Note: This chapter takes place several months after the last one, considering Kara's pregnancy has gone along quite a way since then.

Zari Tarazi

Kara sat on the couch with a popcorn bag on her large baby bump, watching an entertainment channel which was talking about Kayla.

"Ms. Kent is currently in Africa filming the first in the Totems Trilogy movie plot," the female host was saying, "but that's not all she has revealed her, and her wife Caitlin will be having a baby, using some sort of artificial womb from Luthor Corp. This means that the baby is actually half Kayla and half her wife's – the first child born on earth with two moms biologically."

"One of our reporters caught up with her on set," the male host said as the screen turned to a video. Kayla was standing on set in a costume similar to Indiana Jones.

"Fans are curious about your new baby," the reporter was saying. "Boy or girl?"

"Considering neither me nor Caitlin have a Y chromosome, it's a girl," Kayla remarked; the comment might have been a bit sarcastic.

"Do you have a name?" The reporter asked, laughing at his own stupid question.

"Danielle Alura Snow," Kayla said.

"Any reasons?" The reporter asked.

"Alura was my mom's name and as for Danielle, well that's named after Barry," Kayla explained.

"Barry?" The reporter said.

"Daniel Crusher," Kayla said with a smirk.

"Oh, Barry Allen, your brother-in-law," the reporter confirmed.

"Sort of," Kayla smiled.

"And is it true he's also expecting a child with your sister?" The reporter continued, but Kayla kept quiet on that, a wry smile on her face. That was when the screen cut back to the hosts.

"Since that interview, we have indeed confirmed that Barry Allen is having two children with Kayla's sister. We caught up with him not long ago to ask about it," the male host said, and the scene went to a clip of Barry on set of Star Trek. He looked tired and Kara had to chuckle from the couch at that.

"Can you give us any information about your children?" The reporter asked.

"Well, we are having two boys," Barry said with a smile. "And before you ask, we're naming them Kelvin Henry Allen and Asher Harrison Allen."

"Any reason for the names?" The reporter asked.

"Well, the middle names are after my biological and adopted fathers, but as for the first names they are named after Kayla," Barry revealed. "Kelvin for her Star Trek character K'El – she'd did two episodes playing a Vulcan – and Asher from her new Totem movie where she plays Asher Pond."

"Very interesting," the interviewer stated as Barry gave a yawn on the screen before the interview cut back to the studio.

"So, Kayla is naming her kids after Barry, and Barry after Kayla. Have we ever seen a celebrity friendship like this before?" The female host asked.

"They are almost brother- and sister-in-law," the male host mused. "The question is, when is Barry going to marry Kayla's sister?"

Before the female host could say something the TV was turned off, causing Kara to frown as she heard Barry speak.

"Why are you watching that garbage?" Barry had the remote in his hand.

"I like it," Kara said, glowering at Barry from her spot. Topar had down come up next to Kara and put her head on Kara's stomach, forcing Kara's expression to change as she smiled as she hugged her son.

"I'm starting to understand why Kayla fled the country and Cat told you to take it easy with work," Barry mused; Kara's moods had swung from all angles that Barry could not keep up or know what would make her mad or sad these days. "But I need to talk to you before I run out to help set up STAR Con."

"Is Kayla coming back for it?" Kara asked, honestly curious. This far away she could feel Kayla but not hear her as clear, and she was missing her sister, but Kayla had not missed a STAR con yet.

"I think so," Barry said with a nod. "But can I talk to you about something? I have been offered a part for a movie next summer." Kara tilted her head, wondering where this was going. "And I wanted to check with you first, considering the topic of the movie." Kara waited for Barry to continue. "It's about humans going up to space to locate the remains of Krypton. I've been offered the main part of the leader of the mission."

"Oh," Kara said, eyes side, surprised by this. "Well, I guess it makes sense. You are the Sci Fi Guy. Although this isn't really Sci Fi as, well I… I don't know what to think about this. That's my home planet. They could really mess it up."

"They are reaching out to Luthor Corp to ask for accurate information," Barry stated. "Look, this is a great role for me. I can continue on Star Trek with it but also branch out to something similar but also different. But if this would be weird for you I can turn it down. You matter more to me."

