Emma sighs heavily, "I feel guilty as hell about all of this, Logan, and yes, it will be painful and hard, but admitting the truth on her own, it's part of facing her past and moving on. Yes, everyone will know her by the end of the trial, but it's necessary to be through and through in the trial, no shortcuts...", with a weary look, "But she isn't alone as I retrieved her family to be here to support her, and Brad's with her.".
"I hope Tony is going to be kept as far away from everyone. I mean, Bob's here and I still remember those scenes with Gilbert and Mirage... we'd be broadcasting a murder.", Logan reminded her about one of the darker moments from The Incredibles.
Emma replied, "Don't worry, even after I heard Eric's order to put him in heavy chains, he's now contained in a glass cage with air holes, thanks to Jason's conjuring. And Bob is not super strong, but still strong enough to slam his body at the glass if he wanted to, but he's warned extremely not to do anything physical for the sake of his daughter...Even being triplets, Violet is like their first baby.".
Logan nodded, "Ah, right. Different world, different powers.", and Emma smiled, and looked at the clock, "It's 8 o' clock, let's get ready for the 'courtroom', I am sure some in the village of Zaren is itching to volunteer for the witness part while the rest of them will have to settle for the mirror-tv in the downtown arena.".
"Maybe... right now, I'm thinking of the end of this and what exactly Eric will have to sentence Tony for. Death, probably for sure, but who knows what they might do. So close to the ocean and all, maybe tie him to a ship and sink it.", Logan said.
"Let's leave that to Eric and the others, we just need to help give our support to Brad and Violet with the difficult moment as well as making sure nothing goes wrong.", Emma replied sharply and determinedly.
Logan nodded, "You got it, chief.", and they split out as they headed off to do their parts; Emma, to ask for some witness volunteers from town, and Logan, to check with the staff in setting up the 'courtroom'.
With Jason helping to conjure up floating wheelchairs for Brad and Violet as they still need rest, not allowed to walk yet they can use the bathroom while having assistance, and Haku close by them to make sure they are all good, no panic attacks and such through the trial. Pippa is checking with the dungeon guards to make sure Tony is all secured and all.
"How is he?", Pippa asked as one of the guards nodded. "Still locked up tight, have a guard watching him every second just in case he tries anything. Shouldn't break out, but we can't be too careful. Made the mistake once or twice during the war.", the guard answered.
Pippa nodded, "Good to know. 15 minutes before 9, he must be brought up to the glass cage, chained to his seat. Clear?", and another guard bowed his head, "It shall be done, Lady Pippa.".
Pippa smiled, "Good.", before heading down the hallway to stand beside the next door to wait. And much later, in exact orders, Pippa saw Tony contained in a square of guards, chained tightly, marching, and Pippa nodded, leaded the way upstairs to the 'courtroom', and instantly, with many people sitting on the benches and all, they never left Tony, watching with anger and intense disgust as he was pushed and put into the glass cage, his chains now configured to his seat.
He had been under a silencing charm almost all the night and morning as his screams kept putting the guards off their sleeping shifts. He has been glaring, scowling, and many other emotions he could show, and now with seeing so many people looking at him, he felt like a prowling lion mixed with a cowering mouse.
"I wonder if he realizes how screwed he is.", Logan whispered to Emma as she nodded. "He must know that his other actions have been found out by now. Especially with all.", Emma said as she motioned around with her hand
Logan snorted, "Emma, word spreads fast when it wants to be...Heck, it's like the Hogwarts gossip.", and Emma nodded, looking up to check the several mirrors high on the walls, linked by magic to the mirrors outside in all kingdoms, heck, even King Triton tricked up a crystal-mirror in his kingdom as well.
Emma prays to hope that the merpeople understands that this is a trial of justice and all, even if it's on land. She then saw Jason and Haku assisting Brad and Violet in their magical wheelchairs, getting to their table. She then sees Zuri assisting Ariel to their wall-side throne chairs, knowing Eric is the judge and king in his high throne/judge chair for today.
On the front of the benches is Brad and Violet's families, accompanied soon by the rest of the team after they finished. At a minute before 9, Eric walks in, and all everybody rose up in respect and tradition, looking like he's truly an imposing sight.
Grimsby then nods at Emma as the clock ticks to the dot, and Emma speaks the code word to turn all the mirrors on, "Legit.", and instantly, all the mirrors turned on. The kings and queens bow their heads to Eric who nods, and sits down, with the crowds on the benches sitting down a second later.
Eric nods to Grimsby who clears his throat, "Today, on the day of Thursday, the 22nd of the year 900, two days before Thanksgiving, we are presenting a case. Tony Rydinger vs Violet Parr. King Eric Wilson is presenting as judge. As High Inquisitor, I must advise to keep your voices low during the entire case, and if it goes to noon, a break for lunch is advised, but if not, the sentence will be then set before noon. Do your majesties agree?", looking at the mirrors of the main kingdom throne rooms.
