Ethan set his towel down just as Ryu stepped into the bathroom, already naked. Ethan smiled, wrapping his arms around her neck and kissing her. Ryu kissed him back instantly, stepping into him as her tongue trailed along his lower lip, his own slipping out to meet hers. However, after several minutes, just as Ethan's hands slid up to knead Ryu's chest, the door opened and both pulled away quickly, turning to the door to see Wiene watching them with her head tilted to the side.

"Good morning, Wiene," Ethan said.

"Good morning," Wiene said.

"I'll meet you outside," Ryu said.

Ethan nodded and gave her another kiss before grabbing his clothes and guiding Wiene back into the room while Ryu began to take a bath. Ethan got dressed quickly and pulled Wiene's Salamander Wool robe on, pinning it closed this time before walking outside with her, finding Bell and Haruhime outside already.

"Good morning," both said.

"Good morning," Ethan and Wiene replied.

Wiene dropped onto her back in the grass, smiling, then stared up at the sun in interest. "What is that?"

"That's the sun," Haruhime smiled, leaning over Wiene and smiling down at her.

"The sun," Wiene repeated before smiling brightly. "It's warm!" She sat up, and Ethan smiled, sitting beside her, Haruhime sitting beside Bell. "Above ground is really pretty! This is too warm and cozy!" She gripped the Salamander Wool. "I want to take it off!"

She pulled it up over her head, only for Ethan and Haruhime to catch her arms, struggling to stop her.

"You can't, Wiene!" Haruhime said, just before Wiene fell backward, taking Haruhime with her.

Wiene pouted.

"Just bear with it, Wiene," Ethan said. "You can't walk around without any clothes on."

"Why?" Wiene pouted.

"It's improper!" Haruhime said.

"Improper?" Wiene asked.

"It's something you're not supposed to do," Ethan said. "If you're going to live on the surface with us, you need to learn to act like us. That means you have to wear clothing at all times, unless you're taking a bath."

"Bath?" Wiene frowned.

"Washing your body to make it clean," Haruhime supplied.

Wiene nodded. "Okay."

Ethan sighed in relief and lay back on the ground, watching the clouds for a few minutes. Bell headed inside after a few minutes, and Haruhime returned to doing the girls' laundry. After another twenty minutes, Wiene suddenly rolled over on top of Ethan.

"Love?" Wiene asked.

Ethan grimaced and sat up, moving Wiene off of him. Just as he did, Ryu sat down beside Ethan, both facing Wiene.

"I suppose we did promise to explain about that, didn't we?" Ryu asked.

"We did," Ethan sighed. "Let us know if there's anything you don't understand and we'll try to explain."

Wiene nodded, watching them with rapt attention.

"Love is...really complicated," Ethan said. "Love is an emotion, a feeling. There's more than one type of love, too. There's a kind of love you can feel for your friends, there's one for your family, there's one for things you like to do, your favorite foods, and even places you like. And then there's the type of love most people think of, which is the romantic kind."

"Romantic?" Wiene asked.

"We'll get there," Ethan said.

"Romantic love is the kind that Ethan and I meant when we said it last night," Ryu said. "When you feel it toward someone, that's considered being in love with them. When you are, that person becomes the most important person in your life. You want to be around them all the time, and want nothing more than to see them happy and safe. Whenever they're sad or hurt, you're sad as well. When you're not around them, or when you think there's something wrong with them, your chest feels tight and it can be hard to breathe. And if your love for them is strong enough, they become your reason to live. You want to stay alive because you want to be able to spend more time with them. You're afraid of dying because you'd never see them again."

Wiene was watching her with a wide-eyed, fascinated stare.

"There's also a physical aspect," Ryu said. "You want to hold them, you want to kiss them, you even want to be able to have sex with them."

"Sex?" Wiene frowned.

"It's what our kind call the process of reproducing," Ryu said.

Wiene nodded.