"And I can't think of someone I would trust more doing this part," Kara said truthfully. "Well, Kayla obviously, but besides her..." Barry had to chuckle at that.

"Thank you," Barry said kissing Kara's cheek. "Hey Topar. Want to come with me and do puppy dog eyes to some difficult-to-get-guests?"

"And Lego?" Topar asked, already pulling the puppy dog eyes on Barry.

"Yeah, then we can go shopping," Barry chuckled, and Topar jumped off the couch to follow Barry out.

Rae ran in just as Barry and Topar ran out, her hands full of bags.

"How's the greenhouse going?" Kara asked, honestly curious.

"It's getting there," Rae answered. "But I went to the store to restock. Need anything to eat?" Rae asked and looked at Kara who just looked at her. "Sorry. I'll just make something." Kara gave a smile as Rae disappeared into the kitchen.

Kayla had just taken her costume off and taken off her make-up. It had been a long day on set.

"Hey Sara," Kayla called, walking up to Sara who was talking to Leonard Snart – this movie was Sara's first true acting job. She had been hired as the bearer of the Death Totem; her part being that of a relative to Kayla's character so the movie had decided to cast her usual stunt double. Sara had been nervous, but Kayla had convinced her to take it. Leonard Snart was playing the Water Totem's bearer. "Leonard."

"Kayla," Leonard said with a nod, and Krypto, who was besides Kayla like always, gave a bark. "And Krypto."

"How are you doing?" Sara asked.

"Good, you know I really like my costumes for this movie. I wonder if the studio will let me keep some?" Kayla mused.

"I am sure you can convince them. At least keep the sexy one," Sara smirked; Kayla's character was an archaeologist, the costume department was giving her a very Indiana Jones inspired outfit. There was normal outfits that were for when Kayla's character was working but then a sexier version that showed off some skin for other scenes. "I am sure you and Caitlin could make use of those."

"Oh, some roleplay in the sack," Leonard chuckled.

"You two were made for each other," Kayla said, knowing Sara and Leonard Snart had a thing going since the first STAR Con.

"What are we talking about?" A new voice asked, and from behind Sara and Leonard Luke Fox came up. He was a dark man, somewhat of a geek and was playing the Fire Totem bearer in the movie. His character didn't like Kayla, Sara, and Leonard's characters, since the three were outsiders who got the Totems, but Luke himself was a sweet guy.

"Sex games Kayla and her wife could play with Kayla's costumes," Leonard said before Kayla could interrupt.

"Oh, get a whip," Luke said pleasantly, and Sara and Leonard laughed about this. "Oh, you could…"

"Zari!" Kayla yelled out, and a young girl came running up. "Get over here."

"Yes?" Zari said confused. Zari Tarazi was the youngest member of their main cast, only being 10. She was playing the bearer of the Air Totem and had got the part because her family originated from around here.

"Good girl," Kayla said with a smirk, putting an arm around Zari, confusing the girl. Calling Zari over had done what she wanted as all three of her co-stars were forced to shut up over sex conversations.

"Clever," Luke said, giving Kayla a smirk and moving off.

"We're going to head back now that filming is done," Sara said, giving Kayla a knowing wink and grabbing Leonard's hand.

"What was that about?" Zari asked, confused.

"That it's a good thing Leonard is playing Sara's character love interest and not mine," Kayla responded. "Thanks for the save there, Dragon Girl."

"Your welcome," Zari said still seeming confused. One of Zari's first parts had been as a character who could turn into a dragon and had earned her the name Dragon Girl, since.

"Hey, shouldn't you have left set a while ago?" Kayla realized; Zari hadn't been in the last scene they filmed so wasn't needed on set until tomorrow.

"My parents went exploring today and haven't come back," Zari said, a little concerned.

Kayla raised an eyebrow and looked around. They were done for the day and the crew was putting everything away as people were leaving the set. It seemed Kayla was the only one who realized Zari was still hanging around. "How about I wait with you?" Kayla asked, but she wasn't giving Zari a choice as they found a place to sit together as Kayla decide to amuse the girl with stories about herself on set when she was younger and letting her pet Krypto. It was concerning though, as the sun started to set too.

