A/N: Here we reach the chapter where I adjusted a character's age, but in the rewrite I may change this back – I'm undecided, but for the story as it is now the plan is set. Enjoooooooooy everybody, I love you and the support you guys show this story. There's also a bit of possible fudging of some rules based in reality, but for the sake of the story, just go with me here.

Chapter 28: Undesired Need

"...The hell are you goin' on about?" The man finally asked, "What do Titans have to do with anything right now?"

Priss grinned, eyes still remaining cold, as she began to weave her story, "I came from that Island where they all are, the Titans I mean. You know what I was known for?"

"Stop stalling and get to the point!" The man shouted, growing impatient with her.

"I was the one person who could stand toe to toe with a Titan and take them down," She said, not phased by him raising his voice in her face, "No weapons or gear, just my bare hands. One by one I would bring them to their knees. I even tamed a shifter or two... So, I suggest you back off before I have to hurt you."

"Hah!" The drunkard laughed, drops of spit from his foul mouth flying out and landing on her, "And I suggest you blow me for telling a lie like that."

"A lie?" She spoke, finally rising to her feet to tower over the man who still was crouching, "Why would I lie about being able to easily kick your ass?"

Initially the man was stunned by how unexpectedly tall she was for a woman, but he shook it off to avoid appearing like she was actually intimidating him. He put on his own tough mug as he rose to his feet as well, and turns out he came up just about an inch under Priss in height. The girl's heart was beating fast in her chest as she went on with her tall tale about being some godly Titan slayer, but she remained stone faced. The only true emotion her eyes revealed was simply a building rage within her, ready to break free. She swore she could feel the moon's light embracing her, encouraging her to use the strength it blessed her with.

"Tch..." The man scoffed, "I'd like to see you try, girlie."

The invitation to violence urged her to use it, but she made an effort to try and keep herself in check. She didn't want to end up accidentally murdering someone in a blind fury because she couldn't control herself, that would land her in even more trouble than she was already in.

Just do enough to scare him off...

She repeated that mantra in her head while her lips whispered, "You asked for it."

Priscilla swiftly raised her fist and with her enhanced strength she sent her punch directly into the man's chest, knocking him back onto the ground. Blood spurted out of his mouth when he tried to cry out in pain.

"W-What the hell?!" One of his equally drunk cronies exclaimed.

Priss watched with her once again cold eyes that had a faint green glow to them as the man she hit called out to his friends weakly for help, and each time he did so more blood would come sputtering out of his mouth. The group fumbled around, eventually carefully lifting their friend and muttering about getting him to a hospital and how 'they'll make that bitch pay.' Priscilla stood frozen until she could no longer hear their voices, and even for a minute afterwards. Once she was sure it was safe, the reality of what she just accomplished came crashing down on her and she fell to the ground on her hands and knees – she damn near vomited too.

"I can't believe I made up that dumb Titan story on the spot..." She panted, as if she had been holding her breath the whole time of the encounter, "And just... did all of that."

Her body shook with adrenaline running through her veins and flooding it's way through her body. She managed to get herself out of trouble by herself and didn't go off on a screaming tantrum – surely her emotional state of being tired of all the bullshit of that day alone contributed to taking a colder approach to it. Whatever it was, it worked in that instance; what also worked out was luck being on her side with it being a clear night, if it had been during the day, her chances of coming out on top like that would have been exponentially smaller. Regardless, Priss happily took this small victory – she had so few of those these days that she'd take what she could get. The worry, among many, now was that they'd come back around looking for her.

I'll just have to get a move on in the morning.

Her body was swiftly crashing from the high she had built up herself and all the tiredness in her system came back with a vengeance; sleep was absolutely needed at this point, and this spot was as good as it was gonna get. No blanket, no cushions, just stone cold ground – like the days of her youth. She could have gotten up to wander around to try and find some sort of better space to lay her head, but she could very well run into more trouble that way, and really... how much better would street living be? Is the alleyway a few blocks down miraculously going to be more comfortable than this one? Or any other one? Her body, fatigued to the point of aching, told her to stay right where she was.

Priss plopped herself straight down onto the ground and rolled towards the wall of the building, just to have something next to her. She knew the sleep was going to be far from restful, but again, the girl had to take what she could get in these trying times.

Priscilla's body shook as she was jolted awake by something within her detecting danger, or at least something abnormal nearby. Her mind jumped immediately to the gang of booze hounds from the night prior coming back, but when she swiftly rolled over to see what presence loomed above her, it was just one person; a person she still wasn't thrilled to see, but arguably was better than being confronted by the men in broad daylight where she'd have no way to fend a group of them off.

