostly. None of the others talk to us about this stuff. " Davis admits.

" I know, it would be nice to hear everything from them one of these days, as it could be the key…Myotismon was defeated in our world, right? " Serena asks.

" Yeah, why? "

" I think I may know whom the ultimate puppet master is, Dai. His data couldn't be reconfigured, it just sat there. I think he was able to make a comeback somehow. " Serena says.

Davis' eyes widen, " You think we're dealing with Myotismon again? Is that even…then again you do raise a good point, he could have made another comeback. "

The duos of Miracles and Determination race off to find Tai, out of all the older kids he would be the one to listen to their theory. Tai looks startled to see them come running up to him and Kari, " Tai, we think we know whose behind all this, whom is pulling Ken's strings. " Davis manages to get out, he still wasn't up to Serena's caliber as a runner yet, he could keep pace with her but being able to breathe in anything other than pants hadn't quite been achieved just yet.

" Who? " Tai asks seriously.

" Myotismon. Think about it, Serena pointed out that his data had never been reconfigured, what if he pulled himself back together. " Davis says.

Gatomon's eyes widen at this, " I should have known, this all has his earmark on it after all. "

" You sure, Gatomon? " Tai asks.

" They're right, he could have pulled himself back together and managed to get into another dimension all together. " Gatomon says softly.

" Great, now we know whom the puppet master most likely is, all we have to do is find him and get rid of him permanently. " Tai says.

" Yeah, but therein lies the problem. How the hell do we find him? " Serena retorts.

" Well, it can be another project for Izzy, hell, maybe Gennai will actually help with this. " Tai says as they all make their way to the television station. Hiroaki had told his children and Davis about what seemed to be a ghost showing up on all the equipment.

Later they were all puzzling over Wizardmon's words to Gatomon. Kindness and Determination will unleash the Golden Radiance. Serena's eyes narrow as her brain starts connecting all the clues, " Ken is the Child of Kindness. Fantastic, someone corrupted the Chosen Child of Kindness. Not sure if we can blame Myotismon for the corruption or if he just took advantage of what was already there. " Serena says.

" Great, it was hard enough getting rid of him the first two times. " Joe says, they had all reconvened back at the Izumi apartment.

" I'll contact Gennai and let him know about this theory. If Myotismon is still alive then we need to find him fast. Plus, we somehow need to get Ken back on our side. " Izzy says, Michael and Sam had been brought over by Mimi for the meeting. They'd been briefed on the situation as it stood and the previous troubles with Myotismon.

Michael rubs his temples, " We'll have to work under the assumption that he is still around and start planning accordingly. "

" Michael's right, if we don't then the bastard could catch us off guard. " Tai admits.

Inoue Home:

Yolei sighs as she takes care of Poromon, she was thinking back over all of her previous behavior and she had to admit, she had acted like a spoiled brat. Davis and Serena had both been in the right taking her to task like they had. It hurt knowing that until she got her act together and could actually be trusted to watch Serena's back in a fight that she couldn't go back to Digiworld. Her D-Terminal had also been confiscated at the same time as her D3.

None of them talked to her at school, TK and Cody still walked to school with her, but that was about it. She couldn't even whine about it because she had brought it upon herself.
