According to Touya, you'd been out for two days. It came as a shock, but explained why your muscles hadn't ached from overusing your quirk; they'd had plenty of time to rest. While you were out, Touya had taken the liberty of caring for you. It was a sweet gesture, you thought, but the knowledge that he'd changed your clothes left you feeling flustered. You did try to voice your embarrassment to your friend, but he simply waved it off.

"You'd've done the same for me." He reasoned.

Thanks to your quick thinking, the burns you received from the car fire were minor, and, though they still caused some discomfort, were already starting to heal nicely. Your bloodstream, on the other hand, had been filled with venom. Turned out, the only reason Touya had taken you with him in the first place was that you'd been bitten by that nomu, and, without the antivenom he had on-hand, it could have proved fatal.

"Honestly, it's probably a good thing that you passed out the way you did. All that moving around would've just killed you faster." Touya noted.

Apparently, the bite wound was doing much better. When he unwrapped it, he commented on how it was no longer "oozing puss", which, despite how gross it sounded, must be a good thing.

"It wasn't my intention to just straight-up kidnap you like that. Truthfully, I was content to just let sleeping dogs lie and treat you as I would any of the other heroes, but…" He paused in his explanation, but continued redressing your leg. You raised an eyebrow curiously.

"But…?" You pried, feeling a little downhearted at his comment.

"I don't know." He stated in a monotone voice. "I guess I just didn't wanna see you dead." He admitted somewhat reluctantly.

He moved on to your wrist, pulling at the bandages delicately. You winced as he reached the final layer. The white cottony linen stuck to and pulled at the blistered skin underneath. A hiss of air came from your mouth as you sucked in through gritted teeth. Once your wrist was free, you were able to see the extent of the damage. The skin that was left was discolored- a few shades darker than the surrounding area. As you turned your arm for a better look, you noted the scar was traced in the shape of a hand gripping you. The space where your watch had once been looked to be slightly less damaged but was still quite mangled.

"Sorry about that." Touya said. He must've noticed you staring. "I didn't know how to get that stupid thing off. Figured melting it would do the trick." You continued to gawk in awe at your burnt wrist, but it wasn't your new scar that had left you so speechless.

"I… had that thing on for six years." You mumbled. It was beginning to sink in. You started to chuckle softly, twisting your arm a little faster as the truth hit you. You weren't being tracked.

"Oh-ho my God! Stiller must be freaking out right now!" You laughed borderline hysterically. Touya smiled, but his eyes were concerned. You went on before he could comment: "Ha! Woah, wait, how did you know about the tracking device?"

"Oh, uh, I didn't. I just figured if you were coming with me, I wasn't taking any chances on electronics." He said, reaching into his pocket. "Shut this off too." He held your phone up to your face. You took it from his hands and pressed the power button.

"I don't think he can track it if I keep the location off." The screen lit up as it booted up. You squinted at the bright light as it illuminated your face. Touya was quiet for a few moments before speaking up.

"Who's Stiller?" He asked, breaking the silence. You looked up at him briefly before returning your attention to your phone.

"Hm? Oh, he's my guardian." You explained simply. Touya furrowed his brows.

"Guardian? (Y/N), you're an adult."

You shifted your eyes between him and the cell phone in your hands. "Yeah, well… it's a little complicated." The home screen finally popped up. "Damn, only thirty-two percent battery. I don't carry a charger on me."

Not a moment later, your phone began to violently buzz in your hand. The message tone echoed through the warehouse and you rushed to silence it. Text message after text message came flooding in so quickly that the ringtone didn't have time to finish before it was sounding off again. The notifications piled up on the screen. Most of the messages looked to be from Stiller, but it seemed Keigo was the runner-up. There were messages from Takakage and even one from Endeavor. In different words, they all asked the same things: "Where are you?", and "Are you safe?"

"I appreciate the concern, guys, but this is gonna kill my battery." You griped. Touya had been glancing over your shoulder at the screen as you skimmed through the messages. You heard him chortle a bit beside you.

"You have my dad's number? Pfft- Lame." He teased. "That Stiller guy sure seems worried about you." He mentioned. You couldn't help but note the hint of sarcasm in his voice.

"Eh, he's a good guy. Back home, he always had someone keeping an eye on me, but he hasn't really bothered me since we got here." You said. Touya raised his eyebrows.

"Hm. Interesting. Wait- what's that one say?" He asked, pointing at the screen. You turned back to the phone and looked over the message Touya was pointing to.

'Ah, shit.'

You sighed in annoyance. "I guess they've deployed a search party for me… two days ago." Touya reached over and held down the power button.

"Maybe it's best if we keep this off just in case. They can probably see if you read those messages." He said, gently slipping the phone from your hand. You nodded in agreement. Deep down, you knew you'd have to return to Stiller eventually, but you weren't worried about it at this very moment. Your head was still reeling from the realization that your dead best friend was actually alive. You smiled again at the thought and silently prayed that the nomu bite hadn't caused you to hallucinate this whole scenario.

"God, Touya, I just… Gosh, how even… ugh." You struggled to find the words you were looking for. With a million different thoughts zooming around your head at lightspeed, it was hard to land on just one. Touya gave your shoulder a squeeze.

"You have questions, I get it." He said. You nodded but kept your gaze to the floor for the most part.

