Chapter 10: Feu Noyuer (Adrien's POV)
Adrien slumps in his chair at the school library. The Chinese assignment he was given looks like jumbled up words to him. His eyelids seem heavy, but he shakes himself. If he could do well without Ladybug for two weeks he can continue to do so.
He wishes Keith were here to help him, but instead his friend is working at the Bakery with Chloe instead. Apparently his father had thought that working at the best Bakery in Paris was better than learning a language.
"You okay kid?" asks his kwami.
"Yeah, just exhausted from dealing with those robbers from last night. I swear I have a bruise form where the guy tried to shoot me with a bullet. Thankfully my suit is bulletproof."
"Of course it is Adrien. Superheroes weren't just designed to stop the butterfly and the peacock miraculouses, but to also bring justice whatever form that might be in."
Adrien nods, too tired to speak. His vision starts to blur, but before he could pass out from exhaustion, students form the library started to run. Particularly Max, and a few of his other classmates.
He looks behind him, only to see Kim, but he has a watery shape to him. His voice sounds like running water, "Oh Keith!"
What does Kim want with Keith? It has only been a few days since Keith renounced his friendship with his other classmates and declared Chloe as his only friend. Could it be that Kim still wants Chloe to love him after all this time? Did he see Keith as a threat?
"Agreed, do you know where Keith is?" asks the watery shape of Kim and Adrien shakes his head. He can't tell Kim where Keith is. He can't involve his friends in a fight against an akuma again. He just can't.
Keith seems to always help out no matter what when he's in the area of the akuma fight. And Chloe, recently has begun to help him too. But Keith has often gotten hurt, and he doesn't want him to suffer a serious injury.
"Kid, The akuma is gone."
Adrien comes back to reality and curses himself for getting distracted.
He goes behind a bookshelf hoping every student has gone by now so they won't see him transform. Adrien looks and the coast is clear, "Plagg Claws Out!"
After his transformation is complete he runs throughout the school, following a trail of water that Kim left behind.
He stops as he reaches the railings that lead down to the ground floor of the school. The watery shape of Kim just exits the building as he leaps down. The landing is a little hard, but he managed not to sprain or break his ankles.
He rushes to the doors that lead outside of the school. Watery Kim makes his way towards the Bakery. But that's impossible! I didn't tell him where Keith is! Hawkmoth must have somehow, Adrien thinks, as he chases after Kim.
He yells, "Hey Waterboy, if you're looking for a fight, you've found yourself the feline to oblige you!"
Not his best line, but he had to get Kim's attention somehow.
Kim turns around to face him, "Sorry kitty. But you ain't the opponent I want to drown."
Hawkmoth's control mask shows up on Kim's face and Kim retorts, "You promised me that I would get to fight Keith! Only after that will I get you his miraculous….Alright now off to the Dupain-Cheng Bakery."
Adrien desperately wants to cry out no! But he can't. Otherwise Hawkmoth might use that to his advantage. Which is something Adrien doesn't want to happen.
He takes the best route, in his mind, to get to the bakery before Kim can. He has to protect Keith! No matter what! Keith is like the sibling he wished he had growing up. So he has to protect him. It's his duty as Keith's 'brother'.
Adrien pushes the door into the bakery and gasps, panting.
Keith comes out from behind the counter, "Chat? What are you doing here?"
He forces himself to talk, "I, huff, saw a Water akuma come, puff, this way. I need to, huff, get you to, puff, safety."
"What a surprise, some of the akumas we fight want to beat me. How do I help?"
"You help by staying out of this one. He isn't an ordinary akuma. His drive to beat you beated Hawkmoth's will! So stay out of it! He's coming and I need to get you to safety!"
"I can…"
Chloe comes out of the pantry, her face mad, "Raven if this akuma is as bad a s Chat says he is then you need to get out of here. Chat I can find some place to take him. You hold off this Water akuma."
Chloe takes Keith out of the bakery, leaving him all alone. At least Chloe agrees with me that Keith needs to stay out of this.
The glass shatters and Adrien jumps a little, scared.
"Chat! I told you to stay out of this!" cries Kim in outrage. He grabs Adrien with his watery hands and takes him out the bakery and throws him across the street. He lands on the pavement, rolling for a bit before coming to stop.
He tries to stand up, but with him being so exhausted from last night's fight with the robbers, he falls. Then his eyes widen at the arrival of two new looking superheroes who stand in front of him.
