A couple of hours passed and Xavier still has the ice pack on his cheek. John informed him that he's gonna need it for a couple of hours, as Baltimore apologises to him several times, and he accepted it.
He decides not to participate in sports activities, as he sat down on the beach chair watching the girls having their fun, as Belfast and the other maids are right beside him.
Half an hour has passed, and Sheffield sees grey clouds arriving. "Master." She called out, a storm is approaching.
Xavier noticed it as well. "Alright, we need to get inside." He stated as the other maids nodded. Then the Azur Lane begins to pack up...
It was 1 pm, as the girls packed up, but the storm has already hit, some of the girls got drenched by the rain as they run to the dorms.
Inside, Xavier and John along with the maids manage to get inside while being dry, there he listed out the girls that made wet.
Just then water droplets landed on Xavier, and he turns to see Javelin, Laffey, and Unicorn are wet by the rain. And it was Laffey who shook herself, causing water droplets to fly out. Then the three got water sprayed by Uniconr's doll which shook itself.
"Ow! Hornet!" Hammann cries out as Hornet dries her off with a towel.
"Ey, calm down!" Hornet assured as she continues on.
Belfast then spoke to Xavier, "Master, there's still a lot of other girls that are cold and wet, preharps they should also take a bath." She suggested.
"Alright." Xavier nodded. "Everyone, you all can go baths." He announced, which caused some of the girls to be excited especially those who are wet from the rain.
"Thanks, Commander!" Hornet gives a thumbs up. Enterprise is there as she nods in thanks.
"Thank you, Commander!" Javelin gleamed as Laffey and Unicorn joined in with the others.
"Well, you better not stare at us!" Hammann puffed her cheeks.
"Come on let's go!" Denver cheered along with Cleveland and her sisters.
"Eh! Calm down!" Cleveland tries to settle her excited sisters as they reached the baths.
Thus most of the girls left, except the maids, and John are remaining here with the Commander.
Xavier decides to speak to the maids, "You should go, you need to relax as well." He suggested.
Belfast smiled, "That is kind of you to say that Master. We shall." Then some of the other maids thanked him and joins the girls.
John then spoke up, "Now that's done, someone wanted to speak with you." He said. "It's Yorktown, Enterprise, and Hornet's sister. Hornet told her about you helping Enterprise. Is that fine?"
"Huh?" Xavier asked, then he replied, "That's fine." John nodded as the two head off, some of the girls hears this, most notably Hornet, and Enterprise.
"Hmph, hopefully, Commander doesn't try anything on Yorktown." Hammann muttered, crossing her arms.
Hornet smiled, "I assure you, she'll be fine." She said.
Enterprise glanced at Hornet as she smiled as well...
John and Xavier arrived at one of the dorms, John knocks on the door and it opens revealing another girl in there, Juneau.
"Hello, Juneau, thank you for taking care of Yorktown." John smiled.
"It's okay, Doctor..." Juneau shyly replied. Then she sees Xaiver, "C-commander!" She fretted.
"Don't be afraid!" Xavier assured as Juneau sees this and settles down a little bit.
John speaks up, "The girls will be taking a bath, you should go and join them." He said.
"O-okay..." Juneau nodded, "Good to meet you, Commander..." She takes a small bow before heading off.
Xavier sees her go, then to the room, John goes first as he follows him. There, he sees her, Yorktown on the chair. She turns around to see them as she smiles warmly, "Good to see you, Doctor." She also gazed at Xavier, "And to you Commander."
John nodded as Xavier speaks, "Well, it's good to see you, how are you feeling?" He asked.
Yorktown smiled, "Have felt better." She said, "Please come take a seat." She gestured to the table that there are other chairs.
John and Xavier walked in and take a seat, Yorktown sighed, "...It's been months since Enterprise since she couldn't save him." She mentioned the previous Commander. "But you, I never felt so much relief for my little sister..." She gleamed, "She even joined me for a breakfast along with Hornet." She recalled last morning.
Xavier smiled after hearing Enterprise is starting to grow closer to her family.