'A villain? Is that really what you are?' You wondered idly. Surprisingly, you felt no panic at the thought. Maybe it was because it was Touya, but you felt no fear. In a matter of minutes, the villain Dabi had gone from your most hated enemy, to your most treasured friend. It was difficult for you to wrap your brain around the truth.

'I can ask him about that later. I'm sure he can clear things up.' You drew in a deep breath and prepared your onslaught on questions. Before you could get one out, though, Touya stopped you.

"First, though…" He chuckled lightly. "...we need to get you fed. You haven't eaten in at least two days, and your body needs fuel." He stated, poking your belly. You could feel it more now that the adrenaline had begun to wear off: your body was shaky, and your empty stomach ached. You pouted as you remembered the food you'd dropped when you flew off to fight the nomu.

"Right." You sighed. "I don't suppose you've got a kitchen somewhere in here."

"Nope." Touya said plainly, walking away from you to the crate he'd been seated on earlier. "We're going out tonight. It seems like you're walking around alright, but I can help if you need." One by one, he pulled out different articles of clothing: some long pants and an oversized jacket, as well as a pair of warm-looking boots and socks. "It's pretty cold out. You can use these." He tossed the garments on the table beside you, and you slowly slid off your perch and onto the ground. You held the jacket up for a better look. It was just a plain black zip-up winter coat, just a couple of shades lighter than Touya's. It was fairly long, though- it would likely reach your mid-thigh once you put it on.

'This might be a little cumbersome…'

"Where's my hero suit? It's thermoregulatory, I can just wear that." You asked, placing the jacket back on the table.

"Oh, I threw it out." He admitted dryly as he switched his long leather trench coat for another dark winter jacket.

"What?! Why?"

Touya chuckled. "Because it was charbroiled. You really don't remember a thing, do you? Part of it had literally melted to your skin; take a closer look at your arms, I had to pry it off of you. The first aid stuff in your belt turned out to be somewhat useful, though. Besides, if half the country is out looking for you, it's probably best if you don't look like you."

You frowned and let out a childish whine. "Dang it. That was my first hero suit- well, second, technically. Whatever, I was real excited about it."

Touya looked puzzled. "Your first one? Aren't you a hero? Why would that be your first one?"

You rubbed the back of your neck awkwardly. "Ah, yeah, I don't really work as a hero in America. It's…complicated." You weren't sure where to start. It'd be a bit difficult to explain why you weren't doing the thing you'd been training so hard for the last fourteen years when you didn't even really know.

Touya huffed. "Seems like a lot of things are 'complicated.'"

You gave him a soft smile. "I'll do my best to explain what I can. Let me just get dressed first."

"Mm. Alright." He agreed. You took hold of the top of your shorts and were about to pull them down when you noticed Touya was still looking at you. You paused.

"Uh…" You began.

"Hm?" Touya hummed, raising his eyebrows in genuine curiosity.

"Do you think you could turn around?" You asked politely.

Touya's expression was blank. "Uh, (Y/N), you do realize I literally stripped you earlier…"

You scoffed. You hated how he worded that. You made a face before retorting: "Yeah, but now that I'm conscious, I think I'd like a little privacy."

Touya scoffed right back at you. "Seriously?"

You nodded and used your index finger to drop a lop-sided circle in the air, silently commanding him to turn around. Touya rolled his eyes but smiled as he lifted his hand to cover his eyes and look away. Feeling satisfied, you undressed and threw on the clothes he'd given you.

"Okay, you can look now." You called as you walked to him. Touya turned back around and looked you over. He took your jacket's zipper in his fingers and pulled it the rest of the way up. The coat's collar was a lot bigger than you'd anticipated. Now that it was zipped up, it reached just below your chin. It was a bit uncomfortable at first, and you lifted your face to avoid contact with it.

"I know it's annoying,..." He said, pulling the hood over your head. "...but it's better if you keep this up. You went and made somewhat of a name for yourself, so the less of your face people can see, the better. Here." Touya reached into his pocket and pulled out a cloth facemask. "Put this on, too."

You took it from his hands and hooked the fabric loops around your ears. Touya zipped up his own coat and took a pair of sunglasses from the crate. "Alright, then." He remarked, making his way to the large garage door. "Let's head out." He grabbed hold of a large chain that was pulled taut between two large wheels in a pulley system. He gave it a strong tug and the garage door lifted with a loud creeaak. You cringed at the harsh noise. Touya motioned under the door with his free arm.

"After you." He yielded. You gave a small nod and ducked under the short clearing he'd left. He followed right behind you and didn't bother closing the door.

"What if someone breaks in while you're gone?" You wondered. Though his face was mostly covered, you could tell Touya's expression remained bored.

"It's their funeral." He said monotonically. You giggled at first, finding his comment rather amusing, but couldn't deny that the lack of emotion in his tone was off-putting. Sensing your sudden discomfort, Touya gave you a soft smile and offered you his arm. "Come on, let's get you something to eat."

You took hold of him happily, and the two of you started down the street. "Hey, Touya… thank you. Y'know for taking care of me and stuff."

You felt him squeeze your arm lightly. "That's what friends do."

You glanced up at an almost cloudless sky. It bore an orange hue. Street lamps began to flicker on one by one. The cold air was soothing against the parts of your burnt skin that were exposed to it. More than once, you found yourself staring down at your's and Touya's interlocked shadows, elongated by the setting sun. You'd walked with him like this many times before, but felt you wouldn't be able to stop shaking any time soon.