"Yes.", all chorused in agreement, and Grimsby nodded, "I now give the floor to the judge.". Eric replied, "I now ask Lady Emma to come forward and present all the evidence from yesterday and today, please.".
"Good luck.", Logan whispered. "Thanks, I'm gonna need it.", Emma whispered right back. Emma honestly felt a bit uncomfortable with the situation as she essentially was in the role of the prosecution; a role that she never really had done before. At least here it was just presenting what had happened.
She looked up at Cair Paravel's mirror, and saw John giving her a nod, and her dad giving her a thumbs up. Emma smiled, feeling a bit better, and took a deep breath as she got up and walked past the table, nodding at Brad and Violet with a supportive smile.
"People of Enchantia, on the day of Wednesday yesterday, around perhaps 3 pm, the town of Zaren was disturbed with a public fight. Tony Rydinger was seen arguing with Violet Parr, bringing attention to them, including Brad Fischer. Tony then hit Violet, causing her to fall to the ground, causing Brad to run to her side. Tony then told Brad to mind his own business, and Brad didn't want to leave Violet in a state to have Tony hurt her more, telling him to leave them alone.".
"Tony then decided to attack Brad, nearly killing him on several attempts as Violet woke up, and tried to save Brad by fighting Tony, and after another infliction of wounds, Tony was aiming to attack or kill her when I and my team came in, stopping it altogether. Brad and Violet were brought here to the palace to be healed by Healer Haku, a teammate of mine while Tony was put in the dungeons as his griffin form was removed forever, never to claw or bite anyone anymore.", Emma finished with a nod.
Many voices murmured in shock and wonder, and Eric held up a hand for them to quiet down, and then asked, "How many attempts of murder would you say?". Emma replied, "At least three, Your Worship. Healer Haku has proof of all the injuries and wounds from the fight, and the victims themselves, Brad and Violet, they are healing still, but here to face all what has happened.".
Eric nodded, and replied, "You may return to your seat, Lady Emma. Sir Jason Fa-Valkara, will you remove the silencing charm, please?".
Jason gave a bit of a hesitant look as Eric nodded, "I will remind Tony Rydinger that he shall remain silent unless he is asked a question. Any outbursts and he will be silenced again.". Jason felt a bit more comfortable in hearing that from Eric, since his hesitation was worried about Tony flying into an outburst; especially for Violet's case in hearing what probably hateful things he had planned to say to her through the night. Jason sighed before he did what was asked and dropped the silencing charm.
Eric looked at Tony straight with a neutral look, "For the sake of the other kingdoms, I ask you, Tony Rydinger, what is your relationship with Violet Parr?".
Tony said nothing for a few moments before he finally spoke in an annoyed tone. "Betrothed to each other.", he answered. "That's our relationship.".
The mirrors murmur, and Eric allows them a moment before holding up a hand again, and speaks, "As we all know, betrothals are like contracts between families, so I will not imply that right now. Now, Tony Rydinger, Violet Parr has stayed with you for how long?".
Tony exhales with a mutter, "Three months.", looking even more annoyed already. Eric narrowed his eyes before speaking, "Do you know the reason of Violet coming to Zaren besides the betrothal?".
Tony scoffed, "To seek for a job to apprentice under, but she's pathetic in cooking and sewing, and don't even get me on her unusual hobby to try strange things. Digging in her griffin form to hunt dumb badgers, stripping half-nude to soak in mud and kelp, and now playing a stupid shooting game with that man, cheating on me as she was kissing, getting on with him!".
"I remind the defendant to only answer what has been asked, not to add more than that.", Eric said as he quickly had Tony stopped mid rant.
Tony scowled, nodding, and Eric then asked, "One last question, Tony Rydinger. Why did you decide to attack Brad Fischer when he isn't a shapeshifter or even a soldier? You would have walked away easily.".
"How would you feel if you saw one of your wives cheating on you with some random stranger?", Tony quickly countered. The argument certainly made a bit of sense in a way, though his actions were completely unjustifiable in terms of attacking Brad and Violet.
Eric raised an eyebrow, "It's none of your business, but if you must know, I would have asked my wives in a polite way to ask if that somebody was a relative, or even an old family friend, and I would understand for I want them to be happy, not scared.".
Ariel and Zuri smiled proudly, agreeing with their husband on that. They aren't ones to hold secrets, after all, unlike Tony.
Many other people murmured in agreement. Eric then turned his attention to the benches and table, "Now, I must ask Brad Fischer to come forward with his account of the fight.".
Brad took a deep breath before he was to come forward in the wheelchair since he was still healing. Brad looked over to Emma as well as his family who were giving him confidence-raising looks. He took another deep breath as he got ready for anything that would be asked of him.
