Chapter 3

It was a slow move to go to E-Rantel, for two reasons. One would be that he decided to rest for a day, more like laying in a cave and relaxing. The second being that Litzelot tested more of his abilities, just to discover that his spell worked just fine. He also managed to chase a few lumberjacks away, at least they didn't ruin his prank. It took him nearly ten days to move to the city. He prepared to move into the city. The bicorn needed to be safe and he switched his armor so that he wouldn't be recognised, because he saw a wagon with his kills and that assassin from far away enter the city.

When he tried to enter he had to pay a fee, which he did, and he then touristed the town. It was a beautiful city for his tastes with quite a few dark alleys. He then decided to stay for three days, so he could get a little bit more information about the adventurers, about history and deepen his political understanding of this so-called Re-Estice.

He walked into a cheap looking inn and got a room, even when the innkeeper told him that there were inns better suited to him, and a lot of glares. Most of the glares were full of envy. Once in his room, after throwing an adventurer with a gold plate around, which tried to make him fall, he decided to plan further. He decided that he would at the first day look around for the guild house and then ask questions about adventurers. He would then look for a pharmacist and a blacksmith, because Sir Litzelot needed money and if his inventory was something, it was full to the brim. On the second day he would look around and practice his sightseeing. On the third day he would prepare to leave the city.

As it was afternoon, Sir Litzelot started to kill time by looking in the market. While he didnt find something useful he heard quite a lot of gossip. He guessed that a big chunk of it was more or less useless. But he was sure that a Adamantine- plate team was called for dealing with something. Litzelot didn't know what it was about, but he didnt care. He also heard rumors about a royal tournament, and it was even at his final destination in around four weeks. "That could be interesting, funny and informative at once. I should look into it." thought Litzelot.

When he entered the inn he wanted to move to his room when someone blocked his path. "You bastard injured my comrade and now I can't do that quest we prepared for nearly a week. You will pay for it!", shouted the gold plate. Confused, Litzelot looked at him and said "He decided to attack my honor. If he were clever he would simply not try to trip people."

That enraged the goldplate and he punched Litzelot in the groin, which was without effect. The now angry Litzelot proceded to beat that gold plate to a pulp and simply spoke" it's rather impolite to not learn from your friends fate and it is even more impolite to attack someone. But what do I know right? And you know what is more inpolite than those both? hm? Hm? Not introducing yourself propper."

While that happened a quick thinking redhead had gotten the captain of the guard. When the captain entered he expected to see a noble that was beaten down. What he saw astonished him. There stood a tall man with full Gambeson and chainmail. The crest was unknown to him. Helmet was closed completely and therefore the face was not the armored man lay a combination of flesh and blood. The guards took the gold plate and the captain decided to talk with the armored guards, after taking the gold plate to a healer, talked with the witnesses. The Captain, who had goosebumps, talked with Litzelot

" so.. Let's start with your name, because I like to know the names of people that are strong enough to avoid them normally.".

"My name shall be known as Sir Litzelot, what would be your name?" Litzelot spoke, more on autopilot because of his confusion.

"It's Muller. Why did you beat him into his current condition?" The captain answered, since not doing so would be impolite and he saw the results a little while ago.

"He started by insulting me and then he punched me in the groin, which I saw as an attack, after which I beat him until he was in his current condition." Litzelot defended himself. The captain thought

" If I could, I would send him to the annual war. But neither do I have the political power nor the right to do so. I can't really hold him in a cell. He would simply beat himself free. But then he didn't seem like a berserker. Ah why does so much trouble come within such a short while.I should talk with Ainzach tomorrow". So Muller decided to let Litzelot go. He would talk to Ainzach, if Ainzach could compel him into becoming an adventurer the strength could be Litzelot was let go he walked to his room and continued learning what information he already had.

After a long night and at the crack of dawn Sir Litzelot decided to move out. The city is in the usual morning routine when Litzelot asks his way to the adventurer guild. Once he entered he saw. . . nobody except the receptionist, being a nice looking brunette with slender figure, should be able to answer Litzelots questions. He walked and stated

" Good morning young lady, may I ask a few questions about the adventurer guild?". Perplexed by such words the receptionist stated

"Of course mister?"

"Litzelot is my name and yours shall be?"

"Anna is my name. What questions would you like to ask?" asked Anna.

" I would like to know the ranking system of adventurers and what the job of adventurers entails." Litzelot answered. Anna described

" Adventurers take quests like hunting beasts or escorting a merchant. There are bronze, iron, silver, gold, mithril, orichialcum and adamantite. Through skill the individual can rise and fall in rank. The higher the rank the more difficult the quest the more pay. The adventurer guild keeps 20 percent of the pay for the work in the background. What else would you like to know?".