Kayla concern kept growing as time ticked by. The two were the only ones left on the set and it was getting late. She looked around. They were filming in a small-town area which, during the day with a lot of people around was safe, but she wasn't sure about at night. She and Krypto could obviously keep them safe, but she didn't like this.

"Zari, why don't we head back to the hotel?" Kayla decided, using the term 'hotel' lightly – the studio had got a nice place for them in a better area, but it wasn't anything like what Kayla was used to.

"But my mom and dad…?" Zari started.

"I am sure they will figure out someone took you back," Kayla said, biting her lip. No one was here and she didn't drive. Even if she did, they didn't have a car. There was only one way to go back. "Can you do me a favor and close your eyes and keep them close?"

"Why?" Zari asked.

"Please," Kayla said, and Zari gave a nod and closed her eyes. Kayla picked up Zari and held close her. "Come on Krypto, let's get her back to the hotel." Krypto gave a bark and the two ran at super speed.

-Beautiful-

"So, what are you cooking today?" Barry asked as he came into the kitchen, Topar in tow. The boy was carrying more Lego boxes than he should be able to, but since he had super strength, none of them were worried. Barry also had a bag in his hand. Topar went to toss the games down in his play room.

"Did you buy out the store?" Kara asked.

"Kid deserves it," Barry said, grabbing a roll off the table and eating it. "I found celebrity's kryptonite: cute kids with puppy dog eyes. If I got Ruby and Marley in on this STAR Con will have the best celebrity lineup there is. Better than San Diego."

Before Kara could comment Barry's cellphone rang. He went to answer it.

"Hey Kayla, STAR Con is shaping out even better this year. Kara says hi," Kara had been waving at him to say this. "You can get back right?" Barry continued. "I mean, you're always our top guest in the hole for all the cons."

"Barry, at the moment I don't care about the cons," Kayla said.

"Oh, is this your nightly call to say good night to Topar? You're closer," Barry said. "Wait, isn't Africa like 9 hours ahead? What time is it there?"

"Barry can you just listen for a moment," Kayla snapped.

"You better listen. I can feel her annoyance," Kara said, listening in with her super hearing, and Barry gave a nod.

"How fast can you and Rae run to Africa?" Kayla asked.

"Missing us? Because you can just come and visit on one of those days you sneak back to visit Caitlin," Barry said.

"Barry, please take this seriously," Kayla implored. "My co-star, Zari Tarazi's parents are missing."

"I thought her last name was Tomaz," Barry said.

"Stage name," Kayla dismissed; it was similar to Kayla herself, as she was technically a Lang, having been adopted by Lana, but went by Kayla Kent for her stage name. "I need you and Rae to find them."

"And Supergirl and Superdog can't handle this?" Barry asked.

"I seem to be the only one who is taking care of a young ten-year-old," Kayla sighed. "Please Barry, I am calling in the cavalry."

"And the cavalry you shall get. We'll be there soon," Barry said, hanging up the phone. "You're going to have to order in food tonight. Rae, we're running to Africa!" Barry called to Rae, who came out of the kitchen, looking confused. "Let's get to Luthor Corp and get our outfits."

"No need," Rae said as lighting appeared around her body as a suit appeared – it was red with white lightning bolts covering it and a mask appeared on her face. Her hair had also somehow ended up in a ponytail. "Speed Force suit. Cool right? My New Justice counterpart taught me this."

"That is so unfair! Well, get a head start I'll catch up," Barry said, running out and going to get his outfit. Rae waited for a moment, sharing a look with Kara, before she ran off as well.

-Beautiful-

Barry and Rae had run to Africa and near where the Totem movie was filming. They fanned out and started their search for the missing parents, covering a great area with relative speed. Finally, they finally came to an area where people were gathered. The two slowed down and people stared; other countries weren't used to the speedsters after all.

"Anyone here speak English?" Barry asked aloud, and a man stepped up.

"I do," the man said. He had an American accent, so Barry assumed he was a volunteer from some organization. "What are you doing here Flash and…?" The man looked at Rae. While she had been seen a couple of times, she didn't have an official superhero name.

"Speed Spirit," Rae said, surprising Barry.

"Since when?" Barry asked.

