Chapter 24
Digiworld:

Kari, Matt, and Mimi all smirk as they watch their partner's raise a ruckus, all three of them were glowing with their respective crest colors. Serena's discovery of the crest powers overriding the anti-digivolution wave had come at a good time.
Ken snarls as he rides on the back of a Airdramon to the disturbance site. Once Davis, TK, and Serena saw him leave they enter the base and Serena was quick to locate the control room and take out the security cameras by putting them on a loop. Then they find the engine room and set out, well, TK and Davis set out with their partners while Serena and Renamon stay in the control room to keep it under their control.
Camp Grounds:
Tai, Izzy, and Jeri share a look, Cody was catching a quick nap with Upamon, " Tell me about your previous adventures, we've got time to kill. " Jeri says.
Tai shrugs and begins to tell her about the time it snowed at summer camp four years ago, marking the start of his Digital World adventures. Tai mostly told her his stories since the others had yet to tell their stories to the new kids, which wasn't quite fair. He also knew why Davis and Serena had chosen to tell him their theory. It was sad to say that he was the only one that would have taken them seriously. Davis and Serena actually listened to everyone's opinions. Tai was in the middle of the battle with Etemon after saving Sora when Joe and Gomamon arrived. Izzy had been sending the others updates about what was going on. Sora was holding the fort in Odaiba, if there was trouble they could get her back up easily enough.
Joe joins in with Tai's story giving Jeri his perspective as well. Jeri just sits back and listens, making all the appropriate noises during the stories. Mr. Ishida tuned in when Tai reached the battle with Piedmon and how he had nearly died because of Matt's mini meltdown. Tai had told them about the lead up to that as well, Izzy and Joe had never heard about it from Tai's perspective. The elder goggle head was much more mature back then than they had realized. He'd only fought with Matt because the blonde had given him no choice and he'd still had faith that Matt would come through for him in the end against Piedmon yet it had come down to TK, Patamon, and Kari in the end. If not for MagnaAngemon then they all would have remained as keychains thanks to Piedmon's Clown Trick attack.
" Mind you this is all from my perspective, you'll have to ask Matt for his later on, what he was thinking and feeling at the time. " Tai says.
" We really should be telling the newer kids all of this. " Izzy says.
" I do, it's the rest of you that keep your mouths shut. When Davis and Serena ask I tell them. They need to know so they don't make the same mistakes, it's why I tell them the things you guys won't though I am glad Mimi received the egg of Sincerity instead of Yolei. At least you got through to her, Joe. " Tai states.
" I find it highly disturbing that she would only listen to Joe when not even a slap from Mimi could get through to her. " Izzy muses.
" Then there's the fact that Serena threatened to send her off to a different planet in a different galaxy just to teach her a lesson. " Tai says.
" Hopefully that's not needed. " Joe mutters, " Sure, Yolei needs a severe attitude adjustment but, shipping her off out of the galaxy to do it? "
" That's Reni for you. " Tai says and then freezes, " Well, son of a bitch, there's my connection to the Silver Millennium. "
Jeri blinks, " I don't remember you. "
" I'm not surprised, you do know Heero, right? "
" Yeah, so? " Jeri asks Tai.
" He's my twin, while Heero was more active in the Lunar Queendom I was more active in the Solar Kingdom, I was my Uncle Helios IV's heir, Prince of the Solar Kingdom. Only Reni made the time to come see me and she often brought Damacles with her once she met him. After that he opened up talks with the Sun on the sly. " Tai admits.
" That explains your crest though. " Izzy says.
" Huh, you're right, the Crest of Courage does look like a sun, doesn't it? " Tai muses out loud.
Odaiba:
Sora rolls her shoulders after helping her mother in the flower shop, thankfully she was able to keep Yokomon hidden relatively easily. If not things would have turned out a lot worse than they could have. Her mother, while grateful to Biyomon for helping them get closer to each other was in the camp that children should not deal with problems like what happened to be going on currently. It was why only Matt's dad and Izzy's parents were in the loop, they knew better than to assume that their children couldn't handle it, that they wouldn't have been called on if they couldn't handle it.
Digiworld, Ken's Base:
Davis freezes as he walks up to the black power source of the base, his eyes widening as he can feel something calling out to him. At the same time Serena gets sent sailing by an enraged Ken via means Ogremon. Serena's digivice comes to life whining and squealing, even as a beam of rainbow colored light shoots downwards, engulfing her partner, " Renamon digivolve to…Youkomon! Hey, Ogremon, pick on someone your own level. Jaenryu! "
Serena gets back up, " It's over, Ken, realize the truth. "
That was when a Phantomon sneaks up on her and slices her back up good. It would have been worse if she hadn't sensed the danger at the last moment. Her crest bursts in to color, glowing vibrantly even as Youkomon deals with the Ogremon and turns her attention to Phantomon.