"I really need to thank you, Commander." Yorktown added, "She's been isolating herself in an attempt to become stronger and protect us, and now she realised all the isolation is hurting herself only."
"It's my pleasure, Yorktown." Xavier nodded, "I only do what's best for all, including how much she lost." He replied.
Yorktown agreed, "...Even to this day, Enterprise hoped she could do more for him..." She said. "And she's not the only one..."
"Akagi..." Xavier mentioned to her, "She's going to bring back the old Commander..."
"Along with others, the Crimson Axis." John added. "Tho, we must not harshly blame them, the Crimson Axis took more toll than all of us in the Azur lane."
Yorktown nodded, knowing the news of the attacks, "Commander..." Xavier gazed at her, "As much as I love the old Commander for what he has done for us, he would always tell us to never lose ourselves. Our emotions are strong, but we must use them well."
John chuckled, "Coming from him when he asked his maids to add small amounts of drugs or poison into his drink so he could gain immunity from them." Yorktown also giggled at that, while Xavier looks bewildered by hearing another moment of him.
"But he has good intentions..." Yorktown added, "And we have inspired him much..." Her expression saddens, "Tho the Crimson Axis... To believe this, that the old Commander is still alive... And their emotions are strong..."
John ponders on this, "As questionable as it is, there are suggestions that make this true... Such as the missing body..." He mentioned.
"And it's just enough for the Azur Lane to be split." Xavier added, "Even Akagi won't work together due to me. Their emotional connections with Commander is very strong..."
"Commander, do you still intend to help them even after what they thought about you?" Yorktown asked.
"It doesn't matter to me." Xavier replied, "I intend to help them because I choose to do it. It is my choice. As you said, they are hurt."
Yorktown is surprised to hear that as she smiled, "Thank you, Commander." She said, "I hoped that you will make it with Azur Lane reunited once again. Despite the odds against us." She recalls the battles and even mentions Project Orochi.
"I will." Xavier nodded.
John smiled, "You should go, Yorktown and I will stay here." He advised.
"Of course." Xavier nodded as he leaves the dorm.
John spoke up, "So, he's similar yet different, don't you think?" He asked.
Yorktown nodded, "Brave like the Commander, yet has a different purpose..." She said. "He will be a good leader." She stated as the two remain settling here.
In the bathhouse, hours have passed as the girls are relaxing in the steamy spa waters. Enterprise is along with Hornet in a very large pool of spa, while others are on separate spa baths either large or small.
Hornet sighed in relief, "This is the stuff, right sis?" She asked her.
"Of course." Enterprise smiled, "It's been a while since we all done this..."
Hammann is also along with the two, "If it weren't for Commander constantly breaking down the bathhouse." She mentioned.
Hornet chuckled at that, "Yeah... But say, the new Commander ain't bad, I bet our original Commander would like to hang out with him." She said.
Sims is here as well, "That is if he hasn't annoyed him like Doc." She said.
"The Doctor?" Cleveland hears the conversation as she is standing along with her sisters. Then she understands it, "Oh yeah, I would never forget the times, Doc yelled at him or the fact Commander kept jumping out of the window."
"And screaming like a maniac." Montpelier added.
"He does have an enthusiasm for that." Denver remarked as they remember the times...
Javelin, Laffey, and Unicorn arrived as well with Illustrious accompanying them, they also heard the conversation and join in.
"You're talking about the Commander?" Javelin asked.
Hornet nodded, "Yeah, just talking about our past memories of him..."
"Laffey, remember the time Commander tries to catch mice..." She said.
"Where do you know this?" Hammann questioned Laffey which she shrugged.
"So that's where he gets from..." Sheffield spoke as the girls see her and the maids here.
Belfast giggled, "Well I hope you don't mind us here." She said.
Hornet smiled, "Not at all!" She replied.
Then the discussion goes on, about how the girls revised their memories with their old Commander as well as their thoughts on the new Commander, so far the feeling is positive. Enterprise sees them having fun and Hornet sees this and smiles as well.
