Chapter 12

→ Near E-Dartignis / Litzelot and blue roses ←

The trip took as long as expected and a week after they left Re-Estice they stood in front of E-Dartignis. It was a big city with red walls around it. The top of the walls were slightly yellow, while the bottom was a deep red. The walls also had a trench around it, which were flooded.

After placing the bicorn and paying an entrance-fee , blue roses and companion moved into a mediocre inn. On their way Litzelot looked at the city and found it quite nice, if you ignored the slums near the outer walls. Inside the walls was a lot of traffic and the market was quite busy. At least all the streets were paved around here.

The Inn was nothing special, as in it was neither bad nor luxurious. They got two rooms with a meal for mediocre pricing. When they were settled and had prepared their gear, they met in the room from blue roses and planned. They had gotten a map from Renner, marked with the to expect farms and buildings with black dust.

" So, the farms are south-east, while the buildings are in the south. Any plans?" Lakyus asked.

"I have an idea," Litzelot answered.

"And that would be?" Gagaran remarked.

"We don't know how old the information on the map is. I would like to scout the farms and buildings overnight with my "Headless Horseman", so that we don't kick in a door and then have an angry family on our back." Litzelot answered, meanwhile blue roses nearly fell over.

"You didn't think about scouting the area?" Litzelot deadpanned.

"Of course?" Lakyus answered, uncertainty drowning her voice.

"Then let me summon them in the night and we will have the details tomorrow. After that we can rest and plan." Litzelot stated.

"Sounds good. Thanks Litzelot." Lakyus stated.

After that short seshion, Litzelot decided to hang out with blue roses. The played uno and till dinner was served in the inn. After that they talked a bit and went to bed.

Evileye and Litzelot then looked for a quiet place and summoned the "Headless Horseman" and ordered them to scout the area to the south and south-east. After which Evileye and Litzelot played chess and relaxed.

→ E-Dartignis next morning / blue roses and Litzelot ←

After his summon returned with an updated map, Litzelot and blue roses were able to plan their strike. As it turned out, their information was too old. Eight fingers had expanded and had prepared farms further east for the next year.

"So we have our goals. We need to destroy the farms south and south-east. Then we need to destroy their preparations for the next year. After that we would need to destroy their storage. Any ideas?" Lakyus asked.

"The preparations only seem to be on the field. That means that my summons could destroy them by riding over those fields over and over again. That should not be a problem." Litzelot stated. This caused Lakyus to relax, since that problem was out of the way, for now at least.

"That would be good. Then we focus on the fields. I would like to take Gagaran and Tia. So we can take the fields east of that hill, while Evileye Tina and you take the fields west of it. The assassins will set the fields ablaze at a signal, when we have cleared those.

After that we meet in the middle and relocate to the storage. There we will clean the building and look for documents and their like. After that we should burn it down. Does that sound like a good plan?" Lakyus asked.

"Is it wise to split up?" Litzelot asked

"We need to act fast. more groups mean more coverage in a shorter time." Lakyus stated.

"It also means more risk of being destroyed by peace." Litzelot told her.

"We have groups with enough strength. We can also use Tia and Tina as messengers in an emergency." Lakyus said.

"If you say so. Should we do this tonight?" Litzelot asked.

"Yes. The faster we are gone here the faster we can have our next goal." Lakyus answered.

After the planning, which was quite short, The group prepared their gear and waited for the sun to set. After the sun had set they moved out to their respective goals. On their way Litzelot sent his summon on their way.

→ East of E-Dartignis hills / Lakus, Gagaran and Tia ←

The small group easily got near their goal. After they approached they first had to clear the fields and hide the dead bodies. Afterwards they simply waited a short while until they started the preparations to burn the fields. They used water and multiple layers of fabric together with water, since they didn't want to inhale the smoke of black dust.

They afterwards waited to wet tha fabric with water till they would get the signal to start the fire.

→ West of E-Dartignis hills / Evileye, Litzelot, Tina ←

Litzelot and Evileye easily cleared the field, and Tina begann preparations for her health. It took them much less than the group of Lakyus. After preparations were done Litzelot used the "Fireball" spell to signal the other group. After that Tina used multiple torches and burnable projectiles to set the fields on fire. She would regroup at the rallypoint when she had done her pyromaniac job.

Litzelot and Evileye meanwhile moved to the rallypoint.

"That was quite easy, but at least it is something new, aint it?" Litzelot broke the silence between them. it felt like a midnight stroll for him.

"It is partly relaxing, but it is also good to know that you do good" Evileye stated.

"For tonight it will only be the storage building, but we first need to clear that too" Litzelot said.

"Nah. first we need to collect the other group." Evileye replied.

"Of course. Don't want to leave someone behind." Litzelot smiled.