After the basics Litzelot asked more specific questions and took his time to understand adventurers and their mentality. After nearly three hours he tried to walk away, but was spotted by Muller and Ainzach. It took Litzelot a big amount of effort to get free of their clutches.

After he got away from Ainzach and Muller, Litzelot decided to go to a pharmacy. Whenever he asked for directions he would be sent to Miss Bareare. When he entered he heard a loud noise. After a short while an old woman appeared. She was short and looked like a nice old woman, wearing alchemist attire. When she walked to meet her customer she was seen rubbing her head.

" Hello, what can I do for you?" Miss Bareare asked. Litzelot took out a purple which could cure any illness and poison, and spoke

" I would like to know what their worth would be."

" I can get rid of those, how could I even take the ill or toxic effect?".

Miss Bareare appraised the items and nearly had a heart attack.

" I would buy them for 100 silver." Miss Bareare said, inwardly smiling evily because they had much more worth.

" I would sell 5 of them then." Litzelot said, still keeping the rest. With that Sir Litzelot had financed this tripp already. After that trade he went out again and walked to the blacksmiths. He had a lot of weapons, after looking through the junkyard that was his inventory he decided he would sell the not so good ones. In the end however he didn't even sell that much he only got 3 gold coins for the potions and four weapons. But the night was creeping in and Litzelot decided to go to his inn.

Muller and Ainzach were a little disappointed. When they saw Mr. Litzelot in the guild, they tried to encourage him to be an adventurer. Sadly he declined, because he had to travel. Even the aggressive flirting of the receptionist didn't help convince the man.

But there were still reports of the dullahan running around in the woods by Valdirne. A few Lumberjacks saw it and started to refer to it as Death's Champion. It was cringy for Ainzach, and his two friends against the undead. Pluton and Muller continued to prepare for Blue Roses and decided to help Rakeshir to get help from the priests. So they divided the work. Muller would prepare for blue roses' arrival tomorrow, while Ainzach would keep track of that dullahan and Rakeshir researched more about dullahan and local folklore and read through some copies of scriptures in the local tempel. After a long day at work with Muller and against paperwork Ainzach decided that he would look for tomorrow.

Blue roses, an adventure group of five women, was a small distance away from E-Rantel. Everyone among them was serious and prepared themselves for the coming battle. Since they got the letter and were new adamantites they wanted to prove their worth as such.

" Yo Shorty, do you know anything about that thing? I think it might help." Gagaran, their muscle packed tank in a red armor, shouted happily.

" Not for certain. If I had to guess it is a dullahan on a bicorn with extremely powerful spells and an enormous strength." Evileye, the rather short and masked caster of the team, answered.

"Evil boss and we don't know anything factual about dullahan. Can you tell us" Tina, with her twin sister being the assassin of the group, asked. Lakyus, The blond and light armor wearing leader of the group, meanwhile thought about the stories her family told her.

"Dullahan are sentient undead, like vampires and elder liches. It is also said that they carry their head and search for the condemned, or their next kill, depending on what you believe.

In some places such as Valdiren and Carne where they see dullahans as a personification of death. I personally never expected, and hoped that I would never, to fight one. When we engage it we should first look where we confront it and look for weaknesses in its armor. It will also be a long battle. Normally dullahans don't ride bicorns, that means this one has a lot of strength." Evileye declared.

"I once talked with grandpa and Rigrid. They talked about a dullahan. The dark night once was attacked by a dullahan named Sir Litzenlot. It also was hilarious according to them, because that dullahan only wanted to scare him" Lakyus reminecinded her childhood. Evileye also remembers her talk with the dark knight. If she believed him, that Litzelot was not only strong but was also seen as a prankster.

"Evil Boss, all ok or do you need something? You look happy", Tia asked. Lakyus simply says that she doesn't need anything. After a short while The group except Evileye slept. Evileye remembering her old knightley night would be quiet and the next morning Evileye was smiling underneath her mask.

When blue roses reached E-Rantel, Muller, Ainzach and Rakeshir were waiting for them. Once they settled them in the best inn the large group moved into the office of Ainzach, who started to retell the happenings and what they did till now. When Rakshire started to speak every member of blue roses was speechless. The brutality that was described was not unheard of, but could still turn your stomach.

" The spell's name was "Nifelheims Ferryman". If we believe the priest's scripture, Surshana had a crystal with that spell and had used it in battle. Instantly killing a dragonlord. If the dullahan can cast it like it is nothing you need to be extremely careful."

Rakshire said warningly. The group got white as if they saw ghosts. Evileye getting curious. While she felt no empathy, due to her being a vampire, she could still see potential. And this dullahan seems to have a lot of it. Lakyus and the rest meanwhile thought about potential strategies. Blue roses decided to stay the night at the inn and go out the next morning, since they wanted to engage fully rested.
