(Jason's P.O.V.) -On the morning of the attack-
I frowned lightly as I saw a few orcs filling out into the courtyard as I took my position on one of the battlement towers, having killed the few guards that dared to fire arrows at me, but luckily, one of my silencer pistols took quick care of them.
I exhaled deeply and slowly as I aimed my handy rifle at one of the farthest orcs, "May my aim be true.", and then fired, not losing another second as I took another aim at the next orc, knowing that the ones who are large, they're more slower to fall.
For once, I am proud of my sniper skills for orcs aren't human or innocent yet it was worse to be a sniper in the army as there was huge chaos back in Iraq and such, messing up shit, and the top orders being used 'for the greater good'...
I nodded slightly in satisfaction when I saw the last orc fall over, and I then gave a loud bird's call as I continued on, jumping off the tower platform, and landing on the wall-walk as I saw more guards incoming at me, yelling with swords or crossbows in hand, but I distinctly heard familiar sounds of bombs and dragon roars a moment later.
I smirked wryly as I saw some of their faces becoming horrified, "You're so in for it, boys! Rather wanna take on the dragons, or take shots at me?", and they glanced momentarily at each other before charging on at me, and I twirled my pistol in one hand while pulling out a short sword in my other hand, "Smart choice, for a bunch of lunkheads like ya. Let's dance.".
It seemed like perhaps a hour, but it was more like 20 minutes when I made my way down to the courtyard next to the castle, leaving a trail of deceased guards, and now facing an army of sentient crocodiles. It became both exhilarating yet exhausting by the time I and the team came into the castle, our clothes dirty and ragged with gory blood and snot.
I went with Haku, Jim, and Eilonwy up top through the hallways while the others went below to the dungeons. It was sad that this used to be Snow's home, but it is necessary to deploy traps and grenades to stop anyone who's shooting at us, especially with our recent pistols and rifles now used as rudimentary clubs, the ammo from our belts depleted at the moment.
It will be quite some time for this kingdom which is called Auglire Castle to get back to the glory of Snow's father's reign, that's for sure, once we get rid of Medusa somehow, one way or another. From what I could remember, she's pretty vain, somewhat manipulative, but she's not dangerous per sec, especially with no rifle or swamp mobile.
Haku held up a hand, and I blinked once I heard a distant voice, nodding with a gesture to Haku to keep the teens back as I slowly tiptoed my way to hear closer, and I exhaled slowly as I heard cackles and snickers, the voice becoming vaguely familiar.
I carefully peeked around the corner, seeing a portly, squat man in the open door of a room, a room that held numerous mounds of gold and sparkly things like jewels, pearls, etc., and when I saw the man turning around, distracted by the gold in his hands, I recognized him almost immediately. It is Melvin Snoops, Medusa's gold-obsessed, bumbling minion.
I backed off, and I remembered that he always get off balance if fireworks or gunshots gets flying around him, but I don't want to destroy the invaluable room in case, realizing that Snoops must have been burglarizing the houses everywhere the orcs and the crocodiles came upon, and perhaps setting off fireworks in rooms, burning several houses in the process.
I then glanced at Haku, and smirked lightly with some gestures to bring out one of the inventions that Eilonwy came up with Jim's help, and Haku nodded as he fumbled quietly with the pack, grinning brightly as he grabbed it, bringing out a crude forked tree branch slingshot, along with military-grade nylon latex from a worn out bag, and dented bullets. No wonder how Jim is so ingenious in inventing, and even with one hand, he's determined.
I grabbed the slingshot, and held up a finger to my lips for them to keep quiet as I peeked around again, seeing Snoops sloppily grab some gold into a bag, and I took a deep breath as I held the slingshot up, aiming straight for the head/neck. I fired, faintly hearing a whistle through the air, and I heard a crack as Snoops went down, slow at first, and then direct flop into the floor.
I looked back at Haku and the teens, and gave a nod as we went to the room, and I checked Snoops' body, seeing quite a hole in the neck, through the back of the spine, clearly dead, and Haku agreed, giving his secondhand opinion.
The teens were understandably bothered, but they knew about the necessities of war and the boundaries of right/wrong. Burglary, arsonism, and perhaps vandalism, they are in the boundary of wrong, and Snoops was clearly the assailant behind it all.
