Papyrus was in the kitchen making spaghetti as he watched Asorell and Sasha sleeping on the couch in the living room. He looks at them and smiles. He'd just set them down for their afternoon nap. As he was stirring the meatballs into the sauce, he heard the static wooshing sound of Sans teleporting into the livingroom. He sees Sans walk into the kitchen as he waves at him. "Sup bro" He said.
"GOOD MORNING BROTHER WHAT BRINGS YOU HERE" He asked.
"I needed to give the king my report on the surface flowers as well as the reports on the personal assignment I'm working on" He said. He shifted his weight to his other leg. "That and I've been thinking...It's time that I told King Fluff the Truth about how Chara was reborn"
Papyrus looks at his older brother. "YOU MEAN TO TELL ME YOU HAVEN'T TOLD KING ASRIEL" He asked, trying to keep his voice down as not to wake the children.
"He only knows that Chara is being raised as our little sibling but he doesn't know the truth yet...He doesn't know that Chara is my child by magic and the kid's determination so he has a right to know...Besides when Chara was alive he was their brother, which means in their past life the late king and queen, were their parents" Sans explained.
"SANS WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME ALL THIS SOONER" He asked in surprisement.
"Heh You never asked bro...Look bro Chara and I discussed it and both of us agreed that it was time for Asriel to know the truth...it's been six in a half years Pap" He said.
Papyrus sighed. "AND HOW DO YOU THINK HE'LL TAKE IT THIS IS ONE OF YOUR BIGGEST SECRETS YOU'VE EVER KEPT FROM THE ROYAL FAMILY" He said.
"I know Pap but both of us have already decided to tell him cause he deserves to know" Sans said.
"ALRIGHT BROTHER IF YOU'RE SURE" He said.
"Anyway Chara and I are goin to the Throne room I'll send Chara back so that they can hang with the kids until I get back" He said.
"GOOD LUCK BROTHER DON'T GET HIM MAD" He said.
"I won't bro" He said before he and Chara Teleported out of the room.
A couple hours later as Sans just finished telling Asriel about Chara they hear a door slam open and a Guard standing at the doorway saying. "HEY YOU CAN'T GO IN THERE"
"SANS" the intruder yelled as he held something in his arms.
They see Dave running towards them. Asriel stood from his throne but Sans stopped him. "It's alright he's a friend of mine...What's wrong Dave" He asked as he looks towards the tired out teenager.
He holds out a VHS (Video Home System) cassette tape towards him. "You need to see these" He said as he panted.
"What are they" Asriel asked.
"I can't explain what they are but the two of you HAVE to see what's on them and trust me you WON'T like it" Dave said.
"Okay then What's on them" Asriel asked.
"Frisk" He said. Sans's eyes widened.
"Let's go to the lab" Sans said as he placed his hands on Dave's and Asriel's shoulders.
"But what about Cha-" He didn't finish his sentence before Sans teleported them both to the lab.
Dave ran straight to the big screen took off his backpack and brought out a VHS player and some chords. Then he brought out one more VHS tape. He started hooking the player to the screen. "Every one of these videos shows Frisk on them...Sans How old did Frisk say she was when she first fell to the Underground" He asked as he turned to Sans.
"She was ten when she fell and she's sixteen now" He said.
"I guess she was drugged so many times that she doesn't remember how old she really is" Dave muttered to himself as he looked down in thought.
"D-Drugged" Sans's eyes widened. "S-She was DRUGGED"
"What do you mean Who are you and How do you know Sans" Asriel demanded.
"Als I can say is that he's Frisk's cousin and Johnson's legitimate son but he isn't anything like his old man" Sans explained.
The video started playing to where it showed a young girl the same age as Sasha with long light brown hair covering her tired golden eyes. Sans eyes widened as his SOUL sank to the bottom of his nonexistant stomach. "That can't be- That's not-" He said.
"Just watch and listen" Dave said.
"You've been a bad girl little Frisky running away from dear old uncle Joshie after he so generously took you in after my sister and brother-in-law...left you" They hear Johnson's voice from the video before they see a long piece of brown rope drop into view.
"Ma-...mama...daddy" the young Frisk tried calling out. But nobody came.
"No one can save you dear Frisky Mommy and daddy are gone and they're Never. Coming. Back" Johnson said before giving her a good hard whip across her chest. Asriel flinched and looked away as they continued to hear the whipping sounds from the screen. Sans felt his anger and rage begin to boil. He never knew Johnson had hurt her so bad for so long that she doesn't even remember anything about it. Or just how old she really is. What else has Johnson been hiding from her?