The girl has long blonde hair that has a black ribbon that weaves around the hair in circles. Her super suit is mostly yellow with black covering a little bit of her back, the arms, not the shoulders. A yellow and black spinning top is tied to her waist and two stripes of black start after her thighs, and then black boots with a yellow heel complete the super suit.
The boy has raven hair that ends at the nape of his neck with two fluffy bits for the front of his head showing a little. He has purple and dark pint ears, he has a jacket with the same purple for stripes and the same dark pink which is a little lighter for his jacket color. His jacket stops before his hips and waist. Leaving a substantial part of his back showing which has purple stripes and the dark pink from his ears. Then he has a darker pink belt attached to his waist. He has a tail sticking out below the belt that has purple stripes and dark pink. His tail tip is the same purple as the rest of his stripes. His boots have a dark pink outer rim with purple stripes, which is thicker than the rest of the boot. Light purple is the boots color after the outer rim. Then at the bottom is a dark pink that surrounds his heel and is an inch on the boot.
They stand in defensive poses ready to fight.
"Who are you?!" bellows Watery Kim. His face conveys annoyance and anger.
The girl replies, "I am Honeybee and this is my partner is Marmora. We have come to help Chat Noir face off against you!"
The boy nods, "Yeah!"
Kim smiles, "Are you sure you want to face Feu Noyuer(Fire Drowner!"
The boy growls, "Of course, Chat Noir needs us!"
"Then I shall be your downfall," Feu says confidently.
Chat Noir wants to protest that the new heroes, Honeybee and Marmora, should not fight against Feu Noyuer. But his vision is slipping and he's too exhausted to speak.
Hawkmoths POV
Two new heroes? He shouldn't be surprised, because the grimoire told him that more kwamis existed. But after Ladybug had disappeared because of him he had thought that Chat Noir would only face his akumas alone. Therefore making it easier for him to at least collect he black cat miraculous while he waited for Ladybug to reappear.
But whoever had chosen them, decided Chat couldn't keep up with his daily outputs of akumas alone.
But it could prove advantageous to him.
If he could get those other miraculouses, and perhaps use them to help his akumas by making Adrien and Keith have one then the chances of bringing Emily back would be greater.
And then his family can be whole again.
He watches through his akumas eyes with interest as the two new heroes protect Chat Noir from Feu Noyuer. The boy seems to be skilled at hand to hand combat while the girl seems inexperienced at fighting as a whole.
But the boy more than makes up for that.
The girl try's using her signature move to stun Feu Noyuer, but she misses the first time, as his akuma dodges in time with his water-like reflexes.
The boy yells, "Honeybee I'll hold him off while you detransform somewhere safe!"
The girl flees the scene and the boy is left to fight his akuma. Hawkmoth is relieved that his akuma didn't get to harm Keith. The boy, for some reason, has made Adrien happier. And as he works on getting Emily back, Keith is a good person to replace him for now.
But he needs to have a chat about Keith's records with him.
He turns his attention back to the fight. Feu Noyuer seems to be getting tired, while the boy seems to get more fired up. Maybe the boy is running on adrenaline, or perhaps his training in hand to hand combat has made his strength better than his akuma?
Honeybee returns and the boy makes a face, "You smell like chili peppers!"
"Sorry, I wasn't aware that your superhero form granted you an excellent smell."
"It's fine, but see if you can try and sting Feu Noyuer now. He seems to be getting weaker."
The girl nods hesitant.
The boy then returns to face his akuma, who seems to be getting weaker every minute.
Hawkmoth slaps himself. Of course his akuma is getting weaker. Water draws power from the moon which makes it stranger during the night and weaker during the day. He should have known that!
But it still works out in his favor as he now knows that the guardian who gave Ladybug and Chat Noir their miraculouses is still in Paris.
When he returns to the scene his akuma is paralyzed, "Now where do you think the akuma is hiding?" The boy asks Honeybee.
Honeybee looks at his akuma, "There seems to be a solid red headband in the water. That's probably where the akuma is."
The boy puts his hands into the water and unites the headband. Then he pulls it apart, breaking it with ease. Like a tiger ripping up his prey. The akuma flies out and the boy drops the two pieces of headband.
He grabs the akuma with his hand, and then leans down towards Chat Noir.
"Hey, Chat, wake up!" His other hand poking the black cat hero.
Chat opens his eyes and they land on the boy. "What?"
"We have the akuma. We need you to cataclysm it leader."
The boy opens his hand and the akuma flies out. But before it could fly away Chat Noir says "Cataclysm!" His hand grabs the akuma and then his vision of the situation is lost.
"You new heroes may have beaten me today, but tomorrow, I assure you the fight will be harder."
