Chapter Six, A New Normal

In a wide open room in Salem's castle, Cinder found herself being knocked mercilessly to the floor. She bit back any kind of cry of pain, refusing to show weakness as she "looked" in the direction that she thought her master was in.

"Why do you still attempt to rely upon a sight that isn't there? Why do you insist upon it?" Salem chided.

"I'm trying, your grace. It's not easy to fight without any eyes." Cinder explained.

"Well you're not trying hard enough." Salem responded.

Cinder grit her teeth, but refused to say anything in response. She simply got back up, ready to try again. She then began trying to listen for any movements in the room, attempting to pick out different sounds. When she heard the sound of Salem's shoes against the floor, she rushed towards the sound, going in for the strike.

Meanwhile at Beacon Academy

Yang, still unhappy with the whole situation, just sat with her arms crossed. She wouldn't even look at her sister at this point, much less speak to her.

"How is this a debate? She's already lost her memory and nearly her life." Ruby explained.

"That's not a punishment, Ruby. Those are consequences." Yang replied curtly.

"Exactly! She's already faced the consequences of her actions, so why should she be punished?" Ruby asked.

"She tried to get people KILLED, Ruby! And did you forget that she tried to kill me!?" Yang snapped.

"She was a different person then! The Neo that did that is gone! The Neo we have now would never do that!" Ruby yelled back.

"You don't know that, Ruby! Now that her memories are coming back, who's to say she won't just go back to being that same person!?" Yang yelled.

Concerned, Neo types, 'Do I get a say in this?'

"No!" The two sisters yelled in unison.

In response, Neo sits in the corner.

"She's never going to get anywhere if we punish her all the time!" Ruby yelled.

"How do you expect her to become a good person if she's just allowed to get away with the terrible things she does!?" Yang snapped back.

"She's already a good person!" Ruby yelled.

"You don't know that!" Yang yelled back.

"ENOUGH!" Blake yelled with surprising volume.

Both sisters flinched at that, immediately falling silent. Neither said anything and waited for Blake to speak. Even Weiss was taken by surprise by this.

"We are getting nowhere! How about we meet in the middle?" Blake asked.

"How can we possibly meet in the middle on this?" Yang asked incredulously.

"Yang wants to hurt poor little Neo!" Ruby yelled.

"Poor little Neo!? She! Tried! To! KILL me!" Yang snapped, emphasizing each word.

"QUIET!" Blake growled.

Ruby and Yang both quieted back down at that, neither wanting to push their normally quiet and patient friend any further than they already had.

"Alright. We are going to come to the middle. You two come up with a fair punishment for Neo. No permanent damage or jail. Something to get the point across, and hopefully make you a hint less sour Yang." Blake explained.

"How about a time out?" Ruby asked.

Neo, hearing this, pitches in, typing, 'I'm with ruby on this! Let's go with her plan!'

"A time out? She rammed a train into downtown Vale… endangered who knows how many people… tried to KILL ME, your ONLY SISTER… and you propose a fucking time out…!?" Yang growled out, her voice dripping with offense and barely restrained rage.

Neo, getting defensive, types, 'To be fair, the train was on my daddy, not me…'

Yang grit her teeth at that, biting back a reply.

"Okay, is a spanking okay?" Ruby asked, gulping a bit.

Neo flinched at that.

"A spanking…?" Yang coldly asked.

"Yang, that's probably the best that's gonna happen. Besides, you know damn well Ruby isn't gonna let anything worse happen to her. Also, are you really gonna pass up an opportunity like this?" Blake asked.

Yang grit her teeth at that, clenching her hands into fists. While she wanted to snap back or hit something, she knew that wouldn't get her anywhere. Not this time. Sighing, she simply glared down and nodded.

"Now, don't break her, Yang!" Ruby called, concerned for Neo's well being and innocence.

"Don't push your luck, Ruby." Yang said coldly, glaring at her sister.

Neo's eyes grow wide in horror.

Later at Salem's Castle

Tyrian walked towards the large gothic throne room of his queen. He smiled in his usual wicked way. To bask in the glory of his queen is always a moment to cherish. Opening the doors, he saw Salem seated on her throne, gazing down at him. He walked up to her and bowed before her, a symbol of his servitude.

"To what do I owe the honor milady?" Tyrian asked gleefully.

"I require you to capture some troublesome assets of Ozpin's for me, Tyrian." Salem said coldly.