Wormmon speaks to the two boys he had followed, " Take that thing away, please. Ken only got worse after he touched it. I just want the sweet boy I know is still in there deep inside back. " Wormmon says.
Youkomon has just finished dealing with Phantomon when she hears her partner scream out in agony. Ken had unleashed his ultimate creation, Kimeramon. Serena had been hit by Kimeramon's Heat Viper attack from all directions. Her digivice starts to vibrate and whines faster, " Youkomon digivolve to…Doumon(AN: Doumon is essentially a gray version of Taomon in looks)! Hey, big boy, leave her alone and deal with me. "
" Death Claw! "
" Jugonsatsu! " This attack wreathes talismans around an opponent's body and then detonates them.
Serena moans as she gets to her knees, " Don't you see it yet, Ken! "
In the engine room Davis approaches the black thing and to his surprise it turns golden with what looked like a crest upon it, a stylized capital em with two triangles at the bottom of the first and last lines of the em and a small diamond in the center at the top and an elongated diamond in the center at the bottom. It pulls off from the digi egg and floats upwards before flying to Davis and TK watches as a tag is created for the crest. Davis smirks, " Miracles, how I've missed thee. " He grabs the tag and crest, placing them around his neck while also grabbing the golden digi egg.
By that time Matt, Mimi, and Kari have reached Serena. Matt races to his little sister, suddenly and perfectly understanding why Tai was so protective of Kari in the Digital World. Lilymon tries her flower wreath trick only it doesn't work on Kimeramon, " Celestial Arrow! "
" Wolf Claw! "
" Vicious Vine! " Lilymon adds in.
Matt scoops his little sister up and they get out of the way of the battlefield. Davis, TK, Wormmon, Veemon, and Patamon all look stunned at the sight before them, " What happened? " Davis practically growls this question out, Damacles was close to the surface.
Serena rolls her eyes, " Chill, Damacles, Kimeramon caught me off guard and I got hit by his Heat Viper attack. That attack fucking hurts too. Good news is Renamon has her Champion and Ultimate forms now. "
Davis groans, " You are entirely too much like Tai for your own good, Serenity. "
Serena just sticks her tongue out at him and the burgundy haired twelve year old sighs at this, " Hey, Veemon, why don't we give this new digi egg a whirl, though TD, get your digivolve on. "
TK lets his crest power fill him up and explode outwards, " Patamon digivolve to…Angemon. Angemon digivolve to…MagnaAngemon! "
The ultimate level digimon flies into battle, wielding his sword, " Excalibur! "
Davis watches the battle between the digimon and Kimeramon for a while and smirks, he'd found the weakness, " Veemon, did you see the weakness too? "
" You bet I did, Davish. " Veemon says.
" Let's do this. Golden Armor Energize! "
" Veemon Golden Armor Digivolve to…Magnamon! "
" Magna Blast! "
" Soul Vanisher! " MagnaAngemon adds his attack to Magnamon's.
Lilymon and Angewomon were already charged up, " Heaven's Charm! "
" Temptation! " Lilymon adds.
" Wolf Claw! "
" Jugonsatsu! "
WereGarurumon and Doumon immediately follow those attacks up. Ken's hands are clenched into fists. Myotismon would have said something to his kept Digidestined but, he was still too close to the edge for him to risk it. Matt's eyes narrow, " WereGarurumon, buy time. "
Kari immediately understands and the pink aura around her intensifies, " Angewomon digivolve to…Ophanimon! "
" Sefirot Crystals. "
WereGarurumon takes the opportunity to revert to Gabumon and Matt's digivice starts to vibrate and whine while glowing blue and silver, " Gabumon warp digivolve to…MetalGarurumon! Gale Cross Freezer! "
The Mega level attacks slam into Kimeramon and he slams into the wall behind him. Davis was glowing gold, he had just recently relearned how to harness Miracles, mostly thanks to Damacles and Serena. Lilymon takes a major hit for Doumon, " Lilymon, no! " Mimi calls out.
