For day 5 of Gochi Holidays on Twitter - Moonlight

The wind blew carelessly across the wild green garden; the grass gently swaying, the branches fluttering in the nearby trees. The sun had gently faded in the darkening sky, the moon awakening to take its first breath of the night. Leaves had showered the grassy ground below, colours of orange, yellow and brown, the first signs of Fall.

Goku smiled and closed his eyes as he relaxed in the outdoor bath tub. The rhythms of nature rapped at his ears; the sound of the wind, the gentle trickling of water from the nearby river, the sweet cheeping of the birds as they nested down for the night, and the crickets chirping amongst the bushes. Goku sighed contently, the night was perfectly peaceful and he didn't realise how much he had missed it.

7 years is a long time to be away from home, to be away from his family, to be away from this.

His thoughts suddenly shifted to something else that made the evening so perfect. He turned his head slightly to the left, his nose nestling her hair. To smell her scent again, to feel her warm naked body against his again as she leaned against his chest, submerged in the near scorching water of their bath.

This he missed. This was perfection. This was home.

His sharp senses could hear her breathing softly as she relaxed against him, and feel the gentle beating of her heart as it vibrated through his chest. His right hand was limp, resting on her bare thigh, his left hand playing with hers, his fingertips entwining with hers and tenderly caressing them.

How did he go so long without this?

She was those final steps, that last turn around the bend, that little house in the distance, with the light on and the logs burning on the fire. She was the warmth of those four walls, the laughter that echoed down the hall, and the blanket of protection with her arms.

To him, she was his home.

And he loved coming home.

He gently opened his eyes, his gaze catching the reflection of the moon, glistening on the surface of the water. It was soothing and captivating. The contrast between the dark sky and the gleaming moon was comforting. He let the side of his head rest gently against hers, the tip of his nose tenderly nuzzling the side of her face, a form of affection she found most endearing.

He couldn't see it, but he knew she was smiling.

He let his lips softly brush across her delicate skin, leaving sweet kisses down the side of her neck.

"I missed you" he breathed, his breath leaving goosebumps across her body. She lightly nudged his head with her own, that loving smile never faltering.

"I missed you, too" she whispered.

He loved her. More than anything in the Universe. She was his ... she was his person. That one person who was made for him.

Oh, Kami, he loved her.

To the moon and back.
