Disclaimer: I don't own anything regarding Star vs the forces of evil. I mean the shows been over for a while now.
Chapter 1: The First Meeting Towards One's Path
The Butterfly Kingdom, one of the most prominent and well known Kingdoms throughout all of Mewni. However; during recent events the Kingdom was close to utter obliteration, due to the return and actions of an old foe of its Queen Moon Butterfly, Toffee of Septarsis. However; thanks to the efforts of her daughter Princess Star Butterfly, her best friend Marco Diaz and a few others, her long time foe was defeated and the kingdom can now move forward.
A couple of weeks after the defeat of Toffee and some time to relax and forget everything else, it was time for Marco to return to earth. Star however had chosen to remain on Mewni. Saying that after the recent attack and almost destruction of the kingdom, she wanted to become a better princess. After Marco's departure, several events had taken place. From Glossaryck's revival and return of former Queen Eclipsa Butterfly to Star's plans for a Mewman and Monster accord and getting back together with Prince Tom Lucitor.
Meanwhile back on earth, Marco had not completely 'returned' from his adventures on Mewni. While he had physically returned to his life back on earth; his mind had not and it had begun to create a rift between him and a few of his friends and family. This was made evident when while on a date with his girlfriend Jackie Lynn Thomas, she had revealed that he was still wearing the knight's cape that Star's father, King River had given to him before he left Mewni. Realizing where Marco's mind and heart were (wink, wink), Jackie ultimately decides to break up with Marco so that they both could avoid being miserable down the line. However, Jackie tells Marco to "Stay amazing" as she rides off on her skateboard.
The following day, Marco decides to return to Mewni. After mending the bonds with his friends and family, Marco cuts open a portal and heads to where Star is waiting.
But a few days prior to Marco's return to earth, two individuals wearing tanned hooded-cloaks were already in the kingdom assisting in the repairs and helping the kingdom's people get back on their feet.
One was about 6.6 ft. (1.98m) tall while the other was around 164 cm (5 ft. 5 in). They were currently helping in rebuilding the houses that were destroyed or severely damaged.
"So, I just place this load of straw on top of the house like this then?" The taller hooded figure asked in a clearly young-teenage girl's voice to her shorter companion.
"Yeah, that's what the owner asked for." The shorter hooded figure answered in a young male's voice. "After that we have about four other place to help out at, then that should be it for the day."
"Just four more? Are you sure no one else needed help around here?" the hooded girl asked as her arms surprisingly stretched up and carefully placed the hay roof on the brick house. "I mean this place still kind of looks like it's in pretty bad shape to me."
"I asked the same thing. But the people here said that they can take care of the rest. Said they didn't want to take up anymore of our time with their issues." The male said as he shrugged his shoulders.
"I don't mind really. I mean we got here a lot earlier than you thought we would." The female said as she retraced her arms. "But how come you wanted to wait for when we go see the king and queen of this place?"
"Well, let's just say…" the male starts before looking up at Butterfly Castle before continuing, "I'm looking for the right moment is all."
"Seriously?"
"Yep. Just trust me on this one, kay?" the male said as he started walking to the next area where they were asked to help.
"Alright. Not like you've given me any reason not to trust you." The female said as she followed after her friend to the next place to help before realizing something. "Hold on, shouldn't we wait for the owner to come back first?" she asked.
"… right. Ha-ha, nearly forgot." He said chuckling nervously as he turned back around.
"Haha; you know for someone who's supposed to be a legend, you act pretty much like a regular old person."
"Well that's a relief. For a second there I thought I came off as too intimidating and imposing." The male said jokingly with his hands behind his head. "But speaking honestly here, I want to wait for the right moment when everything falls into place. If I just went ahead and rushed this, who knows how badly this could end up."
"Okay, I can understand that." The female said. "So how long do you plan on us waiting then?"
"Oh, not long." He said leaning against the house they finished repairing. "I think about 4 to 6 days give or take."
"Hmm, do we have a place to stay for that long?"
"One of the locals here said he's willing to let us stay at his place for as long as we need." He explained as his friend nodded her head in understanding. "He doesn't live too far from the kingdom, so it's not a problem. Oh, just one thing though."
"What's that?"
"You don't mind the fact of sharing a room with his kids, right?"
"No, why would I mind?"
"No reason, just needed to ask is all." He said as the two saw the home owner approaching. 'Given that she's a teen I don't know how well she'd take to spending the next couple of days in a swamp house with a humanoid frogman and his tadpole kids.'
As the days went by, the two continued to help where they could with rebuilding the kingdom while also observing what Star was doing during her return as it's Princess. They would sometimes see her in the town's market place along with her boyfriend Tom Lucitor, but it was usually either to hangout or act all lovey dovey.
One day while the hooded figures were helping tend to one of the town's people's livestock of piggoats, the male said he was going to go get more supplies the owner had requested for. So asked his companion to keep an eye on everything while he was gone. That didn't work out as after 10 minutes of him leaving; one of the piggoats got loose, forcing her to chase after it through part of the town. Thankfully, someone managed to stop and catch it for her. But unfortunately; as if by some amount of chance or bad luck, the person who caught the run away was none other than Princess Star herself.
'Oh no, you've got to be kidding me here.' She thought in a panic as she saw Star and Tom make their way over to her while riding the captured creature.