Everything has gone so well...
In the forest, where a bird has a small stick on her beak, she arrives at the nest resting on the branch, places the stick, and stays there. Then a shake on the ground startled the bird as she looks around to see Orochi walking beside the branch.
Orochi glances at the bird on the next, it scans the winged creature. Then immediately, without the bird reacting a small turret appears on Orochi's shoulder shooting the bird down, vaporizing the creature, and leaving nothing but bare feathers hovering down.
Orochi remains walking to the Azur Lane Base, where it scans the entire perimeter...Searching... Searching continues...
There.A bunker that contains the wisdom cube they need... It's contained inside a small vault room, Orochi scans a way to enter inside... Then proceeds to head there first. After that, Orochi's next target is none other than...
The baths are over, and the girls leave the room, "Ha... What a good one!" Hornet remarked as they walked to the main area.
"Do you all enjoy the baths, everyone?" A voice called out, and they see Xavier waiting by as he is near the wall.
"It was great, Commander!" Bremerton replied with a thumbs up.
Marblehead agreed, "Yeah, it is." She nodded.
"O... A shame you wasn't here..." Duke Of York spoke out, as some of the girls blushed including him, "You must also be in need of relaxation..." She reasoned.
"N-no thanks, I'll deny the request." Xavier stuttered.
"You better not listen to her!" Hammann called out. Amazon, Cresent, Arethusa, Foote, and Nelson agreed with her. Xavier immediately waves his hands as an understanding gesutre.
"O please..." Duke Of York smirked, "Hasn't thee dreams, previous Commander, not once your likings?" Then these girls blushed brighter than others.
Ajax decides to continue this, "Indeed you have your own thoughts for him, surely he won't mind, but then again the problem..."
"SHUT UP!" All of them screamed at Ajax. "YOU'RE THE PROBLEM!"
Rodney smiled, "Forgive them, so now that's over..." She recalled what they do now.
Xavier nodded, "We resume our patrol... Your Majesty?" He asked Queen Elizabeth.
"Of course Servant!" Queen Elizabeth shouted, "We shall go." Then a beep suddenly occurred as Wales takes out the device and widens her eyes.
"Someone entered the bunker!" She exclaimed, this caused shock to the others.
"The Wisdom Cube!" Rossiya stated. "It's stolen!"
"By who?" Xavier asked, and before Wales can answer, a large hand broke through the wall and grabs Xavier pulling him out.
"COMMANDER!" Everyone shouted.
He later gets tossed outside and lands hard on the ground, Xavier screams in pain as his arm lands first. Before he can do something, someone grabbed him by the leg, he looks to see none other than Orochi itself. He widens his eyes, as Orochi lifts him up, its hand shifts into a taser and zaps him.
He yells in pain and was knocked out cold, and Orochi shifts out the taser weapon and reveals its hand holding the Wisdom Cube as it was about to glow purple...
"Commander!" Warspite rushed in with her sword and swung from behind causing Orochi to stagger and dropped the cube. The giant robot turns as Warspite attempts another swing, but the attack was stopped by Orochi's second hand as it grabs it and throws it off Warpsite's hands and grabs her face, before tossing her away with great strength.
Then Orochi proceeds to walk to the cube until a small white Unicorn doll jumps on its visor and starts attacking it. Orochi tries to grab the doll but it avoids them all.
Unicorn is here and so along with Javelin and she charges first and uses her javelin to strike at Orochi's knee causing it to stagger down. Then Wales comes in immediately and attempts to strike the arm where Orochi grabs Xavier.
However Orochi moves its arm away, and Javelin comes back around and attempts to attack from behind, only Orohci using its other arm to block the strike. The two girls continue to fight while the Unicorn's doll distracted Orochi.
But it wasn't enough, Orochi backhanded Javelin which she got knocked out, and immediately grabs Wales' sword before crushing it in half. Wales widen her eyes, as Orochi dishes out a push kick that pushed her straight to the ground.