"Sleeping til noon, Ziegler?" Zeke spoke calmly, then added in his best version of a 'joking' tone, "That's not very productive."

Her vibrant eyes were wild with confusion and she mentally searched for some words that would make sense to say, but in her abruptly awakened agitation this was a bit of a struggle. While her brain was still catching up to the rest of her body, Zeke slipped his hand into his pocket and pulled out a folded up piece of paper.

"Er... What is that..?" Priss managed to say as she squinted at what he was presenting to her. With her wits slowly returning to her, she noticed the couple of words written on the outside of it – and that proved to be her full wake up call. Priscilla sat up quickly and locked her eyes on it as she read the words out loud, "'To Mom'? … that's Reiner's handwriting!"

"That's correct," Zeke confirmed, returning it to his pocket for safe keeping, "He wants me to take you to his old home where his mom still lives. He thinks that's the safest place for you to be for the time being."

"Giving up on dragging me back to my brother?" Priss asked, moving her eyes up to his face.

"We came to an agreement after some debate on what to do with you," Zeke began, reaching over to scratch at his ear, "Anteros of course wants you under his watchful eye, but even he came to understand that there's no way you'd stand for being locked up there. I easily vouched for what a hellraiser you are and he begrudgingly agreed to let you stay where you want."

Priss scoffed, "I don't even know him that well but that doesn't sound like something he'd say."

"He is well aware of where you'll be – right here in the Internment Zone, so don't think you're completely safe from him here. He's a man who knows how to get what he needs," Zeke explained, "And I was able to appeal to that side of him that sincerely loves you, telling him how letting you live how you pleased and not force too much on you would benefit him more than making you stay with him."

"Hmph..." A skeptical Priss hummed, "But you'll be here to keep tabs on me and report back to him."

"Is that worse than forcing you to be locked up in the Tybur mansion under constant watch? And knowing you, constantly getting confrontational or troublesome?" He countered, "He may not approve of this plan entirely, but you really should be thankful Willy and I were able to negotiate a better outcome for you."

Priss dramatically blew air out from her lips and considered what Zeke said; deep down she knew he was right, she would raise all sorts of hell and constantly be trying to escape if someone tried to confine her to a cage – even one as gilded and luxurious as an aristocratic manor was still a prison for her; and what would become of her if she kept on trying to escape and wouldn't stop being a pain in the ass? Would she be literally locked away in the dark where no moonlight could help her? The idea of a cage would always be frightening to her – memories of that terrible time she was spent chained and caged in her youth flooded back to her and make her queasy. Priscilla never wanted to endure something like that again, she'd sooner die than be locked up.

"Oi there!"

A smarmy voice broke her away from descending too far into her past trauma. Both she and Zeke looked over and saw that same group of men Priss ran into last night coming their way, this time with their 'leader' missing. Priscilla's mind jumped to the paranoid thought that maybe she did end up killing the bastard, but she would stifle her panic until she knew more.

Another spoke up, "That's the same bitch that put our boy in the hospital alright!"

"Hm?" Zeke said, turning to face the brutes.

Just as they were about to approach and try to get their revenge on her for what she did to their friend, they stopped dead in their tracks when they got a full look at Zeke. A glimpse of fear dashed across their faces upon seeing him.

"Hey... that's..." One of the men pointed towards Zeke, "He's wearing one of those armbands..."

"I'm Zeke Yeager, Warchief of the Marleyan Warrior Unit. Holder of the Beast Titan," Zeke announced with a grand sense of authority, something Priss hadn't seen from him in a long time, "This girl here is my responsibility."

The group were at a bit of a loss now; they initially were coming to start trouble with Priss since she went and roughed up one of them previously. As fellow Eldians, they held the Warrior unit in high esteem as champions and heroes of their people, which meant they certainly didn't want to pick a fight when the Warchief himself had a stake in it.

Zeke adjusted his glasses and looked from the group, to Priss and then back to the men, "Did she cause some problems for you?" He asked, "It's not unlike her to be a nuisance, and for that I apologize. I'll be sure to give her some disciplining, so if you'll excuse us, we will be going now."

The men, who's aura of toughness had dropped into respectful submission with the great Warchief before them, glanced sideways at each other before all nodding. Priss stared up at Zeke, who was keeping his gaze on the men, and actually felt impressed by him – even a bit awed. She let out a tiny scoff, amazed at her own feelings towards him in that moment. She never predicted that this man, who she previously had only really known as unscrupulous, could exert a level of goodness that could be called heroic.

