Chapter 11

Everyone was worried. "What happened to Bruno?!" "What happened to Melissa?!" "Were they together last night?" "What did they do?!" "What happened?" is all they could say. Alema then decided to pay a visit to the guest room. She then opened the door to find Bruno and Melissa fully clothed in bed.

Alema: Brunito!

Bruno: Ahhh!

Then he fell to the floor. He got up very irritated.

Alema: What the Hell are you doing?!

Bruno: Well mama, I was peacefully asleep.

Melissa was surprisingly still asleep, Bruno's heart melt when he saw her.

God, she's like a sweet angel when she sleeps.

Then without noticing as he turned to his mother, Melissa slowly woke up to Bruno's absence.

Bruno: (Whisper) Shh! Ma she's still asleep.

Alema: (whisper) Why are you sleeping with her?! Remember the deal!

Bruno: (Whisper) We didn't do anything ma', she's having a rough time, it's about her familia.

Alema was silent for a moment until Bruno pulled out the letter. She silently read the letter, and she started to feel guilty. Then Bruno noticed his mom's reaction.

Bruno: Are you ok Mama?

Alema: I may have judged her a lot since she's been here, and she does seem to help this familia in more ways than one.

Bruno: And.

Alema: And I think, she would make a great addition to this familia, and she's perfect for my Brunito.

Without warning, she slowly sat up not making a sound. Then she spoke up.

Melissa: Ya really like meh?!

Alema: You're a hard worker, you get along with most of the family and my grandchildren seem to like you, especially Maribel and little Antonio, everytime he sees you, he lightens up. and since you're going to be a part of this family, I have to start treating you like a daughter.

Melissa: Really?! Ah'I mean… Yay!

Then she hugged her excitedly. They were happy, Bruno was happy that his soon-to-be wife and his mom is finally getting along.

Alema: Well do we have a date for your wedding?

Bruno: Well we kinda thought maybe three months after Delores's wedding, sometime in October, she wants a fall wedding.

Alema: A fall wedding. Hum… that's wonderful, a perfect idea! It's not too hot, and it will give us enough time to plan a perfect wedding for you two. Oh, and Melissa you have to contact your family.

Melissa's face grew pale as she panicked.

Melissa: M-Mah f-family! A-ah'I don't know if M-mah family would come all the way to Columbia, they barely came ta the stuff that was closer ta home, but ta see meh get married forget about it. They'll probably have somethin' better ta do like, oh ah'I don't know, a friend's baby shower or a friend's dog's funeral.

Bruno: Aw, mei amor why would you say that.

Melissa: Because it happened before, but instead of a weddin' it was a grad party, now keep in mind Ah'I was her niece and she picked her friend's weddin', ah'I mean If she was worried, she could of either go to the weddin' first or my thing later or vice-versa, but They didn't show up ta mine and the hilarious part was it wasn't that far away, and then- and then she had the gaw ta complain about Joel's grad party being a bust while Ah'I was stupid enough ta help them. At least, Joel, had more people come to his grad party Ah'I hardly had anyone ta show, Ah'I mean Ah'I had mah great aunt hosting bless her soul, I had my uncle's friend Lee and his family, but no one from school came. And then she was like "Oh, I hope Joel's grad party won't end up like yours!" Ah'I was so shocked and appalled by this, Ah'I decided ta stop workin' and sat down.

Bruno and Alema: Aw, that's awful.

Bruno: At least you stood up for yourself.

Melissa: Well, not really because four years later we had mah younger cousin Hanah's grad party, the sad part was her's turned out 20 times better than Joel's, but his turned out 20 times better than mine. Like before Ah'I left ah'I saw less and less of mah sister, mah cousin Hanah and mah aunt. Well, at least mah uncle Jeff and mah cousin Joel visited a lot often. Then at this point, mah Aunt was MIA, and mah sister, ta be honest, sometimes Ah'I forgot that Ah'I ever had a sister sometimes. Though Ah'I misses her the most, her and mom.

She started to tear up as Bruno pulled her close.

Bruno: Shh, shh, shh. It's ok mei amor, it's ok we'll figure something out.

Melissa: Ok, thank ya.

Then for the first time, he got to kiss her, and for the first time, they felt pure bliss. Alema smiled slightly as she watch them kiss.

Alema: Ok love birds we need to start focusing on Delores's wedding.

Bruno and Melissa: Of course!

Alema: Good, good, oh, and breakfast is almost ready!

Bruno: Ok, mama.

He was about to get out the door until he stopped and turned to see her still standing near the bed.

Bruno: What's wrong mei amor?

Melissa: Oh, nothin' just thinkin'. Oh, Ah'I need ta feed dad! Ah'I was gonna feed him the other day but he showed meh that letter.