Then Orochi grabs the doll's leg and tosses it away. Then gunshots blasted from behind as Orochi turns to see Sheffield is the one firing, Orochi proceeds to shoot the maid with its cannon.
Sheffield dodges them and fires her shot, the bullet immediately went inside Oorhci's cannon. But the cannon didn't malfunction, as Orochi then aims and fires the bullet Sheffield shoot which caught her by surprise, and barely avoids it until she gets hit by Orochi's energy blast.
Orochi resumes the task and walks to the cube until cannons are shot and the cube got flung from the explosion, Orochi watches as it landed in San Diego's hands.
"San Diego! Don't let it get the cube!" Cleveland yelled as San Diego panicky nodded as she runs off, with Phoenix, Juneau, and many few others following her.
Orochi sees this as its visor glitched. It's pissed. So annoying... Orochi then turns around as more girls surrounded their opponent. Vestal and Akashi rush to help out those who have gotten hurt.
"Remember, no excessive force..." Hornet reminded due to Orochi having Commander.
"...Attack!" Rossiya yelled as Dido, Sirius, and King George V charged first with their swords out. Orochi deals with the three, as it attempts to dodge the slashes, and manages to backhand punch Sirius who gets knocked from a fairway and blocks the shots from Cleveland and her sisters providing moderate fire.
It is decided... Send in the drones.
San Diego and the others are rushing to the dorms, where John and Yorktown rushed outside.
"What happened?" John asked, knowing the alarm blared out.
"It's Orochi!" Edinburgh being part of the force, "It has Master, and is trying to get the cube." As San Diego shows that she is still holding it.
John nodded. "Well, get that thing as far away as possible before it..." Then lasers shoot down from the skies causing multiple explosions, the girls along with John took back by surprise as they look up to see not tens but hundreds of snake-like drones descending down.
"Incoming!" Allen M Summer yells as they proceed to shoot these drones down, but their evasion is not like any other fighter, they can move side-by-side. This surprised them as they have not fought these kinds of enemies.
"Scatter!" Eagle yelled as they dodges the lasers, as some of the drones dropped bombs causing multiple explosions. Enterprise, the maid manages to help John get out of the explosion. Eagle and the other aircraft carriers summon their planes to counter the drones, but the drones still gain the dogfight advantage.
Yorktown sees this, and decides to help as she summons her riggings, John sees this and calls out, "Yorktown don't! You're not fully recovered!" He warned.
"But I can still fight!" Yorktown replied.
"No, you are still injured from the last battle. Enterprise, take care of her." John ordered the maid Enterprise as she nodded.
"Of course." Enterprise nodded. Then the battle against drones continues...
Back the fight against Orochi goes on, and Azur Lane is struggling against the giant robot. Vanguard and Jeanne charge in as Jeanne attacks first, Orochi blocks the strike, and Vanguard then ducks down as Orochi attacked Jeanne.
And with that, Vanguard strikes Orochi's arm and the Commander has been released. And then Benson manages to catch him.
"I got him!" Benson yelled as she jumps out of the way and dodge Orochi's punch. With that opportunity, Hood began to fire the cannons all out, Washington, Queen Elizabeth, New Jersey, and many more joined the barrage.
Benson attempts to get away from the fight, due to the Commander, however, Orochi gets up from the barrage, as they deal no damage, and aims its laser cannon at Benson.
Richelieu and Rossiya see this and the two joined with North Carolina, and Massachusetts fired another barrage. Enterprise, Hornet, Illustrious, and Unicorn, summons their planes along with the other aircraft carriers and fire upon the robot. Laffey, Cleveland, and other destroyers and cruisers fired all out as well.
Now, Orochi is being staggered as multiple firing continued on, and Benson manage to get out.
Cannot... Fail... Mission... Must... Commence...
Just then Orochi emits energy from its cannon but as soon it looks complete, Orochi punches the cannon arm to the ground and released the energy.
A large explosion consumes the entire area, and as all of them got pushed back buildings around the area get cracked and tumble down.