While she was coping with the fact that Zeke was actually doing something honestly good for her here, he turned back to her and nodded his head to prompt her to get up so they could get going. Priss wasn't sold on the idea that there was an agreement to let her live away from her brother, but she would cross the bridge when she got to it – the first thing that needed to be done was to get out of this situation. Once she was on her feet, she and Zeke began to walk towards the men, who quickly parted to let the Warchief and his 'responsibility' through. Before they were far away though, they heard one last thing from one of the men calling after them as they departed:

"...So is she your daughter or something?"

Zeke kept on walking, but a snickering Priscilla noticed a subtle change in his posture that definitely indicated his ego took a major blow with that comment – and it was even better since he just flexed his power over the common Eldian citizen, but they found a way to unintentionally take him down a peg: telling him he looked old more or less. She couldn't be sure, but Priss swore she heard her unexpected savior muttering about how he doesn't look that old to reassure himself that he didn't look like a scraggly middle aged loser.

However, the little troublemaker that Priss is, couldn't let that comment go. She turned around, walking backwards and left the group of smarmy men with one last remark between her devilish laughter, "Does this guy look like a woman would ever go near him?!"

The pair traveled in silence; Zeke had grown stoic while Priss was still riding off that little high she managed to achieve, but such fleeting fancies wouldn't last – not when the weight of the world began to come back down onto her.

"So..." Priss said, breaking the silence, "What does that letter from Reiner say, anyway?"

"I thought it would be impolite to read too much of it myself," Zeke answered, "I checked inside to see the address of where his mother lived, but didn't read further. All he said when I met with him was that it explains who you are and that it's his wish that you're taken care of."

Priss exhaled and then slowly looked over to Zeke as they continued to walk, "That's... surprisingly decent of you."

Zeke looked to her as well, "What do you mean?"

"You could have just torn that note up and pretended it never happened... or that you conveniently 'lost it.' You could come up with plenty of excuses for me being brought back to my brother, I'm sure. But..." She mused, eyes turning down to her feet, "You chose what would make both me and Reiner happy instead."

"Like I said..." Zeke began, "Your brother loves you, and after some wearing down he relented to letting you live as you please if that's what makes you most comfortable."

"Does he though?" She replied darkly as her face fell into a scowl, "I don't think he loves me, just the image of me he's built up in his mind that suits his desires. Or the memory of me from years ago. When I spoke to him he talked down to me about how I behaved and that I needed to be 'corrected.' And I know I won't be off the hook so easily."

"Hm?" Zeke prompted her to go on.

"You two have been planning something for a long time, right?" Priss asked, "Something you need me for. I don't think he's about to give up on all that, whatever it is. You two have ways of meeting up. You can easily tell him what I'm up to and where I'm going. He'll still be watching me, in a way, through you. Isn't that right, Zeke?"

The girl's green eyes had traveled back up from the ground to him again, and now her gaze was cold. She had a brief moment of feeling something positive for him, but she managed to fall back into her normal opinion of him – one that wasn't very high in the slightest. Zeke looked away from her piercing, spiteful glare and cleared his throat.

"We should be coming up on the house any moment now..." He spoke, hoping this would put an end to the heavy subject matter they had unintentionally gotten into, "I think you should wait off to the side for a moment, I can give you some kind of introduction that way."

"Oh I just feel so special." She replied in a mix of whimsy and sarcasm, rolling her eyes and waving her hands.

"I just don't want to overwhelm Mrs. Braun..." Zeke added, attempting to keep things as serious as they should be, "She's going to have to process a lot as it is, so let's try to ease her in best we can."

Priss crossed her arms tightly and huffed, "What's got you acting so noble today?"

"Hush," He cut her off, coming to a stop outside of a home that looked just like any of the others that surrounded it. It was far from the luxury that she saw with the Tyburs and was a prime example of what the standard of living for the average Eldian was here. The whole neighborhood was dismal and seemed neglected, and this home was no exception.

Zeke motioned for Priss to stand off to the side like he had instructed before so that she wouldn't be seen upon Mrs. Braun opening the door. He raised one hand and wrapped on the door with his knuckle while he held onto the letter from Reiner in his other. It didn't take long for someone within to rush to the door as if they were eagerly anticipating visitors, and upon swinging it open Priss could hear a woman gasp.