Bruno: Well, let's go then, my lady!

She giggled as he extended his hand to her, as she grabbed it tenderly. They made their way down to the kitchen. Everyone was so excited to see Bruno and Melissa again.

Julieta: Ah, I see you both are looking very happy, sleep well?

Bruno and Melissa: Very.

Felix: So, when are we going to hear wedding bells for you guys, eh?

Then Delores spoke.

Delores: I heard they told Abuela they wanted to get married three months after mine.

Julieta: That soon, are you sure?

Pepa: How do you feel about that mama?!

Alema: I think we can pull it off if she can contact her family and try to get them here before their wedding.

Melissa: Ah'I can try textin' them, but usually ah'I don't get anyone but mah mom, or mah sister, ah'I could call but it would be the same, ah'I could try facebook but it might take forever ta load.

She tried texting.

Then she got off the phone for a little bit and ate breakfast with Bruno and the rest of the family. After breakfast, Melissa and Bruno took some leftovers for her Father and her pets. She opened the door to find her dad sitting on the bed, and her pets made their way to greet her.

Melissa: Ok ya'll, soups on, breakfast is served.

She started with Hans the hedgehog, then the two dogs Itchy and Diablo, then chico the fat orange cat, and Pluto due to his one eye, he clumsily made his way over, then the Demon was hurt by this.

Demon: So, where's mine?

Melissa: Ah'I didn't forget about ya dad, here.

Demon: Did I ever say that you're my favorite daughter.

Melissa: Well don't let Ed hear ya.

Bruno: Is that really your sister's name?!

Melissa: No, it's a nickname Ah'I gave her though. We both have nicknames for each other like ah'I would call her Ed and she would call me Faye-Faye, ya should see the Anime that inspired it. Ah'I have it with meh right here.

Then she grabbed her small portable DVD player and the complete collection of Cowboy bebop the anime and placed it on the bed for all of them to see.

Demon and Bruno: So, what is it about?

Melissa: Well it's about space cowboys.

Demon and Bruno: Space cowboys?

The Demon pictured Cowboys up in space like star wars. While Bruno pictured male cows in space.

Demon: How do Cowboys and space have to do with each other?

Bruno: And what's a Bebop?

Demon: I think it's a type of music.

Melissa: No, no it's about a group of bounty hunters which are the cowboys, who go to different planets to catch the bad guys, the Bebop is their ship.

Demon: Are there any Alien creatures In this show or…

Melissa: Not really, unless ya count a seal-looking creature and this blob thin' that ya'll see in toys in the attic.

They said nothing.

Melissa: Ah'I admit that this show might start off kinda slow, and one of the main characters doesn't show up until episode 10. jammin' with Edward.

Then she put on the disc and played the first few episodes. Then by episode 5, lunch was prepared. Melissa and Bruno went down to lunch as they officially sat by each other as a couple. After lunch, Melissa thought about getting the materials to make Pepa's and Delores's earrings.

Melissa: So, does anyone knows where ah'I could find uh, craft store around here maybe?

Felix: Oh, Maribel practically lives at the craft store, if you let her, Maribel!

Then Maribel rushed into the kitchen.

Maribel: Si, Tio Felix?

Felix: Senorita Melissa wants to go to the craft store since you live there.

He said with a chuckle.

Melissa: If it's not taa much trouble. And it's ok ta live at a craft store, ah'I do taa.

Maribel: No no it's not, in fact, I might need more supplies myself.

Felix: Although you might want to take re-enforcements.

Melissa and Maribel: Ta a craft store?!

To a craft store?!

Felix: Si, sorry senorita Melissa, since you came into town you've been kind of a target for those weirdos. Antonio!

Then a flash came running into the kitchen almost knocking over Melissa with a koala hug.

Felix: Tonito can you and your jaguar friend help escort Melissa and Maribel to the craft store?

Antonio: Of course Papa.

Melissa: But a jaguar can't come into the store, what happens if the trouble starts inside, what then?

Felix: Well if that happens maybe we should have Luisa come with you too.

Then Bruno casually walked into the kitchen.

Bruno: Oh, you're still here honey, I thought you were going to the craft store?

Melissa: Oh, ah'I ah'm, it's just we came up with the problem that what if we ran into those guys again?

Bruno: At a craft store?!

Melissa: Yeah, but Felix said Ah'I might draw the attention of those weirdos we encountered before. Would ya like ta come, mah knight in shinin' armor?

Felix: Luisa!

Then in the distance, you can hear feet pounding on the ground. Then Luisa slid into the Kitchen.

Luisa: Si, Tio Felix?

Felix: Can you help escort Antonio, Senorita Melissa, your sister Maribel, and your Tio Bruno to the craft store.

Then they all left for the craft store.
