"Wow... that was quick.", John chuckled as he sat down next to Emma and handed their son over to him. Almost as soon as he was in front of her breasts, he quickly latched on and started to drink from her. "How you feeling right now, Em?", John asked her.
Emma leaned her head on his shoulder, "So tired yet so relieved and happy...He's so little.", for their son is literally the size of a 7-month-old out of the womb, yet alive and breathing as he's actually purring and squeezing her breast, probably using a bit of his dragon strength to do so.
"Like Milo said... he's the runt... he hatched too early... but at least he'll live.", John sighed as he leaned against her. "You really had me scared there for a few minutes there, luv. I really thought you might have died as well as this one here as well."
Emma kissed him softly, "I was scared too...Maybe it was the change of positions in the birthing process, the squat thing, or the pressure of the pushes that put the egg the wrong way...But we both made it, John...One thing for sure, I'm obeying Kida...I will have to ask Jasmine to teach me how to make the anti-pregnancy elixir so I won't worry about it for the next few years...".
John smiled softly as he caressed Emma's hair with one hand while the other hand is caressing their son's head, "I strongly agree on that...Gods, I love you so much...I don't want to lose you ever again...Be my wife, Emma."...following his heart and mind that's saying the same thing, realizing that it isn't a proposal properly, but he's blunt anyway.
"Is that a marriage proposal?", Emma gave a small chuckle as he nodded. "I guess it is.", John responded with a smile of his own before she kissed him on the lips.
"Needs some work, but I can easily answer with a yes. Sorry if I'm not breaking down in happy tears and all... just...", Emma replied with a small smile and a little sigh.
"Birthing five children including a close call has left you exhausted.", John smirked. "Yes... I swear, I think I'm gonna be sleeping for a whole week straight.", Emma muttered with a nod.
John chuckled, "Sounds good to me, but before you do, how about a full name for our boy? Wait, are you going to take my last name?", and Emma giggled softly, "Yep. And besides, Emma Silver sounds better than Emma Fischer...He's a Silver, alright...".
Emma looks thoughtful at their suckling son, smiling as she caressed his skin gently, her heart full of love, "I've always had a liking for Kyle. And it doesn't hurt that it's a Scottish name.".
"Scottish?", John looked at her. "Land where I come from; the people there sound like you.", Emma explained as he smiled.
"Ah... I see. Well, in that case, I think Kyle is completely fitting of this little one.", John gently brushed Kyle's head. Emma smiled warmly, "Glad that you approve...Now, how about a star-based name for his middle name? After all, Jim's middle name is Pleiades. Hmmm, how about Felis? It means lucky.".
"Doesn't that fit him too well?... He's lucky to be alive compared to his siblings.", John said as he continued to watch Kyle feed.
Emma chuckled softly, "Indeed.", kissing Kyle's forehead, "Welcome to the world, Kyle Felis Silver...", seeing Kyle blink up at her before letting go with a hiccup, and Emma laughed softly, putting him up against her shoulder, patting his back for a moment before hearing a belch.
John laughed heartily, "He loves your milk, Emma.", as Emma cradles Kyle who then gurgles, reaching for John, "Looks like he wants to cuddle with you, John.", passing Kyle over into John's arms.
Kyle yawned, curling his wings and tail around himself as he turned into John's flesh arm, clenching into his shirt, and Emma chuckled softly, "He has the same idea...", kissing John, "Watch him for me, my love.", before shifting back to dragon form, using her tail to push the rest of the eggs in, resting near her belly, protecting them with her legs as she curled her head around the tail, asleep almost immediately.
John didn't almost notice Kida and Milo as Kida whispered softly, "Do you want us to tell the news to your nephew and his girlfriend?".
"I think they should know for sure... as for seeing them, I'm not so sure yet. I think we just need a good day's worth of rest before we start having excitement from them.", John gave a small chuckle as Kida nodded, "As you wish; we'll let you two have as much time you need to yourselves.".
John nodded, "Thank you for saving Emma...", and Kida patted his shoulder, "You deserve her, Silver, her and the children including this little one.".
Milo smiled brightly, "And congratulations on the blunt proposal. We can host your wedding here if you want to, but I believe you'll have to talk with Emma on that, perhaps she has a different place and time in mind.".
John chuckled softly, "We will talk about it, thank you for the offer. Perhaps she'll consider it as the eggs won't hatch yet for the next three months. Only Kyle here will lend us some experience.", with a soft smile as Kyle snuffled in his sleep, purring.
Milo nodded, and looked at Kida who smiled, grabbing his hand, leaving the nest with a grace over the rocks and fence, heading for the rock elevator.