"Warchief Yeager!" The voice of an older woman exclaimed in disbelief, "I heard the Warriors had returned and we've been waiting for Reiner... What are you doing here?"

"I have something to discuss with you Mrs. Braun... It's Karina, right?" Zeke asked. Priss heard Karina gasp again, but this time quieter and with a hint of sorrow.

"Oh god, no..." She murmured, "Is he...?"

"No no, he's at HQ at the moment and can't leave, but he's alive." Zeke assured Karina. He then produced the letter from her son and handed it to her, "This should tell you what you need to know about what's going on right now."

Being off to the side, Priss was now left in the dark as things fell silent while Karina read over the note. After a minute, she heard Karina exhale quietly in shock.

"A... A girl?" She whispered in a shaking voice. "A wife?"

Zeke looked over to Priss and nodded towards the door, "That's your cue."

Now was the time she was going to officially meet Reiner's family, and suddenly it left her with her nerves tingling unpleasantly up her spine as her heart pounded so hard it felt like it could burst from her chest. Regardless, she stepped into view and saw a woman of about middle age. Her clothes were simple and earth toned and her hair fell down to her shoulders – like Reiner, she was a shade of blonde, but aging had taken a toll on it's vibrancy. Karina's eyes went wide with shock when the girl stepped into view, stunned by her otherworldly odd looks. His mother had no idea what kind of woman Reiner could pick up, but she wasn't ready for someone so unconventional looking.

Karina's mouth hung open, her hands shaking with the letter still held in them as she struggled to get her next words out, "You're..." She began and tried to force a smile. Her eyes were beginning to water as she went on, "You're the woman my Reiner has fallen in love with?"

"Um, yeah. That's me," Priss answered awkwardly, she couldn't get a read on Karina's emotional reaction, "My name is Priscilla. But people call me Priss for sh-"

Her introduction was cut off by Karina bursting into tears of joy and pulling the white haired girl into a tight hug, "Everyday I worried I'd never see my sweet boy again... but he's back... and with a wife in tow!"

"They're not married yet..." Zeke muttered bitterly like the buzzkill he is, "They just say they are."

Karina then pulled away to look Priscilla in the eye, sniffling a bit, "I'm sorry, I'm getting hysterical and we've only just met..." Karina apologized, "I never imagined my little Reiner would go and find a girl... and especially didn't expect him to have a baby on the way."

"WIFE?" A loud, young girl's voice called loudly from within the home, "BABY?"

Karina turned and scolded the girl, "Gabi! Quiet down!"

"REINER HAS A BABY?" The one named Gabi went on with her excited questioning, disregarding her aunt's words.

Karina stepped aside and invited the guests in. Once inside, Priss saw the fireball of energy sitting at the kitchen table, kicking her legs in her chair. The child's short hair was black as midnight and her eyes were a beautiful light brown – they were also big and expressive, much like Priscilla's green ones. Once Priss was fully in view, Gabi was stunned as well.

"Woah..." She whispered as she stared at the ethereal being, "She's... She's got the baby in her?"

"Yes, Gabi. That's Reiner's ah... his wife? The note said?" Karina explained.

Gabi suddenly jumped up onto the chair she was just sitting on in the blink of an eye and pointed towards Priss, "That means you and Reiner kissed!" She shouted accusingly.

Priscilla burst into a fit of giggles, covering up her mouth with one of her hands. She couldn't remember the last time she came across someone so innocent, or someone as young as her. She recalled Reiner said he 'had a younger cousin' who was about 10, and she figured this had to be her.

"Gabi, get down!" Karina ordered firmly, "That's dangerous!"

Gabi carefully crawled down and back into her chair without a word, back to kicking her legs and gripping the edges of the chair to keep herself in place. The little girl and her eyes full of wonder didn't leave her big cousin's lady friend; Priss wasn't sure what to think about the kid staring at her and just awkwardly kept her gaze elsewhere – she wasn't exactly a pro with dealing with children, which was something she'd have to adapt to eventually, and Gabi would provide a great way to understand kids. She did recall Reiner mentioning how he was sure his cousin would love to help with the baby too.

While she was becoming more and more enchanted with Gabi by the second, Priss was jolted back into the moment by feeling Zeke's hand on her shoulder.

"You should be all set up here with them," He said, "But before I go..."

His other hand dug into one of his deeper, roomy pockets of his coat, from which he produced a small box that was clearly labeled as some sort of tea, but more interestingly it had floral imagery as artful embellishments on the packaging.