From a small distance, the girls continue to deal with the drones, as Norfolk gets blown back as Kent and Suffolk caught her safely.
Then they felt the shockwave from the explosion, but they cannot do anything as the drones attacked. San Diego shoots down more of the drones, she gets them more than the others.
The drones are not getting further, then a command from Orochi is received as they glow red, before diving straight down.
"Huh!?" San Diego is confused by these drones, until one of them crashed near her, causing an explosion larger than their destruction. San Diego gets blasted away, letting go of the cube, the other drones continue to descend and multiple explosions occur, distracting the girls. John and Yorktown, and the maid Enterprise also get caught.
Then one of them grabbed the cube. Then the drone teleported with the drone.
Everyone who got injured by the explosions, slowly get up, Baltimore and Vestal help Foxhound and Fortune who got caught in the blast.
John slowly gets up, unharmed realising that maid Enterprise manages to save him along Yorktown, who is also fine.
They watch the ruins meanwhile another battle goes on to the other side...
The explosion cleared out as Orochi sees Commander who got smoldered by the explosion next to Benson whose been hurt and laying on the ground. As Orochi walks to the Commander...
"No, you don't!" Phoenix charged in and bumps into Orcohi's leg causing it to be slightly pushed by her strength. But Orochi smacked Phonex away and continues to the Commander.
Then Renown came from behind and slashed at Orochi's head with her sword, Orochi leaned back, dodging another swing. As Enterprise came in and shot an energy arrow at the head, and Hornet came summoning planes as it fires at the robot.
So... Annoying...
Orochi has had enough. The robot grabbed Renown and slammed her to the ground, then Orochi fires its cannon at Hornet who screamed in pain as the laser continues to fire.
"Sis!" Enterprise fretted as her sister gets hurt by the blast. She fires an arrow at Orochi who stops firing and walks straight forward to her. She fires a second arrow but it simply did nothing to the mechanical beast, Orochi grabs her neck and starts to squeeze, choking her.
It's happening again... She's losing her breath, no... She can't lose... Hornet... Yorktown... Doctor... Commander... Everyone... As she struggles... Slowly letting go of her bow... Her mind went dark...
Then Enterprise opens her eyes and sees herself on a sea with flames everywhere. She looked confused.
"What is this place?..." She whispered to herself. Then she sees in front of her, someone... That looks almost like her... Ruined... Like what Commander said... Her alternate self gazes at her, her eyes look dead, and no emotions leak out.
Before Enterprise can speak, she suddenly drops down and she sinks underwater watching the other version of herself staring down as she slowly has her eyes closed...
Meanwhile, Hornet slowly gets up along with the other girls as she sees her sister, which caused her to worry, and tries to get up to save her. Wales sees this along with Hood and everyone else, but they didn't expect this...
Enterprise's eyes... Are glowing yellow and her expression of struggle changed completely to a silent face?
"Sis...?" Hornet muttered as Enterprise's riggings summoned a plane that creates a powerful explosion. Everyone holds onto themselves and covers their faces.
Orochi gets pushed back and sees Enterprise standing. Her yellow glowing eyes gazed at the robot and readies her bow. Orochi walks forward and Enterprise release the arrow the energy arrow went straight through Orochi's armor and a more enormous explosion bigger than ever before.
"Such power..." Illustrious muttered as everyone cover their eye due to the brightness.
"Sister...?" Hornet is confused, since when did Enterprise like this?
Meanwhile, Enterprise remains to stand, unfazed by the powerful explosion, she gazed at the downed Commander. Suddenly her mind faltered, and the yellow glow reduces...
Then Orochi suddenly appears from the smoke and the shoulder armor has been damaged, a gaping hole through the shoulder where Enterprise shot.
Everyone is surprised that Enterprise managed to damage Orochi's armor...
Before they can do anything, Orochi fired its laser cannon at Enterprise she gets blasted away and crashed into a wall, then grabs the Commander as a single drone appeared and grabbed the robot as a big red flash covers them...
And they are gone... The Azur Lane failed to protect their Commander...