"That goes on for about two straight minutes until my tutor comes in and saves her...The other one is more of the same thing but with Frisk at different ages...It looks as through she's been Malnourished for a long time and hasn't had a major growth spurt in a while which is probably also why you thought she was originally ten years old when she fell but in actuality she could have been sixteen-seventeen years old" Dave explained.
"How old would she be now" Asriel asked.
"I'd say about twenty-two to twenty-three years old Give or take a month...I talked to some of the workers at the mansion who've lived there the longest and the eldest one told me that after Frisk turned thirteen she was in a coma for a few years due to an injury to her head probably caused by dad...Then one day once when he found out that she had woken up She had disappeared...I'm guessing that's the day she came to the mountain" Dave said.
Sans stood up and walked away. "Where are you going Sans" Asriel asked. He came back moments later with Johnson's SOUL. Asriel's eyes widened as he starred at the two colored soul. Dave looks at it confusingly.
"I've never seen a SOUL like that before" He said.
"This...is that bastard's Anti-SOUL... I've been trying to figure out why his soul is two different colors rather than just one But so far no luck Aside from what all I've already told you about King Asriel" He said as he tried to keep his anger down.
"You don't think he could be from another-" He couldn't finish his sentence because of Dave being right there. Again, no one knows about the different AUs and timelines other than those who've lived through them, and Sasha.
"I have no doubt that he is Fluff...I've figured out a way to communicate to him through the SOUL...but the view in there is disgusting enough as it is...if he can tell me what drug he used on Frisk all these years then I can create an antidote and she can slowly regain her memories on her real age...as for the memories of her torture...I'll try and make it to where she won't remember that but it's no guarantee" He examined.
"How can we communicate with him" Dave asked.
"Magic It's the same technique I use when I calm Chara down from their nightmares but for this bastard...it's gonna have to be different" He said.
"How different" Asriel asked.
"I would have to hook the Anti-SOUL up to a machine and then if the two of you wanted to join me I would have to put these helmets on you and hook them up to the machine" He explained as he showed them a single helmet.
Dave looks towards Asriel. "What do you think King Asriel" He asked.
"We'll have to discuss what to do a bit later for now we'll have to confront Frisk about all of this and see if she remembers at least some of the stuff he did to her in the past" Asriel explained as he looked down in thought. He then looks up at Sans. "But since she's older than she thinks That means that this changes everything about your personal project"
Sans looks at him with his sockets as black as the void and a frown on his face. "This. Changes. Nothing." He said coldly. When the eyelights in his sockets returned he looked away as he placed his hand on a sheet of paper. "I'm still gonna go through with the simulations until she's ready for that big of a step...Besides we have Sahsa and Chara to take care of and I don't think she's ready for that big of a step" He said in a serious tone.
"Maybe she's not ready to have a baby of her own right now because she still thinks she's my age" Dave said.
"But what about Marrying her within the next few months" Asriel said.
"What do you mean Asriel" Sans said as he looked at him eye sockets widened.
"I've been overhearing Frisk on the phone with the president of this country talking about legalizing human and monster marriages She has been talking to him about it for the past couple of months now and from what she's been saying to her I would agree in a SOUL beat" He said. There was silence in the room for a few minutes until Dave broke it.
"Not only that but she's also been talking to me about talking to the president about legalizing monsters to adopt human children and humans to adopt monster children and the president has agreed to legalize them Starting with the adoption papers for Sasha" He said.
"W-Wait Y-You're serious" Sans asked.
"It's true I've already signed the document and is being sent to the president as we speak" Asriel said as he smiled. "So once when she signs it You will legally be Sasha's paternal guardian So now on human terms we need to figure out how we can get Chara to be your legal child as well"
"Wait Chara you mean that older kid that traveled with us...You mean they're your CHILD But they're HUAMN" Dave said surprisingly.
"That's something I'll have to explain to you another time but for right now I have to go pick up Frisk from her meeting I'll bring her back to the throne room and the three of us can talk to her there Is that alright with you Asriel" Sans asked as he sighed.
"That's fine by me" He said as he nodded his head.
"I'll also call Papyrus and tell him that you and I have some urgent business to attend to and won't be home till later and will have to stay with the kiddos a bit longer" he said as he brought out his phone to call his younger brother.