We then took a look at all the treasure in this room, this trove of gold, etc., and I blinked in slight surprise when I saw Jim pick up a very familiar map, the map/tracker to Treasure Planet, but since it isn't a planet, but rather a island instead, does the map still work when it isn't seemingly mechanical or science-made?
Eilowny replied, "That is enchanted with magic. Actually, I can feel magic in this room, but it's hard to narrow it down until it's in any hand.". Jim looked down at the map orb, and seemed to tinker with it when his eyes alighted up, seeing a pattern, and I gasped softly as I saw the green flash of beaming light emerge out of the map, pouring upwards and downwards into the ceiling and room, clearly holographic.
Haku called out as the map soon took shape, revealing Enchantia, "Why, it's a map!", and the room was suddenly dark so the map can be showed easily, and with a bit of looking, I found our castle, "Hey, look, it's us, Auglire Castle.", reaching out with a finger, and I touched it, causing the castle to flash white.
The map seemed to zoom on, moving past castles, mountains, rivers, towns, forests, and then the sea, reaching a island with a strange rock that seemed to be shaped and carved like Treasure Planet, and Jim exhaled in amazement, "Treasure Island!".
Eilowny gasped in shock, "The island where Flint, Barboosa, Hook, and Jack Sparrow stashed their gold?", and Jim laughed, "Yes! I'd know that shape anywhere. I would never forget Uncle Silver's stories about Treasure Island!" I would never forget about that night that Silver opted to talk about Treasure Island at Jim's insistence.
Apparently, Flint and Barbossa were brothers, fought together against a rival pirate by the name of Davy Jones, and produced sons by the names of Will and Jack who ventured into different lives, and it turns out that Will is Silver and Sarah's grandfather, with Elizabeth as their grandmother, while Jack became legendary in fighting the grandfather of James Hook, Cutler Beckett.
They have fought near and in Treasure Island, yet only barely for a brief time here and there as it seemed like the mist around the island is determined to hide the secrets of Treasure Island, but as it turns out, at a price with a voodoo priestess in a cave, it is said that Treasure Island is fabled to be the home of El Dorado.
The kingdom of El Dorado apparently belongs to a immortal emperor by the name of Kuzco. Through I have a funny feeling that Yzma is supplying him long-living potions or something similar which is not impossible, concerning Yzma's skills with potions in her secret lab.
The myth of Emperor Kuzco is said to be that he was born from the union of Loki Laufeyson and a human version of Pepita, a Alebrije Goddess. I knew of Loki Laufeyson, thanks to having read Marvel comics about him, but Pepita, I haven't heard of her, through Silver said that she is agelessly beautiful with the power of shapeshifting.
I exhaled slowly, "We will talk about this later, gang, as we got other worries to concern with.", seeing the map vanish immediately before our eyes, and then I glanced at something that caught my attention. It looked like a green glass orb cradled/held by a gold hand that's shaped into a 'C', with the wrist handle a bronze color.
I went over to take a closer look as I picked it up in my hand, reminding me strongly that it's like a combo made from the Specter of the Oracle and the Hand of Midas from the third Aladdin sequel movie, yet the handle looks like it used to be part of a fancy spear, having the evidence that it got sheared off or broke in half.
Eilowny called out to me, "That's enchanted in magic too, the transformative kind, I believe, from what I can tell.". I blinked in surprise at that comment, having expected that this enchanted thing contained the Oracle or the infamous power of Midas, but it's rather different, thanks to the fact that this is Enchantia, not the movies back home.
I replied, "I don't know why, but I think this could help us out.", when suddenly, I heard a echoing hum, and I looked down to see the glass orb shimmering like water, and I think I felt approval coming from it as the enchanted object changed shape in a flash, transforming into a ring upon my rightmost finger of my left hand, the band as the hand with the orb shrunk down, acting as a diamond.
Jim's voice called out calmly with a whistle, "Okay, I didn't see that coming.", with Haku asking me in concern, "You okay, Jay?", using the nickname he sometimes used in place of my real name. I nodded in confirmation, "Yeah, I am fine. Turns out it's sentient...just like the magic carpet.", glancing at the ring, and the orb seemed to sparkle back at me when suddenly, a scream reached the room.
Eilowny gasped in horror, "That was Chip or Dale! Something's wrong!", and I gestured wildly as I sprinted out of the room, "Come on, let's check it out!", hoping that the rescue to and from the dungeons hadn't flopped out on my brother and the others, and praying that Emma and Silver is to be here sooner or later, through I prefer the former.