→ Storage building of eight fingers ←

The fires were bright and spread all over the fields. It didn't take the local leader more than that to make the logical decision. He decided to move as much of the money and documents as possible out of the local headquarters. He managed to clear the vaults and had most of the documents leave the building in a small amount of time. He then left with few of his goons, ordering the most useless to hold the building.

→ Rallying point / blue roses, without Tia and Tina ←

Lakyus and Gagaran were slower than Litzelot and smiled when they came to the point. They made smalltalk and waited for the assassins to come back. They also planned on how to clear the building.

After another, quite longer, wait Tia and Tina got to the group. They extinguished the torches and the group closed onto the building.

"What is the plan now?" Tia asked.

"Litzelot will come through the front. Tia and Tina will cover the flanks of the building each. Gagaran and Evileye will cover the back door. I will cover Litzelots back. This will make their escape nigh impossible" Lakyus grinned. The whole group nodded.

Tia and Tina moved into position, ready to kill anyone who could try to escape through the windows. Meanwhile Gagaran and Evileye had moved to the back. Litzelot gave them quite some time. When the time was up he made his move.

Litzelot kicked the door in and immediately cut down the nearest two goons. Two others now attacked Litzelot.

"Ad Profundis" was heard and the two landed on their backs behind Litzelot, where Lakyus took them out. Gagaran heard the commotion and broke through the wood wall in the back. The criminals soon realized their precarious situation and some tried to flee through the windows on the flank while others tried to make a last stand. Gagaran and Litzelot made quick work of the ones that tried to fight.

Outside Tia and Tina killed the ones trying to escape. The whole fight took them an estimated ten minutes.

After the battle blue roses searched the building and tried to collect all they could. Litzelot meanwhile looked at the building.

"There were far too few people with far too bad equipment in here." shot through his head.

After that they took the documents, any material they could use or sell and then burned the building to the ground.

→ E-Dartignis, mediocre inn / blue roses and Litzelot ←

Blue roses and Litzelot reached the inn in the night and looked over the documents. It turned out that they only got documents, which were more than a decade old.

"Looks like they either left or they were nothing more than regular bandits." Lakyus stated, slightly saddened.

"Probably the first. Next time we should burn everything at the end. We did our mistake there, but at least we got rid of the fields." Litzelot said, taking it as a small victory.

"Yeah. We will bring those documents to Renner, she is excellent at cracking codes. Maybe we can get our next point." Evileye stated.

"Good, we should probably move out tomorrow then. Get a good rest" Litzelot said.

The rest of the night blue roses, minus Evileye, slept. Evileye and Litzelot waited for Litzelots summon to report back, played some chess and talked about their pasts.

→ Kami Miyako / The Cardinals and Pontifex ←

In a cathedral was a group of cardinals, six cardinals in total. They wore long white tunics with a golden middle from their neck to the bottom. The Pontifex wore similar clothing with a popehat on top. The topic was a report from a soldier of the sunlight scripture.

"You mean to say that the villagers did not fear death since they encountered a dullahan? Are they stupid? Every undead is a scorn of the gods." One of them shouted.

"In few cultures they are a being that warns of death. It is therefore seen as neutral. It is sometimes even seen positively, since they don't discriminate between people. Probably the villagers saw the Undead as such" Another cardinal spoke.

"But how credible are these reports?" asked another cardinal

"They are reported by villagers that knew that they would be killed. Therefore we need to take this information safely." a cardinal spoke.

"We should wait. If there truly is a dullahan, we will hear of it through spies or other sources. It would also be too much for a scripture to be sent for hearsay" The Pontifex stated.

The Cardinals and Pontifex still bickered a bit, but in the end they decided to wait for more information.

→ E-Rantel Tempel to the six gods / Rakeshir ←

After Rakeshir and his two friends arrived back at E-Rantel, Rakeshir thought about contacting the local priest. It took him quite some time to get to the priest, but here he was.

The priest wore a long gown in white with small red stripes. He was visibly old, since he was bald and had a long white beard. That beard even reached his hip.

"How may I help you, lost child" said the priest. For the priest the scientist in front of him was nothing but a child losing the right path to his gods.

"I will need your help. We investigated a being, which proved too dangerous to stay. We tried to use adamantite adventurers, which failed. We then spied on its strength, which proved that we are not strong enough" Rakeshir told the priest. This at least got a raise from the priest's eyebrow.

"What kind of being are you talking about? If you or an adamantite team can't dispose of it? And what was that adamantite team, which failed?" asked the priest.

"The adamantite team was blue roses," Rakeshir said.

"They are still alive" the priest spoke, knowing since he saw them leave E-Rantel for Re-Estice.

"Yes, because they teamed up with the being. They teamed up with a dullahan. It needs to be deposed, or too many lives are in danger." Rakeshir implored. The priest now saw the problem and made mental notes "These heretics. We should move it upwards. If I can contact the bishop. If the dullahan is in the company of blue roses, they need to be deposed for their heresy. "

"I will contact the bishop. I will require a signed witness account, with signatures from the witnesses." stated the priest.

