Chapter 7: Bakery(Chloe's POV)

Chloe brushes her long blonde hair in a nervous fashion. Today is the day her friendship with Keith officially becomes official. She is still surprised that he saved her and stuck up for her when the rest of the class wanted nothing to do with her after she caused another akuma.

The thought of the raven haired boy saying those nice things about her makes her blush. Even Adrien never said those words to her, but Keith did.

Placing down the brush she decides to leave her hair down. After all she is starting fresh with a friend who actually wants her and can't be bribed like with Sabrina. Is this what friendship really is? Probably.

She goes to her closet and decides to not wear anything yellow and white, in order to really symbolize that she is starting fresh. She choses a red long sleeve shirt with ruffles on the collar and dark blue jean pants. She completes the look by adding some red eye shadow that she lightly puts on and small red diamond shaped earrings that dangle a little.

She looks at herself in the mirror, perfect. It's the perfect look to state that she's starting anew with Keith.

Her limo drops her off at the school steps and she sees Keith is also wearing a new look. He is wearing a red sweater with a white hood and it looks like it's got cat ears on the hood with a ladybug shirt underneath that has her yo-yo in the middle. His jeans are light blue and he has red and white sneakers that match the sweater.

"So I see we both decided to try a new look Blondie. Got to say it suits you."

Chloe blushes a little, "Yours does too."

Keith smiles at her and it makes her heart pound. Gosh he really is so darn cute when he smiles.

He links his elbow with hers and he escorts her to the classroom.

She sits in her normal place but chooses to be not on the side of the desk that accesses the pathway to the other desks. Chloe watches as Keith tells Ms Bustier that he has to switch seats. Keith grins, while the teacher sighs.

He walks up to her still wearing that grin. "Me and Sabrina switched Blondie. So now you have me by your side during all classes. She gave me a note to hand to Ms Mendeleiev so that we can sit side by side in all our classes."

"Good job Raven."

"Raven?"

"Well you get to call me Blondie, the color of my hair. I assumed I could call you Raven as your nickname."

"I just wasn't expecting it. Anyway, are you going to take your notes or shall I do them for you."

"I'm going to do them. I want to start being better, your example yesterday helped motivate me to be better. I want to be someone worth saving."

"Cool, and if you need any help just ask me and we can go over it at lunch or when I have free time."

Chloe nods.

It was a little hard to write notes and follow along and actually pay attention to classes but she did it. All the class gave her surprised looks when she just stayed close to Keith and didn't insult any of them. Keith is her knight and her friend now. She doesn't need to bother those guys because she has someone who accepts her and doesn't spoil her like her dad.

Being with Keith made her heart pound all the time. Was she really crushing on him?

She couldn't tell clearly, but his smile always made her heart melt. Wait, where are they going? That's Dupain-Cheng's Bakery.

"Raven, why are we here?"

"Well I figured since you wanted a fresh start getting a job with me part time at the Bakery would help."

"But..But.."

"I know you and Marinette had a rivalry, Blondie, but I think a job here would help you on the path of becoming the successful woman you are meant to be. Besides, I'll be with you the whole way, so you have nothing to fear."

Well that's true. And a job would help her get into real life and help her stop acting like a high horse.

"Alright. I'll apologize to her dad too."

"That's the spirit!"

She admires Keith. He was actually trying to help her be better and he was going through with her. Wow, her first real friend since Adrien is really hardcore. Which makes her face flush and her heart beat louder and faster.

When they walk into the bakery she sees the surprised looks on Marinette's parents and the confusion and a little bit of weariness. Which make her spill out, "Look I know I haven't been the kindest to you or to your food but thanks to Keith I am motivated to turn a new leaf and start fresh and Keith believes that working here will help me get over being spoiled and will help me stop agonizing your daughter and you and I hope that it will if you accept us as part time workers here."

The parents look at each other and their faces soften into a smile.

"Well it will be great to have the extra hands to run the bakery when it gets busy and when we want to date or if we have a date while someone needs to pick something up, right Tom?"

"You're right. But we will have to train them when you are free Keith, I know you live in the Agreste manor."

"I'm free Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, and I can work at 4:30 on the other days of the week. I've already asked for permission and Mr. Agreste has agreed. He's removed me from Chinese lessons so I'm free on Monday. I'll inform you when he wants me for a modeling job as he had higher hopes for me in that area instead of Chinese. Blondie's free everyday. I'm off piano for today as wants me and Blondie to start right away."

"We'll give you guys Wednesday and Thursday off as weekends are the busiest time for our bakery as everyone seems to be off work then."

They both nod.

"Then come into the back. We'll start your training right away. Whatever tips you earn at the front you can keep. Now let's get baking."

Baking was hard, especially since she's never done it before and Keith isn't much better. But they started to get the hang of it a few hours later. Keith and her bantered and teased each other as they mixed and boxed and added ingredients for pastries to bake. And for the first time in forever she finally had some genuine fun with a friend, who she might like.

At nine o'clock Nathalie, Mr. Ageste's secretary picked up Keith, who had bits of dried batter in his hair due to some accidental spraying of the batter, which was Chloe's fault. "Hey, you coming?"

"Sure."

She climbed into the limo, Keith must be worried about baddies roaming the streets at night. As she sat close to him she began to race again and she swears it was loud enough for Keith to hear. But he didn't. He talked with her about the day and the baking and other topics.

She hits her head on her pillow. Never had she had so much fun with someone. She still feels happy and all tingly inside. Keith really did brighten up her day, if she was with anyone else she wouldn't be so happy to spend more time with them.

Keith sure is one of a kind.

Chloe woke up exhilarated and excited. Sure she'd have to work again, but Keith would be with her. School wasn't becoming a chore anymore, ever since two days ago.

She woke up so early that she decided to walk to school this morning. The sun is shining and not a cloud in the sky, perfect weather.

"Hi Raven!"

Keith jumps a little, "You're early Blondie."

"Yesterday just made me so happy and wonderful."

"I bet, after all you were with me," He grins at her.

"Yeah you being there was the best part. But also doing all those things together and actually having fun makes me wish I met you sooner!"

"Well better late than never right?"

Chloe smiles, "Yeah."

She looks into his indigo/purple eyes. They're smiling right back at her. The Bakery did her a lot of good with him. Maybe it's the start of something new. As they talk she thinks that maybe he is the best person out there for her. She starts to make plans to ask Keith to be her boyfriend, as he's the only one who actually likes her and is trying to help her and has already started to make her feel better about herself. Maybe when Mom comes back from New York she won't need her attention and encouragement and praise.