"What's that?" Priss asked, although she had a suspicion of what he was offering her.

"Some special tea I found while I took a morning walk outside the Internment Zone," He explained as he held the box out to her, "As a Warrior I have a bit of an easier time getting permission to go outside. I enjoy a morning walk out there before things get too busy... But I came across this in a small store, it's supposed to be relaxing."

Priscilla took the box from him and held it up to her face, the smell of the herbs and tea leaves contained in the bags within was strong enough to be smelled through the outer package. It was familiar and comforting.

"...Thank you," She said with pure sincerity, looking to him with as much of a smile as she could muster for this man, "I could definitely use some more relaxing right now."

"As I thought," Zeke responded, scratching his ear, "Try to make it last. The shopkeeper charged me more since I'm Eldian."

Silence descended upon the room; Gabi still had her glimmering sweet eyes locked on the new arrival while Karina kept her gaze shifting between the Warchief and Priss to avoid staring at either one of them.

"...I should probably be going now," Zeke finally said, pulling his hand away and making for the door, "I'll be in touch."

"Yeah, I know." Priss replied. He intended it to sound like a parting pleasantry, but she couldn't shake the fact that he would be around to keep tabs on her more than to make small talk and enjoy each other's company. However, she didn't want to call him out on anything unsavory with two people around who had no idea what tensions were buried in the interactions and relationship between Priss and Zeke.

Karina made her way over to Priss and cleared her throat lightly to grab her attention, "I was just about to make some lunch, are you hungry?"

"Oh God, am I!" Priss exclaimed, "I feel like it's been ages since I've eaten..."

"Well don't you worry, have a seat and I'll get things going." Karina said with a smile.

Priss nodded and Karina shuffled off to go prepare something for the three of them, she then looked back over to the table; Gabi was the only one sitting there, so there were a number of seats for Priss to choose from, but something about the child's stare beckoned her. She quietly made her way over to the chair next to Gabi and took a seat, all the while the child's gaze followed her. Priss wasn't sure to do with the kid at this point – silent and staring – so she just awkwardly smiled and waved at her.

"Are you a princess?" Gabi finally spoke, a question so unashamedly blunt that stunned Priscilla.

"...Eh?! What?" She asked, furrowing her brows.

"Or what about an elf? Maybe a fairy?!" Gabi pressed excitedly, leaning in closer to her, "You don't look like a normal person..."

Elf? Fairy? What is she talking about?

"Gabi, don't go bothering her with your silly questions..." Karina called from across the room where she was preparing their meal.

This didn't dampen the child's curiosity and she kept on pushing her idea, "Hmm you don't have any wings... but I bet you can use your magic to hide them," Gabi went on and then lowered her voice as she tugged on Priscilla's shirt to pull her in closer to her, "You can tell me the truth, I won't tell the grown ups if you're a fairy princess. I'll keep it a secret."

Priss giggled again at Gabi and her sweet, pure honesty. Part of her didn't want to disappoint the little girl with the boring truth, but she knew it'd be wrong to lie – especially about something so magical. The other factor was that Priscilla wasn't even familiar with the creatures Gabi was mentioning, besides princesses of course, so she had no room to really comment on whatever an elf or fairy was – whatever memories she had of fantasy stories and the creatures from them from her youth were lost to her at this point for the most part.

"I'm sorry, but I'm just a normal girl..." Priss assured her with a kind smile, then reached out and gave the kid a pat on the head, "Nothing special about me at all."

Gabi looked doubtful and she pouted, "Are you sure? You look like you came out of a fantasy story."

Priscilla's expression remained soft as she contemplated Gabi's relentless insistence of her being something more than just average, keeping her bright green eyes looking into Gabi's. Then, by either a stroke of genius or luck, what could only be described as a good answer came to her.

"Well... I guess you could say I'm some kind of princess," Priss admitted, her face starting to flush as she began to explain. Gabi's eyes grew even wider and excitement visibly rose in her over this revelation – she looked like she'd soon explode, "I'm Reiner's princess, and he's my prince."

"Woah, really? Reiner's a prince?" Gabi marveled, leaning so far forward towards Priscilla that they were practically nose to nose.

"Mhmm." Priss nodded, "He saved me from... evil monsters."

Gabi was bouncing in her chair, "Tell me more! Tell me more!"

"The story's still ongoing," Priss explained, "But your cousin is a brave hero who won the heart of a lonely princess and dedicated himself to keeping her safe from evil. He's amazing and I'm so lucky to have found my prince..."