"Valor and Saturn Girl helped me think of it," Rae said. "But bigger issues."

"Oh yeah," Barry said holding up his cellphone that had a picture of Zari's parents on it, which Kayla had sent to him. "Have you seen these two?"

"Unfortunately, yes," the man groaned, indicating Barry and Rae to follow, and brought them over to what seemed to be a line of covered bodies. Barry groaned as Rae paused, dread filling Barry's stomach as the man paused before taking a cover off two of the bodies.

"These them?" The man asked as Barry moved forward to examine the bodies, comparing the faces to that on his phone. It was definitely the same people.

"What happened?" Barry asked.

"Gang violence," the man explained. "We've been here treating the people who survived. This area is full of rival gangs, these two must have got caught in the crossfire."

"Who are the others?" Rae asked, nodding to the other covered corpses.

"Other gang members and innocent bystanders," the volunteer explained. "Anyway, who are those two having superheroes looking for them? Some American politicians?"

"Parents to a young actress who's filming a movie here," Barry said.

"The Totem movie?" The man asked, eyes suddenly wide.

"Yes," Rae said.

"Little Zari's parents?" The man asked again and the two nodded. "Her family is actually from this area. That's why she got the part in the movie. And that movie…. it's bringing a lot of money and publicity to this area. I fear what's going to happen now."

Barry didn't say anything to that. He knew what was going to happen. There was no way the movie was going to stay here. "Can you make sure their bodies get to the proper authorities to bring back to America?" Barry asked and the man nodded.

"And tell us the gangs who did this," Rae said, making the man look at her. "They're never hurting anyone again." Barry gave a nod at this. The Flash and Speed Spirit had a job to do.

-Beautiful-

Kayla sat in the living room area of Zari's room, Barry having informed her what happened to Zari's parents and the entire cast had been told. She had to send some people away who had wanted to tell the girl. Kayla needed to do this herself as Zari had been asleep and Kayla had decided to let her sleep before telling her.

"Hey," Zari said as she came out of her room. "Mom and dad are not back?"

"Zari can you sit?" Kayla said, patting the couch. Zari moved over slowly and sat down next to Kayla, frowning now. "Zari, I… I'm sorry."

"What?" Zari said.

"I've had this told to me before, but I never had to do it myself. I don't know how to ease you into it, and I feel that would be wrong for you not to know. So, I'm just going to say it. Your parents were in the wrong place at the wrong time and they didn't make it," Kayla said.

"Didn't make it where?" Zari asked, and Kayla knew she understood but just needed it said out loud. Krypto gave a whine and rubbed against Zari.

"Zari, they're dead," Kayla said, and could see the tears appear in Zari's eyes right away.

"No, no…" Zari said shaking her head. "They are the only family I have. Without them… no. They can't…" Zari broke out crying, and Krypto gave out a moan and rubbed Zari's arm. Kayla ignored her dog though and brought Zari into a hug letting Zari cry into her.

"Hey, I got you okay," Kayla said holding Zari knowing it was all she could do. "I've got you," she stated now, holding back the tears herself as she remembered what Zari had gone through. At least she had had Kara back then, but Zari had no one. Kayla couldn't let anything bad happen to this girl.

-Beautiful-

It was almost a week later that Kayla and Zari were getting out of the car at Kayla's house in National City. Krypto jumped out after them as the driver took suitcases out of the trunk and Kayla giving him a tip.

"Come on," Kayla said, putting a hand on Zari's back as she led Zari inside the large home.

"Kayla!" It was Ruby who came running towards Kayla the minute the door was open and hugged Kayla.

"Hi, Little Gem," Kayla said with a smile as Marley came running up to hug her too. "Marley." Kayla hugged both girls and kissed their heads. "Girls, this is Zari. She's going to be staying with us for a while. Zari, these are my daughters Ruby and Marley. My wife, Caitlin and her sister Daphne." Zari gave a shy nod as Kayla quickly signed the entire thing for Marley. Zari had been very resigned since her parents' death.

"Welcome," Caitlin said with a smile. "Girls why don't you show Zari up to the spare room?"

"Okay," Ruby said, taking Zari's hand and leading her up the stairs.