"In the meantime why don't you come back to the castle with me...Dave was it...We can wait for them there and since this is going to take a while I welcome you to stay the night at the castle" Asriel said as he turned towards the male Human.
"Y-Yes Thank you King Asriel" Dave said as he bowed to him.
An hour later. As Sans waited for Frisk to come out of City Hall, he looks around to see the center of town being decorated with streamers and decorated lanterns. "I wonder what's goin on here" He asked himself.
"WHOA Guys look over there" Said a young boy from afar.
"Is that a Monster" Asked a young girl.
"Nah I think it's just a life like decoration for the festival tomorrow night" Said a boy slightly older than the other two.
"What kinda festival kiddos" Sans said as he looked their way without moving his head.
The human kids jump back. "WHAAAH" Yelled the three kids.
Sans chuckles when they jumped back. "Sorry guys I didn't mean to scare ya" He said. He holds out his hand to the elder boy. "The name's Sans Sans the Skeleton"
The kid reached out to shake his hand but when they made contact a long fart noise came from Sans hand.
The two younger kids laughed "P U big brother you made a stinky" Said the young girl.
He laughs again then shows them his whoopee cushion in the hand. "The old whoopee cushion in the hand trick It's always funny" He said.
The elder boy chuckled. "Very funny Mr. Sans" He said.
"Are you a monster Mr. Sans" asked the young boy.
"We've never seen you around before" Said the girl.
"I am a 'Bonefied' Monster but please Just call me Sans Mr. Sans just makes me feel like an old 'brittle bones'" He said.
The kids laughed. "But how come we've never seen you around before" Asked the elder boy.
"Are there still monsters underground that Ambassador Frisk hasn't freed yet" Asked the younger boy.
Sans was taken aback by the young boy's question but stayed silent. "I heard from my friend Usagi's mommy that there are glowing flowers that only grow in a pitch black and damp place and that Ambassador Frisk and her dino doctor friend Alphys wants to bring some of these flowers here to see if they can survive so that we humans can admire their beauty someday" Said the young girl. She looks up at him. "Is that true Sans"
"Oh yeah My Friend Bun Bun Drew one in her sketchbook...She called it an 'Echo Flower' and that If you said something to it it'll repeat it back to you" said the Elder boy.
"Well I don't know anything about them wanting to bring some up to the surface buut I'm guessing that Bun Bun is around your age am I right" Sans asked as he looked towards the taller boy.
"She said that she was six when the barrier broke sooo this year she's thirteen" Said the boy.
"I see...But that's correct We do have glowing flowers called Echo Flowers" He said. He looks back at the decorations being put up around the town. "So what's the occasion for all these decorations being put up" He asked as he looked towards them.
"OH According to mommy and daddy it'll be seven years tomorrow night EXACTLY that the barrier broke and the monsters started living with us humans so every year we humans throw a biiiig celebration to honor the monsters that came to the surface" Said the young boy.
"Yeah it was Mayor Maria's Idea I'm surprised that you don't know about it" Said the elder boy.
"To be honest I don't think even Ambassador Frisk knows about it because when Mommy saw her this morning she looked like she was confused and doesn't know what was going on" Said the girl.
"What was I confused with children" They hear Frisk's voice from behind them. The kids look up to see her as Sans looks behind him. "Eugene take your siblings to see your Aunt Maria She'll be finished with her paper work in a few minutes then she'll take you three home" She said.
"Yes Ambassador Frisk" Said Eugene as he gently took his twin brother and sister's hands and led them into City Hall. When he passed by he looked at Sans and mouthed something to him.
"Sorry Sans I hope Mayor Maria's neice and Nephews haven't caused you too much trouble have they.
"Uhhh N-no they weren't a bother" Sans said as he looked off to the side then looked at her and smiled. "Ready to head home Miss Ambassador" He asked as he held out his hand for hers.
She gently takes it and smiles. "Always Royal Scientist" She said. He teleported them into the throne room as Dave and Asriel looked at them.
"Welcome home Frisk" Asriel said.
"D-Dave What are you doing here" She asks as she sees Dave.
"Have a seat Frisk" Asriel said as he guestured her to the throne.
"Ummmm okay...What's going on here" She asked as she looks at Sans.
He looks away in sadness. "Look...Frisk...We need to talk" He said.