The two lovers were soon left alone again as John got close to Emma once again and leaned against her laying form while the eggs were properly guarded, "I love you so much, Emma... you and our new children.". He then chuckled at the thought of the four little ones still unhatched. "I wonder how much longer we're going to have to wait for these four.".
After some time, brunch was delivered via rock elevator, and John was careful in holding Kyle while picking up the basket of boiled lobster and grilled fish, and Emma was woken up, taking a drink of water from the tub, taking the lobster in a single bite of her jaws as John was glad that the fish was pre-cut into pieces for him.
Emma tucked the eggs in the layers of fur as she nuzzled John gently, and shifted back to human, holding him from behind, "I feel much better now. Has Kyle been sleeping all this time?", and John chuckled, "He got it from me. I bet he could sleep through a storm without any problem.".
"One day, we'll have to see when he gets older. Do you think Jim and Eilonwy knows?", Emma asked as she then sat beside him, smiling at Kyle in John's flesh arm, looking so deeply comfortable.
"Oh, certainly, Kida probably quickly found them to explain. But I asked to give us about a good day before letting them come and see the children.", John explained as Emma nodded.
Emma smiled, "That's good to hear.", caressing Kyle's little tufts of hair, stirring him to wake up, and when he blinked open to see his ma, he cried out for attention and lunch, reaching up to her.
Emma laughed, removing her breast covering, and picked Kyle up from John's arm, cradling him up to her free breast, latching almost instantly, and Emma gave a little hum, smiling softly.
John looked at his lover and son with a fond smile, "Lass, Milo and Kida offered to host our wedding here if we wanted to get married, but it's up to you, luv. After all, we could always wait until after all the other children hatches, or after the war...".
"Hard decision... it almost feels like the war has ended with how peaceful things have been for us. False sense of security and all though, I know.", Emma sighed. "I don't really know, part of me wants to wait... at least until all of this is over and we've won...".
John blinked before smiling, "Then let me make it easier for you. Which part of you is like screaming at you? For me, the part of me that wants to marry you as soon as possible is screaming at me. If you're already this beautiful in nursing our boy, imagine how much more beautiful you will be at our wedding.", with a kiss on her temple as he held her around her shoulders.
She gave a small giggle upon his kiss before she leaned back into him. "I know, I know... you're right... we should do it sooner than later... I guess I'm just thinking this war might not be going much longer... but who knows what awaits us."
John rubbed her shoulder, "Hey, remember what you told me weeks ago? Take a day at a time. One thing for sure, we'd have to get all the team back together to be attending, and perhaps, if we ask Logan and Jasmine, maybe we could make it a double wedding.".
Emma laughed softly, "That's a generous idea, John...To make it a double wedding would be twice as long to make, but with guests and all, probably a month at best...But it's their decision...", with a nod.
John smiled, "That's plenty of time to get to know Kyle and his schedule...Oh, by the Great Kings, I need to go to the marketplace to buy a crib or something! We can't hold him all the time...", with a smile at Kyle who glanced momentarily at him before focusing back on suckling his lunch.
"I knew we were forgetting something.", Emma laughed as she took Kyle from her breasts as the baby was starting to yawn and fall asleep again. "At least we don't have as much to worry about at the moment with just the one... Once the others are born... Oh, boy...".
John shrugs, "Or maybe the age of the children is different...I mean, with them having magic and shapeshifter genes, it's possible. After all, Kyle may look like 7 months old, but he's smart as a whip for 9 months or older.".
Emma nodded, "That's very possible.", before smiling, "Go ahead and find one, John.", creating a portal to the marketplace that's slightly peeking from the corner as Emma is protective of the nest, understandably.
John smiled, kissing Emma on the lips and bopping Kyle on the nose, "Behave for your mama.", and Kyle snuffled, snuggling back into Emma's belly, and John gave a soft chuckle before hopping through the portal, and Emma closed it after him, knowing that John could get back by either sunlight shadows or the rock elevator.
With that settled, in the next day, they were visited by Jim and Eilonwy who were in love with the baby, and Jim was in awe of his first cousin, swearing to protect him as he's a runt yet a survivor.
They were excited to hear the news of their engagement and offered to head to the kingdoms where the rest of the team are situated at, knowing their plans by bird mail.
Of course, the plans would be put on delay for a time; after all, Emma wanted to make sure the other four eggs hatched and that the rest of their children were all healthy enough before they would plan to any sort of moving. Especially if word of the children ended up reaching the ear of their foes... that would be the last thing any of the Talons or the forces of good would want.