"Excuse us," Star said as she and Tom hopped off, "I think this big fella got away from you, didn't he?"
"Umm, yeah. T-Thank you very much for catching him." She says while effortlessly picking up the large animal and noticed Star and Tom's astounded face. "Is everything okay with you two?"
"OH! Yeah! Everything's alright." Star said. "It's just your… you're really strong, aren't you? I mean this piggoat here is actually the one that won first place in the kingdom's heaviest piggoat contest last year." She explained.
"Whoa, seriously." Tom said shocked. "So if you could lift this guy up no sweat, then you must be crazy strong lady."
"Umm, thank you very much for the compliments. But I really need to get this guy back to his owner now. So good bye." She said speed walking away, leaving the two royal teens perplexed.
"That was… defiantly something." Tom said. "She seemed kind of weird huh?"
"Yeah, she was. But I kind of think it's a cool kind of weird." Star said. "Maybe we'll run into her again someday."
"Well she looked like a traveler Star, so maybe she's just hanging around the kingdom for a bit to help after everything that happened. So she could come back if she feels like it." Tom explained.
"Yeah. I… kind of hope I do run into her again." Star said. "I have a feeling she might know someone that could be a lot of fun or exciting."
Later after she came back to the owner's barn with her oversized escapee, she found her friend waiting for her. So she explained what had happened and how she had run into the princess and her boyfriend. However, she wasn't expecting him to start falling over himself while laughing at how close she came to accidentally blowing their cover.
"S-So, you nearly got our cover blown, by chasing after the winner of fattest farm animal in this kingdom! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Oh man, that is too rich! HAHA!" He said in between his laughing.
"It's not funny," she mumbled placing her run away back in the pen with the rest, "I seriously thought I had messed up when I ran into the princess like that. What if I came off as suspicious?"
"Ha, alright, alright. I hear you." He said picking himself up. "She didn't see your face though; she just saw your strength. So she more than likely thinks your this super strong traveler is all. If anything, this will make meeting with her and her parents all the smoother." He said dusting himself off.
"What makes you think that?" She asked.
"Because today's the day we go meet them." He said, "So it helps that you might have impressed her a little.
"…. What!?" She shouted. "We're meeting them today!? Why didn't you tell me!?"
"You never asked me." He said grinning. "Also the timing happens to be good. Because a certain something or in this case someone is going to be appearing at the castle before us. And I'd also like to meet with them as well."
"Huh? Who?"
"You'll see once we get there. Now come on." He said leading her to the castle. "Also I let our host know that we won't be coming back and thanked him for letting us stay at his place. Oh and I left a note the farmer here." He said as his friend caught up with him.
'Now then, let's see what I'll be working with here.'
After about an hour in half of walking and making sure they looked presentable, the two stood in front of the castle gates where they see two guard standing on both sides. As soon as the two approached the gate, the guards blocked their path with their spears.
"Hold it you two," the guard on the right said, "unless you have an audience with the Queen we cannot let you enter the castle."
"Figures." The hooded male said scratching the back of his head. "My apologies good knights, but I'm afraid I forgot to mention to the dear Queen Butterfly about my visit today." He said producing a letter from his cloak to show the knights.
"That's a letter from Queen Moon herself?" the knight on the left asked. "M-May we see it, just to make sure it's real?"
"Of course, here." The hooded said giving them the letter to check.
After about a minute or so of checking, both knights nodded their heads in conformation.
"This is defiantly a real letter from Queen Moon alright." The knight on the left said. "You both may enter. The throne room is straight ahead, down a long corridor." He said.
"Yeah but, the queen and king are currently in the middle of discussing something with that person who showed up in Princess Star's room." The one on the right said. "I think Lady Whosits said the person was a friend of the Princess Star's and that King River had promised him he could become a knight."
"Hmm, you don't say." The hooded male said as he began to think about that. 'Just because the king said you could become a knight; doesn't mean it's not going to be a lot of hard work.' He thought.
After entering the castle, the two made their way down the long corridor towards the throne room. As they were walking, the female decides to ask her friend something.
"Okay, spill it. Was that a real letter from the Queen or?"
"Nope, a convincing fake." He said cleverly. "I used something I picked up on my travels to mimic the Queen's handing writing to make it."
"Where'd you even learn that? And when did you ever see the queen's hand writing?"
"That… is my little secret." He said teasingly. "Anyway from what those two at the gate said, looks like we're right on time."
"On time?" she asked confused. "On time for what?"
"On time – " he stared to say as he pulled down his hood revealing his face. He looked fairly young, about the age of 18. He had long red hair that spiked up at the top went down before stopping at his lower back with a black streak. He had three studs on his left ear, two red and one silver that dangled. His red eyes shinned with an excitement of what was going to happen. "to open someone's eyes to what their truly capable of".
A/N: Well here's chapter 1 for you guys. You can tell that El and Jenny were actually in the kingdom already helping the citizen rebuild after the whole Toffee and Ludo takeover. Now as you could see that I gave a little 'overview' I guess, of what happened during Star's return to Mewni. I also wanted to show that El has the 'A knight is not just a sword and shield to the king and queen, but also a helpful hand to the the people' mentality. The same mentality Marco and the others will eventually inherit.
Not sure what else to say, I guess just read and tell me what you guys think of this little set up. But no negative crap, positive or helpful would be nice, okay?
Cool, Later then! ;)