The light green glow around Mimi intensifies and the rainbow colored lights descend to surround Lilymon, " Lilymon digivolve to…Rosemon! Forbidden Temptation. "
" Nice, you unlocked Mega, Mimi. "
Ken snarls angrily at this and orders Kimeramon to destroy them. Only Serena saw where Kimeramon's attack was heading and before anyone knew it she was in front of Davis, taking the attack for him. Brown eyes widen in horror even as his arms wrap around her, keeping her on her feet, " Ren. " That one word held so much emotion in it.
Matt and TK stare at their sister, somehow she was still conscious but only just. " Terra Force! "
Everyone looks startled at the arrival of WarGreymon. Tai had felt his little sister from Silver Millennium times get injured and had Joe open the port for him, of course that had been Phantomon's attack on her. When he had arrived it looked like the others had things under control, then Serena had shielded Davis. Tai's fury had erupted and Agumon warp digivolved. The elder goggle head steps into view and Kari was reminded of when he had entered the battle with Myotismon at the TV station, " Hey, Kimeramon, you just messed with the wrong guy's reincarnated little sister. "
Kari's eyes widen at this, Tai had been the Solar Prince. Matt winces, shit just got very real now. No one got in protective big brother Tai's way. Tai makes his way over to Davis and Serena, glowing a vibrant orange, the color of his crest with a little silver wisping its way through the orange aura. Tai had fully awakened as the Solar Prince and if those senshi thought for one second he was going to allow them anywhere near his little sister they had better think again.
Tai allows his aura to surround Serena and everyone watches as the wounds just melt away. Serena's focus turns to Tai, " No wonder I trusted you so easily, you had always been there for me, even when I didn't remember what had happened I knew you could be trusted. "
" I knew you were my little sister, I just didn't realize how true that was until very recently. Davis, keep her safe. "
Even Davis knew better than to get in Prince Taiden of the Sun's way when he was like this. Kimeramon was in for a rough time of it, an orange orb forms in Tai's hands and he lets it drop before expertly dribbling it, setting up for a good shot. When the moment comes he kicks it up into the air, leaps up after it, and slams into it with an aerial spin kick. Kimeramon goes reeling from that attack and Tai smirks. This was a smirk that only those that had known Prince Heero Refuge Haven D'Luna well would have recognized. The I'll-Destroy-You-and-Have-Fun-While-Doing-it smirk.
Prince Taiden Rainart Dolan D'Luna had been more laid back than his twin but, he was just as ruthless and bloodthirsty when it came to the safety of his little sister Reni, the only one allowed to call her by that particular nick name as well. Prince Taiden was also the only other one whom would get into blistering rows with their mother. Serenity the IV couldn't do anything due to the fact that Taiden happened to be the Solar heir and she knew the people would revolt if she caused trouble with the Solar Kingdom. Not to mention the fact her brother would kill her. Tai was fifth in line for the throne after Serena, Sedation, Kari, and Heero though odds were good Heero would have gotten the throne back then as Serena had never wanted it and grandma Sera's crystal had chosen both Heero and Serena.
" Metal Wolf Claw! "
" Magna Punch! "
" Soul Vanishing! "
" Eden's Javelin! "
" Jugonsatsu! "
" Thorn Whipping! "
" Terra Force! "
" Solar Storm! " Tai adds in on the attacks. Solar Storm can best be described as something similar to Aldamon's Solar Wind Destroyer mixed with WarGreymon's Terra Force.
Kimeramon is barely standing by this time and Magnamon is looking tired. Davis curses this, Veemon wasn't used to the Power of Miracles yet, this was a new evolution for him after all. Kimeramon turns on Ken and Wormmon intervenes, saving his partner, starting the process of returning Ken to the Child of Kindness rather than the Digimon Emperor. Wormmon gives the last of his power to Magnamon so Kimeramon can be destroyed. The digimon and digidestined rally together as one of their own had fallen to save them, same as Angemon did to defeat Devimon. They pool their power together and feed it to Magnamon and WarGreymon as Tai had a huge stake in taking down Kimeramon.
" Magna Blaster! "
" Great Tornado! "
The two attacks finally end Kimeramon and Ken starts to have a meltdown. The base had virtually been destroyed by the battle and Davis spies something in the sand. He walks over to it and smiles, " Kindness and Determination unleash the golden radiance. "
After finally getting through to the Child of Kindness and then leading him to Primary Village to retrieve his partner, Tai and Davis doing some fast explaining to the baby digimon, telling them that Ken had been controlled when he did all that stuff, they head back to the Campground. Matt took Ken in hand as he had more experience with what Ken was going through. The whole Cherrymon incident coming immediately to his mind and TK was waiting to talk to him about Wormmon's sacrifice as well.