"So, you have custody of her?" Daphne asked.

"Temporary," Kayla said. "It was easier for an American on the crew to take custody of her and I stepped up." Kayla then looked at Caitlin. "I am sorry. I didn't ask you before this…"

"Hey, you never have to apologize for helping a child," Caitlin said soothingly, hugging her wife and giving her a kiss.

"Thanks," Kayla said as she went to sit down. Krypto jumped up on the couch and Kayla put an arm around him.

Caitlin waved her hand at her sister who got the hint and went up the stairs herself. It was best for Daphne to check on the girls' anyway.

"What's wrong?" Caitlin asked, sitting down besides Kayla.

Kayla used her super hearing to make sure Zari was not in hearing range before she spoke. "Well, I wasn't much older than her," Kayla said to Caitlin, "when my planet blew up." Caitlin put an arm around Kayla. She didn't mention Krypton's fate too often. "I can still hear my mom speaking. I can hear her saying to Kara and me, 'Kara, Kaylar, protect your cousin'. I remember being in that pod with Kara and seeing everything I had ever known just go up in fire. Then, years in the Phantom Zone, and when we finally got here we were too late. It was… awful, but through all that I had Kara. I learned recently what it would be like not to have her and I didn't like it. Now Zari lost everything. She has no one."

"She has you," Caitlin said.

"Only temporarily. A social worker will be coming eventually to take her. A young actress… in foster care. One wrong placement can destroy her life," Kayla said.

"Then… maybe we don't let it," Caitlin mused, making Kayla look at her. "We have the money and the room. Maybe she can stay here?"

"Really?" Kayla asked.

"It seems important for you to be there for her," Caitlin said. "And if it's important to you, it's important to me." Kayla brought Caitlin into a hug, not sure how her wife knew it was important for her, but glad she did.

-Beautiful-

"Hey," Barry said getting into the bed and kissing Kara. "Kayla's home."

"In time for STAR Con," Kara joked with Barry, who gave a sad nod. "I heard the Totem movie filming is moving to a set here."

"Did you actually expect them to stay in Africa after Zari's parents' murder?" Barry asked and Kara shook her head. The studio had announced they were moving out of Africa after the tragic deaths, and the movies were being delayed in accordance. "I feel so bad for Zari."

"I think Zari will be fine," Kara said and Barry looked at her. "Kayla and Caitlin have decided to take care of her."

"There's no better mentor for a young actress," Barry said with a small smile and kissed Kara, and then kissed Kara's stomach. "I can't wait to see you two." Barry said to the unborn children, putting his hands on them, and Kara had to smile.

"Barry let's do it," Kara said.

"Do what?" Barry asked.

"Let's get married," Kara said; Barry fell off the bed at that. "Please tell me you didn't faint again…"

"No, no," Barry said, getting up off the bed. "Super healing. I'll be fine… Um, what… what brought this on?"

"I was overhearing Kayla talk to Caitlin about our lives – when Krypton blew up, I mean. It got me thinking about my life since, from Krypton to Mon. I loved Mon with everything and if I didn't marry him I know right now I would have regretted it. And I don't want to one day regret not marrying you because I love you. And I want you there through everything – every Kryptonian tradition. When we present our sons to Rao, I want you as part of my life. As part of the House of El. So, marry me," Kara said.

"And this isn't just pregnancy hormones?" Barry asked.

"It isn't. I want you to be my husband," Kara said.

"Then yes," Barry said, kissing Kara.

"We can have Uncle Jor do it. Clark will welcome you into the house," Kara said as they kissed.

"I love all that," Barry said, kissing Kara some more and then paused. "Present our sons to Rao?"

"It's a religious ceremony," Kara said, and Barry frowned.

"Okay," Barry said, deciding not to question it as he continued to kiss Kara.

-Beautiful-

The next morning Kayla was in her work room, sitting at a fancy recording booth she had bought so she could do her voice work for Hermione. Krypto was sleeping on the floor.

There was a knock at the door, and it opened slightly. Kayla waved for Zari to come in and then pulled up a finger asking her to wait a moment. "Now, if you two don't mind, I'm going to bed before either you come up with another clever idea to get us killed – or worse, expelled," Kayla said in a perfect British accent. She pushed a button on the recording booth to stop recording and played the line back.