A few hours later after Sans, Asriel, and Dave showed and explained to Frisk everything that they had found on Johnson's torture on her She puts her legs to her chest. "I'm so sorry Frisk...if I had known my father was doing all this kind of stuff I KNOW my mother would've left him and taken you with her in a heart beat" Dave said.
"We understand if you need some time alone to think" Asriel said.
Sans reaches up and puts his hand on her head but before he touches her head she wraps her arms around him burring her face in his chest. He wraps his other arm around her back, holding her close. "If there's a way for you to forget everything about him I would not rest until I'd find it You know that" He said as he kisses the top of her head.
He feels her shake with her muffled cries. He looks at her and smiles sadly. "Why don't you and Sasha stay with Sans for a few days to clear your mind since you have a couple days off" Asriel said.
"How does that sound hun" Sans asked. She nods hear head yes, still hiding her face in his chest.
"Then it's settled then Starting tonight you and Sasha will stay a total of five days in Snowdin and during those five days Papyrus will come to the palace and stay here for three of them so that you and Sans can spend some time with Chara and Sasha as a family" Asriel said. "Plus I take it that during those five days Sans would have some Explaining to do about his projects he's been working on these past few months"
"BUT I'll explain everything about those projects later for now we should grab the kiddos and Paps and head home I'm sure your pretty 'bone' tired after the day you had heh" He said.
When they arrived in the living room, they see Papyrus sitting on the chair holding a sleeping Asorell in his arms as he reads a book. On the couch slept Chara holding Sasha protectively in their arms. "AH WELCOME HOME FRISK AND WELCOME BACK BROTHER" He said quietly.
"Sup bro Frisk and Sasha are coming home with us for a few days so She's gonna pack a bag for them before we leave" He said as he watched Frisk walked into Sasha's room to pack a bag for her.
"THAT'S GREAT BROTHER BUT UHH...WHY" He asked as he tilted his head in confusion.
Sans doesn't answer him as he looks at Chara and Sasha sleeping on the couch. He smiles. "They're already protecting her in their sleep" He said softly.
"YES THEY'VE BEEN HOLDING ONTO HER LIKE THAT SINCE THEY FELL ASLEEP A COUPLE HOURS AGO I'M NOT SURE WHY" Papyrus said.
"They're becoming a responsible big sibling to her" He said as he smiled as they slept. He knelt down by Chara and gently shook them. "Chara Wake up kiddo It's time to head home" He said softly.
They open their eyes and yawned. "Okay" They said tiredly. They saw up and rubbed their eyes before they gently started to set Sasha back on the couch.
"Hold on there Kiddo Sasha and Frisk are coming with us You don't have to put her down" He said.
"They are" They asked as they looked at him. He nodded his head.
"They're gonna be staying with us for a few days" He said.
"Finally gonna take Frisk out on a date huh" They teased.
He smirked. "Maybe If you and Paps can watch over your sister while we're gone" He said. They nodded their head as they yawned again. "But for now we need to get back home and get you back to bed you look just as tired as I am"
"Probably get it from you I may need to watch myself before I become as lazy as you" They said.
He smirked. "No one can out lazy the King of Laziness" He said.
"THE HUMAN IS READY TO GO SANS I HELPED HER WITH THE PACKING" Papyrus said.
"Aright Chara why don't you hand Sasha to Frisk and I'll carrying you We can walk till we get to waterfall then I can teleport us the rest of the way" He said. Chara did what they were told and handed Sasha to Frisk.
"Are you sure I'm not too heavy for you to carry Sans" They asked.
"Nah to be honest you're about the same weight as Sasha" He said as he picked them up. They laid their head on his shoulder and closed their eyes. Within minutes they were fast sleep in his arms.
"They're a daddy's child" Frisk teased as she elbowed Sans in his side.
"I don't mind that We'll have Sasha sleep with Chara and you can sleep in my room while I'll sleep on the couch" He said.
"That's fine with me" She said She adjusted Sasha in her arms then looked at him again. "But I'm curious as to what 'projects' Asriel said you were working on"
"I-I'll tell you later alright" He said as he looked off to the side, hiding a blue blush from her.
Once they finally made it home Frisk and Sans took Chara and Sasha to their room. Sans laid them down on their bed as Frisk set Sasha down beside them. Once when she laid her down Chara wrapped their arms protectively around her as they slept. She giggles softly. "They're such a good big sibling" She said.