"When do you need it?" Rakeshir asked, making a mental chibidance.

"You can bring it in an envelope in two days. I have many responsibilities and can write my letters then." The priest answered.

"Why an envelope?" Rakeshir asked.

"We don't want to cause a panic. The less people can read the witness account, the less possible talkler will be in that. What do you think will happen when the public knows about what happened with blue roses and the dullahan?" The priest answered while Rakeshir nodded.

"I will bring the envelope in two days then." Rakeshir said. Afterwards he said his thanks and left.

→ E-Dartignis / Litzelot and blue roses ←

In the morning of the new day Litzelot and Evileye prepared as much as possible without waking the rest of the group. It took them quite some time to wake up.

After the last one of the group had eaten they made the last preparations and left the city. Litzelot then got his bicorn and they started their trip back to E-Rantel.

→ Meanwhile in Carne / Ainz ←

Ainz had arrived three days ago. Ainz was an undead of the Overlord class. He was therefore a giant skeleton which could use high tier magic, in which he specialized in. He now wore a long majestatic gown, with a mask on his face. His appearance screamed for everyone that he was dangerously strong, but sadly he didn't know his strength in his circumstance.

He had arrived with his guild's tomb of Nazarick. It was a tall tomb with ten floors. nine of them guarded. It was unbeaten and therefore never plundered. Ainz had a stressful time in the last few weeks. He tried to understand what was going on and how the new world funktions but there was still not enough data for him. One of the NPCs, a succubus called Albedo, which had black hair and wings, golden eyes and usually wore a white dress and was the guardian overseer, now thanks to his messing with flavor-text fell in love with him. He had no clue on what the NPCs planned next and feared that they might turn on him.

He had seen a massacre occuring when he scouted the area with an item that looked like a mirror. He decided to intervene. He had ordered Albedo to change into her armor and follow him. He easily cleared the local area of athe attacked village, he learned later it was called Carne. After he had sent the Death Knight to clear the village of foes and Albedo arrived he moved with her to the village. It went easily enough on first glanze. but now he knew he had made mistakes, and prayed that Albedo didn't see those. He moved into the shed of the chief to get his payment, information.

He learned about the location of the village, coinage, political situation and some more.

"What is it like to last time with strange people like you?" asked the chief. He was quite old and wore worn out clothes, which were still sturdy enough for the work in the fields.

"What do you mean?" Ainz asked perplex.

"Did we trespass into another player? Are they dangerous? Who are they and what should we do with them?" shot through Ainzs head and he began to be scared, but his emotional suppression kicked in.

"Not so long ago we met another one, who didn't know anything. He even gave us a few of his coins. They look quite similar to yours. Let me search for it shortly." The Chief said, searching and finding the coins he got from Litzelot. He found them and showed them to Ainz.

"They are real. How did the stranger look and what was his name?" asked Ainz.

"He wore armor made of plates. It had a darker metal. He had his helmet closed at all times, and he carried himself in a regal manner. He called himself Sir Litzelot." The chief said. Ainz meanwhile was flabbergasted.

"What is the internet troll doing here? He always had the luck of an idiot. And I now have my NPCs trying to rule the world while this roleplayer is running around. What do I do? What can I do?" Ainz thought, emotional suppression kicking in too late this time.

"WHAT?" Ainz shouted. Albedo and the chief looked at Ainz with questions in their eyes.

"So you know him?" asked the chief.

"More or less. He was a strange one. Always playing pranks and being humorous. But he could occasionally go too far." Ainz stated. After that Ainz and Albedo left.

"What more do we know of this Litzelot?" Albedo asked, knowing when Ainz tried to hide his thoughts.

"He is quite strong. Dullahan is his species. He also rode a bicorn and helped us when the great raid happened upon Nazarick." Ainz stated, shuddering at the memory. The great raid managed to go as deep as level nine. It was a thorn in the side of the guardians.

"So he is an ally?" Albedo asked.

"He could be, but he could also turn into an enemy. He always kept quite neutral. He only helped us because the great raid broke an agreement. He even declined to join our guild. IT is quite sad." Ainz recalled. Albedo getting quite angry at the last bit.

"Someone declining Ainz Ooal Gown? That is heresy on the highest level!" were her thoughts on this.

"So how should we proceed, if we meet him?" Albedo asked.

"Arrange for a meeting and stay peaceful as long as possible. I would not like to fight him. While he makes a lot of pranks, he also learned to be a strong solo player. He needed to since he always scared the noobs of the human players. After he scared him he became a target." Ainz further told Albedo.

"Understood, be careful and peaceful." albedo summarized. Just then the villager saw a new horde of riders approach the village.

Ad Profundis → Into the abyss

Also sorry for the time. I thought about how to write it, and had a few ideas, but had to scratch some of them.
