Chapter 4: The Cold, Yet Protective Father
Keith sighed, why was he wearing a suit at a dinner table to meet Adrien's father. Probably to present himself as the good influence Adrien claims he is. In his team they would probably say that he isn't the best influence a peer of his or younger people could have in their lives.
So that makes him nervous and he's heard from Adrien that his father is distant yet very protective of him. He wouldn't go into details, but Keith figures the details aren't important. Especially since he hasn't been open about his past with his new close friend.
So sitting all the way across from where he and Adrien are sitting with Natalie standing behind sits . His soon to be, if he accepts Keith, father. Since he is going to be living here he has to live under rules. So the closest thing to a father Keith has had in years.
"Adrien what is the meaning of this? Bringing in an unauthorized guest into our home, I expected much better from you."
"With all due respect sir," Keith says from where he is sitting, "Adrien is helping me out. And I promise to do his lessons with him and any extra thing that is required of me while I stay. I understand if you do not accept me into your home and you don't know me. But leave Adrien out of this. He was only helping me out of the kindness of his heart, sir."
Adrien gives him a surprised look. Keith guesses it is because Adrien normally only speaks when spoken to with his father. Which is so wrong. His father allowed him to speak his mind whenever he had something to say. The same thing should go for Adrien's father. But if he is as cold and distant as Adrien says, then well, he has some problems.
"First, you are to only speak to me when spoken to. And I expect that when you accompany Adrien to his lessons you will do them and not distract him. And since you want to prove yourself that you are worthy to stay here you shall become a model of my brand. And you are to ask me for permission if you want to hangout with friends. You shall also accompany Adrien to his school and I do not want to hear a complaint out of you about the workload. If you want to stay here you shall work as hard as Adrien or you'll have to leave."
"But father!"
"Adrien stay out of this, this does not concern you. It only concerns Mr. Kogane ."
"I accept the terms. I will work hard and you won't hear a peep of complaint."
But what he really wanted to do was to strangle the man sitting all the way on the other end of the table. But if he let his temper get to him then he wouldn't have a place to stay. And if he's making Adrien and him work so hard he might be hiding something. Aftercall he bet's that they're going to be out of the house all day on school days and then almost all day on weekends with photoshoot and for him photoshoot training.
But if he could handle fighting aliens in a life or death battle against hundreds of ships and Galaxy Garrison training, he could handle all the lessons and schoolwork he would have to do.