"Sex isn't just for reproduction, though," Ryu said. "At least, not for our kind. Most of our kind also do it simply for the pleasure of it without reproducing."

"Pleasure?" Wiene asked.

"Are we really doing this right now?" Ethan asked.

"Yes," Ryu said simply. "Pleasure is something that feels good. I'm not sure about you, since I don't even know if you have the ability to, but for our kind, when you have sex, there's a lot of pleasure. And for our kind, sex doesn't have to be just a male and female, either. They are able to have sex with each other as well, though they won't be able to reproduce that way. Anyway, even with the pleasure being what it is, or maybe because of it, you shouldn't have sex with just anyone. You should wait until you find someone who you love, and who loves you back. That should be the person you have sex with."

By this point, Ethan was extremely uncomfortable with the topic, though Wiene was still staring at Ryu in fascination.

"U-Um, Wiene," Haruhime stammered suddenly from off to the side where she'd set out a blanket and had a picnic basket, her face crimson as Aisha grinned beside her. "Would you like to have your meal now?"

Wiene ran over to her instantly.

"You haven't eaten anything since yesterday, have you?" Haruhime asked as Wiene began to inspect the contents of the picnic basket.

"Meal?" Wiene asked.

"Um, she's talking about food," Bell said, walking over to them as Ethan and Ryu joined the other three on the blanket. "Do you mind if I eat with you?"

"Not at all," Haruhime smiled.

They all smiled and ate together, Wiene absolutely loving the food. After a while, Anya returned with the money she'd gotten from the magic crystals she'd turned in. Then, she also joined them for lunch. Once they'd finished Wiene lay down to stare at the sky as Ryu settled into Ethan's lap, resting her head on his shoulder and smiling.

"She's kind of like a child," Ryu smiled, watching as Wiene's eyes followed Haruhime's tail before she suddenly turned and tried to catch it, only to miss and roll onto her side.

"Yes, she is," Ethan smiled.

Ryu lifted her head and kissed him for a few moments before pulling back as Wiene cuddled into his side, wrapping her arms around them both. Both smiled, and Ethan wrapped an arm around her as well as Ryu stroked her hair affectionately. After a moment, A bird chirped as it flew by and Wiene gasped, sitting up quickly, only for her claws to tear across his and Ryu's skin on accident, spraying her in each of their blood. Her eyes went wide in surprise as both shouted in pain, Ethan instantly holding a hand to Ryu's gashes.

"Ethan!" Wiene whimpered. "Ryu! Does it hurt?"

"Quite a bit, yes," Ethan said.

"I'll go and get a medicine kit!" Haruhime said, jumping up.

"It's fine," Ethan said. "Restoration."

Both of them shone green for a moment before healing. Ryu sighed as her wounds faded, then side, looking over at Wiene.

"I'm sorry!" Wiene sobbed, covering her face with her hands. "I'm sorry Ethan, Ryu!"

"It's alright," Ethan said, reaching over and pulling her into a hug, Ryu holding her as well. "It was an accident. You didn't mean to."

Wiene wrapped her arms around them as well, sobbing into Ethan's chest.

"Maybe we should clip her claws," Aisha suggested.

Ethan nodded. "I think that would be a good idea." He stood, pulling Ryu and Wiene to their feet as well. "Come on. Ryu and I need to wash the blood off and change our clothes."

Wiene nodded and the three of them headed back up to Ethan and Ryu's room. They took their clothes off and quickly washed the blood off of themselves before also washing it off of Wiene and her Salamander Wool. Then, Ethan tugged Wiene over to the bed and picked up his xiphos.

"I'm going to cut off your claws," Ethan told her calmly. "That way you won't accidentally hurt someone again. Alright?"

Wiene nodded, holding her hand out. Ethan carefully trimmed them until they were level with her fingers.

"There," Ethan smiled. "Now you don't have to be afraid of scratching anyone."

Wiene cheered and threw her arms around Ethan, who smiled and stroked her hair for a moment before pulling back and standing, beginning to get dressed again.