"Sorry," Kayla said standing up as she did. "I thought I was done with all my lines for the first season of Harry Potter, but the directors asked me if I could re-record some now I am home." She had done some of the recording in Africa, but it hadn't been as good as here.

"Do you get a lot for voice work?" Zari asked.

"Because of whom I am, yes, but not as much as movies or TV shows. Personally, I'm only doing this because the girls love Harry Potter," Kayla said, looking at Zari who's eyes were now on her piano. "So, you play?"

"No," Zari said shaking her head. "I do want to learn the guitar."

Kayla took one of her guitars and played a few lines and Zari smiled. "We'll get you a teacher, but I've got to talk to you," Kayla said, and Zari nodded. "Your being with me was meant to be temporary," Zari gave a sad nod. "I talked to your social worker this morning and she has agreed to make this more permanent."

"Permanent?" Zari asked.

"Caitlin and I will become your foster parents," Kayla said. "With an option to adopt after a certain amount of time. If that is okay with you?" Zari didn't speak but moved forward and hugged Kayla, who hugged back, smiling. "But, if you're going to be a part of this family there is some things you have to learn." Zari looked at Kayla as they pulled apart. "First off is sign language. It's easier for Marley."

"Okay," Zari said with a nod. Kayla decided reveals of Supergirl, and Flash could wait until she was more adjusted, and they knew if Zari was going to work in the family.

"Now that that's settled, why don't you go watch some TV with your new sisters?" Kayla said and Zari gave a smile. "Oh, is your family heirloom okay?" The one thing Zari didn't let Kayla touch when they were packing was a box with what she claimed a family heirloom was within it.

"Yep," Zari said, leaving the room as Caitlin walked in.

"I think things are going to work out," Caitlin said with a smile. "Soon we'll have four girls."

"Yeah," Kayla said, thinking of Danielle that was still on the way. "Hey, have you been using this room when I was away?"

"Um… well…. I need an office when I work from home," Caitlin explained. "I was going to transform the extra room into one but now with Zari, we're full."

"No need to ask again, I'll take care of that," Kayla chuckled, taking out her cellphone and dialing a number before Caitlin could stop her. "Hi John, it's Kayla Kent. You did some work for me some years ago." Kayla paused and Caitlin wished she had super hearing. "Yeah, well my wife needs an office so I was wondering if we could talk about a new expansion?" Kayla paused for a lot longer. "Ah, well, with that third option are we talking a full-blown guest house, because we could use an extra room too." Kayla paused. "Sounds good, can you do a mockup of all three options and give price ranges?" Kayla paused again. "Yes, you can come by in a couple of days to look over the house. See you soon John."

Kayla hung up. "Well, office for you on the way," Kayla said, and Caitlin laughed aloud.

"You're really going to do an expansion?" Caitlin said.

"Why not?" Kayla said with a smile. "Oh, and pick out a dress with the House of El symbol on it."

"Why?" Caitlin asked.

"For Kara and Barry's wedding, of course," Kayla said as she walked out of the room.

"Wait… what just happened?" Caitlin asked confused.

"She proposed, of course," Kayla explained, not really thinking about it as her mind was still on the extension she'd just started – it was unusual, she'd expected to have Kara and Topar living with her eventually, but now she had a house full of girls with Caitlin, Daphne, Ruby, Marley, and Zari. It was unusual how life moved, but at least Kara had a good future now.

Post Chapter Note: Yes, Kara and Caitlin are taking in Zari. This was an idea inspired by Maria/SilverInifinite/Infinite_Silver who suggested bringing a teen Zari into the story. This isn't the only place where a teen Zari will be seen. It also evens out Kara/Barry and Caitlin/Kayla in kids-

Adopted:

Karry- Rae.

Kaylin- Zari (Daphne doesn't count since she was too old and grown up when Kayla came into the picture. She's more like a Karry Amelia who helps with the kids and takes advantage of the money the two have)

From a former relationship:

Karry- Topar.

Kaylin- Ruby/Marley

Both of theirs, biologically:

Karry- Kelvin/Asher

Kaylin- Danielle