Eric gave him a tiny reassuring smile, and then spoke, "For the sake of the other kingdoms, what is your relationship with Violet Parr?".
Brad exhaled, "She and I became friends when we accidently collided into each other at one stall in the marketplace. I only had recently arrived with the help of my only cousin, Emma Silver nee Fischer, and I was exploring town. That first day, after talking for hours, I felt like we were old friends already, and I eventually became her teacher in a game I introduced her to. I confess I was falling in love with her through the past few days, and yesterday, it all changed. She has replied that Tony haven't said anything about not seeing other people, and she figured it was a loophole as she kissed me, and I returned the kiss. The relationship changed from us being friends to courting each other somewhat as we agreed to take things slow yet to be together during our recovery.".
"Said recovery since last night, correct?", Eric asked, looking at him. Brad nodded, "That's correct, your majesty.".
"I see. And the offending day in question?", Eric then nodded before asking once more, a neutral if curious look on his face.
"About what happened? Mostly, I was playing the game I was teaching with her, it's called Basketball, popular where I come from... and one thing sort of led to another as we played before we kissed. And Tony was apparently watching us when it happened.", Brad replied.
Eric replied, "Tell of what happened in your eyes, Brad Fischer, so the kingdoms would know how this fight came to fruition.".
"Well, we parted ways after the kiss, but only a short moment later, I heard Violet in trouble and ran to her and found Tony assaulting her. I rushed in to try and help her... but didn't stand much of a chance thanks to his griffin form.", Brad said.
Eric nodded, "To all the kingdoms, I have citied a rule in my village that no shapeshifter is to inflict a fight in their animal forms otherwise the village would have been subjected to witnessing such sights including the children, and yet Tony Rydinger ignored the rule and attacked Brad Fischer.".
Gasps and murmurs rang around, and Eric then continued on, "I have heard reports that many parents had to reassure their children, and the healers of the village had to give calming potions to both parents and children after witnessing such a sight of a griffin attacking a human. Tony Rydinger would have chosen to stay human and fought Brad, earning less injuries or easily stopped by Violet, or left them all alone, but with being a griffin shapeshifter, he chose to attack Brad Fischer who isn't a shapeshifter of any kind, a magician, or even a soldier. He was only a guest resident of my palace, a temporary resident of Zaren, and a person who is looking to be apprenticed under something of his interests or be a master of his favorite game, basketball, to mentor people who wanted to learn how to play.".
Eric turned his attention back to Brad, "Anything else you wish to add to the incident?".
"Not much, mostly was trying to defend Violet before I probably fell unconscious from my wounds as he tried to tear me apart. According to Haku, uh, that is, our healer, apparently, Violet shifted into a griffin and fought Tony a little bit in which may have saved my life.", Brad said.
Eric nodded, "Good. You may go resume your seat, Brad Fischer.", and Brad bowed his head in respect, and headed back to the table to sit beside Violet, smiling at her reassuringly as he squeezed her hand.
Eric then called out, "Healer Haku Teika, please come forward and give your account of all the inflicted injuries and wounds, so the other kingdoms will know of what Tony Rydinger's actions have done.".
"Well, I'll start with Brad Fischer's then move to Violet Parr's.", Haku cleared his throat as he looked at the parchment where he wrote the injuries down. "He had three sprained ribs, a broken shoulder, a splintered hand, a sprained ankle, and a broken nose, along with a split lip, bruised eyes, cuts on his chest, arms, and legs, and a bruised part of his reproductive system.", Haku had a bit of issue saying that last bit as it was no less painful to read.
"And then there was Violet Parr's injuries. If it's alright with you, your majesty, I'd rather simply say the injuries she had during the fight as opposed to any others at this moment. ", Haku continued.
Eric blinked at him, and then nodded, "Permission granted.", knowing why Haku had wanted to stay with the present wounds for now.
Haku gave him a tiny smile in thanks, and then spoke, "Violet Parr had a broken arm, bruise on her cheek, cuts on her arms and legs, and a broken couple of fingers. The bruise on the cheek was the first injury inflicted, and it was the same one Brad Fischer saw Tony inflicting on her.".
Eric spoke, "And how much longer do they need to recover, Healer Haku?", and Haku replied, "At least a few days, your Worship. They would need potions and balms to keep healing.".
"I see. Thank you for explaining, Healer Haku. You may now resume your seat.", Eric nodded, and spoke, "I now call Violet Parr to come forward, please.".
Now it was Violet's turn to sigh and get ready as she was rolled up into position. Her eyes weren't on her family or Brad though, but still staring at Tony's as she was obviously still in mental anguish from his actions.
Eric looked equally at Violet, "For the sake of the other kingdoms, I now ask you, Violet Parr, of your relationship with Tony Rydinger.", causing Violet to move her eyes away from Tony to look at Eric.