"But of course my queen." Tyrian said.

"I want them alive." Salem clarified.

"Of course…" Tyrian said, trying to hold in his disappointment at not being able to kill them.

"I want everyone in Beacon dormitory A-1432." Salem continued.

"It will be done." Tyrian said before rising and leaving, determined in his mission.

Dead of night at Beacon Academy

Darkness clung over the Academy in all of its gloomy glee. Not a creature was stirring, as far as anyone could see. All the students were snug in their factory pressed beds. All except Neo, who's ass no one could mend. She tossed and she turned, like a barrel down hill, till she saw a man in the courtyard, running full tilt. He then jumped onto the wall, with murderous glee. Causing Neo much fright, as she turned on the lights.

In a panic, Neo wakes everyone up, frantically typing, 'Get your weapons! We're under attack!'

The others groaned at this. None of them were in the mood for pranks. The girls all put their pillows over their heads.

"Go back to sleep and turn off the lights, Neo…!" Yang complained.

It was at that moment, a man with a scorpion tail crashed loudly through the window. This caused everyone to jolt up and look in shock. Quickly, the members of Team RWBY reached for their scrolls to call in their lockers. The man with the golden yellow eyes and scorpion tail grinned maniacally as he drew his weapons, a set of blades that resembled scorpion pincers.

"I'm going to need you all to be coming with me, ladies. And please… do resist…!" Tyrian cackled as he rushed at Ruby.

Drawing a ruler from a nearby desk and reinforcing it with Aura, Neo got between the man and Ruby. The man swung at Neo as she raised the ruler like a makeshift blade to block it. To the surprise of the teenagers, the ruler broke on contact with the blades as he grinned murderously and continued his attack. Slashing Neo from her abdomen to her chest at an angle, the man's attack cut clean through her Aura and drew first blood.

Everyone looked on in shock and disbelief as they called their weapons. Meanwhile, Tyrian kicked Neo to the side to knock her away only to be forced to dodge a rocket propelled locker slamming through the ceiling and smashing into the floor. Taking Crescent Rose from her locker and transforming it into its scythe form, Ruby glared at the man before her.

Tyrian became a bit nervous at that moment. With the noise that made, there would no doubt be more people arriving. If he was going to capture these girls, he needed to do so quickly. For the glory of his goddess, he could not fail.

Her gauntlets at the ready, Yang charged in and went on the attack. However, Tyrian easily dodged the blonde brawler's barrage of punches and kicked Yang away before blocking a slash from the sword of Blake's Gambol Shroud. Smirking, he pushed the blade away and stabbed at the cat Faunus with his scorpion tail, forcing her to dodge. He then had to dodge multiple stabs from Weiss with her Myrtenaster, doing so with ease before knocking the rapier from the Schnee heiress's hands. Kicking her away, he blocked a slash from Crescent Rose.

Double teaming the mad scorpion Faunus, Blake and Ruby slashed at him repeatedly with their weapons. Ruby was aiming high, bringing Crescent Rose down with heavy slashes, while Blake went low with slashes from her cleaver and sword. However, Tyrian simply jumped aside from the scythe blade and over the sword and cleaver, kicking the two girls in the face and knocking them back. Blocking a slash from each of them as they brought their weapons up to attack, Tyrian smirked madly as he pushed their weapons away and dodged a jumping punch from Yang. Yang's fist smashed a deep, spiderweb crack-filled crater in the floor before she was stabbed at with the scorpion Faunus's tail, barely dodging it in time to avoid being injected with its venom.

It was in that moment when Tyrian heard a commotion in the hall. The sounds of feet hitting the floor, the chinking and clanging of weapons moving as their owners ran. Realizing he was out of time, the mad scorpion Faunus lept backwards out the broken window, retreating into the night and leaving the carnage that was the trashed dorm room in his wake.

As Ruby ran to tend to Neo, the rest of her team looked around at the room before them. They couldn't do anything against that man, whoever he was. Had he wanted to, he could have easily killed them. If Neo had not alerted them to his presence, who knows what fate could have befallen them.

Sighing, Yang looked at the small girl with dual colored hair and heterochromatic eyes as Ruby tended to her injuries, injuries she sustained in an attempt to protect her little sister. A futile attempt, but still an attempt.

'Okay… I GUESS I can give her a chance…' Yang thought with a sigh.