"This is the second time I've seen them like this" He said as he looked at them in thought. He smiles as he watched Frisk tuck them in then giving each of them a kiss on the forehead. "You make it look so easy"
"What so easy" She asks as they left the room shutting the door behind them.
"This whole parenting thing You make it look so easy" He said.
"It's actually a daily challenge it just seems easy" She said as she yawned. She squeaks when he picked her up like a bride.
"Now it's time for our Royal Ambassador to get some shut eye as well" He said as he carried her into his room and gently laid her down on his bed, tucking her in.
"You look like you have a lot on your mind Sans...Wanna talk about it" She said as she gently grabbed his hand. He looks at her an sighs then sits down at the edge of the bed, still holding her hand.
"I can't hide anything from you for long now can I...Yeah I do have a lot of things on my mind but they're nothing you needn't worry about You came here to clear your mind of that bastard and spend time with Chara, me, and Pap...And don't worry I'll still take you and pick you up from work whenever you need me to" he said as he looked at her and smiled, gently her hand a little squeeze for reassurance.
She smiles. "Can you at least tell me what sort of projects you're working on I keep hearing you and Asriel say something about...Simulations...Whatever that is" She asked.
He blushes and looks away. "W-Well T-that one i-is a b-bit c-complicated to e-explain at the moment" He stuttered. He feels her gently squeezing his hand.
"Als I know is that that particular project has something to do with families and that it is very important to you" She said.
He sighs and looks away. "L-Look The thing is...For that project I'm working to see if it's possible for a monster and a human to successfully conceive and reproduce together...Th-through the simulations of course...But the reason why I'm doing this project because-" He sighs. "Because I want us to get married and raise a family of our own someday...I-if you want to" He said shyly. He hears her giggle shlyly. "What's so funny"
"It's funny...I'm actually trying to talk to the president and Mayor Maria if the four of us could Legalize human and monster marriages and I was thinking that...I-if all four of us agree and once it's finally legalized...M-Maybe you and I c-could be the first monster and human couple to get married I-if you want to" She said shyly.
He looks at her and smiles then walks over to his dresser and pulls out something hidden in his hand. "I'm glad about that because Once it's finally legalized...Our dear Ambassador Princess Frisk Dreemurr Will you marry me" He asked as he shows her a boned gaster blaster shaped ring with a round blue sapphire in the gaster's mouth.
She gasps. "S-Sans I-...Y-Yes yes a million times YES" She said as she pounced on him and kissed his teeth.
He smiled and kissed her back as he gently placed the ring on her right ring finger. "Once it's legalized you can put the ring on the left hand but for now we don't want anyone getting suspicious" He said when he broke the kiss.
She looks at him and nodded her head yes. "OH I almost forgot" She said as she stood up and walked to her bag. She brought out a small envelope and handed it to him. "These are the forms for monsters to be allowed to adopt human children and humans to adopt monster children The president and the Mayor both signed them" She explained.
He examined the forms and his eyes widened. "Frisk Does this mean that-" He tried to say. She nodded her head yes.
"Sasha is now officially and legally our adopted daughter" She said as she handed him another smaller envelope. "This is a copy of her adoption papers Mayor Maria said that both of us have to have a copy as well as Doctor Alphys, the Mayor, and the President It will be publicized on the news tomorrow among some other new laws between humans and monsters" She explained. He picked her up and twirled her around as he hugged her tightly.
"This is amazing news love I'm so happy for you" He said.
"This is just a small part of what a bunch of Determination can do Sans" She said as she smiled.
"I'm proud of what an amazing and beautiful young woman you've become over these past seven years And despite all the shit you've been through You're still the kid I know and love with all my SOUL" He said lovingly as he kissed her forehead.
"I love you too Sans...With all my heart and soul" She said as she yawned. As soon as Sans lifted her up into his arms, she fell fast asleep, leaning her head on his chest.
He smiled and gently tucked her into bed and kissed her forehead once more. "Good night My determined sweetheart" He whispered before he left the room gently shutting the door behind him.
The next day as Sans and Chara were studying at the lab Asriel was in his office reading over some papers when he heard a knock on the door.
"My King There are some humans in uniform that wish to speak to you something about the royal scientist raising a human child without proper legal paper work" Said the Guard.
"Lead them to the throne room I will speak with them there" Asriel said. 'This can't be possible Frisk had just legalized for him to adopt Sasha just yesterday...Could this be about...Chara' he thought to himself with concern.
