Louise marched back to her room, slamming it behind her as she walked in, and subsequently locking it, before collapsing on her bed, the night's emotions reaching her head, her heart having experienced them far sooner.

Of course her familiar was a mage, why wouldn't he be!? First, she summoned nothing impressive, and had to go through with the binding ceremony; and THEN said familiar is showing her up as a mage, being able to cast lightning of all things. Which was… mildly impressive, she had to admit.

However the fact she knew it was impressive frustrated her even further.

Thrusting her face deep within the confines of her pillow, she groaned and moaned in frustration, before such sounds turned into angered screams of pain and exhaustion.

Her shouts turned into cries, and her cries to sobs.

She had finally had the chance to show everyone what she was made of! But… it was promptly ruined by their discovery of her summon. First it was a peasant, now, it was a mage much more talented than her.

A part of her hoped that meant she too had great potential for magic, summons were supposed to reflect you…

But pessimism and depression kicked the thought from her before she could fathom the possibility. Life had never given her a break, why would it start now?

As her sobs began to die down, she began to think… slightly more clearly, true clarity being far from reach in her emotional state. But there was something that stood out to her…

She had still.. She had still completed the summoning ritual and binding ceremony.

She had completed a spell without fail.

Well. Mostly anywho, the explosion and ensuing human summon could technically be counted as a failure. But! She had still managed it, she needed to be optimistic, she needed to be strong.

She would be a mage of renown yet, and casting her first spell was a cause for celebration…, and apologies where they were due.

On the other end of shocking discoveries was one Izaneus Phortea.

Who was being escorted through campus at the behest of the some character named "Guiche", which sounded pompous, despite Iza's clear ineptitude with social interaction, given his wand… the mannerisms he displayed when levitating Iza into the air…

He figured he wasn't that far off the mark.

This, and previous events in mind, he held a fairly upset expression as he was led through school grounds, first through the main halls, all the way back to the dorms he first ran through due to his emotions getting the better of him. It seemed to he a common occurrence recently if he truly saw the "destroyer of books"-

(As he so elegantly labeled Louise, not yet aware of her name.)

-Run in the same direction Izaneus and Guiche were heading now.

"What's with her? The… pink haired girl." He nearly stuttered as he spoke. Mildly embarrassed of his little nickname for the mage.

"I'm… assuming you mean Louise, she's your summoner, and… Recent events in mind. I have.. Some form of understanding of what's going on in her head.. Even she is sometimes readable." He commented, implying most of time she wasn't.

At least, that was how Izaneus viewed his words.

"Is she always as… accusatory as she was when I awoke?" Iza questioned, trying to find the correct words. Long since calmed down from his original awakening. To some modicum anyway. He still felt a great deal of depression pick away at his being, knowing the destroyed remains of his father's gift to him sat tightly at his waist. Being kept to his side by way of a basic latching spell.

"Unfortunately; though I've no insight to her thoughts, one can assume she holds a great deal of spite within her."

As Guiche spoke, they neared louise's dorm, where the blonde inhaled a deep breath, before stepping in front of Izaneus, stopping their movement.

"I'm sorry to stop us here but I simply need to say this-" He began taking another deep breath.

"As a fellow nobleman, I sincerely apologize. Had I known you were a mage I wouldn't have tried to slight you like I had, please, accept my humble apology." He ended, bowing his head ever so slightly.

Something that shocked Iza. But he brushed his shock aside. Feeling horrid he had judged the man so soon. He wasn't sure he would have apologized if it were the other way around… that was just one more thing to work on.

"Ah! No! You needn't apologize! misunderstandings are fluttering about tonight, I'm simply glad we're able to make sense of it all.."

His response brought a look of relief to the rose mage's face. Despite the fact that he only felt comfortable apologizing because it was just the two of them. Guiche felt genuinely upset he needlessly caused someone inconvenience.

What he thought was a favor to a fellow noble ended in him encouraging the disfavor of another.

After all, a commoner would have been simply too delighted to be servant to even one such as Louise, to think of running away.

Izaneus however, was beginning to connect pieces of information into what type of world he had landed in.

The first tidbit was that yes, this was a separate world from his own. The second celestial body floating around in the star filled abyss above made this evidently clear.

The second, was that this seemed to be an Aristocracy. Which…

He could.. Technically say he was a noble.

His family was, long ago, before… incidents, had occurred.

But that was besides the point. He would prepare himself to bluff his title should the need arise. But.

For now… he had a.. "Master" to greet.

Arriving at Louise's dorm not far from their conversation, Izaneus gave the blonde a fond smile, before bidding him farewell for the evening.

As Guiche left his line of sight he sighed. Looking at the door with a fervent desire to sleep outside. But he needed to clear the air. Louise seemed distressed.

And the previous event that had transpired was the fault of… well, Iza himself.

The fact of the matter, in Iza's perspective, was that he overreacted.

His book.. No matter how precious to him. Was just that. A book, he had acted like a child. Something he openly discouraged others from doing at home.

He was a hypocrite, and he regretted it. A bigger sigh escaped him as he reached for the door handle. One more thing to work on.

...

It was locked...

Hello again everyone!!

Welcome back, I'm super happy to see everyone enjoying this, and commenting their criticisms. As I've stated, I'm always willing to learn and grow.

I felt horrible leaving this alone for a couple weeks, so I decided to post another chapter as soon as I could.

Now! One thing!

To the commenter confused on why Izaneus ran away when accused of thievery.Yes, Izaneus could have simply proved her wrong by casting a spell. but he wasnt thinking correctly, he was emotional, horribly so. If he had stayed for any length of time. he may have lashed out in a way he regret, which is why he ran;

and your confusion is completely on me! I apologize for not conveying that correctly. I've had a bad habit of glancing over those types of details, and assuming the readers simply read my mind to understand the character's emotions.

I will strive to be more detailed in the characters thoughts and emotions. Thank you for your criticism!

I do believe that's it for now.

I have one thing to say, and that's thank you all.I'm an aspiring Author, and I want to make something amazing one day. To see so much as 8 people favorite this, and 11 follow it!? That's insane to me!!

I'm incredibly ecstatic that you all enjoy this. I hope you'll continue to as we go along. I know not a lot happened this chapter. but I'll do my absolute best to make the next one super exciting and fun!

As always, be sure to leave your thoughts and criticisms. I will always try and grow better than the day before!Until next time everybody!