Over the next two months, Kyle became an independent, bubbly, determined boy, already trying to crawl on four legs or flap his wings, but thanks to the trauma he momentarily survived during the birthing process, his inner core is permanently stuck, which means he couldn't shift to full human form or full dragon form, staying forever as a hybrid: half human and half dragon. But in the end, he's alive, which is all that matters to his parents.
And right now, Kyle is trying to get out of the nest and explore the rest of the chamber which is causing John in his dragon form to chase him out of frustration yet pride.
The rest of the eggs were still growing and about to hatch any day now, with how they rocked and shook, sometimes very hard, it was almost amazing they hadn't already hatched yet.
John huffed with a playful growl, 'Wait until I get you, rascal!', and Kyle giggled, "Papa rascal!", flapping his wings a little, crawling quickly which is remarkably incredible, but this is not normal baby business, but rather hybrid business which is how Kyle likes it.
Emma, in her dragon form, is laying down with a smile on her snout, holding her head up, watching every movement of Kyle with affection and amusement, seeing John pounce every moment Kyle escapes, until finally, Kyle is getting tired from trying to fly, and John catches him on his head, purring with a snort, 'Gotcha, rascal.'.
Kyle mumbled, "Sleepy.", yawning as John smiles, 'Of course you are, Kyle. You are a trooper, trying to fly. Good first try.', walking back with Kyle curled up, blinking sleepily on the spot just above John's eyes.
'At least he can speak already.', Emma smiled as John laid down with her. 'Certainly, less issues in that case... like when he cries, at least we know why for the most part.'.
'If he even gives a reason.', John snorted with a wink. Emma gave a rumbling giggle, 'True.', looking up at their slumbering son.
Kyle doesn't care if it's either skin or fur of his father as long as it's warm, and as for Emma, his favorite spot is in Emma's front paws right against her chest in her dragon form, figuring that he loves to listen to his mother's heartbeat.
Emma purred, moving to nuzzle John gently as she doesn't want to disturb Kyle, even though he's a deep sleeper no matter what. John purrs back, their huffs of breath intermixing together, enjoying the peaceful moment as long as it lasts.
'You alright?', John asked her as she nodded. 'Yeah... just... still find it so hard to believe all this at times, you know? Something I never truly would think of in my wildest dreams and yet here it is... all real.', Emma sighed.
John gives a blink and then a smile, 'Even after you have been here in my world for almost a year now?'.
Emma smiles and chuckles, 'Yes, even so.', before glancing at their son again with a motherly smile, 'Kyle practically adores you, John. You're a great father, and you will be as well to the other children.'
'Yeah, we'll see about that one at least... I think I want to wait a few years before we start making that assumption.', John said. 'You think something could go wrong?', Emma asked.
'Well, that's always the risk for parents, isn't there? Not looking the right direction for even a second could be... I don't even want to think about it almost.', John replied.
'I know what you mean... that's true, that's always the risk... but I think we'll do fine.', Emma nodded with a soft growl.
John blinks softly, 'Because Kyle is part dragon, and some of the others would be dragons as well?', and Emma nodded, 'Face it, John. We disposed of Tremaine with fireballs when she was trapped. All the senses are heightened, and of course, there's strength, flight, teeth/claws, our scales, and of course, our fire. We are gentle yet fierce when it comes to it.'
'Yeah, I suppose I'm just worrying too much about things... they're honestly going to be pretty hard to hurt, for sure... and it certainly will be less of a worry when we win this war. I really believe that Emma... I truly think this war is about to end sometime soon.', John said.
Emma nuzzled him, 'Yes, we must end this war soon for the sake of our children, our friends, our family.', with a firm nod before she perked her ears up, hearing cracks, and looked over to the resting eggs before growling in surprise as she got up, almost sprinting over, eyes locked upon the egg of dark gray with baby blue streaks.
'Was that...?', John asked before he noticed, and Emma nodded. 'Yes... they're coming!', she snorted as the parents' attention was locked straight to the eggs.
Emma nuzzled the egg of dark gray with baby blue streaks, 'Come on, little one, you're almost there.', seeing the cracks increase, and the egg shakes violently before a claw emerges out, a chirping sound is heard.
Emma chuckles softly, 'There you are, keep going.', and the egg shakes some more as the paw emerges with all the claws intact, and the chirping sound becomes louder, 'You must break out on your own strength, little one.', Emma answers.
'You sure we can't help?', John asked as Emma gave him a look that read no. 'Sorry.', he apologized as the egg continued to crack as the baby was trying to escape the shell.
The egg shakes, tipping from side to side, the chirps changing into growls as more cracks came before breaking open to reveal a snout, more paws, and tail, huffs of smoke trailing through the shell, and then finally, it fell forward, breaking open to reveal a dragon hatchling.