The gleeful look on Gabi's face told her that she was pleased with the little story Priss gave her – a true one at that. Then, as it often did, the reality that there wouldn't be a happy ending started to creep up her spine once more. Her mouth twitched as she struggled to keep her smile up for Gabi's sake, but the pain of knowing the entire truth was unbearable. Priss finally turned away from Gabi, sitting forward in her chair and turning her head down, allowing her hair to act as a barrier between her and the child. Gabi seemed innocently oblivious to Priscilla's shift in mood, going ahead and straightening herself in her own chair, feeling so happy about the brief story she was told as she waited for their lunch.

I wonder if she knows yet? Priss thought as she heard Gabi humming beside her, About the shifters...

"I honored your request, Reiner." Zeke spoke from the other side of the bars.

Behind them sat a broken man, one who had been stricken with worry ever since they arrived in Marley, but to hear those words from Zeke brought him some sense of relief. He raised his head up, revealing tired eyes, to look at his superior.

"Thank you, Warchief Zeke..." Reiner said softly, "So she's with my mom now?"

"Yes," Zeke confirmed, "And your cousin was there too."

Reiner's expression sank further with this additional news, "I bet she was expecting me to come back and wanted to see me right away..." He lamented, hanging his head again, "I still have no idea what's going on with my case and how long I'll be here. I just... I just want to see my family. I wanna be with her."

Those words stung Zeke hard. He was shocked, and almost disappointed in himself, for feeling envy for Reiner in that moment. Not specifically because he coveted Reiner's woman, but the fact that he had a loving family he was close to. Zeke didn't have much beside himself, only his grandparents that had taken him in after he sold out his parents at Ksaver's suggestion – he had no other relatives to speak of here in Marley, and his connection with his grandparents wasn't as deep as it was when he was a child anyway. All Zeke had was two other men who were more like superiors than friends, despite the assurances from Anteros that he indeed saw him as a friend.

"And I wanted to be there to introduce Priss to them..." Zeke heard Reiner's start to break a bit, "Everything's gone so wrong... and I feel so helpless locked away in here, I hate it!"

Reiner sprang up from his bed and started wildly pacing the small cell, running one of his hands through his hair and gripping his head firmly as if searching for something – anything – he could do. Zeke watched as his subordinate struggled to cope, but he had nothing he could offer: no platitudes, no comfort, no words of wisdom that would just ring hollow anyway. Zeke also had it still fresh in the back of his mind that he was the reason Reiner was in there, although it was possible that even without Zeke laying the blame solely on Reiner for his own personal gain that he would have suffered the same fate anyway.

"And she can't stay with mom forever..." Reiner muttered as he kept pacing, "We'll need our own place to live eventually too. She'll be fine at my mom's for a bit but I doubt she'd want to spend a long time there..."

And that's when an actually helpful idea struck Zeke, "Marriage." He said simply.

Reiner stopped and snapped his head to Zeke, "What did you say?"

"We're members of the military, even if we are Eldians." Zeke began, "Which means a military spouse would be entitled to benefits, which would include basic housing and a small living wage. Not many shifters end up getting married given our short lifespans, but you two had it in your plans anyway, right?"

"Yeah, of course!" Reiner confirmed, rushing to the bars to be closer to Zeke and grabbing the cold metal, "But how can we get married while I'm in here?"

"You two just need to be legally married. A certificate with your signatures and one from a judge," Zeke went on, "No need for a ceremony right away, but if you two are legally wed then you two should be able to live somewhere independently. I know us Warriors often just stay at HQ, but that's because we never have much of a need for our own space... unlike you two. She can stay with your mother until it's official, then move and wait for you wherever they provide military housing."

"...Are you gonna help us with that?" Reiner asked. Zeke raised an eyebrow, but his comrade went on to make himself clear, "Would you handle the documents? Get her to sign it and then bring it here so I can?"

"Well, I can do my best..." Zeke responded, looking away from Reiner's intense golden eyes that were pleading for support, "I've never gone and done something like this before. And besides, surely you'll be out of here soon."

"Please, do whatever you can until then," Reiner begged, "I can't be there for her right now, so I need you to help me for her sake until I can be by her side again."

It was tragic that the one who had to be there for her was Zeke; she had Gabi and Karina now, but Zeke was the liaison between the lovers and he also just knew her better than the two members of Reiner's family. Sadly, with Reiner locked away from the world, Zeke was the one who could help either of them.
